On this Tuesday, I'm thinking about the state of Texas. Recent polling shows Democrat James Telerico, leading Republican Ken Paxton by a few points, a major problem for the Republicans. The reason President Trump endorsed Paxton, the Attorney General of Texas, over the incumbent Senator John Cornyn, is because the president did not believe Cornyn was supporting the Save America Act.

Despite the polling, the GOP is actually getting a break because Tala Rico is a nut. You remember the four-gender thing that he was espousing? But here's the truth. It really doesn't matter which person you vote for, coming November, because the parties, not the candidates, are in control. Leadership now dictates what its members say and do. If the Democrats want to pretend there are four-genderers, that's it. If you dissent, they cut off your re-election money, although, to be fair, the four-gender thing has been repudiated. Well, that's where we are. And both parties play this.
