Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, if you're here listening, you know you don't want spin, right? You know that, Bill knows that, Bill does not mess with the spin. You want it straight. So here's a straight recommendation. I'm Mike Baker, former CIA officer, and every day on the president's daily brief, I do for national security and geopolitics exactly what this show does for the news. No agenda, no hysteria, no opinion, just the facts. We tell you what's happening, you decide how to think about it.
Starting point is 00:00:25 It's named for the brief that lands on the president's desk, and it runs every single day. 20 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes in the afternoon. Smart, fast, honest, follow the president's daily brief on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen. Welcome to the No Spin News Weekend Edition. Lots of stuff going on. There's new polling, though.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And we're going to give you the numbers. Brand new. We got John McLaughlin, who, in my opinion, is one of the best pollsters in the world. It's about the midterms and President Trump. So I think you're going to want that. As always, I advise watching this program with a pen and paper because the data is the data, but if you, you know, you want to. And if you are a concierge, remember to bill o'Reilly.com, you get a transcript.
Starting point is 00:01:16 So would you send you the stuff? So we got the new polling, but first the talking points memo, I'll look back at the correspondence dinner last Friday. And there's a reason I'm doing this. and not just partisan blather. Okay? This whole dinner was a setup. And I really don't like reporting this, but it's absolutely true. So I'm at the dinner in April, and the gunman is upstairs, and I went through it with you.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I was fairly close to that assassination attempt. And shortly after that, President Trump said, well, we're going to do the dinner again. I knew that I wasn't going to be there now because I was afraid of some loon, but because the whole atmosphere in the room, remember Trump had not done many of these correspondence, dinners, I didn't like it. I didn't like it. And I've been to dinners Obama, Bush the Younger, Bill Clinton. I didn't like this.
Starting point is 00:02:30 And it made me uneasy. So I was going to go no matter what. Not because I'm a partisan, but because I didn't want to participate in it. I could watch it better on C-SPAN than I could sitting at a table not getting a full picture. Okay. So Friday, Waldorf Astoria, Washington, D.C. used to be the Trump Hotel. Trump built it. Beautiful place. A very small crowd shows up. And they were surly. Not the woman who ran it. The CBS whiteout correspondent, I think she did a good job. I didn't get a bad vibe off her. but by and large the rest of them, because it was dominated by CNN and then the networks,
Starting point is 00:03:26 they hate him, Donald Trump. You know, and I don't, I've known Trump for 35 years. I'm not going to get in a brawl over people not liking Donald Trump, but I'm not going to sit there and say nothing if a person in American is disrespectful to the office of the presidency. So it was good, I wasn't there. Okay, let's put it that way. So here's a con.
Starting point is 00:03:52 If you watch the movie The Sting with Paul Newman and Robert Redford, this might remind you of the con. All right, so Trump had to know that he could have been Sebastian Manascalco and not getting any laughs from that room. No matter what he did, it was. They weren't going to laugh. They weren't going to have a good time. There was no sense of that whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Okay, it was, we hate you. Okay. But Trump is a guy who goes, all right, I'm going anyway because I want to go for whatever reason. Got it. Um, a lot of it is almost machismo. He didn't want to show, you know, you're afraid of them or whatever. At one point, he said, look, I'd rather talk to them. Maybe I'll get a better take out of it.
Starting point is 00:04:50 You'll never going to get a better take, Mr. President, ever. So the first setup was this. I have to tell you, if you had been in my living room watching, I knew it was coming. They give awards out, okay? And the first award is a Catherine Graham, used to be the owner of the Washington Post, award for courage and accountability. Who gets that award? The Wall Street Journal gets the award
Starting point is 00:05:23 for running a story that says when Trump was a younger man, far younger than he is now, he signed a birthday card to Jeffrey Epstein. That's essentially the story. Okay? Trump says he didn't do it. that it's a fraud.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Okay. It's in court. The president is suing the Wall Street Journal for what? $89 billion. I don't know. Some $10 billion defamation. Okay. The case is active.
Starting point is 00:06:02 It's in Florida. Here it by a federal court right now. Is it going to go forward? I don't know. Here's what I do know. The New York Times won two Pulitzer Prizes for journalism, reporting on a story that didn't exist Russian collusion. Two.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Story didn't exist. It was totally false. Times never gave the awards back? Nope. Okay, that's what I do know. The future of this thing? I don't know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:46 So there's the president. First lady, Melania Trump, smart enough not to show, sitting next to his staff. And all of a sudden there's these guys in the Wall Street Journal chomping up down. Who-ha, hoo-ha, yay, who we won the award for courage and accountability. Maybe. But certainly not defined yet. Besides, the Trump was gracious. He shook their hands.
Starting point is 00:07:22 He made a little gesture. That was amusing to me. All right. It was gracious. Now comes the hammer. So the people who put together this dinner, the White House Correspondents Association, knew that they were choosing people for these awards that would embarrass the president of the United
Starting point is 00:07:48 States. That is the con. That's called the fix is in. They knew that. Who do they bring up? Caitlin Collins. Okay, I got nothing against this woman. I think she's the best talent CNN has.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Okay? I think she's a hardworking woman. Nothing against her whatsoever. But she and Trump have an acrimonious relationship. Well, here we go. Caitlin wins an award for covering Zelenskyy and President Trump on the day the two had a fracturing. You remember that story more than a year ago. But they, you know, Zelensky and Trump did not get along that day.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Now they're buds. Okay. So Collins comes up, gets the award. Okay. I go, aha. Anybody could have gotten that award because so many people covered the story. But no, we're going to give it to Caitlin. She may have deserved the award.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I don't know. I don't care. But I do know this thing was rigged to bring her up to see if they could bait Trump into doing something, which he did not do during the dinner. After what he did. Attacked Ms. Collins. Okay. So she comes on up. And of course, you know, Wolf Blitzer. Wolf Blitzer should have been a seal, SEAL. That's what he should have been. Far and way worse than Caitlin Collins. Because Wolf Blitzer, in my opinion, is passive-aggressive. Collins is just doing what she thinks is going to get her success. That's what she's doing.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Collins is a work, I think, for Breitbart or something. But she's doing, she's trying to climb that Washington poll. All right. Now, I saw some of the coverage that Caitlin Collins did. It was good. All right. It was good. But big award?
Starting point is 00:10:19 Come on. So Trump didn't fall into the trap then. All right. Now, we trace, my investigators traced, who decided that Caitlin calls she get the award. This is great. This is how the whole thing was rigged. The first person is Jesse Holland,
Starting point is 00:10:40 who works at George Washington University in a media and public affairs department. He's not an ideologue, but he doesn't like Trump. All right? His quotes are, he's not crazy left, but he's clearly doesn't like Trump. Second was Charles Whitaker, Dean of Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism.
Starting point is 00:11:07 That's one of the top J schools. He attacked Heggseth, the dean did, but not Trump so much, but by extension. And then Amy Isman, assistant professor, the American University School of Communication. University is whacked out, crazy left. All right. And she said at one time, Trump is attacking and dismantling the First Amendment, press freedoms. You know, these you'll pull crap. So anyway, these are no, not friendly. There's probably one neutral, one really don't like them, but not going to say anything in one I hate them. They're the ones they gave Caitlin Collins the award. Now, after the show was over, and I watched most of it, it wasn't easy to watch it, but I did.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Then I knew within minutes that the hate Trump media was going to wail on the president. Go. Well, and just from a performance standpoint, and comparing it to previous presidents at these events, he bombed. He objectively bombed. The president, he wants to be lots of things, but he never wants to be boring. And this speech was boring. Attendees as they were leaving the ballroom, they were struck by how dull, how tiresome it was,
Starting point is 00:12:34 how it was a snooze fest. This felt so far to me like one of those awkward wedding speeches where the bride's father thinks he's funnier than he is and goes on way too long telling stories. Okay, just remember if any of those people working for the organizations in which they do, said that Trump's speech was good, their career is over. Done.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Okay? There are right-wing organizations in this country that if you go against right-wing orthodoxy, if you're a reporter or a pundit, you're done. So it's not just left. But those three, if they had said anything complimentary, finished. Okay? So just keep that of mind, and that's the memo. You're listening to the No Spin News Weekend Edition.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Latest polling. This is important now as the midterm start to creep up. All right, this is John McLaughlin poll. McLaughlin Works for Republicans. And he's got a whole bunch of stuff. I'm not going to give you the highlights of it. The first question is, Does the United States wrong direction or right direction?
Starting point is 00:13:59 Right direction 39. Wrong track 55. Okay? Which of the following statements regarding President Trump and his policies comes closest to your opinion? I approve President Trump and his policies 36%. That's been steady for a while. I disapprove of President Trump personally, but I like a lot of his policies. 13% that gets him up to 49% of the American public that will at least consider what the president
Starting point is 00:14:30 has to say it is approved president Trump his policy 47 so half the countries considers him half the country is written them all for whom would you vote for congress republican candidate supports capitalism 49 Democratic candidate supports socialism 36 That's an interesting thing. U.S. economy, not in a recession 53, recession 40. Thinking about 2008, Democratic primary for president, who do you like? Kamala Harris, 28%, Gavin Newsom, 17, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 10, Buttigieg, Kelly, 7. That's an open field.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I don't think Kamala is going to get it, but who knows? Who do you support on the Republican side? J.D. Vance, Vice President, 35. Donald Trump Jr. Wow. 16%. Marco Rubio 15. Nikki Haley 4 is DeSantis 4.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Iran. Agree or disagree. Iran should not be allowed to block, attack, mine, Stored ships in the Strait of Hormuz, agree 72, disagree 18. It's a big one, big number. Agree or disagree. The United States must finish the job once in for all with Iran. Agree 61, disagree 28.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Another big number. Agree or disagree, only United States citizens should be allowed to vote in elections. Agree 82, disagree 12. And finally, voters should be required to show a photo ID and casting a ballot. Agree 78, disagree 17. So you can see how out of touch the radical left is. But the media gives them all the attention. But regular folks have got the voting thing down.
Starting point is 00:16:38 They know. And Iran, it looks like there's plenty of support for the president. So joining us now in Blavent, New York, is John McLaughlin, CEO of McLaughlin and Associates. What's the most important number in this survey to you? The biggest turnaround was when you look at the generic ballot for Republican, Democrat, for Congress, the Republicans are trailing 46 to 44. But you read the hypothetical ballot we put in where we framed it and said,
Starting point is 00:17:14 do you support a Republican who's a capitalist who supports a, free market capitalist or a Democrat who's a big government socialist, all of a sudden the Republican lead goes to 4936. So they go from being behind by two to being up by 13 points, 15 point turnaround. And internally in those numbers, what's really interesting is when you look at, when you look at independence, they go from being down 16 the Republicans, top 9, 25 point move. When you look at moderates, they're down 37, 60 to 23, running against big government Socialists, they're 4135, 31 points. Women, they go up a net of 17 points, Hispanics. You go up from being down 5537 to being down only a point where it's virtual tie,
Starting point is 00:18:01 434, 17 point game. So if Republicans want to win, they need to have a contrast election and take the offense to the Democrats, which is hopefully what they'll do in September when they go to Dallas with a midterm convention. But you know that every Democratic candidate now, I'll side of the big cities like New York and LA are going to run as moderates now. Well, I'm not a socialist or I'm a democratic socialist or whatever they make up. They're all going to run that way. Nobody's going to run unless you're a real, you know, the guy in Michigan and, you know, you got your district almost locked.
Starting point is 00:18:41 They're not going to run on what they really believe. You know that. So how the Republicans isn't going to get through that? By the way, I'm not sure. It's like when we ran the Trump campaign, we had to take it to Joe Biden every day. I remember telling him Donald Trump. I said, every vote you can get is in his unfavorables.
Starting point is 00:18:56 You have to attack Joe Biden every day. And he said he did that. And at one time in Iowa, he told me in January, he says, I don't think he'll make it. And I said, you might be right. But while he's there, you've got to use it. And when Harris came into the race, he was like, I said, you're still ahead.
Starting point is 00:19:11 You just have to, she's part of the same administration. You have to compare. And with the Republicans, right now, the Democrats want to have a campaign where it's a referendum on Trump. They don't want it to be about them at all. They want it to be a referendum on Trump, whether you like them or dislike them. They don't want it to be about issues. And the Republicans for Congress, they need to run campaigns where they run on issues because Trump's not on the ballot. So they need their scorecards. They need their comparisons against the Democrats. And you're right. The Democrats are going to try to moderate.
Starting point is 00:19:43 They're going to try to say, but I have to care for more. But the Republicans have, the Republicans running for the House and Senate, they have to pay homage to Trump. That's 36% of a vote right there, Republican vote. They can't badmouth Trump. They can't. No, they can't. Well, most of them have gotten there because he endorsed them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 So his record of endorsements in the primaries is near perfect. So the base is totally united behind Trump, in spite of whatever, the media and some of these other you know, a pundits say, the base is united. The key is winning independence and moderates, particularly Hispanics, going back to, and the Republicans have to run on the issues to have those contrasts with the Democrats because Trump's not on the ballot. And Trump voters might stay home. Turnout for president was $155 million. They absolutely missed to help. Particularly if he needs a big win in Iran. I mean, that don't turn the polling upside down. The affordability thing is impossible.
Starting point is 00:20:49 You just, you know, you expect if Iran would capitulate or we would make them capitulate. But the price, worldwide prices, commodities would come down fairly quickly. But there's only three months left. Right. You know, so we've been screwing around since the end of February with these people over there. And they're threatening no children and wives of the president. You know, it's just insane. Yet there is a hard core that hate Trump more than Iran.
Starting point is 00:21:23 You know that. You know what I would do. Because I know you talk to Trump. I haven't talked to him in a while. You know what I would do if I were the Republican Party? I would put out a list of media names. I mean, you know, name them, who supported the communists, who supported like Mamdami and,
Starting point is 00:21:46 Cortez and the Nut in Maine, all these people. I just put the media list out. Just put it out. And you know why? Because that then would become the conversation right there. If the bulk of the American people don't want their socialism, and they don't, all right, why do you want it? And so you could, I'm not going to do it because I'm not a partisan player here.
Starting point is 00:22:12 But the Republican Party could do it. So there's a little tip for you, John. It'll go nowhere. Yeah, I know, sure. Look at, hey, Kathy Hockel in New York, she supported Mayor Mandami. Oh, you bet. And that's the first one at the, and all the people who are supporting Hockel now for re-election. Right.
Starting point is 00:22:34 A little list of, list of them. Because she's allowing Mammani to control the means of production. Exactly. We haven't done this story because it's a local story. And most people loathe New York and they don't want anything to do with it. But Mamdani says, oh, I'm going to lower food prices 30%. I'm going to open city-run grocery stores and you'll pay 30% less for what you're paying in the big stores now. Where's that money coming from?
Starting point is 00:23:08 He can't do it. He's not going to do it. Well, he may try to do it, but he'd have to slap more tax on, see? And Hockel sits up there in Albany already owing hundreds of billions of dollars, and the city owes, you know, I don't have the exact numbers, but the city's broke. Who's going to pay for that? That's where the seizure of private property comes in, because you can't do it any other way. So they're already, you know, saying if you've got an apartment,
Starting point is 00:23:41 more than $5 million, we're going to slap an onerous tax on you in New York. This is going to expense what communism does. This is what they do. But anyway, we get into New York weeds now. But you're right. You talk to Trump. Is he going to be happy with this poll? Is he going to believe the poll?
Starting point is 00:24:01 What do you think? He believes our polls. I mean, we have a pretty good track record. I told him that Hillary Locke was wrong in 2016. and in 2024, said we were going to sweep the battleground states and win the popular vote by two. In fact, if you go outside his office
Starting point is 00:24:17 in Susie Wiles' office, there's a poster framed of all our polls from the primaries and the general election in 24, and the polls were deadly accurate. So he'll believe it. He needs to do more to get his job approval up, so it helps the candidates running for Congress and Senate.
Starting point is 00:24:36 And he's trying, he's focused on government, But during the campaign, he had a 57% job approval on Election Day in 24, and he had a 51% favorable, and we won 50% of the popular vote. So the Trump voters are there, and they want to hear the message, and they want to get out and vote. But the Republican Party needs to listen to them, and they need to do voter ID, proof of citizenship, pro-growth tax cuts, secure the border, and definitely win versus Iran. None of this cut in Iran and too much. They got a lower prices too. And that's tied in directly with Iran.
Starting point is 00:25:16 John, thanks very much. We always appreciate you coming on. John's poll just out today, by the way. This is the first time most people are hearing about it. We really appreciate it, John. Thank you. This is the No Spin News Weekend Edition. Not a good day for Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Starting point is 00:25:34 He takes the fifth in front of a Senate subcommittee and looks guilty as hell. Guilty of what? We are going to tell you. It's a fascinating story. Also, we talk about Fauci on that. We'll do it live, our long form, with Dr. Oz. And that will drop tomorrow. He's got some insight into Fauci.
Starting point is 00:26:02 But this is a big story because it affected almost every American in this COVID situation. So let's begin. All right. So today, Fauci was called before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee chaired by Senator Rand Paul who thinks Fauci is a criminal. So that's what he thinks, Mr. Paul. The focus is that Fauci is a swamp creature. All right, he's been in federal government for, what, 35 years, something like that.
Starting point is 00:26:41 And somehow he was elevated to the top spot in the COVID situation. Okay. But the Biden administration, which propped Fauci up, remember, Fauci was Joe Biden's personal medical advisor until they moved him out, brought in the guy who also took the fifth as Biden's medical guy. So everybody around Biden was taken the fifth when it comes to Mitz. So the main controversy is that the United States government gave around $600,000 through the National Institutes of Health. to the Wuhan lab where COVID was constructed.
Starting point is 00:27:35 600,000 at least could have been a lot, a lot more. So we donated this money with the taxpayer to look at COVID. And somehow, the COVID virus escaped from the lab in a weaponized form. Okay? Chinese shut down any investigation. We'll never know exactly what happened. But Fauci was denying all of this. At first he even denied that
Starting point is 00:28:04 Wuhan lab got any money, but that was easily put aside. And then Fauci goes, well, it was animals that did it and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It wasn't a lab situation. It was. Those are two big whoppers. But remember, President Biden pardoned,
Starting point is 00:28:27 Anthony Fauci before Biden left office. I don't believe he signed the pardon. I think he used an autophead. I think his crew, Biden's crew, did it. But that's based on speculation. So Fauci knows that whatever he did, whatever misleading stuff he did, he flip-flopped on masks,
Starting point is 00:28:52 he wanted all the kids out of school, whatever it may be. Okay. It's on him because he was the top COVID advisor. But he can't be prosecuted. Okay. So this is what happened this morning. Go. Can you explain to the committee why you chose to fund this dangerous research in China? On the advice of counsel, I respectfully declined to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution. I respectfully declined to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Let's try something. What day the week is it today? On the divisive counsel, I respectfully declined to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution. So you're not going to get anything out of him. And in fact, his attorney was booted out of the hearing for a disruption by Senator Paul. 36 years, Fauci's been in government. He understands through his counsel that if he did start to answer questions, he's toast. The evidence is overwhelming against the man. Overwhelming.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Okay? So you're not going to say a word. You're never going to get anything out of him. So he flip-flops out wearing masks. He recommends social distancing and all of that stuff was bull. while European children were going to school, American kids weren't, and nothing happened to the European kids because COVID didn't spread widely among children. Now, he's a villain, he's a weasel, and I don't take any pleasure in saying any of that, but it's true. He's a swamp creature and big out of.
Starting point is 00:30:58 But not before Anthony Fauci was embraced by the liberal movement in the United States. Why? Why? I was skeptical of everything. Conservative, liberal. I don't want to be politicized. I want to go away. Okay? Why did the left love Fauci?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Very interesting question. Roll the table. I think some of the things that we forget about Dr. Fauci is not only that he was so present during, of course, the global pandemic. And I had trust in him. He helped solve our AIDS epidemic. He was on the front lines when we needed him most. I'm an optimist. And, you know, I think that the scientific and public health endeavors in this country have fueled us for so long. And obviously, thanks to people like Dr. Fauci got us through some really tough years, not just COVID, but going back to HIV-AIDS and other things. So he has a base of operations that continue to this day.
Starting point is 00:32:10 And so once Paul dropped the subpoena that Fauci had to appear, Fox News mentioned it 343 times. Might have been a little overcooked, but CNN and MS Now mentioned Fauci being forced to appear 11 times. There you go. Hello. Okay. The worst of the worst is CNN's Abby Philip. Go. I think one situation that, frankly, where we saw the government was certainly obfuscating, didn't have any transparency, was Anthony Fauci, who were getting his, for getting his diaries today, where he was purposely obfuscating about Anthony Pauci.
Starting point is 00:32:59 That's actually, that's actually something where we know he was purposely obfuscated. We're sitting here talking about Americans who were killed in theater, okay, as a result of a war. We are not going to pivot to Anthony Fauci's diaries. Why not? I mean, the point of the matter is that transparency is lacking, so Abby Phillip believes, on the Iranian casualties. So what Linda Moynihan, Lydia Moynihan said was, well, happens all the time.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Even something like COVID, there was no transparency. as he looked at Anthony Fauci, and then Philip goes, oh, and I can talk about that. Why? Why aren't you going to talk about it? We all know why. So there is kind of a protective net around Fauci, but that net is strong because of the Biden pardon. That's what's happening.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I've got to hear a lot about Fauci. I think he may be held in contempt of Congress. That might happen, but with the pardon, going to be tough to get through that. You're listening to the No Spinoos Weekend Edition. Here's a provocative question. Now, I know most of you don't care about New York City. You live other places. You think that New York gets what it deserves, on and on.
Starting point is 00:34:37 But New York City may collapse, fiscally. And if that happens, that'll ripple through the entire country. So right now the city owes $103 billion. Mamdani can't pay it. So the federal government has to pick up some of that tab through grants. And then Albany, state capital, has to pick up some of the tab. And Dami just keeps rolling things up, charging the taxpayer more and more and more and more. He knows he can't pay it.
Starting point is 00:35:12 He doesn't care. That's what communists do. They want to bankrupt the system. Population in New York is 8.5 million or so. It's hard to put a number on it because people come and go. 26% of New Yorkers are poor below the poverty line. 100,000 sleep in shelters every night. So this is not a prosperous city for the,
Starting point is 00:35:40 low wage earner. No. I mean, if you're in New York and you think you're going to be able to get by working in a bodega, you're out of your blanking mine. All right, you've got to go to another state. So the city announces Mamdami that they're going to buy five grocery stores. You're going to build them. Okay. The construction caused range from $30 to $70 million. There's not anybody in the construction industry to think that number is anywhere close. I figure it's about $150 million to build your own grocery store and then stock it. And the reason M. Dami is doing it is he wants to give away food
Starting point is 00:36:32 for 30% less of the cost. So he announces, well, who's going to pay for that? federal government's not going to pay for it. Starting point is 00:37:40 He's a corporate attorney. She is running for Congress on a Republican side. York 12, that's Jerry Nadler's district. Now they're held a seat in Congress with 34 years. And we're pleased to have Iran because it's so rare to see a Republican running against the Democrat when Democrats win almost everything in and around New York City. I'm sure you're aware of that. I'm very aware, Bill. It's an unfortunate commentary on the sad reality. We've been living in a one-party rule system for far too long for many decades in this city. And you can see it translating into the extreme degradation of quality of life. All we have to do is look around us. From the crime to the socialism, to the anti-Semitism, to the out-of-control cost of living, the one thing that New Yorkers agree on, Bill, is that this status quo is unsustainable. And people are very deeply concerned about the current direction of the city. That's why I'm going to win this election in November.
Starting point is 00:38:47 I don't know about that. I'm not sure that that analysis is correct when you have people who are so apathetic about this city and don't really care and they want entitlements. You're a young woman. I don't know how when you picked up an awareness of politics, but to go from Rudy Giuliani. Okay? In the 1990s, to Mamdani? That's a shocking, shocking move for the nation's largest town. How did that happen? How do you go from a Giuliani to a Mamdani? I think it speaks to the failure of our public education system, where now students aren't even being educated about the failures of socialism and communism and these radical ideologies that have never worked throughout history.
Starting point is 00:39:49 I think it also speaks to the extreme frustration a lot of Americans are dealing with. Affordability is an issue in New York City, but the problem is it's the result of the economic distortion being created by the very people running for office. So this is the deal bill. Do you like paying exorbitant taxes? Do you like paying five-figured tax penalties because you happen to own a second property in New York City? Do you like a mayor who's tripling down on anti-Semitic rhetoric and leading to anti-Semitic violence and hate crimes in the city? We have a mayor who's running New York City from the Edia Amin School of Despotism. I mean, he's from Uganda.
Starting point is 00:40:27 And you look at the crime situation. Crime is up in the city. I don't care what the statistics tell you. Quality of life crime is. up. Major crime like murder is down. But you ask a very good question, Ms. Schenkel. You say, how can people stand by? Well, the people that you mentioned don't pay taxes. They don't pay them. Okay. So they either dodge them completely or they're under the poverty level. So the government's actually paying them on their income tax when they file. They don't have anything invested in
Starting point is 00:41:08 New York City. A lot of them are jumping fares and subways and bus and article in Wall Street Journal. Okay, okay, you can give free buses. Why do you have to give them? They're already not paying it. And you can't force them to pay it because nobody will prosecute it. So you get you you have this deterioration. Look, if you study history, you know this. czar of Russia, it was one of the most heinous individuals who's ever lived. Horrible. Okay, and everybody in Russia knew he was horrible. And the communists got him out. They took over. In New York City, it wasn't that way. You had Bloomberg who was all right. You had Giuliani who was good, and the city prospered under them.
Starting point is 00:42:01 And now you've got the most extreme person in the world running the city. I still going, yes, I understand poverty. I understand 26% of the voters don't care. They just want free stuff. I got it. But the others should overwhelm that they should be voting for you in your district. But I'll tell you, Carol, you're up against it. You're up against it.
Starting point is 00:42:26 I am. And I can tell you my district is a different situation. New York 12 did not vote for Mom Dani in November. They were looking for something better. They want normal. They want quality. They want a positive alternative. And that's me. I'm a very different type of candidate than the typical Republican who steps up to run in this kind of a lopsided district. I've built my career in the private sector at the highest levels of corporate law in international central banking, both at the Federal Reserve in Washington and also at central banks around the world. anti-Semitism and standing with Israel are key pieces of my platform. This is what the people are looking for. And the DSA, this is a very dangerous radical group. And the Democrat Party is ratifying this kind of behavior right now. But my district bill, they want normal. And you look at the crime. I mean, under, under Mayor Giuliani, who is supporting me and who has endorsed me,
Starting point is 00:43:16 by the way, we had a zero tolerance policy. And you see the effects. There was relatively no crime. And under Mamdani, it's a 100% tolerance policy. in a coddle the criminal situation, it's really got to end. And on the Democratic side, my opponent is vilifying law enforcement. He wants to abolish ICE. I mean, this is radical stuff. But have you anybody giving you a hard time as a machine, a Democratic machine in New York giving you a hard time? Anybody come after you? Not yet, Bill, because in their minds, this race is done. My opponent,
Starting point is 00:43:51 I don't even know if he's campaigning anymore. I think they think this race is over since the Democratic primary happened in June, but we are just getting started. There has been an overwhelming grassroots movement of support for me, not only among Republicans and conservatives, but among Democrats and independents who are so fed up with the status quo. And again, the state of the Democratic Party that's ratifying this behavior. And my opponent endorsed Mom Dani. He supports Mom Dani. He's completely caved in on Israel and the anti-Semitism issue. He's never called out mom donnie for any of the anti-Semitic rhetoric. And you know, the minute he gets elected, if we allowed that to happen, he's going to bend the knee to Mom Donnie and appease the radical
Starting point is 00:44:32 left because his only goal is to get elected and stay elected. Otherwise, he knows he's going to go the way of Dan Goldman. So we've got to nip this in the bud bill. And New York City is worth saving. I truly believe we're still the greatest city in the world. But we got to act like it. We have to get leadership in there who really reflects those ideals and who really loves our country and wants to preserve New York City as the center of global enterprise for generations to come. That's what I represent. And we're going to save New York City by acting like winners, by thinking like winners, not by acting like victims and dependents. So we're going to get it done in November. All right, Caroline. Thank you very much. You're coming on and your opponents,
Starting point is 00:45:11 welcome to. We'll never see them. Okay. But we're fair. If he wants to come on and defend MAMDani, we're willing to hear him. Good luck. Thanks for coming on tonight.
