On this Thursday, I am thinking about the Wall Street Journal editorial that suggested President Trump should allow liberal cities like Chicago, New York, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle to collapse under the weight of mayhem. The problem with that analysis is that innocent Americans are getting killed and hurt in those places because of incompetent leadership.

And every president's primary obligation is to protect citizens. That is why we have a federal government. Under the Insurrection Act, the feds can move into local places where violence is threatening life and property. Liberal politicians and TV analysts who say differently are deceiving you. The law is clear. The problem for Donald Trump is that Democrats in some chaotic cities will work against federal agents, potentially making the situation even worse. Also, Democrats believe the more unrest there is in America, the worse it is for the president in the minds of non-aligned voters. But I think a show of strength against violence and anarchy will help President Trump in popular opinion, because his opponent, Joe Biden, would not control the chaos. I could be

wrong on that, but I believe President Trump is going to run on law and order, and he may very well win on that. Now this. politics and the people behind the headlines.
