Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly, how you doing? Good, Mark. Thanks for me back. Hey, you talked to the president the other day. I know you talked about it on television, but give us a little insight into that conversation. So Monday morning, you know, I'm puttering around and trying to get the day organized. Phone rings. It's not a number that I recognize, but I pick it up. And it's, is this Mr. O'Reilly?
Starting point is 00:00:26 I said, yes, it is. And he goes, this is the White House calling. Do you have time to talk to the president? Now, that was a tough decision. Do I have time? Should I have him call back? So it was an interesting conversation, but right up front, I said, look, is this on the record? Can I use what you say?
Starting point is 00:00:47 And he said, yes. He went off the record for about a minute later on. And we discussed his, first of all, he wanted to know all about the book, the United States of Trump. By the way, we just posted the press release where it was just put out on it, and the cover of the book is on Bill O'Reilly.com. But I'm not going to tell them what's in a book. I mean, come on. I said, you're going to really be interested in it.
Starting point is 00:01:15 You didn't say you're really going to like it. No, because I don't know whether he's going to like it. It's a history book. It's about his history. And as you know, because you're dialed into New York. I mean, Donald Trump has had a lot ups and downs, ins and outs. A lot of, he's one of the most fascinating figures of history. And I've, you know, written eight books on the killing series that I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:01:44 I mean, the guy is just what he has done and what has happened to him. It's just amazing. So I don't know if he's going to like it, but the one thing he'll never be able to say is it's fake news and unfair. because there's no anonymous sources and it's all documented and it is fair yeah listen I've known for years
Starting point is 00:02:07 you've known him as well as anybody and I've always you know when he was the biggest guy in New York the most famous guy you figure that's it you can't get any bigger next thing you know he starts doing his own TV series then you say with number one TV he can't get any bigger every time I say that he gets bigger although now he's president of the United States
Starting point is 00:02:23 I really think this is it this is the pinnacle right yeah the only two people who could do what he did, him and Oprah. Oprah could have done it. And those are the only two people in this country of 335 million people who could have had no political background at all, no party backing at all, and become president of the United States. You really think Oprah could have done it? Yes. But when she left the daytime show and started her own network, that kind of fizzled. Yes, but it's more about the presentation than it is about Oprah. Yeah. But Oprah is loved by millions of millions of Americans. And I think had she hired the right advisors,
Starting point is 00:03:13 she absolutely could have gotten a Democratic Party nomination and could. Now, it's too late now. Yeah. But she could have, and she might have won. Wow. Not a lock, but she might have. Well, check out Bill O'Reilly.com. It's a big book on the president's coming out in September.
Starting point is 00:03:31 So what else did you talk about China with the president? Yep. That was his headline. He wanted me to know that he's close to a Chinese deal, which would be fantastic for the United States. And, you know, if that happens, that gives him a huge, advantage in the upcoming re-election. Today, CNN puts a poll out, so 70% of Americans believe the economy is doing well, and he gets credit for it.
Starting point is 00:03:59 That's going to override a lot of the personal stuff. So if he makes the China deal, and that gives him another year of robust economic growth, whereby we would be able to sell many more products to 1.5 billion Chinese, you know, he's going to go in very strong. Yeah. Also, to his advantage, the Democrats keep coming up with one nut after another. What is this Beto O'Rourke? What is it with Democrats and very tall prep school kids married to wealthy women that they just swoon over? You know, I don't understand the O'Rourke phenomenon. Maybe just America loves Irish guys. Maybe that's it. I've never heard the man put forth a solution to any problem. So he's a three-term congressman from El Paso, no legislation under his name.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Nobody can pinpoint what he really stood for. It's a lot like Barack Obama, and the Senate really didn't do much. But, you know, I've listened to O'Rourke, and even when he was campaigning against Ted Cruz, I mean, you didn't have any solutions. It's all a bunch of, you know, liberal rhetoric. Oh, we need to do this, and everybody needs to be equal, and that. And he's apologizing to the joker, you know, that he said, which was a cute joke about his wife.
Starting point is 00:05:18 I mean, is this the guy he wanted to go up against ISIS? You know, he can't even say a joke, and the woke crowd goes crazy. And, oh, I'm sorry, I'll never do that. You know, I don't know if this is the kind of guy you want to go up against Little Rocket Man and the Chinese premiere. He's John Kerry all over again, we'll say whatever you want to hear, take both sides of an issue, apologize like crazy. Democrats have been down that road before.
Starting point is 00:05:44 They know it's a dead end. Yeah, I don't think O'Rourke is going to get any traction. I still see, as we discussed, Biden as a frontrunner, and he'll throw Kamala Harris on a second to get the woke people all psyched up. That's how I see it coming down. But look, anything could happen. I mean, nobody thought Barack Obama would win. Nobody thought Donald Trump would win.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And they did. So you don't get cocky about these things. Hey, I'm watching these Sunday shows, and they all open with New Zealand. the massacre, the horrible. But trying to tie this to Donald Trump, they don't even try to look like newscasts anymore. It's just democratic activists at work. Yeah, it was pretty lame to try to associate the United States in any way
Starting point is 00:06:28 with the New Zealand mass murder. It didn't go very far. I mean, it was even liberal said, you know, maybe we don't want to do this. but the fact that they tried was pretty abysmal it's interesting I get the overnight ratings for the cable news every night
Starting point is 00:06:48 MSNBC is losing ground fairly rapidly now and it's because there isn't that threat to Trump that they exploit every night it seems to be like now when Mueller comes out all the cables will go up a little bit just because of that report
Starting point is 00:07:05 but MSNBC's taking some water pretty quickly now No, they're fighting back hard. They did a whole hour with Kirsten Gillibrand last night. If that doesn't... Oh, my God. I mean, there's a woman who absolutely has no principles whatsoever. Look at her congressional record in New York, and she's 180 degrees opposite now.
Starting point is 00:07:26 So I guess she's woke or whatever this dumb thing is. But I'm looking at somebody, and I'm going, you know, you need to explain this. And, you know, if you're an opportunist, then just say you're an opportunist, be honest about it. But she's changed on almost every issue. I mean, that's not something really I want to get involved with. Hey, did you talk to the president all about the Mueller report? Everybody thinks it's done. Yeah, he doesn't know when it's coming out. He doesn't seem to be too worried, but he did say to me that Mueller's not a friend of his and implied that he's going to take some hits, which I think is true. But I don't think there's going to be any big
Starting point is 00:08:03 headline that Trump did this or that. I don't think that's going to be in play. Would you I agree. Nobody's been investigated more in Manafort, and he was not charged with anything, having anything to do with Russian collusion. So if there's nothing with him, there's nothing with Russian collusion. Yeah, well, he was only with the Trump campaign for a short time. You know, look, the thing should be out shortly, and then I hope we can put this behind us. This is not good for the country. It's just not. And I think everybody should acknowledge it. Hey, you should watch Bill O'Reilly every night. You can go to Bill O'Reilly.com, sign up.
Starting point is 00:08:38 there watch what do you got for television tonight um we're going to do a whole bunch of things tonight uh there is a uh report out that most americans cannot afford a 400 emergency bill so if you get hurt or something happens to your house you don't have 400 bucks to pay that bill and i'm going to explain why that is because this is something that's not being addressed when we talk about the economy and we talk about income redistribution and inequality. There's a key to it making money. And I'm going to, that's my lead story tonight. All right. That'll be interesting.
