Starting point is 00:00:00 This Friday. May I speak freely? I prefer English. The Naked Gun is the most fun you can have in theaters. Yeah, let's go! Without getting arrested. Is he serious? Is he serious?
Starting point is 00:00:12 He's... no. The Naked Gun. Only in theaters Friday. Jolene Maxwell, she was Epstein's consort, sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, she's in Florida, for sex trafficking in her state and they were in the Virgin Islands and all that. She did it. She deserves the 20 years. So now the Justice Department wants to re-interview her. I don't have any objection to that. If she knows something that didn't come forth in the trial, which is pretty hard to believe, I mean, her defense lawyer is trying to get her off, so whatever she knew would be out there.
Starting point is 00:01:00 But if the Justice Department wants to go and talk to her again, okay. But I'm not expecting much here. It's another attempt by the Trump administration to tamp down the story. And that's understandable because the story, the Epstein story is way out of control, is being used for partisan purposes to damage Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:01:30 And so you would expect his people to fight back. The key to this story, if you care, and I know a lot of Americans don't care, but that's not an indicator on what should happen. Justice is the indicator. The key to the story is the grand jury testimony. Can be released by the judge in DC. He should release it to restore faith in the Justice Department. Take out the names that are not criminally involved, redact them. Let it out. Let the folks see it. That's the way to resolve. But anyway, we're not
Starting point is 00:02:09 going to speculate. If you watch the stupid, dopey cable TV news programs tonight, they'll be saying all this crazy stuff. None of it will come true. So if you want to waste your time, that's a good agenda there. My talking points memo is about the American media, which is a tremendously important story that is under-reported. And here is the headline. The corporate media has fallen apart,
Starting point is 00:02:39 and Donald Trump is responsible. No matter what happens to the president from now on, he alone destroyed the corporate left-wing media in America. One man, Donald Trump, never been done before, never been close before. And he didn't do it by active actions. He did it because they hate him so much they over did it. And the American people, even those who don't like Trump, go look we know what the game is. So let me run it down
Starting point is 00:03:12 for you. Trump has crushed the media and it's an important story because coming up the next election the Democrats will not have the left-wing media behind them as they did with Barack Obama and Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. They had the left-wing media in all three of those cases. That's gone. Now, yes, the CNNs of the world will still be there. NBC will still be there, and they'll be rooting for the Democrats. But they're not nearly as powerful as they were.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Okay? That's the headline, that this affects directly presidential politics in this country. No longer will there be a left-wing stranglehold. So the situation blew up with this dope Stephen Colbert getting fired by CBS because CBS is selling itself, Paramount owns it, to Skydance, which is not a liberal corporation. So there are going to be a wipeout and Colbert is number one but I that if I'm working for CBS I'm looking for another job. Skydance is going to go in and wipe out everybody because it's a corrupt operation. CBS News, no doubt about it. We all know that and that lawsuit that
Starting point is 00:04:42 they settled with Donald Trump, they were actively rooting for Kamala Harris, CBS. And anybody who denies that is simply not telling you the truth. They were actively rooting for her. A whole network. You can't do that unless you say it up front. If they were to say, okay we're rooting for Kamala Harris, our whole network is gonna try to get her elected. All right, you still got First Amendment protections, but that's not what they do, as you know. Okay, so last night Bernie Goldberg appeared on the No Spin News.
Starting point is 00:05:13 That was a really good back and forth about why Colbert and the other lefties are in so much financial trouble. No, why would you hire Stephen Colbert when 80 million people voted for Donald Trump? And not one of those people are ever going to watch Stephen Colbert. Why would you hire him? You know, Michael Jordan famously said he was asked to endorse a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And he said, you know, Republicans buy sneakers too. It's as if these people don't understand that Republicans have TV sets too, that Republicans watch television too. No, but ideology, it's hard to believe but it's true. Ideology and the corporate media has overtaken profit motive. It's stunning. Okay, last night Stephen Colbert, he's milking it but he's toast. He's gone.
Starting point is 00:06:23 I don't think he's going to last till May by the way. That's what they said. It'll be last till May. He'll be gone way before that. Here's whatking it, but he's toast, he's gone. I don't think he's gonna last till May, by the way. That's what they said, he'll be gone way before that. Here's what he said, go. With those numbers, I gotta say, it makes sense. We'd be canceled, I get it, guys. And thanks again, okay? Thanks again to the network. In a completely unrelated story,
Starting point is 00:06:39 on Friday, Donald Trump posted, I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. How dare you. How, how, how dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f*** yourself. Anyway. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Anyway. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. So if Colbert had said go f*** yourself to Barack Obama he would have been off the air. That show never would have run because they tape it. But he did.
Starting point is 00:07:22 He did. He did. He did. Thank you. So if Colbert had said, go eff yourself to Barack Obama, he would have been off the air. That show never would have run because they tape it before. He had done it to Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Done. He never would have done it. But he can do that to Donald Trump. And they ran it.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So that just tells you what CBS is. It's not Donald Trump, it's the office. Respect for the office. You don't do that. Anyway, Colbert is just digging the ditch deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper. Okay. So, the reporting was that Colbert's show loses 40 million. That's hyperbole. He
Starting point is 00:08:05 doesn't lose that much, but he loses about 20-25 million and they're paying him about 15, so he's out. Now for the future, I made a prediction this morning. The view is going to realign. Now I could be wrong. I'm not wrong too much. All right, you know that. We document my predictions mostly come true. I predicted Colbert would be out before they made the announcement. The view, and I don't have any inside information here, but I know the business as well as anybody.
Starting point is 00:08:38 So the view makes a little bit of money, not much. About the same amount of people watch the view as watch Colbert, two million plus, a little bit more. They go on hiatus for about five or six weeks, The View. It's either next week or August 1st, something like that. Now when they come back, it's going to be a totally different show. You can't fire Whoopi Goldberg unless she wants to quit and then it'll be Whoopi wants to leave.
Starting point is 00:09:02 You've got a raceful component there. And Miss Goldberg is a very, very powerful media presence. You just can't fire her. Joy Behar is what, 82 years old? Yeah, she can retire and will. So I'm assuming Behar will not be there in September. And then what they'll do is they'll reconfigure, they gotta get rid of this Anna Navarro,
Starting point is 00:09:24 she's a hater, just like Behar is. And they've got to kind of reconfigure it. We say, well, Disney is going to have to do that. Now, if I'm wrong, I'm going to run this clip and tell you I was wrong. But I can't see it. Hey, Mike Baker here, host of the President's Daily Brief podcast. If you want straight talk on national security, foreign policy and the biggest global stories going on of the day, this is the show for you.
Starting point is 00:09:53 We publish twice a day, Monday through Friday, once in the morning, again in the afternoon. And on the weekend, we go longer with the PDB Situation Report with excellent guests, including national security insiders and foreign policy experts. Check us out on Spotify, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts. Also on our YouTube channel at Presidents Daily Brief. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's
Starting point is 00:10:28 what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast, listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. I can't see it. Is he going with that any longer? And then when Skydance takes over, which I don't know exactly when that's going to be, but it's coming up fast. CBS, totally different. And that's a memory.
Starting point is 00:10:59 All right, joining us now is one of our favorite guests. He's in South Dakota where he is rehearsing to be Wild Bill Hickok. His name is Brett Tallman. Check the beard out on Tallman. He's a former U.S. attorney for Utah. He's the head of the Tallman Group now. I know he's the federal justice department as well as anybody does. Okay, so this is a busy day for the feds, and I want to run it down very methodically with you. The Epstein situation overall, do you have any thoughts on it? Yeah, I think we're going to be underwhelmed
Starting point is 00:11:40 if they do release the transcript. It's my prediction that even the grand jury transcript is going to be singularly focused along the lines of what the charges were. And the charges were very, very centered on Epstein's conduct and Galen Maxwell and the individuals that he assaulted and I think that's going to be the bulk of what that grand jury transcript is going to give us. And I think as a result, I don't think there's going to be much satisfaction if they are released. All right, so you don't have to expect any revelation,
Starting point is 00:12:18 but surely in the indictment presented to the grand jurors and the evidence, if there were other people involved, those names would be front and center, right? You would, you know, Bill, I scratched my head at this because if you were doing the investigation properly, you would have included all the other John Doe's and you would have named them. You would have named them and revealed them to your CM.
Starting point is 00:12:44 And there wasn't a defense lawyer there. The government just presented a case, but if they want you would have named them. You would have named them and revealed them to the CM. There wasn't a defense lawyer there. The government just presented a case, but if they want to do a conspiracy case, there's got to be other people. Do you expect these two judges to put it out? I don't know if there's any resistance to putting it out. Do you expect them to put it out? You know, it's a great question.
Starting point is 00:13:03 They could hang it on a technicality if they don't feel like the government has met the burden of the interest, the public interest in it, but I can't imagine the judge. How could that possibly be? Everybody's, you know, trying to tie it in as public interest is through the roof. How could they possibly say that? Would they be laughed off the bench?
Starting point is 00:13:22 I think they would, and I think it would do more harm than good. Let it out, let the people see it, and let us get past and beyond it. Okay, let's get to Brennan and the Tulsi-Gabbert drop, declassification. Do you agree with me that John Brennan's in trouble? I do agree. I do agree. I do agree. I think John Brennan, especially if you look at what was released today, the additional documents that were released, Brennan had direct involvement in the conspiracy and in
Starting point is 00:13:57 the decision making to put out, I mean, look at what we know. He put out not just a bad report. He fabricated the support that would be necessary in order to get others on board. I would say, Bill, I also would include, though, a couple of things that we learned today that may be trouble for Clapper and may be trouble for Jim Comey.
Starting point is 00:14:24 It was the FBI, we now know, that insisted on the Steele dossier being included as support for the ICA. That was on the FBI. But what if what if Comey didn't know that the Russian collusion stuff was bogus? You know, that's why I ran in. Brandon knew. But what if Comey didn't know, as I said, there's not a lot of back and forth between the CIA and FBI. I agree. And that's why I think your point is one I've tried
Starting point is 00:14:53 to make, which is open a grander investigation, then issue your subpoenas to Comey and to others where you're not sure or you're on the fence on or you're not, you don't know what they knew when they knew it, and force them to testify and force them to actually answer the tough questions and find out, you know, what happened. And I don't think they can get that without a grand jury subpoena
Starting point is 00:15:20 and requiring them to appear in front of a court. So that you would bring them before a grand jury, and the Justice Department would then ask them specific questions about their participation. And if those questions were not answered in an effective way by them, then they could be indicted, right? That's correct. Then you could bring that 1001 charge.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Would you call Senator Schiff in? I would, yes, absolutely. I think you're the first one I've heard say this, but right now I would be focusing on Schiff because he has told so many lies and he's gonna have a real hard time when he's under oath. Yeah, 50- So that should be top priority.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Yeah, he's the guy that said, oh, I have different proof. I'm gonna show it. Of course he never did. Okay, so that's the pathway to getting, holding people accountable who may have, and we wanna emphasize, and Talman is on board with this, that we're not convicting these people.
Starting point is 00:16:24 I mean, we're giving you the evidence that's been presented today by declassification. They're entitled to do process and they're entitled to have a lawyer. Although when you do present in front of a grand jury, as you have many times, Brett, you don't get a defense lawyer defending you. You can't take the fifth, right? You do not get your lawyer. What's interesting is they can take the fifth in the grand jury. And if they do take the fifth in the grand jury, then the Department
Starting point is 00:16:55 of Justice can force them, through giving them limited immunity, can force them to actually testify. So it's a very limited, you know, use of the Fifth Amendment. Depending on what the government does to them. Right. Okay. The immunity factor is interesting. All right. Okay, so the big three would be Brennan, I guess, Comey, and Schiff.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Now, Clapper is not mentioned in the drop today by Tulsi Gabbard. Is he? Is he? There's a, what happens is Clapper actually adds a statement vouching for the veracity of the support for the ICA. And that's an interesting thing to me. All right, so he just said he thinks it was true. Correct. And he was the director of national intelligence.
Starting point is 00:17:43 He held, he held the same position that Gabbard holds now. Okay. All right. Would you please? I would at least question him. I would at least question him and find out what he did. No downside. You know, why did you come to that conclusion? Who told you that?
Starting point is 00:17:57 Did you see documents? Did you know about these phony documents? The documents that were unsubstantiated? All those questions you'd be asked at the opera. Would you do me a favor and just follow this for us? Cause I'm not smart enough to do it all by myself. So I really appreciate it. I will follow it closely.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Yeah, this is big. Can't have elections subverted. You just can't. All right, let's get on to sanctuary cities. Now in New York, terrible thing happened over the weekend. I'm sure you know about it. There was an ICE agent, border patrol guy, shot in the face, two muggers,
Starting point is 00:18:31 zipped up to him, demanded they shot him. And then he shot one of them or the cops did and whatever. And those muggers are migrant criminals who had been charged and released at least four times each by New York authorities, and they did not tell ICE that they had them in custody. What can the federal government do to New York City in this case? Well, immediately the Department of Justice can file for injunctive relief, meaning they file an action to enjoin them from taking some of the conduct that they are, which is
Starting point is 00:19:13 in essence they're aiding and abetting or assisting in the harboring of fugitives. Now they can file the injunction because I think it puts everyone on notice that the feds are not going to mess around. The other thing now when you say file an injunction most people including me don't really understand what that entails. So they they can in an essence invalidate the rules that the city has passed making it a sanctuary city allowing it to operate under the guise of law by arguing that the rules they've passed violate the Supremacy Clause, for example, and other laws. That hasn't been done after all of this time? No.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Oh my God. Now say they do that and they invalidate the sanctuary city law in New York and other cities and the mayors and the police chiefs still don't uphold the law. Can they arrest the mayors and the police chiefs? And they can and they should be arrested and it should happen swiftly and unapologetically. Yeah. All right. That's another story we want to... And that falls under Pam Bondii now she's got to start to take action against these sanctuary places. Finally, what's your opinion of introducing
Starting point is 00:20:34 TurboTax business a brand new way to file your own T2 return all while getting help from an expert who actually knows small businesses got a tattoo tattoo studio? I'm Piers Morgan, the host of the Piers Morgan Uncensored podcast. We do big interviews and we do big debates about whatever's getting people talking. We make news, we make noise, and we make a little bit of trouble too.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Come and see what all the fuss is about. You can listen to Piers Morgan Uncensored on Apple podcast, Spotify, Amazon Music, or wherever you get your podcasts. Patel and Bongino and the FBI, I mean, I'm hearing very mixed things about these guys, that they're political appointees above all. They're not real crime fighters. What do you what do you think? I know Cash Patel and I have a lot of respect for him. I don't know Dan as well.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I know he had served honorably and there's many that speak highly, but I will tell you the one thing that I gauge, I like to gauge the approval or the performance of these folks in these positions. I have a lot of friends in the FBI and I ask them, you know, what's your impression? What are the thoughts? What are people saying? And what's fascinating about Cash Patel at the helm is there's a sense that the agents on the ground feel like someone has their back. And there's also a sense that they're pushing the FBI
Starting point is 00:22:25 back towards violent crime and investigating that. And if those two things are accurate, then I think they've improved the situation and I'm more- The morale is up. Yeah, I have friends in the Bureau as well. And the morale is up and they dumped a whole bunch of political people out of Washington
Starting point is 00:22:44 and they transferred them to Tulsa and Butte. They punished people who they feel are quote unquote suspects. Suspect, not suspects for a crime, suspect. All right, Brad, very nice of you to help us during your summer vacation and you're going to be our go-to guy on all of this your summer vacation and you're gonna be our go-to guy on all of this subversion of the election, alleged subversion, we really appreciate your time tonight. Trump on his social media thing is celebrating the demise of Stephen Colbert. You guys know what I think of him.
Starting point is 00:23:21 I wrote a column on it. It's on billowreilly.com. By the way, you don't need premium members to read the message of the column. Just go there and read it for everybody. You know, I was on late night 75 times in my career. I think it's a record. I mean, maybe Jackie Mason or Shecky Green beat me,
Starting point is 00:23:37 or Robin Williams was on the line. And I know these guys. And Colbert, of all of them, he's my least favorite. Because he was in it to harm people with whom he disagrees. That's what he was in it for. Stewart's in it for comedy, satire. He's left. But I never saw him, you know, really want to hurt anybody. Same thing,
Starting point is 00:24:08 I mean, Letterman was rough, he was rough. If you Google O'Reilly Letterman, you'll see some shootouts. Leno and Kimmel didn't used to be political, but he hates Trump. And so he's crossed over. But anyway, Colbert is canceled. and there's two reasons why. Number one, CBS is being sold to a conservative, more conservative corporation called Skydance. And number two, the Colbert show lost $40 million last year. Why? Because Colbert is not funny anymore, will it take? At this point, Trump isn't even trying to hide his awfulness. In the first Trump term, it took a disease to destroy the economy.
Starting point is 00:24:51 This time, he is the disease. To be clear, Trump is preannouncing that he's going to break any law he wants to get whatever he wants. Now, I'm no revolutionary. I can't grow the beard. But that is a tyrannical declaration of power. OK, so why do we need that every night? Nobody wants to watch that. He's got 2 million and a few hundred thousand viewers, but that's nothing.
Starting point is 00:25:21 He's losing 40 million a year, and he makes 15 million. So he's out. Joining us now from North Carolina is a guy who knows the networks, particularly CBS, very well. His name is Bernard Goldberg. We call him Bernie, but it's Bernard and that's what you punch up when you want to go to his website for wisdom and perspective. That good?
Starting point is 00:25:46 Did I say it the way you wrote it? OK, excellent. I'm a pro. I mean, I can do that. All right. Now, I think this is a bigger story than Stephen Colbert. And I predicted, as you know, that Colbert would go. And there are going to be some people on The View that are going to go.
Starting point is 00:26:06 And Kimmel...possible. But it's a bigger story in the sense that network television is finished. It is over. It is not coming back. And that includes the news agencies. Do you agree? I do. All right, so you wrote a book early on called Bias when you were a correspondent at CBS and Bernie and I worked for a brief time together at the network and you nailed it with Dan Rather and that crew that they were shading the news to the left and it really wasn't an honest play. That contagion spreads all throughout CBS now.
Starting point is 00:26:56 There isn't one traditional conservative commentator to be seen on the entire network. Do you think that has something to do with its demise? Yeah, I do. Bias, which came out right after 9-11, was a wake-up call. It was a warning shot about liberal bias and the harm it causes. But instead of paying attention, what they did was they called me every name in the book. They called me, and, what they did was they called me every name in the book. They called me, and I mean this literally, they called me a traitor. These are people who don't call real traitors, traitor, but they called me a traitor. I survived. I'm not at all sure they will. The new management, Skydance, is headed up by David Ellison, whose
Starting point is 00:27:44 father Larry, who I interviewed while I was at CBS, his father Larry is good friends with Donald Trump. David Ellison met with Brandon Carr, the FCC chairman, the other day and said, I want more voices, more variety of voices at CBS News. Which leads me to say this, Bill, and I'm saying it not literally, but you'll get the idea. There's a better chance that you, Bill O'Reilly, will be the next anchor of the CBS Evening News than will Scott Pelley, who is a liberal
Starting point is 00:28:17 who hates Donald Trump, or at least doesn't like Donald Trump. They want a variety of voices, and the liberal ones they have now, don't provide any variety. All right, but there's no difference between CBS, NBC and ABC, correct? It's the same. Yeah, but I know, but I know CBS better. I know, I know, but I want your opinion on that. It's the same across the board, right? That's right. OK, so you got Paramount, which is going to sell. You got Comcast.
Starting point is 00:28:47 You got Disney. You got three major corporations here. They all have taken their network franchises way to the left, not a little way to the left. And I'm saying to myself, why? Why would they, why would you hire a Stephen Colbert when 80 million people voted for Donald Trump? And now one and not one of those people are ever going to watch Stephen Colbert.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Why would you hire him? You know, Michael Jordan famously said he was asked to endorse a Democratic candidate for the US Senate. And he said, you know, Republicans buy sneakers too. It's as if these people don't understand that Republicans have TV sets too, that Republicans watch television too. They have to. They have to. They don't care. to a guy like, okay, now we're getting there. But if you're the CEO, a Brian Roberts at NBC and Iger at Disney, God knows who brought in CBS. All right. Your duty is to make your corporation profitable. But they have put their ideology above that and ruined the three networks top to bottom.
Starting point is 00:30:11 I think they have a knee-jerk reaction. And I'd like to know what you think about this. If you say, and I think I reasonably said it in bias, there's a liberal bias in the news. There's no conspiracy. Back then, there was no conspiracy. There's a lack of diversity of opinion. Dan Rather never came in, closed the door, called his top lieutenants in, doused the lights, pulled the shades, gave the secret handshake and the secret salute, and said, let's get those conservatives today.
Starting point is 00:30:48 It never ever happened that way. It was groupthink. They had too many people of the same political mentality. I don't think Bob Iger or the other CEOs think too deeply about this. But I think if you come out like I did and say there's a liberal bias in the news, they automatically think you're a right-wing screwball. And they reject what you say and they go the other way, just as Biden went the other way on the border because Trump said there are too many illegals coming into the border. Biden went the other way. I think if you say there's a liberal
Starting point is 00:31:25 bias in the news, no matter how reasonably you say it, and I hope I said it reasonably, they will just circle the wagons, put up a brick wall, and say we're not listening to him, he's a conservative. As if being a conservative is tantamount to being a racist a Misogynist right in their mind, but it's more about it's more about Believing what they want to believe my one of my themes here is that Pete you can't persuade some people about anything No matter how many facts you have because they believe what they want to believe. That's it And that's where these CEOs are because when you have a network NBC is a great example.
Starting point is 00:32:06 And that NBC network, that's huge. I mean, that goes across, they got cable, Comcast, they got network, they got everything. There isn't one, not one even moderate conservative that has got any cache on the network. Not one. That is by design. It's a culture. And then the other thing is when PBS and NPR got denied their funding, thank God, by the way, I don't want my money going into those operations.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Both of the CEOs go, oh, we're not we're not liberal. No, no, that's hold on. Hold on. That's the key point. That's the key point. It's crazy. I don't think I don't think they're lying. I think they're they're delusional. I think they're lying.
Starting point is 00:32:58 You'd have to you and you could not say that be like me saying I'm not Irish. No, no, there's a difference not Irish no no I'm Scandinavian look you couldn't run an operation the night before frontline runs an hour runs an hour and 20 minute documentary and this is their big doc unit the other CEOs gotta be aware of it. OK, an hour and 20 minutes that Trump is his fascist dictator. They used three pro Trump people in the hour and 20 minutes and 20 anti Trump. And you're going to say to the public, we're not biased. I think the problem is this bill. They think they can spot a conservative a hundred thousand
Starting point is 00:33:47 miles away. The conservative could be hiding behind a brick wall and they'll spot the conservative. But they think, trust me on this, I witnessed this at CBS News, they think they're not liberal. They think they're reasonable. They think they're not liberal. They think they're reasonable. They think they're moderate. They think they're extreme. What's that? Noble is the word you're looking for. Noble, I'll add that to my list.
Starting point is 00:34:14 That's the top word. They feel they're noble. So all of the decisions they make to shut out any kind of traditional conservative voice is built on those are bad people. My side of good people. And that's what we're going to do. Last word. Well, you're absolutely right about that. They could you could be this much to the right of center in a newsroom. And by the way, you'd have a tough time finding anybody even this much to the right of center at the New York Times or CBS News.
Starting point is 00:34:49 And they'll spot you as if you had two heads, but you could be this much to the left of center and they don't notice it. It's just you blend in. Right. All right, Bernie Goldberg, check his website, bernardgoberg, one word, dot com. Bernie, good to see you.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Enjoy the summer. Appreciate it very much. Smart life. Now, this is a very important thing for you. So we all have to eat. The problem in America is that we want to eat fast and thus fast food. Everybody knows I'm good for you, but we're on the run and with this and with that and we don't have time to be in the kitchen whipping up good food and on and on and on and on. So you go
Starting point is 00:35:37 to the grocery stores and they have processed food there. Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my food there. junkie on a late lunch or getting ready for the drive home. New episodes of the Sean Spicer Show podcast drop at 2pm East Coast every day. Make sure you tune in. You can find us at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. Okay, this stuff that you throw in a microwave and you heat up, you put in the oven, whatever it may be. Well, it's bad. And it's killing people. And this is the RFK Jr. thing and he's right about this, RFK Jr. I've heard from him in a while but he should be out there pounding his drum. So the cognitive market research outfit says that process food industry 1.33 trillion a year. We're just grabbing this stuff off the shelves. I've done this, okay?
Starting point is 00:36:49 And the processed foods basically take out the nutrition of the food and put in all kinds of things that, so the food won't spoil and taste better and dumps all, whatever it may be, maybe okay so it's bad for you and 70 percent of the US food supply is processed foods 70 percent because we don't have time to go to the marketplace and get the carrots and this and that and so we're just running running running right now here are the worst foods and I I eat some of them, and I'm going to tell you which ones I eat.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So potato chips, corn chips. I had some corn chips last night. Cookies, crackers, baked goods, candy, ice cream, breakfast cereals. Now I eat Irish oatmeal maybe three, four times a week. That's not processed food. But everybody dumps the cereals on there full of sugar. Can't be more than 10 milligrams of sugar.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Packaged bread. That means all bread, unless you're going to the marketplace. Soft drinks, we all know that. Fruit juices, sug that fruit juices, sugary fruit juices. I get the orange juice that's like cut in half on the sugar, I don't know how they do it. Frozen meals, forget it.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Burgers, fries, hot dogs, sausage, bacon, deli meats, canned vegetables, soups. You can't eat anything. You can't eat anything. Mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings. Ay-ay-ay. So, I've cut down the amount of food I eat and I try to pinpoint it. Okay, so instead of the chips, I have carrots with a little blue cheese dressing just a little depth or celery That kind of thing. I'm trying hard to just cut it down Carbohydrates, that's what I got a cut out of my diet, but you should know which it's impossible though It's simple. You can't go to the ballpark and not have a hot dog or a cheeseburger once in a while. I mean, come on.
Starting point is 00:39:09 You can't be eating kale. I hate kale. Now I like Brussels sprouts. I'll eat asparagus. I'll eat broccoli with a little drizzle of something on it. Chopped up salads are all right. I always get the dressing on the side so I'm not dumping the dressing on there. So you can
Starting point is 00:39:29 be smart about it but be aware you know and younger people don't think they're ever gonna die. They don't. This is not on the horizon you know at their age. It's an eight dollars garbage and then there are people who are way overweight, and the reason they're overweight is sugaring carbs. That's it. So what I do is every day I write down this is what I'm gonna do. And when you think about it,
Starting point is 00:40:00 creative things come into mind. Tonight I'm gonna have some chopped clams and I think I'm gonna go for chicken quesadilla. Now that's icy but it's not horrible. All right, but I want you to know that I'm in this with you. Smart life. OK, here is the final thought of the day. So in everybody's life, there are bad things that happen. And we've got to deal with them in a fair way. I tell my urchins, look, life is complicated.
Starting point is 00:40:39 And you're going to be presented with situations that are very disturbing, painful. But there's one simple thing that you have to do when you make a decision about your life and how it influenced others. You do the right thing. There's a movie by Spike Lee called Do the Right Thing, but that's what it is. Have to do the right thing, even if it hurts you.
Starting point is 00:41:14 If you stay on that road, you'll be successful and happy in the end. If you don't, you'll be miserable. Now, staying on that road is hard. And what I do, and again I tell the urchins, when you do something that's very difficult, reward yourself. Now, we're at the David Wright day at City Field on Saturday. David Wright, former Met third baseman, has a number retired. He is, how should I put this? Such a high quality human being, I can't even tell you.
Starting point is 00:41:59 I've known him for decades. He is the best. We went to the game, my son and I, and we brought presents for everybody. Okay? For David, for everybody we knew we were going to see at the game. We bought gifts because they were all so kind to us. They made it easy for my son and I get to the game, all of that and so, it's a give back situation.
Starting point is 00:42:30 All right? And I said to my son, look, this is our reward. We get to go to the game. We did talk to David, right? And you know, everything went our way. But in return, we did the right thing. We're giving little gifts here and there. And that's it.
Starting point is 00:42:46 They do that in Europe and in Japan. They always do it in Japan. But we didn't here. Anyway, reward yourself when you do something good. That's what I want the final thought in your mind. Could be anything. Could be a snack, a dessert, a game, a splurge, a hat, whatever. Not woke gear, anything you want.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Reward yourself. And then people who help you, give them a little something. Thank you for watching and listening on our 300 radio stations to the No Spin News. We'll see you again on Monday.
