Starting point is 00:00:00 This is the No Spin News. I'm Bill O'Reilly, Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, Fight for Your Freedom. So last night about 8 o'clock Eastern Time, some people in Lafayette Park across the street from the White House, began misbehaving. I got word pretty fast, and I turned on cable news, which was really interesting. So what happened essentially was these protesters were alerted in the afternoon by Black Lives Matter,
Starting point is 00:00:48 the DC operation, to gather in Lafayette Park, where they tried to destroy the statue of Andrew Jackson. They also defaced the Episcopal Church. church. That was the one that was partially burned. Now, these protesters were not peaceful and they're not the regular folks. These are organized protesters, organized by media matters. And they knew that by gathering in Lafayette Park, they would get maximum news coverage. But this is the interesting part. So CNN and MSNBC didn't really cover the Lafayette Park. protest. If you want to call it a protest, I don't. I call it a subversion. It says nothing to do
Starting point is 00:01:36 with George Floyd or police brutality. It has to do with imposing a far-left agenda on everybody in a country. All right? So CNN and MSNBC pretty much ignored it. But Fox, they were angry. And I was angry. I have to say, and a lot of people I know were texting me, how long is this going to go on? Why don't they do something? they being the federal authorities, the park police, whatever. And then about three minutes into watching conservative people go, this has got to end, this has got to stop, we've got to crush these people, got to kick their butts.
Starting point is 00:02:15 It occurred to me, and I should have seen this right off the jump. That's what this protest wanted. That's what Black Lives Matter wanted. It wanted the federal authorities to go in and I, attacked them, forcibly removed them from the park. They wanted that confrontation in the hopes that that would reignite the violent confrontations all over the country. So they were baiting President Trump and the federal government.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Come get us. We're going to destroy another statue, Andrew Jackson. We're going to deface the church again. Come get us. That was what they wanted. Now, it didn't happen. For once, President Trump showed restraint, and I'll get to him in a minute.
Starting point is 00:03:12 But the park police didn't attack them. They did pepper spray some of the protesters who were throwing stuff at police and the police were getting hurt. So they got pepper sprayed, not tear gas. But there wasn't this, mono-a-mono-hanna fighting that the Black Lives Matter movement wanted. It's important that you understand the big picture in what is happening because you're not going to get it in the
Starting point is 00:03:44 newspapers or on television news in this country. You will not get it. Now, were the conservatives on the Fox News Channel wrong? No, they weren't wrong. In a perfect world, You send in the authorities, you arrest these people for destruction of a monument and defacing a church. You put them in jail. But in this climate, with the media sympathetic to Black Lives Matter in general, that would cause more problems than it would solve. Now, the solution to this is to close.
Starting point is 00:04:28 down Lafayette Park. The church has been defiled twice, all right? That's enough to close it down. Close it down. You want to protest? Find someplace else. And then the federal government say to the incredibly incompetent mayor of Washington, we would appreciate if you would permit these protests because there are so many federal monuments and federal land in the district. Remember, the district is an estate. It's run by the federal government. We want all of these protesters permit it so they go a certain place. And if you don't do it, we're going to declare the protest illegal. That's not going to happen. That's how you do it. You stay one step ahead of Black Lives Matter. Now, of course, CNN and MSNBC, who at this point in history,
Starting point is 00:05:26 are almost as bad as Black Lives Matter because they empower that group. You are listening to a free excerpt from Bill O'Reilly.com's No Spin News broadcast, where you can actually see me. We'll be right back after this message. All right. In Seattle, the unbelievably incompetent Mayor Durkin and governor of Washington State Inslee Now say they're going to disrupt or take back the six blocks that the radicals seize after two separate shootings in the Chaz zone, 19-year-old killed, 33-year-old injured, and then last night another person injured, the chop zone. I'm sorry, I said Chaz. Chop zone. Okay? Capital Hill Autonomous Zone. So now tough guys, Durkin and, and then say, oh, we're going to take it back. But they don't say how or when near future.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Near future, it could be October, all right. And the protesters say, blank you, we're not leaving. So there will be a confrontation there in Seattle, which, by the way, is now ruined. How many people do you think are going to relocate to Seattle? Hands, anyone? Beautiful city. It's now in a San Francisco category.
Starting point is 00:06:54 How many people do you think going to Seattle? In fact, if you live in Seattle, you're going to leave. Not everybody, but a lot of people. New York City, 20 miles from where I am right now. Okay, you ready for this? From Sunday, June 14th to Sunday, June 21st, Father's Day, two days ago. Crime in New York City went up 358%. 358% over the same period of time in 2019.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Defund the police? Hey, how's that working? Bill de Blasio, you moron, roll him. This means what we know when they're shootings, they beget more shootings. We understand retaliation, we understand gang dynamics. And I've heard from a lot of community leaders that they're increasingly concerned.
Starting point is 00:07:54 So as we try to make sense of all the important issues that have to be addressed in this budget, I think, Marsha, it's really important to remember. You know, job one is always to keep people safe. Sure it is. Job one. You, de Blasio, in office seven years, haven't solved one problem. Not one. I was on with Mark Simone, the New York talker today, and you ought to listen to that conversation. I asked Simone, who knows New York, as well as anybody, give me one problem. Mayor de Blasio has solved in seven years.
Starting point is 00:08:34 There aren't any. He's made everything worse. And now he and Dermot Shea, the police commissioner, who's going to be out of there soon, because the cops won't work for him, they disband the street crimes unit. We talked about it yesterday. Why? There's no reason to. They were the undercover detectives in the violent neighborhoods that stopped the violence before it started. Quick break back with a final thought, are you a patriot? Really, are you?
Starting point is 00:09:10 Roll it. All right, final thought centers around a study by Wallet Hub. I don't know what Wallet Hub is, but they say here are the most patriotic states in the Union. Leads the League in Patriotism, Wyoming, 2nd, Idaho, Alaska, Maryland, the least patriotic states. West Virginia, Texas, California, New York, and New Jersey tops the least. Now, this is based on the amount of veterans in the state and the amount of volunteerism, helping your neighbor. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. I don't care. What I do care about is you. Are you a patriot? So here's the simple test. If you try to improve your country by helping other people and speaking in a positive way, solving problems, understanding, try to help your country, if you do that in any way, shape, or form, you are a patriot. See you tomorrow.
