In addition to scaring us, the infection is obscuring a number of very important things from public view, such as President Trump being

demoralized. Six months ago, the president thought his re-election was a lock. The Democrats were fielding weak candidates and the U.S. economy was vibrant. Then Presto, a plague wipes out three years of economic gains. Mr. Trump gamely tried to keep things stable and has succeeded in preventing a market crash. But the press is blaming him for the continuing COVID horror, and some voters are it. That has stunned Donald Trump. Then there is the rise of the very dangerous radical left movement, which is hiding behind the pandemic panic and wrapping itself inside the legitimate justice protests.
