Bill O'Reilly here, and I'm warming up. Stand by for the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition, but first. On this Friday, I received a big reaction to my TV segment about righteous anger. That is the concept whereby an individual displays extreme annoyance over an incident or personal behavior of another person. Parental discipline can be righteous, of course. Defending yourself against a threat, righteous? so does trying to write an obvious wrong. There is a reason the New Testament features Jesus

overturning the tables of merchants on the floor of Jerusalem's biggest house of worship. That display of righteous anger is very vivid in the Bible. But caution. Prisons are filled with inmates who claim legitimate anger after breaking the law. And here the old cliche comes in. Two wrongs do not make a right. In order to be truly righteous, you have to control yourself. You have to harness your anger, not let it lead you to anti-social behavior. And that is a very hard thing to do at times. Take it for me. For a just cause

controlled anger can be a positive. But if it gets out of control, bad things will always happen. In today's America, every display of anger is subject to political correct criticism. That is foolish. Some anger is indeed righteous and should be displayed. But losing control is always a negative. Now this.
