On this Tuesday, I am thinking about Mel Brooks, who turns 94 years old this week.
Mr. Brooks is a genius and has provided laughs to folks all over the world his entire life.
But Mel Brooks is a satirist, and two of his own.
most successful films could not be made today because our culture is drowning in political
correctness. In 1974, the movie Blazing Saddles debuted, co-written by Brooks and Black
comedian actor Richard Pryor, among others, the movie mocked a racist western town that
hires a new sheriff, only to find out the lawman is African American. But the townsfolk do not call him
that, if you get my drift. Blazing Saddles was nominated for three Academy Awards.
Seven years earlier, Mel Brooks directed The Producers, another satire. This film,
lampooning the theater industry on Broadway. Ironically, the movie was later turned into a
real play that became a huge hit. In the producers, Mel Brooks mocks the gay lifestyle and cross-dressing,
in a gentle way. Sorry, Mel, that's now unacceptable to the woke mob. We've reached a point in time
where the politically correct handcuffs have all of us confined. Every comic writer knows this
and fears the mob. In America, the thought police now have more power than the real police.
Now this. It's no surprise that current events might be adding more stress and less sleep. If racing thoughts
are keeping you awake, it is time for you to try Ebb. The Ebb Cool Drift System provides a cooling,
calming sensation to the forehead designed to counteract the way the mind and body react to stress.
Eb Cool Drift comes with a 60-night risk-free guarantee. So if you've tried everything from
pills to pillows, with little success, please try something new. Visit tri-eb.com. That's tri-ebbbb.com.
That is the Morning O'Reilly Update. More analysis later on.
