So happy Memorial Day, a underappreciated holiday in the USA.
Let's take a look at the sacrifice that Americans made in defending us.
The American Revolution started at all.
8,000 colonials killed, 25,000 hurt. A few years later, the war of 1812, 2,200 killed, 4,500 wounded.
Then the Mexican War in the 1840s, 1,700 killed. The Civil War, the absolute worst,
650,000 Americans on both sides killed 1.5 million wounded.
Spanish-American War, 385 Americans killed, 1,600 wounded.
World War I, 53,000 dead, 204,000 wounded.
World War II, 291,000 Americans dead, 670,000 wounded.
Korean War, 33,000 dead, 92,000 hurt, Vietnam, 47,000 dead, 15,000.
3,000 wounded, big number. Gulf War, 1990, 149 Americans dead, 849 hurt. The ongoing war in
Afghanistan, 1,33 dead, 20,000 wounded. War in Iraq, 3,800 dead, 32,000 wounded. Memorial Day.
Think about it. Now this. Most of us are not eating enough fruit and vegetables,
and it might be putting us at higher risk for all kinds of medical elements and viruses.
