Starting point is 00:00:00 One of the big problems with the progressive movement, and this is personal for me, is their utter disregard for your public safety and mine. So law and order to the progress, is totally different than traditional law and order, crime and punishment. The progressives see it as society's fault that people hurt each other. It's not personal. I mean, you shouldn't hold a criminal accountable. That's insane and dangerous, ultra dangerous.
Starting point is 00:00:51 And that's one of the reasons that the progressive movement, in my estimation, has to be wiped out all right i'm i'm pretty tolerant person here but that puts my whole family in danger and yours as well that attitude so we've got three uh legal cases now at the top of the chart as far as the media is concerned and that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo number one is this luigi mangioni age 26 entitled to due process of police in Pennsylvania, I'll tune in to be exact, found him. Actually, I back to New York City, charged with murder in the killing of Brian Thompson, who was the CEO of United Health Care.
Starting point is 00:01:41 There's Mr. Thompson gunned down on 6th Avenue in New York City, broad daylight, it's on tape. And there's no doubt in anybody's mind that Luigi did it. All right, troubled individual, good student, wealthy home, but Loon. And he took the gun and he killed this man. And he did it for political reasons. He didn't get reimbursed on a health care beef or something. And the progressive left hates the private health care system any way they want the government to run, as you know. All that will come out.
Starting point is 00:02:19 And again, he's entitled to due process, but he's never going to be free again. 26 years old, his life's over. okay that's crime and punishment now there's a couple of things interesting about this case the police were tipped off to this guy by a McDonald's worker who recognized some of the video in the media and said that guy looks familiar 60,000 dollars could be coming that young man's way the McDonald's guy assuming it's a guy I'm assuming it's a guy time. That will not be paid out until after a trial. That's just the way these things work. But we're keeping our eye on it because that worker in McDonald's deserves the money. Secondly, the hysteria
Starting point is 00:03:19 about certain people saying, well, the United Health Care CEO deserved it does not deserve your this is a few fringe cooks they're always in play all right ignore it media makes a big deal out of it but i don't i know who these people are and they're mentally ill who say people who say that are mentally ill i'm going to give them any attention at all it's not important all right the second case is daniel penny in new york city former marine long island guy who is found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. You know the case. All right, 26 years old, same age as Luigi, by the way. He's on a subway and he's in a car and a guy comes in 30-year-old Jordan Neely and he menaces the people in the subway, screams and
Starting point is 00:04:21 yells. And Penny takes him down and nearly dies. Okay. So the jury said, look, there's reasonable doubt in this case because this guy was scaring and terrorizing these people. And Penny neutralized him. Unfortunately, the guy is dead. I don't want the guy dead. And I don't know about Penny, but I don't think Benny wanted to kill him either. But either way, there was reasonable doubt and you don't convict unless it's beyond a reasonable doubt that's why penny was acquitted well right away the race hustlers got into it because the victim is black and the perpetrator and who's now um exonerated is white roll the tape when things happen to you you step up and defend yourself. Just like everybody else seeks justice on their own, just like everybody else has
Starting point is 00:05:24 vigilantes, we need some black vigilantes. That's right. People want to jump up and choke us and kill us for being loud. How about we do the same when they attempt to oppress us? And if you look on social media, and you look at the hatred spewed across against us, against black people, against a man who was sick, because when there's a crisis of drugs in America, I'm sorry, it's only a crisis when it's a white person, an opioid crisis. Jordan was labeled a drug addict and labeled a crackhead. The only crime that Jordan Neely was guilty of was the color of his skin. Well, that's false.
Starting point is 00:06:09 the victim, Jordan Neely, 42 arrests, including a conviction. He beat up an elderly woman in East Greenwich Village, Lower Manhattan. He punched her in the face. She's 67, broke her nose, fractured her orbital bone. Okay? So these race hustlers, they lie. And what they're trying to do is pit black against white or whatever the case may be. They're despicable, absolutely despicable. The good news is it does not
Starting point is 00:06:47 seem like the African-American community in New York City is rallying to their cause. We have not seen that. I suspect it's because African-Americans are just like everybody else in New York City, they're subject to being terrorized. They know what it's like. They know there are people. People like Jordan Neely with 42 arrests, who's obviously mentally ill, obviously, who just walks around. I mean, listen to this. Listen to this. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Neely pleaded guilty to beating up the 67-year-old woman. Here's a sentence, 15-month alternative to incarceration program where he was supposed to show up to a facility in the Bronx. All right. Two weeks he didn't show up. Two weeks he showed up, then never saw him again. Walking around, terrorizing people, taking drugs, nobody's looking for him. Nobody. They could have found him. He was very visible in the subways. They don't care. That's New York City, run by progressives. Don't care.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Now, Neely's father is suing Daniel Penny. It's not going anywhere. Okay? But Neely's father should be suing New York City and New York State for failing to supervise an obviously dangerous, mentally ill person. There are thousands of them, not only in New York City, but in Chicago, L.A., Baltimore, Atlanta, on and on and on, you must isolate these people to protect the innocent. It's so despicable.
Starting point is 00:08:52 And they use this. Now, I'm keeping my eye on Sharpton. You haven't heard a word out of Sharpton. All right? He's too busy counting the $500,000 that Kamala gave him under the table for nothing. It takes a long time to count that much money. Sharpton, he's the prima rase provocateur in New York. He didn't say anything.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Sharpton's on the run, okay, he knows he's in trouble. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver. Through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford Gold. Starting point is 00:10:28 Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my show every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. Starting point is 00:10:57 You can find us at Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. So that's probably why he's keeping a little profile. but I don't expect this to go any further than today. Okay, third legal case, this is a civil case, Donald Trump suing CBS News. I'm not going to get into the weeds here, but it's basically the Trump campaign and Donald Trump himself believes that CBS News took an interview with Kamala Harris and edited it in a way to make Ms. Harris look better than what she actually said. They filed this civil lawsuit in Texas in a conservative part of the state. The CBS lawyers are trying to get it thrown out on First Amendment.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Now, do I think that Donald Trump's going to win this lawsuit? No, because it'll be appealed all over the place in First Amendment. It's pretty tough to get through. But what is important here, and what I think President Trump wants, is to CBS News to put that transcript out, which it refuses to do. Because if they did indeed edit that interview to make Kamala Harris look better, CBS News is shot, finished. That's what I think is in play.
Starting point is 00:12:18 All right. So that is the justice system as it stands now. Biden administration, this is an unbelievable story that got no coverage at all. This is why you watch the No Spin News. and listen to it on the radio. So Biden, unbeknown, nobody knows why, allows Iran to access another $10 billion in frozen assets. Because of the sanctions against Iran,
Starting point is 00:12:48 much of the money the mullers have parked in Switzerland, other places, was frozen. The government of Iran couldn't get it. Why? Because it's the biggest state sponsorship of terrorism. terrorism in the world. Iran. Millions have died because of Iran. So Biden goes, on November 7th, two days after he lost, why don't we give Iran another 10 billion? All told, Biden has freed up $100 billion to the mullahs. Why? They're building a nuke. Why? They're killing
Starting point is 00:13:30 people all over the place. And you give them $100 billion, you're freeing it up? Now, that doesn't our money, but they're unfreezing the accounts. For what reason? Biden didn't say a word. Now, Biden's the second worst president in American history, as I chronicle in my book confronting the president. But he's the worst in foreign policy, because James Buchanan, who gets the worst President Mantle by a lot, okay? There was no foreign policy back in 1856 to speak of. Biden's the worst. This is not even close. It is not even, Lyndon Johnson, pretty bad. Vietnam and all that. Biden's worse. Again, $100 billion to the mullahs? For what? And Iran goes, it's for humanitarian age. You know, when I think of Iran, I'm thinking
Starting point is 00:14:25 inhumanitarian, aren't you? Unbelievable. But the real outrage of this is, but never explains anything. Open border? All right, joining us now is Rebecca Koffler from New York City. She is the author of the book, Putin's Playbook, Russia's Secret Plan to Defeat America.
Starting point is 00:14:47 She is a specialist in defense intelligence. All right, so am I, am I, fair to Biden here? Am I overstating this Iran thing? You're 100% on target, Bill. It is absurd. The type of policy that Team Biden is pursuing is not only absurd and incompetent, it severely undermines U.S. national security. How so? You correctly pointed out that Iran is running a nuclear program. Well, where does all this money go to, whether it's the $6 billion that Biden unfroze last year for them or this recent unfreezing, so to speak, it is financing Iran's war machine. And Iran's war machine is basically an asymmetric warfare time.
Starting point is 00:15:53 of machine. What do I mean by that? Iran is running a broad network of proxy terrorist groups that includes Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iranians are training and equipping and funding these groups that eventually, and even currently, they pose a threat both to the United States and to the world. Right, Hezbollah Hamas and all that. Exactly. We combed to find some explanation from Secretary of St. Blinken or National Security Advisor Sullivan or Kamala Harris or Joe Biden, nothing, no explanation whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Have you in your research, did they ever explain why they're $100 billion? dollars they're handing it to them to the mullahs did they ever explain it my my intelligence analysis suggests that the biden administration is compromised by iranian operatives remember there's such an initiative the so-called iranian expert uh initiative that basically was working with high-level positions across the biden administration Robert Amali, who was Biden's special envoy for Iran, right? His security clearance was suspended along with security clearances of some other operatives. There's an individual still in the Department of Defense.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And those, I would even call them assets. They're foreign intelligence assets because they are corresponding directly with Iranian foreign foreign ministry officials. So that is my primary hypothesis. My secondary hypothesis is the 10% for the big guy. I just never trust. Yeah, but we don't want to make, unless you have some backup for that, that's, I don't want to do that. I mean, we're, we're fact based, but there's something shady going on. I, I, I, I, there's something shady going on. Right. Okay, let's go to Ukraine. So, um, Biden basically, it took him a while. but under pressure, he sent an enormous amount of U.S. money over there, military aid and
Starting point is 00:18:24 humanitarian aid, and got nowhere with Putin at all. Is that an accurate statement? Putin, nothing. You didn't get any kind of dialogue with him, no concessions, and it looks like Trump is going to get some kind of deal. But again, that's not a fact. I've talked to the president myself about it, so I can say with confidence that he believes he'll get a deal. whether he does or not, I don't know. But Biden got nowhere. Am I right? Correct. Not only Biden hasn't gotten anywhere, it is on Biden's watch that half a million of Ukrainians are dead or gravely wounded.
Starting point is 00:19:04 50% of Ukrainians' infrastructure, critical infrastructure, is destroyed right now, which means that this winter they're going to be freezing in darkness. and that is because this war was never winnable for Ukraine. How so? From the combat potential standpoint, combat potential is calculated by a combination of weapon systems, armed forces, the defense industrial basis capacity to scale up in defense economics. Russia just overmatches Ukraine hands down.
Starting point is 00:19:45 It always has. I know, but we had to stop Putin and we inflicted tremendous pain on Putin. Not only us, but NATO and all. You just can't let him just run rough shot over these countries. But I have one more question for you. If a stronger leader, I don't think Putin, Trump says this all the time, and I think he's right. Putin would have not done that if Trump with the president, because Trump would have really hurt Putin much more so than Biden did.
Starting point is 00:20:13 All right. So Sullivan is over in the Middle East, desperately trying to get the hostages released from Hamas' control before Biden leaves office. That is priority number one. So Biden's going out a loser, but he wants to have one victory before he goes. Do you believe that that will happen, the release of the hostages? Well, we know that Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel's defense minister are working very, very hard on making that deal. The problem is that Hamas is like playing games as usual, and Hamas does not want to release nearly the number of hostages that they're holding. Right now, there's still about 100 hostages that they're holding. So it's going to depend. We need to let the Israelis do their job and not micromanage the war. You know, as Biden has been doing calling for ceasefire, this and that.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Well, that's not going to happen. But I understand from reliable sources that a lot of the hostages are dead. It's not numbers in close to 100 now. A lot of them have died. But again, it's Iran that could make it happen. so Iran tells Hamas release those hostages or we're cutting you off from everything
Starting point is 00:21:37 they're remorse would have to do it they're like gangs last word well if you want to put pressure on Hamas unfreezing billions of dollars is not the right that's not the way to do it leverage you need to gain leverage over them it's just I'm a historian as you know I have never seen stuff like this in my lifetime
Starting point is 00:21:59 and you know I go back to George Washington As far as our researchers, never seen anything like this. Rebecca, thanks very much to Butch again, is Putin's playbook. And if you're interested in Foreign Affairs, that's a good read. Okay, drone madness update. Don't have much for you, and this is another insane thing. I mean, to me, I don't know anything about drones. I can barely put gas in my car.
Starting point is 00:22:22 But if I'm the governor or I'm the head of Homeland Security, I just shoot them down and then I get them, and I look at them and say, who owns them? You know, they can find out. Just blast them out of the sky or get a big net or whatever they do. All right? Well, we don't know. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:40 How long is this going to go on? You don't know. Governor Jersey doesn't know. Governor New York doesn't know. Mayorkis doesn't. Oh, we don't know. It shows you the incompetence. The incompetent.
Starting point is 00:22:54 It's just incompetent. It won't tell us what it is. They got to know something. They just don't appear. Somebody shoots them up there. Find them out, who? Is that hard? It doesn't seem to be hard.
Starting point is 00:23:08 But I don't have anything hard news for you. We're watching it. Speculation is stupid. I know they do it on a cable show. Well, it could be. We don't do that. Not going to waste of time. Madonna, talking about a waste of time.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Madonna is top of the list, cultural madness. So on Friday, she puts out pictures, and they're very offensive. So if you're easily offended, you don't want to just turn away. I'm only going to keep them up there for five seconds, all right. But this is Madonna, the singer-intertainer. Throw the pictures up there. And they show the Pope and her.
Starting point is 00:23:45 This is AI. All right, take them off. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the world, of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:24:05 It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, lawmakers, and even the president of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. All right, so this is a provocative thing because the woman is desperate for attention. That's what she wants attention, puts it out on the internet. Following media picked it up, New York Post, Us Weekly, Independent, Mira, TMZ, Daily Mail, Times of India, the Sun Newsweek, Premier Christian News, I'm sure they criticized it, Economic Times, and they picked it up. Okay. So, if Madonna had done that with an imam, a fatwa would have been issued and her life would be in danger. If she had done that with a rabbi, a rabbi, she'd been anti-Semitic.
Starting point is 00:25:47 If she had taken any minority group and done that, she would never work again in the entertainment industry. but she can mock the Pope and she can be sacrilegious to Christians, nothing will happen to her. But don't forget it. I won't. Secretary of State Blinken finally shows up to the House Foreign Affairs Committee because if he didn't, he was going to be held in contempt of Congress. They wanted to grill him on the embarrassment of the surrender in Afghanistan, which has led to all kinds of horror to the United States. all over the world, as Biden showed weakness. Here's what a portion of what Lincoln said. Go.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Even the U.S. government's most pessimistic assessments did not anticipate that the Afghan government and security forces would collapse so rapidly in the face of Taliban advances. Nevertheless, because of the administration's extensive interagency planning coordination, when Kabul fell on August 15th, the United States was able to evacuate our embassy and relocate our diplomats to the airport within 48 hours and then conduct the largest airlift in U.S. history, helping approximately 120,000 Americans, Afghans, and citizens of allied nations depart Afghanistan in just two weeks. What a bunch of bull. I mean, everybody remembers the pictures of the people hanging off the
Starting point is 00:27:15 planes. You know, some of them died of the 18 military, U.S. military people who were killed. it was a 13 or 18, you know, everybody remembers, and that didn't have to happen. So Donald Trump had a deal with the Taliban, and the deal was, you don't shoot at Americans, and we won't shoot at you. 18 months. We had our strength in Bagram Air Base, where I spent some time. I know the Turk. There was no threat to Bagram.
Starting point is 00:27:52 by the Taliban. They couldn't do anything because we had our air power, helicopter power, way more than a Taliban had. But when Biden signaled that he was going to surrender to the Taliban, which is what he did, the president of Afghanistan bolted out of there with all kinds of money. Okay. And that's send the signal to the Afghan army. We better get out of our uniform. or we're going to be executed. And that's what happened. Biden caused that. The Taliban were not going to overrun U.S. forces. Now, we had to get out of there. Trump knew we had to get out of there, but you do it in an orderly way. And I never would have given up Bogrom, ever. That would have remained in U.S. hands to make sure that there were no atrocities by the Taliban. And that would
Starting point is 00:28:49 have been it. That's the deal. You don't like it? Too bad. We weren't losing anybody. As I said, Trump had a deal in place, 18 months, no U.S. casualties. And Biden comes in and goes, we give up, goodbye. And then all hell breaks lists. And this is blinking, oh, we did this, we do it. And you'll remember the worst ever was Biden in one of his few comments about this going, no, no, it was excellent.
Starting point is 00:29:16 No, we had a great job. Billions of dollars of American armaments went to. to the terrorist Taliban. Billions. Yeah, that's great. And that's why Biden go down in history is the second worst president ever. Don't believe me, just pick up confronting the president.
Starting point is 00:29:35 They back it up 50 ways. Okay, what else have we got for you tonight? Media madness, believable media. Okay, New York Times finally reports accurately on the illegal immigration catastrophe. Finally, now they had this story. They could have reported it last year. What do they report yesterday?
Starting point is 00:30:02 All right, quote, annual net migration number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving. Average 2.4 million people from 21 and 23, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Total net migration during the Biden administration now likely to exceed 8 million people. That's a faster pace of arrivals than during any other period on record, including the peak years of Ellis Island traffic when millions of Europeans came to the United States.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Even after taking into account today's larger U.S. population, the recent surge is the most rapid since at least 1850, New York Times, December 11. Why? Why? Has Biden ever explained it? No. Not one time. Why? Why? And with all of the horror that we have experienced as a nation because of it, again, get, boy, when he leaves, happy day. And just in facts, 60% of the migrants that are in the USA now are here illegally, according to a Goldman Sachs study. All right? America's foreign-born population, 15%. Highest number ever, up from 13% in 2020.
Starting point is 00:31:26 You see the damage this guy is done, by it. Now, it's not bad to have immigrants here. We all know that's a good thing, because they work very hard and they contribute. But unsupervised, that's when you have crime and terrorism. So anyway, New York Times finally gets it. Okay. Drone hysteria. I live right off the Long Island Sound and is a drone. Okay. And everybody's going, what's that? And then in Jersey, there are scores of them just floating around. Nobody knows. FAA, Governor New Jersey, I don't know. And so the media jumps in. Oh, it's It's Iran. It's China.
Starting point is 00:32:19 It's not any of that. I remember when I was six years old, I went to the Westbury movie theater in Long Island. I saw invaders from Mars, scared of it, bejesus out of it. So this guy comes down from Mars, got a giant head, nobody, they am in a jar, and he hypnotizes people. That's what I think this is. I think there's invaders from Mars. too. Now, I'm laughing about it, but there's something behind it. So let's get it. You know, take those drones down, look at them, trace it back. Is that hard? And the media is just
Starting point is 00:33:02 out of their minds about this. Okay, I got a lot of mail on this Luigi Mangione, why he has not been charged with first-degree murder in New York City for the assassin. nation of United Health Care CEO Brian Thompson. You remember the story December 4th. Okay, it is a technical thing. So in New York State, there's no difference between first-degree murder and second-degree murder as far as sentencing is concerned. You can get life without parole.
Starting point is 00:33:37 They classify it first-degree murder when you kill a judge, a cop, a state official, an act of terrorism, something like that. It's just a paper thing. So Luigi Mangione will never see the light of freedom again. 26 years old, this nut, and he is a nut. All right, he's mentally ill. If you saw him in Pennsylvania being taken into custody, you gotta know that.
Starting point is 00:34:07 In fact, every single assassin that I've ever written about and there's four of them in confronting the presidents, And then there are a couple of would-be assassins. They've all been mentally ill. Because you're basically throwing your life away. And then, you know, the ancillary things about, you know, health care, insurance companies are the devil. Bub, blah, blah, blah, blah, the far left, as we talked about yesterday, is exploiting that. We know that.
Starting point is 00:34:35 But this is the truth. The TikTok idiots who are justifying this assassination, they're as mentally ill as the assassins. And they never would have been heard from 10 years ago. But now they get a forum, and now the media takes that and runs while with it. There aren't many of those people. Most Americans notice is not acceptable, and this guy never should be free again. And that's the truth. San Diego Sheriff, and that's an interesting story, Kelly Martinez,
Starting point is 00:35:10 With the San Diego Police Department, Sheriff's Department, 39 years, she's the chief. She says, hey, we're not obeying the county supervisors saying that we shouldn't cooperate with Homeland Security. We're not. The Sheriff's Department of San Diego is going to cooperate with ICE. We don't care what the county commissioners say. Good for you, Sheriff. I'm going to try to get her on next week. So we reported yesterday, county commissioners and loons, all right, far-left people,
Starting point is 00:35:47 oh, we're not to cooperate with the criminal investigations, not just regular migrants. These are criminals. We're not giving ICE anything. Sheriff's, yeah, we are. Yeah, we are. Now, I'm interesting to see what the San Diego Police Department does. So the sheriff covers the county, and this is a county thing. But we're on it.
Starting point is 00:36:12 And again, I'll reiterate any public official that interferes of the federal investigation should be arrested. Donald Trump names Ron Johnson, not the senator, just a common name, to be the ambassador to Mexico City. Johnson is one tough SOB. And that's why he's going down. He was the ambassador to El Salvador and helped the government down there. defeat MS-13. Now he's going to Mexico City, and he's going to tell President a shine bomb, Claudia, you better cooperate. You better put the military on the northern southern borders. You know, we're breaking you economically. Now, I still think that President
Starting point is 00:37:00 Trump should declare the cartels terrorist organizations, because Mexico is never going to go after them. Once the executive order is signed, we can kill them. And we should. I don't even believe in a death penalty, by the way. But when you have evil killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, as these cartels are, with the importation of the fentanyl and narcotics, you've got to stop them. You don't talk to them. And we know where they are. Boom. We get them a week. you get out of the business you got one week pack it up no more and if you don't you'll vapor so anyway johnson's going down there now i got a letter from a concierge member very sad letter his son died from huffing i didn't even know what huffing was okay so huffing is uh an air duster
Starting point is 00:38:00 so they're household chemicals that are used for cleaning and these drug addicts put them in a jar or a handkerchief or whatever and they inhale them and they get high and this guy died this guy's son and he wants me to tell everybody that this is very dangerous you don't have to go buy this stuff from a drug dealer or anything like that it's around on the internet of course shows you how to do it shows you how to kill yourself But if your parent, you have young children, I mean, young and teens, you know, you ought to know, air duster, okay? Fumes and vapors that you inhale and they get people high, boy. So there's a Florida couple, has a home in Michoacan, Mexico on the Pacific coast, about five hours of Mexico City. All right, and they're dead. They got murdered. They had a home down there.
Starting point is 00:39:03 They went down there to get out of the winter, and they're dead. And Rafael Cardona and his wife, Gloria Cardona. Raphael's 53 was Gloria's 50. And the murder's not going to be solved. Nobody's going to look at them. So if you're going to vacation in Mexico, if you're thinking about buying property in Mexico, no one is going to protect you.
Starting point is 00:39:29 No one. Smart Life 7. 72% of Americans hope to avoid discussing politics at Christmas celebrations. According to the American Psychological Association, okay? 32% say, we want to do it. Don't invite them. Boot them. So we went over this for Thanksgiving, you know, appropriate.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Keep a sense of humor. But don't get it to political arguments on Christmas. Come on. Here is the final thought of the day. So I'm going to celebrate my 50th year in the media in January. First job was WNEP TV Scranton, Pennsylvania. I don't think there are any clips of me because it was filmed then. It wasn't videotape.
Starting point is 00:40:19 And then I went to Dallas, WFAA TV. And in November, 1975, I did a Christmas story on WFIAA, Moly. At this class, the five would-be helpers are all graduate drama students at SMU. In simulated instruction, the applicants are told to look good, sound good, and most of all, be relaxed. And I'd like a football game. And I'd like a pony. Those who pass a Santa course can look forward to earning $3 an hour and pleasing a lot of kids. The outfit is provided, and the hours are flexible.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Because of the abundance of good little kids this year, Santa needs a lot of helpers. At this school, at least 30 more Santas will have to be recruited. So if you're looking for a little extra cash, you might consider being part of the Christmas spirit. Santa could use the help. Bill O'Reilly, Channel 8 News at the Santa School in North Dallas. Do you check that hair out? I thought I was Saturday Night Fever back then. Did you check that hair out?
Starting point is 00:41:22 And the voice is a little distorted because SMU has a whole archive. of Channel 8 stories. So did you catch you $3 an hour they're going to pay you to be Santa? Three bucks an hour. Now I was like, I think Santa's making $25. Anyway, I value my career very much. And you got to work your way up, okay?
Starting point is 00:41:49 So I had to get a haircut for my next job, which was Denver, okay, at KMGH TV. I went from Dallas to Denver to anchor the weekend news. just a reporter in Dallas. And they didn't like me very much in Dallas anyway. Cocky, Yankee, you know, Texans. I liked Dallas. I had a good time. The summers are brutal. But, you know what a New York guy, all that kind of stuff was going on. So then I got a better job at the CBS affiliate in Denver and I was there for two years. And it just goes back to Aurora and that's
Starting point is 00:42:24 where I lived and all that. So the value of my career was. that I lived all over, every time zone, the United States, got to know the communities, worked my way up, no uncle in the business, all right, nobody giving me any nepo or any of that, you know, and I earned it. And I got to New York City, WCBS, in five years. And I did pretty well there at Channel 2 in New York. And then I went to the networks and all of that. So somebody I've got to write about all this. I'm trying to do it in a way that it's not, oh, and I did this, and I did that, and I'll figure it out. But in January, it'll be 50 years.
Starting point is 00:43:08 That haircut, I've got to make an excuse for that. All the mirrors in my home were broken. No, nobody's buying that. Anyway, that was the disco era, just the beginning of the disco era back then. So I'll have long hair. Thank you very much for watching. We'll see tomorrow.
