On this Tuesday, I am thinking about all the African-American children who are experiencing the current racial strife. The kids are hearing that their country is a bad place, and its presidents and founders said wicked things. They're hearing that the American system is unfair, and they don't have much of a chance in life. Sometimes it seems that grievances are unending, and some children surely see themselves as victims of a white power structure. Parents can overcome that perception, of course, and many African-Americans are not buying into America as a horrible place. But just 12 years ago, the kids weren't

hearing this stuff. That's because Barack Obama received more than 69 million votes. and became the first African-American president. Mr. Obama was raised without a father and his mother was often absent. He didn't have much money as his grandparents raised him in Hawaii. Nevertheless, because of his intelligence and drive, Mr. Obama attended Columbia University, Harvard Law School, and was elected a senator from Illinois. The American system made Barack Obama's success possible as the former president himself will tell you. Now, all of us should make sure that all American kids know the story of Barack Obama because it flies in the face of what we are hearing now from the radical left.
