Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the No Spin News, Thursday, January 30th, 2020, Fight for Your Freedom. Big breaking news today. Word out of Washington is the impeachment thing is done. Finished. There will be no witnesses because the Republican senators, 51 of them anyway, I'm going to vote against witnesses. And that puts it all to a vote now on whether to convict or quit President Trump. You need two-thirds of the Senate to convict him. That will never happen.
Starting point is 00:00:34 So let me explain what has gone on. And we'll assume that this is accurate, all right, that Mitch McConnell, who will emerge the hero on the Republican side, has managed to convince 51 public and senators not to vote for witnesses. If they had voted for witnesses, this trial would have gone on another week, two, maybe three. So it would have been crazy. and that's bad for the country. Please read my message of the day and my column,
Starting point is 00:01:04 A Fair Wind, why this is hurting America so much. So, there were three senators on the Republican side who had told the public, yeah, I'd like to hear from John Bolton, and we'll get to Bolton in a minute. All right, that's Lisa McCowski, Alaska, Mitt Romney, Utah, Susan Collins, Maine.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Susan Collins is not really, attached the Republican Party. Maine is a whole different ballgame up there. She doesn't really need the Republican structure, and she's running for re-election. So I don't think it was her, but it could be wrong. Mitt Romney just despises Donald Trump. It's all about that. And Mitt Romney hurting himself, a lot. I don't think he knows it, but he is. So it's Lisa Mikovsky, who met with McConnell yesterday for 20 minutes, just one-on-one closed doors. I think she said, all right, I'm not going to vote for witnesses because I want to put an end to this, because it's hurting the country, and of course it's hurting the Republican Party, no doubt about that.
Starting point is 00:02:14 So what happens now is that McConnell will call for a vote. I don't think any Republicans are going to vote to kick Donald Trump out of office. So it'll be, you know, party lines and maybe Mansion in West Virginia and maybe a few other Democratic senators will vote against removing. Maybe. Doesn't matter, but they might. But it's not even coming anywhere close. And then I'll put an end to it.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And then we'll have the Iowa caucus vote on Monday. We'll have the State of the Union coming up. we'll have the New Hampshire primary, and impeachment will kind of dissipate. Depending on what Donald Trump does with it, whether he uses it as a campaign issue or whether he says, bye, I don't want to hear about this anymore. You are listening to a free excerpt from Bill O'Reilly.com's no-spin news broadcast, where you can actually see me. We'll be right back after this message.

Starting point is 00:04:03 This was an extension of Russian collusion. Get Donald Trump out if we can, any in all means. It didn't work. Now, the people who should rightly decide this will vote in November. But there's something else here that's very, very fascinating. If you look back at the impeachment of Bill Clinton, and I covered that, and I on the factor said I would not have voted if I had been a senator to remove Bill Clinton. I don't know how many of you remember that.
Starting point is 00:04:34 And I explained it in detail that even though he did commit perjury and that he did do things inside the White House that were unacceptable, didn't rise to removing him, which is the most drastic action the Congress can take. There is no more drastic action than impeachment. I don't think people understand that. This is it. This is the nuclear weapon. And I said, it was close, but I would not have voted to remove. Bill Clinton purged himself, all right? and he lied under oath about his poor conduct. That's a thousand times worse than Donald Trump. Even if you believe that Trump did the worst,
Starting point is 00:05:23 that he deviously tried to use Ukraine to hurt Joe Biden, even if you believe that, all right? It's nowhere near what Bill Clinton did. Now, I've told you and told you and I'll just real quick, because I don't want to be boring and repetitive. Donald Trump's obsessed with the Obama administration. He believes that elements inside that organization did the dossier trumped up, pardon upon the Russian collusion, and then led to the impeachment.
Starting point is 00:05:57 He believes that it was all orchestrated. That's what Donald Trump believes in his heart. He wants to uncover that. He wants the American people to know what happened in his own. opinion. So he called up the new president of Ukraine because Ukraine was involved on the periphery of hacking. There was nefarious things going on inside the Ukraine government vis-à-vis the USA. And he said, look, this is Trump to the, and we know this, because we know about the phone call. Please investigate this, all right? We're very interested in this. And we want
Starting point is 00:06:36 to know what Joe Biden and everybody else did. nothing wrong with that. As I've explained, he's a chief law enforcement officer of the land, the president of the United States. Nothing wrong with it. Now maybe his motives were malevolent, maybe he had an intent to subvert the election. I've seen no proof of that. But in the end, there was no investigation by Ukraine and the money was delayed but not held up and it made the deadline, the congressional deadline. So this isn't even close to being impeachable. Killing Crazy Horse out May 12th. I think you're going to really like this book.

You don't want to miss an episode. Okay, final thought of the day. You all have heard comparisons, the United States to ancient Rome. Ancient Rome was decadent. People didn't pay attention. They wanted entitlements from the emperor and the Senate. They went to the Coliseum to watch Lions eat Christians and gladiators
Starting point is 00:08:34 kill each other, it devolved into a barbaric society. There are some valid claims and comparisons between ancient Rome and America. We are not on the decline economically, as ancient room was. There are barbarians everywhere, as the Romans had to deal with. Our spectacles can get kind of violent. A lot of people in this country like violence. I don't know why. I don't. Super Bowl. Garish, over the top, capitalism on display. Although the halftime performers, I didn't know this, Jay Lowe and Shakira, right? Am I saying the name right? They don't get paid. The publicity they get is worth it. But it's capitalism, $8,000 a ticket. Ma. In the end, there is some downsides to it. It's a little bit much. But in the end, it's good.
Starting point is 00:09:34 For two reasons, brings Americans together, parties, we socialize, we root, we do all that, brings us together. That's good, all right? And the second thing is, it shows the world, because everybody in a world now watches the Super Bowl, shows the world, okay, that we set the agenda. We American set the agenda. Nobody's got anything like, yeah, I think of the World Cup and all that, but nothing like the Super Bowl. The United States, we really said it.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Enjoy the weekend, I'll be checking in. A lot of stuff happening. I'll have a full report for my Super Bowl experience on Monday.
