Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here, and I'm warming up. Stand by for the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition, but first. On this Monday, I lived in Florida for a couple of years. Way back in the 1970s, I was teaching high school history in a place called Opelaca where you don't want to go. It's a very, very tough neighborhood. Now, back then, Florida was tranquil. It had only one professional sports team, the Dolphins, and it was pretty much a retirement village, a giant one. But now things have changed. Florida has emerged as the capital of American tradition, the land of opportunity
Starting point is 00:00:52 for this self-reliant. The most powerful. red state. Texas is right behind, but it isn't generating the numbers that Florida is. So what happened? Well, millions of Americans from places like New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, other states that tax you up to your eyebrows said, we can't afford this. We're going to Florida. And they brought with them a conservative ideology that took some time to be rooted. But now people are going to Florida in droves, pardon a cliche, because the liberal states are out of control. So what we have here is the ultimate red state, Florida. Right back. and the people behind the headlines.
