Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News, Monday, November 27, 2023, stand up for your country. Some good news over the Thanksgiving weekend. The airlines did not melt down, as far as I know. We've been tracking that story, and even though there was some bad weather in the Midwest and Upper Midwest. It looks like everything was at least professional, and it's a far contrast of what has been happening.
Starting point is 00:00:40 So that's good news, and I want to report some good news sometime. I hope you had a nice time. Christmas is four weeks from today. So you got to get on it here. Always stay ahead. All right, so over the weekend, I didn't consume a lot of news. I always have to look at the wires and things like that, but it was all Israel, Gaza, Hamas all the time, because the news agencies, they just like lemmings. They don't know, they just go with whatever is obvious.
Starting point is 00:01:15 And there's nothing wrong with that. I mean, this hostage swap is fairly successful now. Hamas is releasing people that kidnapped women and children. It's unbelievable. And Israel sees fire is holding for a little while longer, and that's good news. And the overall protest situation is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. So this is a really bizarre story. In New York City, there is a high school, Hillcrest, it's located in Queens, troubled school. A teacher at the high school attended a pro-Israel rally last month. Okay? Some video captured his attendance. There was almost a riot at the school, and the teacher had to hide in a locked office to avoid protesters who were trying to break into his classroom, I guess, to hurt him.
Starting point is 00:02:16 All right, now these are high school students. All right, a couple of dozen cops had to go to the school to calm things. now because the school has a history of violence. And now this is the latest situation. Now this happened Monday, November 20th. Story didn't break in the New York Post, which is really the only vehicle that covers local news in New York City anymore until Saturday the 25th. Anyway, very disturbing, okay, that high school kids would get involved at this kind of a level where 24 police officers have to go to the school to protect the children to protect the
Starting point is 00:03:02 teacher. All over the country, you know that this is going on, college campuses. It's the first time we've heard about this at this level in a high school. So at Harvard, Columbia, George Washington University, probably the worst in D.C. Brandeis, Brown, MIT, Tufts, Tulane, University of on and on and on and on there have been you know intense pro Hamas demonstrations now what is going on here Hamas is a terror unit all right it's like ISIS or al-Qaeda they just murder people innocent people and you got people ah now they do it under the cloak of well we're for the Palestinians no okay because
Starting point is 00:03:56 is governed by Hamas. Hamas is it. There is no government there. Amos calls the shots. And in poll after poll after poll, the people in Gaza, 2 million support Amos. Right?
Starting point is 00:04:16 They're like countries that harbored al-Qaeda. We had a knock out in Afghanistan. They were supporting al-Qaeda. and blew them out the Taliban. It's the same thing. There's no difference. Okay, but here now we have all of this anti-Israel stuff because Israel is a bad, bad country. Okay, so let's step back for a minute and look at some of the history of it. Israel believes that Hamas wants to destroy it, which is true. There's no negotiation factor. Hamas wants to murder Jews and destroy Israel. Amos is backed by Iran, which has the same goal. Hezbollah has the same goal.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So if you're running Israel, you've got to have protection for your people. Seven million, I believe. Okay, you got to protect them. And that means restrictions on the movement of people. There's a big wall, as you know, and the restriction of goods. You've got to watch what goes in and out of Gaza. Because we all know that tons of weaponry has gotten in there. Well, Israel has got to watch that. So there are restrictions. And then the Palestinians say, well, we're being persecuted. All right, this is, oh, it's crazy stuff. To me, the one key factor in Israel is that anybody who lives in that area can become an Israeli citizen. So if you're in Gaza, you know, West Bank, you can apply for citizenship, and all of that,
Starting point is 00:06:04 have, you know, there is a pathway out of there. Okay. Now on the Hamas front, the guy named Yawa Sinwar is the top terrorist. And this is, this is Osama bin Laden. That's who he is, this guy. All right. Now, they haven't gotten this guy. They're looking for him. Obviously, Israelis will kill him if they get him. But again, there's no detent. There's no negotiation because Hamas isn't a government. It's a movement. Anyway, that's what's happening over there. If you were to ask the students at this stupid high school in Queens, they wouldn't know that. I wouldn't know anything about it. And I'll submit to you the Harvard students wouldn't know anything about it. And then you have to go back to World War II and understand
Starting point is 00:07:02 why the state of Israel was mandated by the United Nations after the war. So at least six million Jews were slaughtered by the Nazis and the Russians. I mean, Russians don't have any used for Jews, okay? And in Central Europe, Jews were at risk. They were at risk in Ukraine, Romania, the Iron Guard, and there were at least 250,000 Jews after the war who survived had nowhere to go. Their homes were confiscated. They hadn't had any money. They were just wandering around. Quarter of a million. All right. So Jews, after the Allies defeated the Germans in Europe were still at risk. They had nowhere to go.
Starting point is 00:07:57 So the United Nations wisely said, okay, go to the homeland where the Jews originated, which is the Israeli-Palestinian area. Now, the problem was that Arabs were living in that homeland, along with Jews and Christians. Because Jerusalem is the holiest city for three religions. Well, Mecca is the holiest city for the Islamic crew, but Christians and Jews. Okay. So the state of Israel is created out of a British protectorate. Remember, the British had the authority in the Middle East.
Starting point is 00:08:38 There was no Palestine country. The British oversaw the whole area. And after World War II, the British gave the land. and to Israel, and a country was formed through the United Nations. Harry Truman, President of the United States, was the first to recognize the country, and then everybody else followed. That's the history. Again, I ask you, you think these idiots at the high school knew that, or these college kids know that?
Starting point is 00:09:06 You think they know anything about it? You think they read Killing the SS, my book, Killing the SS? If you want to know about Israel and Jews and all of that, you read Killing the SS. If you don't read it, you don't want to know. You don't want to know. Be simple as that. You don't want to know. That book, 300 pages, lays it out.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Okay. So now we have a situation where we have a contagion. Once you start with this, and I went through this in the Vietnam War protest where I was in college at the time, once you start, then all these people come in, they want to get involved too. It's like a mass thing. It's like shoplifting, and we'll do that with that. a little bit later on. You get mass shoplifting, you get more shoplifters, looting. You've got looting, you're more looters. Okay? So that's what's happening. This is a contagion. And you've seen
Starting point is 00:09:58 all these people, and again, they don't know what they're talking about. And they don't care to know because it's not hard to find out. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford Gold. And you can do this.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Get precious metals delivered to your door or place in a tax advantage, gold IRA. They'll even help you roll over your existing IRA or 401K, tax and penalty free. With billions in precious metals delivered thousands five-star reviews and an A-plus from the Better Business Bureau. You can trust American Hartford Gold as I do. Starting point is 00:11:17 I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the world's politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. So there was a four-year-old girl, horrible story, named Abigail Idaun, who was kidnapped by Hamas and held hostage. Hamas killed her parents right in front of her.
Starting point is 00:12:01 All right. Now, she was released, and here's what President Biden said. Go. Two days ago, two days ago, one of our fellow Americans. a little girl named Abigail, who turned four years old. She spent her birthday, that birthday, at least 50 days before that held hostage by Hamas. Today, she's free, and Jill and I, together with so many Americans, are praying for the fact that she is going to be all right. She's not going to be all right.
Starting point is 00:12:36 You don't watch your parents get murdered in front of your eyes. She'll never be all right. okay this is what terrorism does this is what terrorists who they are the girl's never going to be all right i hope she gets through all right i agree with the sentiment you pray for her but she's never going to be all right so when you bring it down you got a group that's kidnapping four-year-olds murdering their parents in front of the girl's eyes and then you've got people out there sympathizing with this group, saying, no, that's okay because Israel's worse? No, not in my presence.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I would go out of my way if I heard somebody do that, and I don't care where I am. I go out of my way. All right. So, as you know, President Biden was in Nantucket for the Thanksgiving break, and he attended a Christmas tree lighting. that's a tradition in Nantucket Town. Here's what happened there, go. You have a constitutional right to be a moron. It's protected in this country.
Starting point is 00:14:16 And there they are. It really is depressing. All right, so President Biden didn't do anything today. I mean, you know, I had to get over his vacation. He gave a few remarks about supply chains, mattered not. He does what he usually does, which is nothing. A journey is now from Cedarville, Ohio. is a guess we've had on before, very smart guy.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Dr. Glenn Dewar is a professor of international studies at Cedarville University and an expert in political science. So you're on the scene, I'm not. I used to teach high school, but that's a long time ago. I'm just appalled at the ignorance of these students in some of the finer schools, they used to be anyway, in this country. What is driving this, in your opinion? It's shocking in many ways because when we think about just the sheer lack of knowledge or just even desire to dig below the surface, even a little bit just to map out what you noted post World War II or just the way that Israel was ganged up upon in 1948 and 1956 and 1967 and 1973, really Israel has had to fight for its life and to create for itself a country that can be safe.
Starting point is 00:15:34 In some ways, it's been a hollowing out of the curriculum. History is taught less. And when it is taught, there's a lot of, or a real lack of ideological diversity, whether in high school, but more so in college, at the college and university level, just depending on the statistics, somewhere between one to three percent are ideologically conservative. Now, certainly there are many Democrats that can be pro-Israel and have come to the fore there. But when there's just a lack of that diversity intellectually, it leads to this type of situation. Moreover, on social media, just these little snapshots that will tell a very, very brief story.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And that's what's providing a lot of young people their information, rather than digging deep into the books, studying encyclopedias, things of that nature. I know it's difficult to travel. It's expensive to get to Israel. But if someone is on the ground, they will see an awful lot of nuance. Just you mentioned the wall. That wall is only 6% of the perimeter. The other 94% is a fence and 140,000 Palestinians daily cross from that wall into Israel to work to feed their families. And so there's an awful lot of nuance between those two major sides.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Yeah. Okay. But, you know, genocide and all this. This is the spouting of the progressive left. They're behind this. Why does the progressive left despise Israel, in your opinion? A big basis of it is anti-Semitism, and another side of it is jealousy. Israel came from nothing.
Starting point is 00:17:17 The desert has now bloomed. When you look at Israel and look at a number of its neighbors, and I give credit to a number of those neighbors who have signed peace agreement, with Israel, but it's green on one side, and it's not green on the other side. Literally, the grass is greener in Israel because of what they've cultivated. Tel Aviv has become a high-tech hub. Jerusalem has become much more peaceful, a great cultural place for people around the world to visit. And then there are vibrant cities elsewhere, from Haifa to Natania.
Starting point is 00:17:51 A lot of Christians, myself included, will go up to the Sea of Galilee. We'll look at different areas where Jesus himself walked, and it really is remarkable what the state of Israel has done with tourism. And so a lot of this comes down to jealousy because the per capita income is much, much higher. And when you look at that circumstance, that's a part of it. But why would the progressives take the side of the Palestinians slash Hamas? I mean, I don't, look, if you're a progressive in America, You want a huge government apparatus to run every aspect of life. You want seizure of private property to redistribute income.
Starting point is 00:18:34 This is what you want, okay? So the progressives can make an argument that we are noble because we're looking out for the poor people who want to elevate them by government power. This is what we want. But in the Middle East is totally different. I guess the Palestinians, they feel are oppressed by the Israelis. but you would think that the progressives might admire what the Israelis have overcome, you know, because they were, you know, you don't get more of an underdog than Jews in World War II, do you? Absolutely. It's really the biggest underdog group, but since 1973, they've been certainly much more powerful.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I think it flipped on that occasion, and many in Israel heartily support the free market. It is very complicated. The Netanyahu government, the conservative movement in Israel has done very, very well. And so from that perspective, there's pushback in the progressive community in the United States. But there's just a lack of knowledge. Hamas won an election in 2006 after Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. And they have not held an election since. So we really don't know how the people of Gaza even feel about Hamas.
Starting point is 00:19:53 There's polling, though, and I've been there like you have. I don't think they are disenchanted with Hamas. And the reason is that from the age of three, the Palestinians are taught to hate the Jews. They're indoctrinated to hate them. You know that. Absolutely. I mean, one Jew plus one Jew equals two dead Jews in the counting and the indoctrinated. of Palestinian kids.
Starting point is 00:20:25 But even in spite of that, you draw beyond the headlines, you will see antagonism against Hamas, people wanting to be free from them in Gaza. I'm not saying it's a large number, but there's been no elections since 2006. We have no way of knowing. But they could be.
Starting point is 00:20:43 They could leave if they wanted to leave. I mean, it's hard, but they could do it. Now, I want to harken back to the Vietnam era because it was the same kind of thing then. a different issue. But the Jane Fonda's of the world, we're sitting on guns, telling everybody how great Ho Chi Minh was, who was one of the most vicious tyrants the world has ever seen Ho Chi Minh. The Viet Cong were great, Viet Cong going out, blowing up children at night, and it was the same thing. Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today? The same thing.
Starting point is 00:21:20 The level of ignorance, my school, was incredible. I was on a school newspaper and talking to these people. I didn't know anything. It's the same thing now. I know if I went to Harvard, and that's my alma mater, I went to the Kennedy School, and I gathered in five or six of these pro-Hamas people. I would destroy them in a debate.
Starting point is 00:21:43 It wouldn't even be close. But they almost are smug professor in their ignorance. They're smug about it. You see that? It's one of the deep challenges because the progressive left is supposed to be for women's rights, for protection of women. And when we see just the sheer brutality that Hamas unleashed on October the 7th, killing over 1,200, but the sheer scale of kidnapping and rape and murder was just astonishing.
Starting point is 00:22:16 And then for that to be covered up, for it to be just dismissed, buy so money is just really, they don't believe it. Right. They just don't believe it. I don't know. All right, doctor, thanks very much for your expertise. Always enjoy talking to you. Appreciate you helping us out. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify,
Starting point is 00:23:40 or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Okay, back in the USA Wall Street Journal poll about the American Dream. Okay, this is what traditional thought is based on. The American dream is if you work hard, get educated to an extent where you can articulate, okay, and obey the law that you will rise from your circumstance. It certainly happened with me, okay? And you read my bio or bold press fees with me. I didn't come from anything.
Starting point is 00:24:23 All right, no money, no assets, no uncle in a business, nothing. But I worked my butt off and I got educated. Okay. So the first question in this Wall Street Journal poll is, do you think the American dream that if you work hard, you'll get ahead, still holds true, never held true, or once held true, but does not anymore? anymore still holds true 36% never 18% once held but not anymore 45% okay so you add it up and that comes out to 63% think the american dream is vanished second question do you agree or risk agree with the following
Starting point is 00:25:05 statement the economic and political systems in a country are stacked against people like me agree 50%, half. Disagree, 39%, not sure, 10. So this is victimization. That's what the left sells across the board, not just the progressive left. That's what liberalism sells. Everybody's a victim if you don't succeed. Your victim, not your fault.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Not your fault. Society's fault. Okay, or the Republicans' fault. or the conservatives fall, or whosoever, but you're a victim. So if you smoke pot all day, can't hold a job, dropped out of high school, not your fault. No, no. And go ahead and shoplift, you have a right to do that. That's the victimization.
Starting point is 00:26:01 So you get 50% of the people of this country, according to Paul, buy an into this. I'm a victim. I couldn't succeed. So if you are an American citizen and you're 23 years old, man or woman, and you've got three kids, and you're 23, and you don't have a college degree, and you're not particularly ambitious, we're going to fail. but the progressive left and liberal thinkers don't want anybody to fail they want everybody be given success i just want to clear this all up how big these numbers are getting in this
Starting point is 00:26:48 country that's pretty startling federal spending up 16% from this time last year joe biden the biggest spending president by far in this country uh 64 billion we've spent more this year than last year. Okay. Social Security is the biggest one. National defense, that includes Ukraine, interest payments, and health care. All right. So up, up, up, up. In 2023, this year, because the fiscal year is over, the government spends $6.13 trillion. We took in $4.44 trillion for a $1.7 trillion deficit. Remember Biden says, I'm the deficit cutter? I'm the biggest cutter of the deficit.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Remember that? The man is just, and every, you go, oh, he's a liar. He's not a liar. Okay? He doesn't know and doesn't care. So he's lying by omission, but he doesn't know. He's incapable of that kind of analysis. States in debt.
Starting point is 00:27:58 All right, this is from truth in accounting. So these are the 10 states that can't pay its bills, the worst New Jersey, then Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kentucky, Delaware, Louisiana, California, Vermont, all of them, with the exception of Kentucky and Louisiana are liberal states, cannot pay their bills. Got it. Black Friday. I hope you go to Bill O'Reilly.com. I'm going to do some shopping there. We make your life so much easy. You'll save tons of money. I can't come to your home and drag you in there. But anyway, Black Friday, 8% jump from last year.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Consumer spending. That's good for the economy. Might not be good for Larry, who doesn't have the money, but it's good for the economy. Consumers in the holiday season expect to spend $6 billion. And no, they spend. spend $6 billion on Thanksgiving Day alone. Wow. Six percent increase over last year and $222 billion expect to be spent on gifts and stuff for the holiday season. Ninety-five percent of American
Starting point is 00:29:17 consumers say they participate in a holiday gift giving. Again, bill o'reilly.com, make your life easy, save you money. Okay, shoplifting. This comes from the Retail Council of New York State. state just in New York. Retailers, stores in the state where I am right now lost last year, 22, 4.4 billion people stealing stuff out of the store. Why? It's not prosecuted. And as I said, it's a contagion. People see other people shop, and I'm going to do that. Nothing going to happen to me. Even if I get arrested, you don't want to get a ticket, a ticket, or going through a stop sign. I'm going to take all this stuff, $4.4 billion, loss for shopkeeping. New York Police Department spokesperson said there were 93,000, okay, this is the city now.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Incidents of petty larceny through October 23, 30% higher than the same period two years ago. 93,000. out of the 93,000, nobody's going to go to jail. There you go. Smart life. Okay, so I wrote a message of the day. Again, you can go to that. I'm Bill O'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Don't have to be a member of anything every day. My son, I told you the story, I think, last week, plays lacrosse for Oxford in England. All right? And they were out playing a Welsh team, Cardiff. and he has O'Reilly on his jersey and after the game a bunch of carded players and Oxford won the game
Starting point is 00:31:01 came over and said you Bill O'Reilly's son and took him in the back and as I related last week he said hey how do you know my father and he because he usually says my son usually says no I'm O'Reilly Auto Parts
Starting point is 00:31:15 that's his usual line and he said you two everybody on campus watches a on YouTube, which really is really good stuff. But I don't know what they're watching, so I asked my tech people, what is this YouTube stuff? So apparently, Bill O'Reilly.com posts the no-spin news highlights on YouTube. And you can go there, YouTube.com slash Bill O'Reilly.
Starting point is 00:31:45 That's the easiest way to get there. YouTube.com slash Bill O'Reilly. and then a whole bunch of stuff pops up and you could watch it if you can't watch the whole show we recommend that you do that you become a premium member and concierge members you watch everything but you can go there and pop pop pop pop pop pop pop and that is really bringing in younger viewers I was astounded this summer on how many people below the age of 40 because remember cable news the average age is death. Okay, that's, it's, what is so old. That's the average age, two steps from the grave. Very, very old audience. Here, YouTube, it's all young. And as I say in a
Starting point is 00:32:36 message, I hope you read it, this is a very encouraging sign. Because this balances out all a propaganda they hear. All right, it's saying in history November 27, 1924, first Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, but it wasn't called that. It was called a Christmas parade 99 years ago, right? So Macy's took out newspaper, as it said, a marathon of mirth. A little alliteration there. Marathon of mirth. And Santa Claus will be there, which he has been ever since the first parade. Then Mickey Mouse showed up in 34, 10 years later. And then, And then in 53, when TV was invented, it started on NBC. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:27 So the Macy's Parade, this is, I love this, you ready, took the place of Ragamuffin Day. I did not know this. I love this. So Ragamuffin Day usually happened on Thanksgiving from 1870 to 1920. it was Ragamuffin Day. Today, if you say the word ragamuffin, you'll be crucified. I say urchins, and I get heat for calling kids urchins. Back then, they called them ragamuffin. So Ragamuffin Day was a traditional day for kids to get, I don't know what they got back then, all right? And then ragamuffin Day disappeared after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Now, it was suspended for two years during World War II because they didn't have enough rubber to do the parade and the floats and all of that. That's interesting. So the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade happened 99 years ago today. All right, got some lively mail and a final thought that will make you laugh. Coming right back. Let's go to the mail. I got a letter from Jeff Molinaro. good italian guy westminster colorado jeff molanaro jeff's parents are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary today
Starting point is 00:34:59 okay basil molanaro a hundred and two mary lou molanaro 92 clear water florida nice place happy anniversary to them 75 years now i can't do it all the anniversaries, and I can't. But this is pretty extraordinary. Wouldn't you say? Married for 75 years? Congratulations. What an accomplishment and mazel top, if they say in Israel. Kevin Martin, Adrake it, Massachusetts. Bill, did you please explain why most of the media coverage about Hamas seems to push the narrative that the terrorist organization is distinct and totally separated from the Palestinian people. Because they want the progressive media doesn't want the terror specter involved here. What they want is to sell a false narrative that Israel oppresses poor Arabs for no reason. Apartheid, just like South Africa. You heard the chant.
Starting point is 00:36:13 you know, is he wants to kill these people. That's what the progressive left is putting out there. So if you were to actually inject some realistic stuff into the narrative, no, they don't want that. Janice McEwen, Rockville, Missouri, a standing observation about the lack of manners, respect, and dress styles, starting with the parents. As an educator for more than 30 years, it saddens me
Starting point is 00:36:40 to see how this generation is glued to social media, and that's what many parents are modeling. It's a dark time in America. So Janice is talking about my column called Sneaker Nation. Okay? And it's on Bill O'Reilly.com. We drop the column every Sunday where I say that standards are just cratering in this country. It's true.
