Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, welcome to the No Spin News, Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019, fake your country back. It's a cover-up. Oh, it's a cover-up. Nancy Pelosi came out today in the U.S. Capitol after a meeting with other Democrats. The press, President Trump is covering up. What? What is he covering up? So you figure one of the press, one, anyone, maybe a wandering Boy Scout.
Starting point is 00:00:28 What it went? Madam Speaker, what exactly is the president covering up? No, as John Belushi once said, nope. So after Nancy Pelosi said that, Donald Trump replied. I'm going to play you his sound on tape in a moment. But here's, and the cables are going crazy, talk radio's going nuts. Here's what happened. So Donald Trump woke up this morning at like four because he doesn't sleep.
Starting point is 00:00:54 And he had an infrastructure meeting on his schedule with Pelosi and Sherman. Donald Trump wants to improve the nation's infrastructure. Okay? He's interested in that because he's a builder and thinks it would be good for the folks, thinks it would be good for him, all right? Then he sees Nancy Pelosi accusing him of a cover-up, whereupon he gets angry.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Donald Trump gets angry, and he lashes. And the lash was, okay, I'm going to bring them over for a meeting at the White House and then I'm going to boot him out, tell him to come back when they finish the investigation. And that's exactly what happened. So Pelosi and Schumer show up. Trump goes, you know what? No, we're not going to have any infrastructure meeting. When you guys get finished with this bogus investigation after investigation and then you come back. All right? So here's
Starting point is 00:01:46 what Donald Trump said after that. Go. I don't do cover-ups. You people know that probably better than anybody. And I was just looking at a list of some of the things that We just did more than 2,500 subpoenas qualified for. And I let everybody talk. I let the White House counsel speak for 30 hours, 30 hours. I have 19 special counsel lawyers, 40 FBI agents. I said, open it all up, let them have whatever they want, nearly 500 search warrants.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Think of that, a search warrant. Did you ever see a search warrant before? Neither did I. Okay, so that was effective. That was effective. President Trump's saying, look, you know, cover up a white. But the fix is in. All right, let's go into a interesting PC cultural issue versus break.
Starting point is 00:02:49 If you are over the age of 50, I have an important message for you. There's a true alternative to AARP, the liberal retirement, that lobbies in favor of progressive policies. For less than $20 a year, an AMAC membership gives you members-only pricing on car insurance, roadside assistance, discounts on hotels and travel, cell phone plans, discount dental plans, and on and on and on and on. So please join more than one million fellow Americans right now at amac.us. That's amac.us.
Starting point is 00:03:30 And yes, I am a member. Visit amac.us, amat.us, amat.us. So there were three monster hits in the 1970s, 60s. I want to get the precise information here. So National Lampoon's Animal House, John Belushi and a boy, Tim Matheson. 1978, grossed about $500 million of, if it was now, okay, or currency, if it were now. $500 million, huge shit.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Goldfinger, classic James Bond, about $420,000. That was 1964. Lazing Saddles, Mel Brooks. $619,000. That was 1974. Those movies would not be made today because a PC would kill it. So what am I talking about? Let's be very specific. First, blazing salad. Go. It's George Cummins.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Bring out the church. Strike up the band! Hey, the sheriff is a niche. What he's saying? The sheriff is near. No, God's blaming thing, Blument. The sheriff is a niche. All right! Now, Mel Brooks is a satirist, and Clevon Little was the sheriff in the movie, and he was a hero. people who are biased. That's what the movie is.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And if you are a bigot, Mel Brooks puts you in the woodshed, and he does it in a funny way. That's the movie. Okay. The movie was a tremendous hit. Tremendous. It plays once in a while now,
Starting point is 00:06:18 but not a lot. But if Mel Brooks, who wrote the screenplay and was the director, submitted that today. Oh, wait. So the question is satire and doing things that are good in the sense that they are calling out bigotry, is that worth the PC that you have to go through? I can't tell you, for example. I can't tell you, you. For me, I want that kind of, that kind of First Amendment right without people saying, oh, you can't. So we have, we're in the age of censorship, no doubt about it. We're in the age of PC, uh, no due process, nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:07:21 You can do some, mostly you can't. Can't do it. Career killer, can't. I don't know. Now, there's always a line. Another break, right back with final thought on All in the Family. Recently, I had a great conversation with the CEO of the Hartford Gold Group, Sanford Man. He's a true entrepreneur.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I like those kind of guys. looking to provide customers with the best possible experience when they invest in physical gold and silver. So right now, the Hartford Gold Group is giving you a free silver coin to viewers of the no-spin news exclusively. You just go to www.hartfordgoldgroup.com forward slash no-spin. Or you can give them a call at 866-484-051-1-4-0-5-1.000. 866-484-084-05-17. Tom O'Reilly sent you to get the free gift. All right, the final thought today is a television thing.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I rarely watch it. My kids never watch TV. Once in a while, watch a game or something, 60 minutes once in a while. That's about it. So ABC is having a live broadcast updated of All in the Family and the Jefferson. Norman Lear is going to be on a program.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Woody Harrelson. Why are they doing this? Because those shows, Mary Tyler Moore, all in the family, Jefferson's, on and on, people remember them. They were fabulous shows. So maybe we'll get a glimpse of what TV used to be like. There are some good shows now,
Starting point is 00:09:11 but they don't engage the way they used to. See them on.
