Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News Tuesday, August 20th, 2004, Stand Up for Your Country. So we are covering the Democratic National Convention, Chicago from Long Island, because it's much safer. here to do that. But the reason is I've been to so many conventions, both Republican and Democrat, I don't need to go anymore. I know what the drill is. And it's easier for me to assemble information away from it. Now, as you know, we don't have a party here. I'm a registered independent. The reason
Starting point is 00:00:46 that I've done that for decades is that, of course, if you are a registered Democrat or Republican, then you have an obligation to that party. You're an apparatchnik, and I don't want any obligations to any political party because my job is to watch both of them so they don't hurt you. Okay? It's very simple. And that simplicity has led to massive success for the enterprises that we have undergone in the past 25 years. So what we have now is a country that really doesn't understand the massive changes that are taking place. And I'm not being super-silius word of the day. just the folks don't really know. And it's my job to bring to their attention what's really happening. And we're going to do that tonight. All right. Our coverage of the election has been
Starting point is 00:01:41 tough and honest. You know that. When Donald Trump does something that I feel is hurting the country, I say that. Same thing with Joe Biden. And that's the subject of this evening's talking points memo. Mr. Biden's speech last night. He took to the stage at about 1130 East Coast time, he's usually in the land of Nod by then, stayed up late, but his energy level was good. You know, delivered this speech. He was on a teleprompter. It was long. And essentially, he was telling everybody, hey, I have been a very successful and even brilliant president.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Go. As you're president, I've been determined to keep America moving forward, not going back. To stand against hate and violence in all its forms, to be a nation where we not only live with, but thrive on diversity, demonizing no one, leaving no one behind, and becoming a nation that we profess to be. I also ran to rebuild the backbone of America, the middle class. I made a commitment to you. Let I be a president for all Americans. Whether you voted for me or not, we have done that. No.
Starting point is 00:03:19 You haven't even come close to doing that. You have not helped the middle class, the working class, at all in any way. That's the truth. And I'll back it up now. If you got a pen and paper, here we go. According to Customs and Border Patrol, 8.5 million foreign nationals have been accounted at the southern border. Another three million are called gotaways. Okay, they came over. It's about 12 million people that have crossed into the United States under the Biden-Harris administration. That is, far in a way the biggest influx in the history of this country. And it's cost close to $200 billion.
Starting point is 00:04:08 We have $151 billion on the screen. That was in May, all right? And it's just overwhelmed the budgets of major cities like New York, of counties, of smaller towns, of border towns. This open border has crushed the fiscal profiles of cities, and counties. That's true. Now, who pays for that? Working in middle class people. That's who pays. So that's number one on immigration. It's absurd to contend that you did a good job in that area. Secondly, the economy, personal stuff, all right? Gas prices up 38% under Biden
Starting point is 00:04:52 Harris. Food up 21%. Mortgage rates up 148%. Home insurance up 61%. Car insurance up 118%. Real wages, what you take home, down 2.24%. Does that sound like he's rebuilt the middle class to you? Does it? Let's be honest. The average American does not have $500 in savings. Does that sound like a rebuilding of your security?
Starting point is 00:05:29 So it's a disaster. But the Democratic Party is not going to acknowledge any of that, even though they are in fact stone. They're in stone, and you cannot debate them. Okay? Now, we source the whole thing. If you are a premium of concierge member, you can get a transcript of what I just told you.
Starting point is 00:05:52 But I tell you there's no debate about it. So when you have 50% of all, working people in this country that don't have 500 bucks in a bank, you've got a disastrous situation. And the Democratic Party wants to raise taxes on corporation. That is their centerpiece in Chicago. And the corporations will pass that cost along to the consumer. Now, this is what I'm trying to tell you. All right. Now, socially, drug deaths in the United States are of 36% under Biden. And that stat is low because a lot of people don't even report the ODs. They put them on some other, on the death certificate, some other cause of death.
Starting point is 00:06:41 36%. Now, that's again, because the open board of the massive amount of narcotics. And narcotics is the main driver of social disorder. This is an amazing stat. You ready? 68% of convicts in county and local situations are drug-addicted, 6-8, and they have no problem buying any narcotic they want, and it's cheap because of the open border. Does that sound like backbone and middle class to you, rebuilding, does it?
Starting point is 00:07:16 So this is just a catastrophe of bad social, economic stats. I'm not even going to get into overseas, okay? It's not even worth doing that at this point. So there you have it, and that people are in Chicago on the convention floor cheering and screaming for the success of the Biden-Harris administration. And you look at them and you go, okay, we know what it is. People believe what they want to believe. Facts don't be added it.
Starting point is 00:07:53 You know people like that. I know you do. I don't have too many them around me because I frighten the hell out of them. Okay? Because, you know, this is my job. My job is to assemble this kind of information. But, you know, look, Joe Biden's the second worst president of American history. My upcoming book, Confronting the President's out September 10th, will document that.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford Gold. Power, politics and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week I'll sit down for candid conversations Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, and even the president of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. When Trump says Biden's the worst, Trump is wrong. He's not the worst. Buchanan was worse, James Buchanan. Okay, but Biden's number two. And believe me, I will lay it out so a fourth grader could understand it.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Okay, that's the memo. All right, DNC Night 2, Barack and Michelle Obama, that'll be a love fest. Doug M.off, that's Kamala Harris's husband, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who has destroyed the state of Illinois. Destroyed Chicago. Destroyed. Because of that guy. But he's got a feature, and he's going to tell everybody how great it is.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Okay. All right, J.D. Vance Update, I promised you yesterday. We've been negotiating with the senator for a long time upon the no-spin news. So on Thursday, he will be here, so he says, victory wasn't easy. At the end of the program and the final thought, I'll tell you what our process was. but we got them. Now, this isn't going to be a cat lady interview. I don't care about the cat ladies.
Starting point is 00:11:18 If you like cats, good. I'm glad. Guys like cats, too. This is going to be policy. And I have some, not legitimate, but important questions for Senate of advance, that he's never been asked. And I'm anxious to hear his point of view. We're going to give him plenty of room to roam, too. you're going to get a lot of time on Thursday because I don't think he's done an interview yet where he's defined his outlook on America I don't know it but we will that's coming up on Thursday very happy to get him now Donald Trump was confronted yesterday by a CBS reporter where was he uh I don't know where he was he's running around I think he's in Pennsylvania okay
Starting point is 00:12:09 Caitlin Huey Burns caught up with President Trump go why insult her intelligence well I have to do that well I don't think she's a very bright person I do feel that I mean I think that's right I think I am a very bright
Starting point is 00:12:24 person a lot of people say that I don't think she's a very bright person and you know what our country needs a very smart person all right so it's a personal stuff that Donald Trump should get away from because he's speaking to the choir,
Starting point is 00:12:41 not to the independent voters that could put him back into the Oval Office. You, watching me and listening to me on a massive amount of radio stations across the country, you are perfectly capable of deciding whether Kamala Harris is an intelligent person or not. You don't need Donald Trump or me or anybody else to tell you that. Okay. Okay. Now, perhaps the most damaging thing to Donald Trump was the skin color debate. Remember this?
Starting point is 00:13:14 Okay, this is important now. So at the end of July, Donald Trump got involved with talking about the vice president's ethnicity, whether she was South Asian, African American, right? And I said this on News Nation. Go. The broadside against Kamala Harris was that she's a phony, that she used one bit of ethnicity to do this, one bit to do that. But Trump didn't articulate it. But let me send this message to everybody.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Any American who injects skin color into any conversation these days in a negative way is a fool. Period. You're foolish. Skin color didn't have anything to do with politics, with the way we live, and who we are as Americans. There's nothing to do with it. Now, if you are a person who lives and dies on skin color, I feel sorry for you. All right, note the word negative. Okay, I'm going to quote it again.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Any American who inject skin color into any conversation these days in a negative, way is a fool. I stand by that until I'm in the ground. But that comment was the subject of robust debate. Stephen A. Smith on News Nation. Go. Respectfully, Bill O'Reilly, who on earth are you to say such a thing? You are not black. You are a white individual in the United States of America, and we know there's a white power structure that has existed in this country forever. And so we understand that. Let's get that out the way first. Secondly, when he talked about skin color, well, again, if you're living in our skin, come talk to us. Until then, you don't have a right to say that because you don't know what we experience as black people. And joining us now from
Starting point is 00:15:14 L.A. is the author of a very good book, Straight Shooter, a memoir of Second Chances and First Takes. Enjoyed reading that. And you know him. He's on ESPN with the sports, and he's ambidextrous because he talks politics as well, Stephen A. Smith. So, first of all, thanks for coming on. Most would have fled in terror, but you are here. So I'm telling you that if you talk about skin color in a negative way, you're a fool. And you think you can talk about skin color in this country and really move the discourse along in a positive way? You really believe that?
Starting point is 00:15:57 well i think that if you are an individual that's fair-minded which shockingly or to a lot of people out there i find you to be fair-minded um i think if you're talking to somebody and you're fair-minded and you take into account the position that they're coming from then obviously it's going to heighten your level of sensitivity because you're not you're going to understand that you're not living in their shoes and when i listened to you speak the other day yeah like i said i have a distinct advantage when it comes to you. When you had the O'Reilly factor, I barely missed it.
Starting point is 00:16:31 It was an elite show. Obviously, you were a preeminent voice in the world, the King of Cable Television, as they say. Week nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Fox News Channel, I watched you all the time. And I know that you are an independent. You don't
Starting point is 00:16:47 consider yourself a Republican or a Democrat, and you do what you believe the facts tell you. And so my attitude was, where was that Bill O'Reilly when he was talking to Chris Cuomo. I didn't see that person. I saw a person that's... Well, let's get specific. What do you mean? My thesis is that we're all Americans. Okay. We agree. We agree. All right? Okay. And that we are beyond, we are post-racial in evaluating people on the basis of their skin color or disparaging people as Trump.
Starting point is 00:17:25 did to Kamala Harris. Nobody did. All right. We are beyond that here. And if we're not, then people like me and you should disparage the skin color people. That's the point. That's the point I made. Yeah. But you were saying also, in other words, you were alluding to this reality that that's virtually non-existent, that that's not something that's really going on in everyday America today. I would say to you, it might be more the exception than the rule in today's generation compared to what it was decades ago, but it still exists. Ask any black person, and they'll tell you that. We deal with things. But I'm not talking about personal prejudice and bias at all. Okay. My thing was centered around Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. That was the
Starting point is 00:18:18 context of the remarks. Yeah, but you were expensive. What? But you were expensive. But you were expensive. I was expensive. You went, you were expansive. You went beyond it. You said, let me say this. In the context of anybody making decisions to attack another person or criticize another person on the basis of skin color is a fool. I'm not. I agree with that. I wasn't. Well, that's what it was. Look, I understand the reality that African Americans and other minorities are treated differently in some places. than Caucasians. Everybody gets that. But when politicians at the highest level, Stephen, this is very important for a guy like you
Starting point is 00:19:03 who has access to a lot of minority viewers and listeners, it's very important you understand that. When these people devolve into criticism because of skin color, that should not be acceptable. It's not acceptable. Nobody is saying that it was, And I'm not saying that you are saying that it was saying is acceptable. I'm saying when you contextualize what you were saying, you said,
Starting point is 00:19:30 you became a bit more expansive. And you said, let me go on to say this. Anybody who does, as you just articulated, is a fool. And I'm saying to you, there's a whole bunch of fools out there, Bill O'Reilly. Are you paying attention? There's a whole bunch of fools. I'm not paying attention. I lamb base those people all the time.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Let's get specific now. So we talked about the overall general. point. I want specific answers. There are Americans, millions of voters, who vote on a basis of skin color. So if you're black and a black candidate is running, you see that person more favorably. Is that right or wrong? I think that's wrong. I think the one place where it was right was with Barack Obama. There was no way in hell that black folks were not going to vote for Barack Obama for the presidency of the United States. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? were black folks going to vote for Barack Obama,
Starting point is 00:20:25 when they didn't know anything about him. He didn't really distinguish himself in the Senate. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:20:45 It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast. podcast, listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to turn into my show every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. President Trump and his team are shaking up Washington like never before, and we're here to cover it from all sides, especially on the topics the mainstream media won't. So if you're a political junkie on a late
Starting point is 00:21:20 lunch or getting ready for the drive home. New episodes of the Sean Spicer Show podcast drop at 2 p.m. East Coast every day. Make sure you tune in. You can find us at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. Why were they going to vote for? Well, first of all, I'm not going to speak for all black folks, but I'm going to say this to you're I know, I know, I'm going to say this to you, Bill. There were about 43 presidents that arrived before him that had an opportunity to screw up
Starting point is 00:21:47 and they were all white males. How come he couldn't get an opportunity? opportunity. That was the thinking that a lot of folks in our community have. Not all. And that's legitimate. In other words, a first chance. That's number one. Then secondly, when you take it to account, I'll tell you this, you know, black folks hold black folks accountable all the time. So this notion that because you're black, you're automatically going to get our support. I'm sorry, that is not how it works. Black folks are putting black folks in jail all the time. They're making sure they're in prison when they break the law.
Starting point is 00:22:22 They're calling 911 to call the cops on them all the time. Oh, that happens all the time. It makes no mistake about it. I think where it gets interesting, however, is when you think about your lane, the political landscape or the political apparatus that exist in this country, you might think that somebody is supporting this candidate because they're black, when in fact they happen to be black, but they may be a liberal, and their ideology may vibe with that particular voter.
Starting point is 00:22:48 And you don't trust folks on the right. But you know as well as I do that people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, before him, although Jackson wasn't nearly as bad as Sharpton, traded on skin color to whip up resentment. Look, one of the things that is absolutely false is the charge that Donald Trump is a racist. He is not a racist. I've known a guy for 32 years. I've never called him that. Of course not. You wouldn't be on the program or I'd be just hammering you like into pudding if you did. You haven't.
Starting point is 00:23:24 The reason you're on a program is because you're sane and I want to hear your point of view. And when you said that, I said, get them on and we'll debate. And as I said, most people wouldn't have in your position. They would have run. But you didn't. But anyway, there are people in this country who vote because of skin color. And I'll give you a vivid example. African Americans were bailing from Georgia. Biden. They were bailing from him. Yes. There was a, there was a perception that the man was way beyond capacity to do the job. Yes. Okay. But as soon as Kamala Harris came in as a woman of color, that jazzed the whole minority community. And you know it. All the polls say. Wait a minute. You know, you know better than me, Bill. I would challenge you on that.
Starting point is 00:24:12 How come it can't be the galvanization of a bunch of women out there? Because obviously, we Reproductive rights is going to be a huge government in this election. All right. Reproductive rights, who we. Okay? It's an issue. It's an issue, but it's not the dominant issue in this country. What the dominant issue is, is elevating people in the working and middle of class,
Starting point is 00:24:34 so they have some security, which Trump did in his four years as African American employment and wages went way up. But let me just, let me just tell you this. you have a situation now in this country where Kamala Harris has no record at all, none, did zip for four years in the Senate, nothing. I don't care what she did in California. That's a local situation. I'm talking national policy.
Starting point is 00:25:00 You have a situation where this woman did nothing in the Senate was a terribly unpopular vice president, 32% approval, and won't talk to the press. Well, don't get me started with that. Hey, listen. Wait, wait, wait. I called out about avoiding the press. I said you got to show up and do, you got to talk, you got to take some tough questions. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:23 I've been on the record stating that already. But it's not about you. It's about her. Okay. So you got three strikes on her. Nothing in the Senate. Terrible vice president. Won't talk to the press.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Yet, you have delirium in Chicago. The greatest person ever here. Kamala Harris and I'm going, this is not based on public policy. This is based on emotion and a number of other things that it shouldn't be based on. Go ahead. Well, what you could say it shouldn't be, but you've been around considerably longer than me and you certainly have been in this realm considerably longer than me. You know emotions play a role in terms of how you're going to vote. So that's number one. All right. I didn't say it makes it right. I said it's reality. I'm talking reality. I'm not talking right or wrong. I'm talking reality. Now let's take
Starting point is 00:26:15 it to the count this. There was no primary. Guess what? Why was Biden, even in a position where he could show up on June 27th to debate against Donald Trump? There was clear slippage before then, but somehow, some way, they greased the skids and made sure there was no competition and then when suddenly you saw him on center stage on June 27th and he clearly looked like he had lost his fastball significantly, by the way, all of a sudden, everybody was in panic mode. So now you don't have a situation because you're running out of time. The Democratic National Convention is about to show up. You've got to have a presumptive nominee, right? And this person, it was the Biden-Harris administration, not the Biden administration. Now in the binary
Starting point is 00:26:56 system that we live in, they're saying, okay, it's one of the other. Okay, it's her. She doesn't really have a record to show on. She was four-fractors. Now she's against it. The border issue. over 10.5 million people you highlighted it at the beginning of the show. The people that have crossed the border. That was supposed to be on her watch because even though she wasn't the czar, she was perceived as being the czar. Okay, we've got that issue. We've got inflation as an issue.
Starting point is 00:27:18 What the hell are the Democrats or the liberals, you know, celebrating for? They're celebrating because of the alternative. The alternative is an individual in a lot of people's eyes, who is as loose of a canon as they come, who they don't believe they can trust, who they believe
Starting point is 00:27:36 will engage in vengeance. Okay, it's an anti-Trump vote. I understand that. There you go. That's why Biden got elected in the first place. And you said Biden lost his fastball. Stephen A, he never had a fastball. He was a knuckleball pitcher from way back, okay? Can we be nice? Can we be nice? He never had he. He never could bring me. Everybody can't be Bill O'Reilly, man. Everybody can't be Bill O'Reilly. No, you're right. He was a knuckleball list. That's a good thing. I got it. One of me is quite enough. Look, I'm going to send you, and I want my producer to write to sound, overnight confronting the presidents to Stephen A, because I want them to see that. Last question for you. Okay. So now, you're a common sense broadcaster, because I said
Starting point is 00:28:23 you're ambidextrous, you do sports, and you do contemporary things that are beyond sports. Yes, sir. You must know how corrupt the corporate media is, even though you work. work for ABC. I don't want your bad mouth ABC to do it right by you, okay, because you deliver for them. Same thing. When you deliver, you get paid, as they say in the dugouts of every major league baseball team. But you must know the level of corruption in this country that has, seeks to destroy Donald Trump, not only as a candidate, but as a human being. And a lot of that destruction directed at him has affected him and affects this race. So we may elect a president that is not capable of running this country, Kamala Harris. I don't believe she's capable
Starting point is 00:29:18 of running it. Where we know Trump is capable, whether you like them or not, that's a disturbing situation. Last word. I don't know that he's capable at this point because of the point you just made. I think that he has been, listen, I've been on the record saying go get him. If you, go beat him. Stop looking for all the assistance of the world. I understand they may have had, they felt they had cases against them, the insurrection on January 6th, you know, the vote, looking for 11,000 votes, 11,700 votes in Georgia and all in this other stuff. I've been of the mindset, go out there and beat him. All right, if he is all that you say he is, go out there and beat him. There is no.
Starting point is 00:30:00 doubt in my mind. It's not about one network. It's not about anybody. The corporate media, as you will call it, clearly doesn't want him on board. But when are we going to ask the question from your vantage point, Bill, as to what he does to bring it on himself? The presidency is a statesmanship, is a statesman's position. It's about galvanizing. It's about bringing the country together. It's about unifying all of us and making sure that we understand a priority that America needs to be. And conducting ourselves accordingly. You've got cabinet members out of the Wazoo that talk about him at every turn because he called them every name under
Starting point is 00:30:34 the son. He dismissed them. He questioned the intelligence. He did everything after he didn't want them anymore. He just twist and turned. He even turned against Fox News at one point. And we all know what they did to help him along the way. He does damage to himself without getting into all the other
Starting point is 00:30:50 stuff that people want to say about him. There's no doubt he does. He brings it on himself. We have chronicled that here. And by the way, just for your information, and I appreciate the kind of words about the Orion. highly factor. We reach more people here on a daily basis now than I ever reached it, through social media, through YouTube. Nobody knows because the corporate media won't tell you that, all right? And that's why Vance is coming on on Thursday and you should watch that interview
Starting point is 00:31:17 because I'm trying to say to them, it's a changing media environment here because most Americans know the fix is in. They know the corporate media has allied up, partnered up with the Democratic Party. That's not healthy for our democracy. But it's not about, but it's not about partnering up with the Democratic Party. I don't think that's what it is. People like me, for example, I have no problem seeing a bunch of Republicans in the Senate and Congress. But you're an independent, though. Yeah, yeah. But what I'm saying is my issue, when I think about the presidency, I'm looking at you and who you are and what you stand for on whether or not the country can trust that you'll lead for all of us, and thinking about yourself and who you want to exact vengeance upon.
Starting point is 00:32:02 That is an issue. You can't ignore that. You can't ignore that. Listen, my job is to point out strengths and weaknesses of both candidates. Trump's got some strengths. Kamala, I'm not sure. I haven't seen it. You're not sure.
Starting point is 00:32:18 And I'm saying not being sure is better than knowing that this particular person is scares the living hell out of you. Well, it doesn't scare me, but I understand that he does scare me. millions of people. You're Bill O'Reilly. You're Bill O'Reilly. You don't have to deal with a lot of stuff the average Joe in America has to deal with. You ought to put me on your ESPN show with plug confronting the president.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I'm going to put you on my podcast. I'm bringing in my podcast. We have more time. Yeah, well, I'll do your podcast. But here's what I want to talk about how the NFL, okay, is operating. Because that's an untold story about how the national football league, the largest spectator sport most important spectator sport in the world past soccer now okay how they really operate and i'm not and i'm not a bad-mouthing NFL guy by the way okay but it's it's fascinating
Starting point is 00:33:11 and um most sports cases are afraid of it but you're not so we'll do that they're head of the curve they're head of the curve in a lot of ways and a lot of people are following them thank you stephen for coming in i think uh the uh viewers and the listeners got a lot out of the conversation we really appreciate it no problem bill take Okay, outside the Democratic Convention, as I mentioned, Planned Parenthood was offering women free abortions. That's nice, isn't it? Isn't that nice? Because the Democratic Party not only is in the reproductive rights area, but they promote abortion.
Starting point is 00:33:46 They think it's a noble thing, a good thing. Roll the tape. My friends, history is watching us. Together, we must protect abortion rights. And yes, she will restore abortion rights nationwide. Kamala Harris will sign a national law to restore the right to an abortion. She will fight for every woman and every girl. even those who are not fighting for her.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Okay, fine. So Bill Clinton, abortion should be safe and rare. Now, hey, no limits, any time, any place, for any reason up until birth. How did that happen? So I'm a Roman Catholic, you know that, all right? I respect my religion, or I wouldn't be a Roman Catholic because I understand the theology of the religion.
Starting point is 00:34:52 And Christianity, which is Protestants and orthodox and Roman Catholics say that life begins at conception. That's what the theology believes, that we were created in the image of God. How could any Christian vote for Kamala Harris? You have to resign. You disagree? Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Smart life. New study by the U.S. State Department, 46% of Americans hold passports. It's up from 30% in 2008. Here are the top 15 destinations overseas that Americans travel to. Very interesting. Aruba, I will never go there because of the justice system. Remember that poor girl from Alabama was murdered, and the Uruban authorities didn't even investigate it.
Starting point is 00:35:49 So no Aruba for me. San Salvador, that's expats, all right, from El Salvador. are going home. There's nothing in San Salvador, a very rough town. Delhi India, same thing, expats. Seoul, South Korea, same thing. These are people, Korean descent, that go home. Athens, Greece, nice town. You've got to watch yourself there, but it's a nice town. Nassau, Bahamas, very easy to get to. You got to watch yourself in Nassau now. It's a State Department warning, because there's a lot of thugs running around. Saigon. Chimin City, Vietnam. Again, that is Vietnamese who live here going home, but Saigon is fascinating.
Starting point is 00:36:33 That is a fascinating city. Rome, Tokyo, Paris, their usual capitals. Manila to Philippines, that's Filipino Americans going back. San Juan, very nice vacation if you can afford it. It is astronomically expensive. Montego Bay, Jamaica, beautiful. Watch your back front and side. Lots of crying. Dominican Republic, safer, but you still got to watch it. And number one, London, England, where I'm going in a few weeks, I live there for a year, fabulous town. That is it. This day in history, August 20th, 2017, Jerry Lewis dies, the age of 91.
Starting point is 00:37:15 That was seven years ago. Jerry Lewis, fascinating guy, big factor fan. I got a stack of his letters. Joseph Levecich, he was born. born in Newark, New Jersey, 1926. All right, met Dean Martin in 1946. They had a successful stage show, then went into movies, 98 movies Lewis made,
Starting point is 00:37:37 some with Martin, big hit. They split acrimoniously. Lewis fathered six sons, one daughter. But he's known in the United States primarily for his charitable work. This is an unbelievable stat. he raised two and a half billion dollars to combat muscular dystrophy go yes it beats it the most we ever had was 31 million 498 772 we got 31 510,000
Starting point is 00:38:18 what one more Now, Tiffany! Well, I did that for, I guess, the 19 years or something, and again, two and a half billion raves. Jerry Lewis is a Patriot. I know he's controversial and all that, but I knew him. Got seven years ago, good guy. Back with the final thought about J.D. Vance in a moment.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Okay, final thought of the day. So yesterday I said that we were negotiating with the Vance team to get him on this program, and it was not easy. Now, he's busy. He's underwater. He's all over the place. We know that. And we were very accommodating in working into his schedule. What I needed to see was whether he wanted to do the interview or not.
Starting point is 00:39:19 This is no cupcake here. You know that. We'll never get Harris or Walls, ever. They never come up against me in a million years. Trump, you know, he's going to eat them all the time. In fact, next week, when I'm on vacation, we're going to show you the four Trump history shows. And where do you see this, if you haven't seen it before? It's really something.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Anyway, Vance is going to come in, as I said, top of the program on Thursday. All issues. Okay? not going to do to BS stuff they do on cable TV or the Sunday morning shows. Issues. No cupcakes. We don't do that. You know that. So we're very happy that the senator has agreed. I did not want to come here and tell you that he was running. I did not want to do that. All right? So hopefully it'll all work out well. And believe me, it's just like Stephen A. I mean, Stephen A, you've got to give him credit for coming in. I don't know. Most people would never
Starting point is 00:40:21 done that. But it was respectful, his back and forth. I think it was riveting. Let me know what you think. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town. All right, I'm going to be on News Nation tonight. I'm going to be on News Nation tomorrow, Cuomo, and then right after the Kamala speech on Thursday, I will be there analyzing that speech. Thank you for watching and listening to the No Spin News. We'll see you tomorrow.
