Hey, I'm Mike Slater, Philner for Bill O'Reilly.
Stand by for the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition.
But first, a word.
Hey, I'm Mike Slater, Philaner for Bill O'Reilly.
On this Friday morning, I am thinking about John O'Hara.
Have you seen the video of the Stanford Law students heckling the Fifth Circuit Court judge who came to speak?
The very short of it, a conservative judge went to speak to the students at Stanford Law School.
And the students hate him because in a case, he refused.
to refer to a man by his preferred pronouns of she her.
So he's a terrible bigot.
Now, it turns out that the criminal in question was arrested for the second time for receiving
child pornography.
But those activists don't care.
The judge is the bad guy.
So he went to speak and they heckled him and the whole thing.
And I thought of John O'Hara.
He was a famous writer in the 40s, 50s and 60s.
He wrote a letter to his 14-year-old daughter on her first day away at a prep school.
He wrote, you are entering into a new phase of your life.
Beginning with the day you read this, you cease to be a child.
Choose 14.
The adults at Stanford Law School need to hear that they are no longer children.
But as long as the school keeps treating them as children, they will never grow up.
And the worst part is it's bad enough for them.
They'll always be pathetic.
But they will force you to act in ways that make them,
feel good. You will be forced to cater to them. As John Cleese said, if you can't control your
emotions, then you are forced to control other people's behavior. These law students are going to
want to graduate and then control your life. Don't let them. Back after this. Power, politics,
and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist and the host
of the brand new podcast, Podforce One.
Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors,
lawmakers, lawmakers, and even the president of the United States.
