Hey, Bill O'Reilly here.
Welcome to the No Spin News, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, stand up for your country.
Say goodbye to February.
It's actually snowed here in New York.
I got about three inches where I am on Long Island, first time.
accumulations all winter long global warming no doubt about it here and it
wasn't too chaotic usually when it snows in an area where there are 16 million
people it's a lot of folks the New York City metropolitan area you know as
bumper cars out in a row but I think most people took the day off I know a lot of
the urchins did a lot of schools closed down they just said all right I'm gonna
bother with it by tomorrow be gone so
there is your weather forecast for this evening. So we have a brand new poll I just put up on
Bill O'Reilly.com. I usually don't bother with this, but this one's important and interesting
to me. So the polls about whether you who are watching and listening to me right now
have changed your opinion about Fox News based on the election lawsuit that's in play.
It's a simple yes or no poll question.
We'll give you the results on Thursday.
I'll go over it again.
I'll read you the exact question a little later on the broadcast,
but I thought you might be interested in that.
We hope you participate.
Now, tonight, the Talking Points memo is on the kick-off
of the 2024 presidential sweepstakes,
which has pretty much happened this week.
All right, so I told you that the polls are not going to really matter
on either Democrats or Republicans until about May.
And remember, this thing comes up fast.
All right.
So next year at this time, we'll already have a number of primaries done.
And so the campaign starts now so that the lesser known candidates can travel around
and get people, you know, interest.
And that will continue now for the,
the next 10 months. I'm not going to really zero in on this thing until late spring because it
just what happens now is going to be obsolete. But something caught my eye and it's a Fox News
poll. Now, as you know, because I'm as honest as I could possibly be, the Fox News poll is not
very good. It's unreliable. Over the years, it has just not been, I can't even remember.
member, okay, a time when it nailed it. When I was there, the polling was much better,
but they changed outfits or something. Anyway, I'm not vouching for the accuracy of this poll,
but it caught my eye. It's a thousand six registered voters, Democrat 43, Republican 42,
Independent 15. But the question, the only question, the poll that I'm interested in is a Republican
question. I'm going to read you a list of potential candidates for the 24 Republican nomination
for president. Please tell me which one you would like to see as a Republican presidential nominee.
So Donald Trump does very well. Forty-three percent. Ron DeSantis 28, Nikki Haley, seven,
Mike Pence, seven. And the rest of them really didn't register. So that's where we are now
on the last day of February. Now, this is very good news for you.
Donald Trump, who seems to be able to weather an incredible amount of storms and still maintain
a fairly high popularity rate in the grand old party, the GOP. It's a strong number for Ron DeSantis,
who has not declared that he's even going to run, but he is. We all know that. And 28% right
out of the gate, that's a strong number. There are people, I would say the majority of Republicans,
who would vote for either or, Trump or DeSantis.
They don't have any trouble there.
They're going to have to pick one, but they wouldn't have any trouble.
So this is where we are in the Republican sweepstakes very early on in 2023.
Let's take a look back eight years ago to where we were in 2016 in the Republican side.
okay same poll fox news um it asked i'm going to the shoot same question
216 republican nominees please tell me which one you'd like to see there donald trump got 41
percent ted cruz 38 a virtual tie john casick 17 nobody else really uh really mattered in that
poll okay so the republicans and donald trump
and Ron DeSantis. And remember, things are going to happen. All right, new people who come in,
all of that. But the Republican Party has a chance, a very good chance, in my opinion, right now
to take the presidency if it doesn't self-destruct. And that goes for Donald Trump, too.
I mean, he is a tendency to self-destruct. And he's got to really be the elder statesman
to consolidate what it looks like is his advantage here.
Now, on the other side, Joe Biden is already campaigning,
and this is a really interesting thing.
So Biden today, all he did was get in Air Force One
and fly over 15 minutes to Virginia Beach, get out,
and give a speech scaring everybody
that Republicans are going to cut back
entitlements for senior citizens, health care, on and on and on.
That's all Joe Biden did today.
With all the vexing problems we have in this country, he did a campaign stop in Virginia,
a state he needs, and he gave a scare speech.
Okay.
But the kicker is you and I paid for that speech.
So the White House budget this year is $16 million.
Biden's travel comes under that budget.
So he's got a freebie.
to go wherever he wants to go.
Now, I've got to watch it.
They can't go over the 16, and the 16 pays for White House personnel, for food, for the parties, the grooming of the grounds, all of that.
But Biden gets a free ride to campaign for president in 24 by saying, oh, I'm going out and giving this, telling all Americans, it's my job.
It's all bold.
It shouldn't happen, by the way.
The White House budget shouldn't be used for campaigning for the incumbent president because it gives that person a big advantage.
Everybody should see that.
Okay.
Now, is there a limit to any of the White House spending?
Could they jack it up?
We can't find any limit.
Now, when Trump is in the White House last year, he had $13 million at his disposal.
And I think he used all of it, and he did the same thing.
And Trump did the same thing that Biden's doing.
So he ran around and it came under the White House budget.

Patrick Basham joins us now.
So this Fox poll, did it mean anything to you?
Along the lines it meant something to you, Bill, that is, it's not a particularly reliable poll.
But what it shows you, when it shows Trump out in front so far of his potential Republican opponents,
contenders for the nomination, it shows you what good shape Trump may well be in.
because Fox historically consistently under polls Trump.
He does better, as he does many polls, especially in the Fox poll.
He does better in primaries or caucuses.
He does better in general elections than the Fox poll always and ever suggests.
So it's another piece of the puzzle the Trump campaign would like to see being put together
to show that they have a really strong, viable path to the Republican nomination
and ultimately, obviously, back to the White House.
Now, if you would just watch the media, say you were born in crime,
Croatia and just came over here, you would think that Donald Trump is finished through,
it doesn't have a chance, everybody hates him, he's going to be indicted 85 times if you were
just watching the media. That's what your impression would be. Where is his strength? How does he
poll this well? Who is standing by their man? Well, roughly one and two Republican voters
are standing by their man, and that is composed disproportionately, overwhelmingly of
rabidly pro-Trump mega voters. And if you want to drill down further, then you're looking at,
not exclusively, but disproportionately working-class voters. And of those, interestingly and
importantly, perhaps crucially for a general election, you're talking about increasing numbers and
percentages of Hispanic working-class voters and of African-American working-class voters, especially
male, younger male African Americans
and both male and female
working class Hispanics.
So it's a, it's
there's a ceiling obviously on Trump's support
as there is on any candidates, but his
floor, the basement on his support
is really quite high
and it's really enthusiastic and
very, very rabid in some cases, fanatically
in fact. That means that
it doesn't guarantee he wins the nomination
or a general election, but it means
that he is definitely a very,
very, very strong contender for the nomination.
has a base that's going to stay with him.
And I know it's my next question.
Have you seen any erosion in that base since he lost the election of 20?
Then it was January 6th.
Then it was a very, very weak midterm for the Republicans.
Has there been any defection from the Trump base, say, over to a guy like DeSantis,
who is a conservative?
He doesn't differ from Trump in worldview too much.
Not in the base, no.
They remember increasingly, from their point of view, how better things were under Trump and under Biden.
And also, they consider him to have been, shall we say, massaged out of the presidency by the system.
They think the system, broadly defined, has continued to go for Trump.
And so they're actually more loyal, even more loyal than they were in 2020 or in 2016.
Now, you do have conservatives announcing for DeSantis and other candidates, especially DeSantis.
I would say that they are, some of them, voted for Trump, supported Trump,
but I wouldn't say they were ever part of his base.
They are attend more to the establishment, a Republican, not necessarily the Rhino Republicans.
And so there was sort of flexible Republicans, soft Republican, soft Trump voters, I would say.
And so right now they think DeSantis is on the rise and Trump's on the decline.
I think they're wrong on the Trump part of that, but that's their calculus.
And so therefore they think DeSantis is the coming man.
All right.
part of this equation is the loss of Fox News. So Donald Trump is now no longer looked upon with favor
by the management of that huge operation. Is that going to hurt Trump? It won't hurt him in terms
of what the Wall Street Journal editorial say or probably, possibly even the New York Post coverage,
all part of the Fox Murdoch Empire. But Fox News coverage is important. It's important in pushing back
against usually pushing back against what most of the mainstream media is pushing, which
obviously is rabidly anti-Trump. And so it's unhelpful. I don't think it stops him, prevents him
from getting the nomination, or necessarily winning a general election. It just makes it a little
bit harder. It might be the best better way to put it. It would be a little bit easier if Fox News
hadn't decided to try to stand in his way. Okay, because FNC is going to endorse DeSantis. That's
where they're going. You can see it. And that's what we'll
happen. So I don't know how much that means, which is why I'm doing this poll, you know,
because I want to see what people, I would say that everyone listening to me and watching me right
now is familiar with the Fox News operation. And I don't know if it is as powerful as it was
before this whole election thing and before they did change their point of view, their political
point of view, which every organization has a right to, okay? Every news organization can, on the
editorial side, you know, endorse or whatever they want to do. There's nothing wrong with that.
I'd like to have a little more clarity in all of them, not just Fox. Final question for you.
When the debates will be this summer, okay, and the Republicans already made an enormous mistake,
yesterday when Rona McDaniel, the head of the RNC, came out and said, well, you can't participate in our debates unless you've signed a pledge to support whoever the ultimate nominee is.
That's insane. I mean, the ultimate nominee could change and things could happen and you basically holding people hostage there.
So the debates start in the summer. I don't know if they're going to be as crucial.
as they were in 16 when they put Trump over the top because there's no surprise element
everybody knows what they're going to get when Trump walks in. How do you see it?
Yeah, if Trump takes part in debates, I mean, he's not a technically great debate,
but he's an incredibly effective debate, as we saw in 16. And I would argue in 20 as well
against Biden. So his potential opponents and actual opponents on the Republican side,
they don't want to be part of that. Now, they want the exposure and they hope for that magic
moment when they quote unquote take down trump that's very unlikely to happen it's be damaged control
for them you'll probably steamroll over them so i actually think that the the the the non-trunk
the other candidates for the republicans they want to minimize the number of times they're
exposed by trump in that format so it could be a sort of counterintuitive way in which this plays
out on the least on the republican side yeah and trouble never sign a no you know that he'll
endorsed away because he never do that. That he wants to leave his third party, which would be
disaster for the country if he runs on a third party ticket, because that will put the
Democrats back into power. All right, Patrick, thanks very much. I really appreciate your
expertise and thanks for helping us out tonight.

Okay, so I stole something from Harvard over the weekend.
The Belford Center is part of the Kennedy School.
and, you know, that I attended there, they have a chart, and I thought it was fascinating about
Russia, Ukraine, and they call it a report card in the war. So the first part of the chart is
territory seized. Russia has seized 25,000 square miles, 11% of Ukraine. Casualties, Russia 130,000 plus
Ukraine, same. Okay, so they're equal in casualties. Civilian fatalities, Russia 25.
Ukraine's 7,200.
Impact on the economy growth, Russia's down 2.3%.
Ukraine's down 35%.
Loss of infrastructure, Russia doesn't really have any.
40% of energy capacity in Ukraine has been destroyed.
And displacement of civilians, this is a big one.
800,000 Russians have left the country.
That's enormous. I did not know that. In Ukraine, it's 13 million. 13 million have either left the country or moved to a safer area. But the Russians, 800,000. And most of those are draft age men.
Anyway, that's a chart that I thought you should see.
Janet Yellen, who is the secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton's old job.
She went to Kiev, and she gave the government there, Zelensky, heading it, of course, $1.25 billion.
And that's a nice gift, okay?
That's the first installment of our $10 billion U.S. aid commitment for humanitarian expenses.
So there's Janet.
I'd like her to come over in my house, and she doesn't have to really give me that much,
but I'll take what she's got.
So I thought you'd like to know that, Janet Yellen.
Germany.
Now, over the weekend, Saturday, February 25th, there was a giant demonstration in Berlin,
sponsored by the far left that says, we want to surrender to Putin.
It's called the uprising for peace.
And it basically says, well, we want negotiation, but Putin will negotiate.
So what they want is to surrender to Putin.
Now, Germany is a NATO country.
However, what people don't understand is Germany still has a very vibrant communist wing among the people.
Remember, East Germany was communist from 1945 until the Berlin Wall came down in what?
Early 1990s, late 90s, I don't have it off the top of my head.
But they were communist, all right, for 40 years.
East Germany. And a lot of the people remain communist. And that's what that was. Okay.
So, yeah, we like Putin. We want to surrender to Putin. I don't know how much you like him when he marches into East Germany.
Okay. On the Putin front, his best friend, who do you think his best friend is?
Actor Steven Seagal. Remember him? Roll the tape.
Okay, that's enough of that.
Okay, that's enough of that.
So, Segal is 70 years old, and he's Putin's pal.
And Putin gave him yesterday the order of friendship
It's a very big deal in Russia for his great contribution to the development of international
cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Hey, Vlad, you're lucky you didn't get kicked in his stomach over there.
And then Seagal goes, I can't even show this to you because it's so incomprehensible.
We couldn't even pull a clip calling everybody who hates Putin, and there are a lot of people
who do, Nazis, and Putin's a good guy, and he's right invading Ukraine.
And Seagal is an American citizen.
I think he's got dual citizenship, yes.
He's got citizenship in Russia and Serbia.
So he's got passports there.
But I thought you'd like to know that Stephen Seagal is Putin's best friend.
Chicago.
So they're voting today in the mayor's race.
I'll give you the last polling.
BSP research, know nothing about it.
um it has uh laurie lightfoot losing pretty big okay so a guy named paul valis 19% chewie
garcia 17 uh mayor at lightfoot 14 Willie Wilson 12 this comes out of northwestern university
another poll has um has lightfoot at 19 but losing again so she's going to lose but
Nobody's going to get more than 50% of the vote.
And so there'll be a runoff the top two.
I don't think she's going to make the top two because she is a disaster.
All right.
Chicago is a dangerous city.
People are fleeing Cook County.
She doesn't know how to run the place.
So I think, and I'm hoping, I would even pray that she's losing.
Get out of there.
You need somebody in Chicago to protect the people.
She will not.
All right.
Now, this is a disturbing story.
So the FBI keeps crime data.
All right.
And that's where you go, the FBI website, if you want to know what the stats are in America as far as crime.
So they're behind, all right.
we just got 2021 stats and this is based on a 2020 homicide clearance rate which means they solved the
murder okay somebody was prosecuted it's down a 50% okay the lowest level in 40 years so you've got a 50 50
chance to get away with murder in America right now in 1980 the homicide clearance
rate was 71%. So most killers got caught. Not now. All right.
Last 2021, there were 23,000 homicides in the USA. Okay. In 2019, there were 16,000, 425.
So you can see, because of all the progressive nonsense, the defund the police, all of that,
The murder rate skyrocketing, and they're not solving the murders.
And the clearance rates for African-American victims is the lowest.
Now, let me give you the why on this.
Once George Floyd, that tape came out, millions of Americans turned against the police,
most of them temporarily, but they turned against the police.
And the police were on the defensive.
And in cities like St. Louis, Minneapolis, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, New York, L.A., Baltimore,
Philadelphia, on and on and on and on, the city councils changed the laws and made it much
harder for police to clear murders.
And so they're not.
In addition to that, the open border of the Biden administration has drawn in more narcotics than any other time in history, and drug gangs control distribution of narcotics throughout this country.
They all have guns. And no matter what gun law you pass, they're still going to have guns. I hope everybody understands that.
these thugs go out and they just kill anybody they want.
That's why all this is happening.
And you'll never get a more vivid illustration of the why behind American murder than you just
got from me.
That is exactly what happened.
Now, in some places, they're trying to reverse it, but it's very, very hard as those
drug gangs are established.
They run, just like the Mexican car.
rentals run Mexico? These drug gangs run sections of cities. Now, the four worst cities in America
are Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans, and Milwaukee. They're the worst for murder per capita.
Okay? So that's what we have. Mayor Pete, so he's being audited for using too many private jets.
That's not fair. What I just said is not fair. He is being audited. And
It's because he used 18 private jets to fly around.
Okay?
So they're trying to figure out whether Mayor Pete needed those jets or not.
He may be innocent.
And my initial headline basically convicted him, but I wanted to see how most of the media behaves.
I don't.
So Buttigieg, he's a big global warming guy, and of course the private planes are big polluters.
But he says, quote, I mostly fly on commercial flights in economy class.
And when I do use our agency's aircraft, it's using a situation, we're doing so saves taxpayer money, unquote.
Well, we'll find out.
But Mayor Pete, 18 flights up in the air.
So I'd love to meet Mayor Pete at the airport taking a commercial flight.
I would, I'd have a few words for him.
CNN, smallest monthly audience in February, this month, because it ends today, in a decade, all right?
The shows that are collapsing are The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, the lead with Jake Tapper, no surprise, okay, and the CNN this morning program with Don Lemon.
those programs have collapsed.
It means they used to have a few viewers and now they hardly have anybody.
I don't watch any of them, so I can't tell you.
I know, I've told you about Tapper, horrible guy, bad broadcaster, no accident he's doing poorly.
Now, you may know they've hired Bill Maher, and I think they put him on Friday night for a half an hour or something.
he did okay
his last show is February 17th
he got 780,000 viewers
for CNN
that's pretty big
so I expect to see more
of him on CNN
and I think they're going to hire Charles Barkley
I think Barclay's going to come over there
because they're not going to
it's impossible for CNN
now to compete with the talent
they have
okay because they're not going to get any better
so they've got to bring in outside people
all right here's a poll
poll. So this is, to me, one of the most interesting polls we've ever done on, Bill
o'Reilly.com. That's where this poll is. Here is the question. Has the Fox News election
machine lawsuit changed your opinion of FNC? Has the Fox News election machine lawsuit change
your opinion of FNC? Yes or no? Honest poll.
You go there, you vote the way you want, and I'm going to cover this story in a fair way.
Okay, I mean, hysterical headlines against Fox News, you all know that, but remember, they're coming from Dominion, the people who are suing, and they haven't been cross-examined yet, those headlines.
So, you know, I know we don't have any fairness in the media, and I know people want to.
want to destroy Fox News. I worked there more than 20 years. They try to destroy me every day.
Every day. Made up stuff. Smearing. It was just, that was the worst part of the job.
Anyway, I hope you will vote in our poll, Bill O'Reilly.com. We will give you the results on
Thursday, okay? Smart Live. So there is a sweetener called
erythal erythal or something like that okay it's ery t h r i t-r-o-l and it's in a lot of drinks
and it's bad for you according to the journal of nature medicine it says that this zero-calorie
sweetener elevates heart attack strokes and blood clots oh so you know I've been
doing this don't eat the sugar or cut down on the sugar but I don't like the
sweeteners either now this erythia tall whatever it is is in Truvia that is the
coffee and iced tea sweetener T-R-U-V-I-A it's in there but the reason I
I got on to it was last summer when I was really hammering this sugar is the devil story,
and it is. I went to the grocery store, the upscale grocery store, to try to get drinks,
to sample drinks to replace Coke and Pepsi and Dr. Pepper and the sugar-laden drinks and the
iced teas. And I got a bunch of with this sweetener in it, and I couldn't drink it because the
aftertaste was so overpowering of this sweetener. I just couldn't drink it. And I went then to no sugar,
no sweetener, which has worked out for me. You know, a bunch of good iced teas and water is fine
for me. You know, you can put lemon and lime in the water. You can do a whole bunch of things.
So that's worked out. But I did try that line of drink. And I just, whoa, way too much. But
millions and millions of people do drink it. So if you're one of them, be careful.
This day in history, February 28, 1692. Whoa, 331 years ago, the witch hunt begins in Salem,
Massachusetts. You knew I was going to do this, because I'm writing, let's get it up there,
killing the witches, the horror of Salem, Massachusetts. In fact, later this afternoon,
after I finished taping, Martin Dugard and I are writing almost the last chapter of this thing.
And it is one of the most fascinating projects I have ever been involved with.
So, on this day, young girls in Salem started to accuse formally people to be witches.
And they went into the court.
And they said, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, it says, bewitched us.
demonic possession. And the court said, okay, we'll arrest them. Crazy. It was insane. But there was
a secret reason why many of those people accused witches were arrested, and you will learn
that reason in my book. It wasn't what it appeared to be all the time. But anyway, 20 human
beings were killed as witches executed by the Massachusetts Bay authorities, 20. And in Europe,
it was way more than that. And so that all began 331 years ago today. You could pre-order
killing the witches. We have got it for you. It'll be out September 26th, I believe.
You will love this book. It is mesmerizing.

There's no doubt they have.

Month and a half since the House went GOP, okay, Congress cannot remove Mayorkas unless they impeach him and convict him.
And that'll never happen in the Senate, as everybody knows.
So that's off the table.
Hunter Biden, they got to compile information.
Okay, I assume they're doing it.
I don't know for sure, but I assume they're doing it.
They have to do it.
They don't do it.
It's going to be a pretty big scandal.
So you've got to be patient.
This is a lumbering bureaucracy in D.C.
Nobody could even imagine how lumbering it is.
Dave Jones, Chandler, Arizona.
Why is Pompeo not in the mix on the Republican ticket?
Because he's not well known yet.
I mean, they knew him as Secretary of State, but he's not showing up in the polling yet.
He's got, number one, he hasn't declared.
I don't know if he will, because he's got to raise a lot of money, and I don't know if he will.
But he's smart.
He could run the country.
Frank Feely, a Brambleton, Virginia.
Do you think President Trump will run as a third-party candidate?
I can't predict that.
No, you can't predict what Donald Trump will or will not do.
Nobody can.
And here's a very special letter that I'm happy to read from Doug, okay?
Bill, if you are reading this, we are listening to the no-spin news.
Myself and my lovely girlfriend, Patricia Marie, we are taking a long car ride to a family's home as you speak.
I have a ring in my pocket.
It is an engagement ring.
That's right.
I'm proposing on the no-spin news to Patricia Marie.
Would you encourage her to say yes?
Doug, I'm going to take a chance to say yes.
I hope she does.
And I'm happy to do this for you as a concierge member.
Doug is a concierge member.
I'm happy to help him.
So let me know what happens.
All right, and I'll tell everybody.
All right, team normal.

V-A-R-L-E-T.
Don't be a barlet when writing to me, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com.
Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com.
Name in town, if you wish to, O'Pon.
Back with a final thought about Satan in a moment.
So as I mentioned, I'm writing, killing the witches,
and this is about demonic possession.
That's what it's about.
You strip it all down.
So in Salem, Massachusetts, Massachusetts Bay Colony,
the Puritans came over and they believed in demonic possession.
They believed that the devil could come in, make you a witch, which is due the devil's bidding.
That's the pipeline.
Puritans believed that.
People who came over on the Mayflower, primarily Puritans, believed it.
In Europe, they believed it.
Now, there are 32 mentions of demonic possession in the Bible.
This is the stuff that we get for our book.
16 in the Old Testament, all right, way back, Moses mentioned it, and 16 in the New Testament.
If you're a Bible reader or know anything about the Bible, Jesus cast out spirits, demonic possession.
In modern times, and we do get into modern times in killing the witches, so we get all through that, and then we kind of accelerate it to now.
most people don't believe in an active devil satan demonic possession they don't believe that there is
an malevolent presence on this planet that can actually hurt you so dugart and i have been
investigating that i've got to tell you some there's some unbelievable stuff about it
It's very quiet because the media, of course,
some in the media even deny that Jesus existed.
That's how out there they are.
So you've got to be kind of careful,
and we are.
We're documenting everything.
But I believe it.
I do.
I believe there's a force of evil that's present on this planet.
Thank you for watching and listening to the No Spin News.
We'll see you tomorrow.
