Hey, Bill O'Reilly.com Premium Members, welcome to the No Spin News, Wednesday, May 20th, 2020.
Fight for your freedom and for your health. So we got Memorial Day weekend coming on up quickly.
I'm going to have some specials for everybody over the weekend on Bill O'Reilly.com.
and we'll tell you about those, and tomorrow we're going to lay out some very good news for us.
But today we're going to lead with a very strong editorial from me.
Mostly I do commentary here, but this is an editorial.
That means it's a cut-above commentary.
So the United States of America has to open for business now.
That's it. That's the editorial. This is a war, and in order to fight the war against the pandemic,
we have to have a strong economy in motion. We cannot take any more defeats by opening the economy,
and I mean everywhere. New York City, Los Angeles, everywhere. We're going to take casualties.
People are going to get hurt. There's no way that you can avoid it.
I'm not insensitive to that, but the greater good is served by reopening the nation now.
Here's how you do it. The governors of all the states have to say, business, you can open.
But here are the regulations you must follow. And those regulations can be masks worn inside many places.
distancing of six feet, I think that's logical, all right? Tighter control of how many people are
in a confined space. The disease spreads mostly in a confined space. Things like shorter hours,
restaurants have to have their tables spaced a little bit apart, all of those things. You have
to do that. And then you have to encourage senior citizens, those over 65, not to go out.
It's safer if you're an older American to stay inside. Now, I'm not saying you can't take a walk
or a hike or go down to the beach, get some fresh air. No, you can't. But it's better if you don't
go to the restaurant for a little while, all right, if you can get somebody else to go to the grocery
store for you. It's better for you. Because overwhelmingly, the people that are dying are over 65.
In fact, in America, just 3% of every million die. I mean, that's very, very low. But a lot of people
get the contagion. I mean, we're going to hit 100,000 deaths soon. We got a million four
with the disease that we know of. But again, it's a nation of $330 million. A government cannot keep
printing money and sending it to us. Now, I know the Democrats want that, but that can't keep
happening. We got to get back. It's going to take a while I get back. Not going to be overnight,
but we got to make things available. Have to. This is not an option anymore. All right, Dante,
let's take a look, unemotional.
the Georgia situation because Georgia and Governor Kemp, they were the ones that said, look,
we're going to open them. And as you know, Governor Kemp was attacked, I mean, brutally attacked
by the left. And I'm not going to go over it in great detail, but you know the left does not
want to open the economy. And that's because they want Trump to lose. But let's stick with Georgia
for now. So today is May 20th, right? And yesterday, because this is the latest data we have,
3, 580 new cases of COVID in state of Georgia. 500 new, okay? On the 12th, a week ago,
there were 863. Now, Georgia's been open that long, even further back. So the cases in Georgia
you're going down. You're not going to see that. You turn on TV news tonight and you see that.
But if they go up, you'll see it. Now, in Texas, you're opening up a little bit slower than
Georgia, but it takes a bigger state in four major cities. All right, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio,
and Lubbock, you know, Dallas, Fort Worth, the Metroplex. So on May 19th, almost 1,300 new cases.
on May 12th, 1,360. It's flat in Texas, flat. So there is no data that says when you open the economy
in populated states, you get an immediate spike in the disease. That data does not exist.
That's a good thing. Now, if a place like Vegas opens up and you see a big spike,
remember, they're inside gambling there. That's going to be page one, that's going to be this,
and that might happen. And if it does, then the governor in Nevada is going to
to shut them down. Then I have to do that. You are listening to a free excerpt from
Bill O'Reilly.com's No Spin News broadcast, where you can actually see me. We'll be right back
after this message. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising,
trade war, shaking the markets, and meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold.

now why is the press rooting against reopening and i told you and everybody knows it's because
of don't trump but not everybody will acknowledge that all of the anti-reopening stuff is in
one precinct they hate trumpers will the tape the president is playing to people's feelings
we got to reopen you got to be back in school or you're not really open
It's been too long, and that's why states are reopening, Gov,
because it's not about the facts that are reopening them.
By far, the largest epidemic on Earth.
And with no sign that decisions about opening things up
have anything to do with the actual pace and toll of the virus
as it continues to rip through this country.
Is the U.S. reopening in a way that won't bring back a spike
in new cases and deaths in a few weeks?
So nobody knows that.
knows that. You know, and Tapper is the biggest, one of the biggest frauds I've ever seen in the
media. He masquerades of some kind of hard news guy. He's the biggest far left zealot you can
find. How could anybody answer that question? As I said, there will be casualties in reopening
the country. That's going to happen. But you can't not reopen. So these people who are
earning, lavish salaries, well, three of the people that you saw are, what do they care?
Well, there's somebody out in Missouri who owns a hair salon is making any money.
What do they care?
They don't care about you.
Couldn't care less.
Their ideology dictates.
And it's interesting because Disney runs ABC News.
And where's ABC News's coverage of the congressional Democrats opposing the litigation
for COVID, all right? Where is it? So Disney has to do it themselves, but there's no
coverage of it. Strange is a little strange because they think Trump's worse than the
pandemic. We'll be back at the final thought in a moment. Power, politics, and the people behind
the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast,
Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors,
lawmakers, lawmakers, and even the President of the United States.
These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world.

All right, the final thought of the day is nothing is certain in life, nothing. So here we are two months into the pandemic. In January and February, most high school and college grads are looking forward, right? To the ceremonies, the trips, the proms, all the fun that you've earned in four years of high school and four years of college. Now it's gone evaporated. And I feel so bad. I walk around my neighborhood. I see all the signs. Congratulations.
to the grads and all that. People do what they can. But it's really, really a heavy blow.
And most of us have lost things that we really wanted to do, vacations and trips and family,
reunions and on and on and on and on, plus all the other bad things that have happened to us
economically and socially. And none of us earlier this year had any, any clue. Nobody.
This would happen. The lesson is nothing is certain in life.
So you set yourself up, oh, I got it made.
Well, you don't have it made.
You can get a heart attack and die.
The odds are you won't, but what are the odds of the pandemic
would wipe out the American economy?
What are the odds of that?
10 million of one?
Happened.
Never take anything for granted.
Every day you wake up, you go,
I'm glad I got another day.
That's it.
It doesn't mean you don't plan.
You do plan.
Doesn't mean you don't save money you do.
You protect yourself because the future will arrive.
You might not be here, but the future is going to arrive.
All right.
The heavy odds are you will be here at least for 75 years.
But don't take it to the back, as they say.
And again, you grads out there, boy, I wish I had a magic wand.
Because you earned your degree and you earned all of the accolades to go with it
and all the celebrations.
and now, celebrations are gone.
We'll return to normal this time next year.
We'll be talking about the new president
or the present president who's re-elected.
But pandemic is going to subside.
See tomorrow.
