Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News Thursday, June 20th, 2004, stand up for your country. Well, it's hot, hot here in the northeast. So in Maine, I think it was Caribou, way up by the Canadian borders, 103 hot. And it's global warming, of course. Whenever it gets too hot, too cold, when it's a fire, a hurricane, a windstorm, whatever may be, is global warming. Okay. So what am I, your humble correspondent, going to do about this? I can't do anything climate-wise, but when it gets
Starting point is 00:00:54 hot and I'm not a hot guy, not a hot weather guy or a hot guy. I go to the beach. And I may plunk into the ocean this weekend. And it's early. And it's cold in there. Yeah, that's 65 in the New York Ocean beaches now. It's a little chilly. But I might go in.
Starting point is 00:01:16 But anyway, you should have a strategy on dealing with the heat yourself because, you know, last year was record-breaking heat. This year, it's going to keep getting hotter and hotter. It's the weather cycle that we're in. Okay, breaking news, Supreme Court, four decisions today, nothing really much. So if you've got investment, it's in a foreign company, the government, the U.S. government can tax you on it, one-time tax. Okay. It's called a repri-a-re-I can't even say the word.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Repatriation tax. All right, O'Reilly. Repatriation tax. They can do it. And the rest of it is just individual stuff. Tomorrow is a big one. Whether Donald Trump has immunity for accusations on January 6th by the special counsel. And I am predicting right here on the no-spin news that the Supreme Court will kick that back to the lower federal courts for more definition.
Starting point is 00:02:23 And by doing that, there won't be a Trump trial on federal charges on January 6th issues before the election. Now, that's what I'm predicting. I think it'll happen tomorrow. And I'll tweet immediately. By the way, if you want to get on a tweet ban, it's worth it. It's just at Bill O'Reilly. It's simple. But I throw out there a lot of stuff every day.
Starting point is 00:02:48 All right, Talking Points Memo is a movement by the far left. aggressive left to take over the radio talk industry. It's a fascinating story, so stay with me here on it. And it's very, very important. So as you know, corporate media on television is 90% left. All right, there's two conservative networks, Newsmax and Fox News. And there are about eight liberal networks,
Starting point is 00:03:21 so if you count them all up. So the liberal message on television news dominates, dominates. Talk radio is different. More conservatives do well there. In fact, I don't know of any liberal radio talk show hosts that really command a lot of attention. You may remember that Air America, remember that Air America came on in 2004. It was on for six years. They lost at least $42 million.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Nobody listened to it. I was Al Franken, Rachel Maddow, all of these bomb throws. Bombed. Okay? It was just an awful business venture. And it went off the air. Well, now entered George Soros, 93 years old. He doesn't care about making money.
Starting point is 00:04:21 he's got so much money it doesn't matter anymore he cares about dismantling the united states of america making it into a progressive paradise so he has spent an incredible three billion dollars just in the u.s.a over a 10-year period trying to impose progressive slash socialism on this country $3 billion with a B dollars. Now, Soros is trying to buy the Odyssey Radio Network. What is that? It's got 220 stations, all right? It has allied with CBS Radio because it's losing.
Starting point is 00:05:06 It's almost $2 billion in debt, Odyssey Radio. I mean, it's going out of business just a matter of when. Soros knows that. He sees that. So he's coming in to try to buy the network. Who's on the network? Hannity, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Guy Benson, Ben Shapiro. It's a lot of conservative crews on, that's Dana Loche, on Odyssey.
Starting point is 00:05:37 And they do well, but the network itself for whatever reason, as I said, owes $2 billion, which they're never going to be able to pay off. So Soros might get this. He's got to go through the Federal Communications Commission, but the woman who runs that, Jessica Rosen-Wrkel, is an ardent Democrat. So I would assume that Soros is going to get this odyssey. And that has a conservative commentators very upset with all the tape. They have Sean Hannity, they have Mark Levin.
Starting point is 00:06:17 and George Soros has spent more than $21 billion over the last few decades. He spent $1.3 billion in 2022 alone. Most of that cash went to left-wing causes, including Media Matters, Planned Parenthood, the Sunrise Movement. He's the guy who has put in the radical DAs and the Radical Attorney Generals, and now what? he's buying up talk radio okay so beck has 21 billion on it i have three we may be coming at it from a different point of view um if you add up all soros's political donations and all that
Starting point is 00:07:02 but anyway the guy is by far the most uh lavish spending progressive in the world he's a dangerous man. So again, he's not trying to do this for business, for money. What his plan is, is to do for radio what the corporate media has done for television. So you cannot find a conservative voice on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, or MSNBC, on and on and on. Okay? PBS. You just keep going down the list. I check every day because we're putting together a big investigative report on this. And we'll have it for you at the end of August. We're compiling data that is just shocking that if you are a Trump supporter or simply don't say anything bad about Trump or a conservative person, you are denied access to the corporate media.
Starting point is 00:08:08 It is shocking. but not in radio. And that's what Soros wants to do. A total blackout. This is about censorship, totalitarian censorship. This is what they did very effectively in Germany and the Soviet Union before World War II. In both of those totalitarian countries, Hitler and Stalin silenced all opposition. That is what Soros is trying to do here.
Starting point is 00:08:43 And it's been fabulously successful on the television side. Okay? But weren't for Fox News. It would be over. And but Fox News's audience is, I don't know, half of what it used to be, 60% of what it used to be. So, and that's, there are many reasons for that. A lot of it, people don't want to pay.
Starting point is 00:09:09 cable fee on and on and on but fox is it on television that's all and the fox local stations don't do what fox news channel does they don't okay so this is really a story that every american should know about there's one more element to it social media social media is not a a censorship thing anymore because the FBI's detente or meeting with the social media in Palo Alto, okay, to suppress the Russian collusion and Hunter Biden computer stories, was exposed, opening up these companies for a lot of litigation and a lot of terror. So social media now, you can get all voices heard on social media. You can't, okay?
Starting point is 00:10:10 But in traditional media, you can't. Soros, as I said, I think he's going to succeed here. It'll be interesting. You can't haul a Sean Hannity off the air or a Mark Levine. They're too successful. I mean, the stations, if that ever happened, there would be an outcry. I don't, it just, it's impossible, but you could make it very hard for the Odyssey stations to hire anybody else.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I mean, you can do a lot of things. And that's the memo. Okay. If you want to comment on that, bill at bill o'Reilly.com, bill at bill o'Reilly.com. What I would like to know outside of talk radio, Glenn Beck, and I think Hannity's discussed and others. If you have seen any coverage of that on television, of the Soros play into trying to get the radio, please let me know if you've seen it. That would be very helpful to me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town. And if you don't want me to say your name, I won't. What I've got to do
Starting point is 00:11:17 is put on your emails to me, you know, I'd rather not have my name. Fine. I'll absolutely protect you. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. Power, politics and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce 1. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode.
Starting point is 00:13:12 All right, President Biden's at Camp David. He apparently is rehearsing for the debate one week from today. With him, former Chief of staff, Ron Clayne. Now, Clayne is the architect of the, uh, progressive White House. You know, you heard Carl Rove, the architect, you know, with Bush and all that. Claim is the big gun. Okay?
Starting point is 00:13:41 With him, with Claim and Biden, current chief of staff, Jeff Zintz, who's a claim clone. Say that five times. He's a claim clone. Okay. And a guy named Cedric Richmond and a guy named Bruce Reed. I'm not sure really what they do. So Biden's there. I don't even know if Jill is there.
Starting point is 00:14:02 I think Jill's still at the beach in Rojobit. He's there with his guys, and they're planning their answers to the questions. Now, I'm getting mail every single day. Well, Biden knows the questions. No, he doesn't know the questions, but that's what he's going to answer. You've got to understand this. So I'm the moderator of the debate, and I ask Joe Biden, do you have any remorse about the open border causing so much trouble in this country?
Starting point is 00:14:35 Biden's never going to answer that question. Number one, he'll blame Trump. You know what he'll do. And I, as a moderator, according to the CNN rules, can't interrupt them for two minutes or Trump. Think as they would ever they want to say. Do we all understand what's happening here? So what Biden has to do is memorize about 10 canned answers. He knows that they're going to ask him about the border.
Starting point is 00:15:05 He knows they're going to ask him about inflation. He knows they're going to ask him about Ukraine. And then these guys are going to go, this is what you say. Now remember, Biden can't have cheat sheets. And he's not going to have an earpiece like I have. Not going to happen. but he does have a pen and a pad so maybe when he gets up there they're telling him look just write down a few things prompts they call them p r o p r o p r o m pts s prompts but i don't know about that
Starting point is 00:15:43 all i know is that biden has to memorize about ten answers and then spout them whenever he wants he's going to memorize about Trump's convictions, he's going to memorize about Israel, on and on. Now, all of us who really know what's going on here, and we're not buying into propaganda, both on the left and the right, we know what Biden and Trump are going to say pretty much. Because Trump, he doesn't have to memorize, Trump is pretty good extemporaneously. say that five times. He didn't have to memorize. He knows what he wants to say. We're not going to have a country. Yeah. Okay. What they say doesn't matter as they wrote in the message of the day on Bill O'Reilly.com. It doesn't matter what they say. We all know it. We got it. But people will be watching in record numbers to see if Joe Biden can get through it. See, the danger of memorizing answers is, if you forget, you get befuddled. So when I was interviewing the five presidents that I interviewed, all of them, I would try to ask them a question one-on-one. They weren't anticipating so that their rehearsed answers would go flying out their ear.
Starting point is 00:17:06 They'd have to answer something you weren't prepared to answer. They, one-on-one, you can do that, but you can't do that in a debate when you got two minutes. Each candidate is two minutes to answer whatever they want to answer. They're supposed to answer the question, but they're not going to. But to see Biden up there, okay, that's what everybody is going to be looking at. They're not going to be listening so much. You're going to be wondering. Is he different?
Starting point is 00:17:32 Is he freezing? Is he befuddled? Is he stammering? Now, we already know the anti-Biden forces are going to say he's on drugs. Everybody knows that. Okay? But you're not going to be able to prove it unless the White House physician or Ron Clayne or who's ever given him the drugs.
Starting point is 00:17:50 If that's happening, comes out and says, yeah, I gave him a little speed. It's not going to be happening. Maybe it happened 10 years from now in some book. Not having it now. But that's going to be at it. One final thing about the debate. A draw is a Biden win. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:11 So Camp David, interesting place. 62 miles north, northwest of D.C., but its exact location, nobody knows for security reasons. They don't want people dropping a bomb. Reagan liked it. Reagan was up there a lot. It's got all kinds of perks up there, basketball court, bowling alley, tennis court, skeet shooting, two swimming pools, movie theater.
Starting point is 00:18:36 So the president's, they got that Dwight Eisenhower. I liked that up there, too. And Donald Trump did not. So Biden has visited Camp David, what is it, 54 times? 34 times. 34 times. He likes it up there. All right, 180 acres. So here's what Trump said about Kent David. Quote, Camp David is very rustic and it's nice. You'd like it. You know how long you'd like it? For about 30 minutes, unquote. Not enough action up there for Trump. Okay. All right. There you go. New poll, Maris College. It's not a reliable poll. You know, we've
Starting point is 00:19:20 track Fox poll. There's a Fox poll out. I'm not even going to give it to you because it's not real important until after the debate. But Fox poll, historically anti-Trump, don't know why. Marist poll has not been accurate the last few years. Okay, but I'm going to give it to you anyway, so you have a baseline. Sample is good. A Democrat 36, Republican 33, Independent 31. Who would you vote for? Biden 49, Trump 49, when others are on the ballot. ballot, okay? And I didn't give you the two because that's not going to be the case. There'll be others on the ballot. So it's top. All right. Do you plan on watching the debate? 60% say they are going to watch. 24% say they'll watch some of it. That means social
Starting point is 00:20:05 media. 14 are blacking it out. So it's going to be a big number watching it worldwide. How satisfied are you with both candidates? 42% are satisfied? 55% are not satisfied. with the choice. Do you think, who do you think that handle the economy better? Biden 45, Trump 54. Who do you think would handle immigration better? Biden 44, Trump 54. I can't believe that 44% of those polled think Biden would handle immigration better. It's just stunning. That's why I don't trust the poll, unless they're actively canvassing stupid people. If you're stupid, please call the Marist poll. Who would handle the role of foreign affairs, Biden 49, Trump 50, and abortion, Biden 54, Trump 42. Okay, now here's a very key thing. No, Paul, it's a study, and it comes out of Monmouth
Starting point is 00:21:09 University polling institute, but this is not a yes or no question in the sense that people have to describe their circumstance. It's different from the saying, who are you going to vote for. So 46% of Americans say they're struggling to remain where they are financially, all right, they're getting less solvent, big number. Forty-five percent say they're stable. Nine percent say their situation is improving. See, that would be doomed for any other Democrat running. Nine percent say they're improving. What a number. Okay. So biggest concern in the race, rising prices. That should doom Biden, right?
Starting point is 00:22:01 Should. Because that's across the board, right across the board. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop, culture and everything in between. Starting point is 00:23:03 Make sure you tune in. You can find us at Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, Louisiana. This is a very interesting story. So the governor of the state, Jeff Landry, is a conservative guy. I know him, a smart guy, and he now has signed a law that will require Louisiana to post the Ten Commandments in all public school classrooms beginning in 2025 next year. Okay?
Starting point is 00:23:36 And along with the posting, this is in every classroom, is a three-paragraph statement highlighting the commandments. It's a little background on them. Okay. No state money is to be used. These are all private donations. That's going to get dicey. And it's going to be immediately ACLU would try to block it in federal court. Everybody knows that. There have been two recent cases about the Ten Commandments in court. The first one was 1980. and by a 5-4 vote, the court said Louisiana could not post-a-10 commandments in early public school classrooms. Early is a key word there.
Starting point is 00:24:27 So if you have a history class in your high school, apparently you can't. But a more recent case, 2005, again, 5-4, said the state of Texas can put the 10 commandments on the state capital property because it was simply a display of something that's historical and that holds. So I discussed this on News Nation with Cuomo last night. Go.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I think that's why Louisiana did it in the first place. What do you think of this play? I'm going to be Mr. Hand and you're going to be spoken. Coli right now, okay? Fast Times at Ridgemont High. So in 2005, you're Spacoli, believe me, 2005 Supreme Court Rule 5-4 that you could have a display of the 10 commandments at the Texas state capital in Austin. They did that because it was, in their opinion, the five justices that ruled they could have it, a passive display. All right. It was simply,
Starting point is 00:25:40 there to show people that part of our culture, not the entire culture, was based on the commandments that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai. Now, Louisiana, you're right, Cuomo, and that hurts me to say, that this will become a partisan issue, because neither side really wants the truth. If the Louisiana public schools display the Ten Commandments, they absolutely have a responsibility to their students to explain it in a historical context. And therein lies the argument. So the Ten Commandments are the basis of some of our laws. There's no doubt about that. Thou shalt not steal, okay? Thou shalt not bear false witness. That's perjury. So you've got to explain to the urchins, look, we're not trying to impose a religion on you.
Starting point is 00:26:45 We're trying to show you the historical background of when morality in Judeo-Christian tradition began. So this country was founded on Judeo-Christian tradition. There's no doubt about that. Not a Muslim country. We're not a Shinto country or a Buddhist country. All right. Now, the best thing if you want to know how to win that argument is to read Killing the Witches.
Starting point is 00:27:20 I go through this brawl that the Founding Fathers had over whether the new United States should be defined as a Christian nation. Remember, Moses was Jewish. Okay? So if you're re-killing the which is a big, big part of the book is what happened after they hanged the 20 in Salem. That was so abhorrent to the founders that they didn't want any religion having. any power in the new country. However, a lot of the laws, the justice system, the philosophy
Starting point is 00:28:06 came from the Ten Commandments. So you've got to have the ability to show them and teach them. Now Louisiana is doing it because Landry and the conservative legislature there want to teach urchins some kind of right and wrong. Because we don't have that. anymore in school, public school. We have no teaching about right and wrong. So that's a fascinating thing. My prediction is that the Ten Commandments will be blocked in the lower federal court. It will go to the Supreme Court a year or two, and the Supreme Court will rule, yes, you can have them, but it has to be in a context of history. Oakland, California, a mess. A huge huge mess. Not as bad as San Francisco, only because it's a smaller city. So now 40,000 people
Starting point is 00:29:03 have signed a petition to recall the Oakland mayor, Shang Thao. The vote on the ballot in November. Why? Robberies in Oakland grew 38% left year to year. Burglaries 23. Motor vehicle jumped 44 theft. One in every Oakland residents had a car stolen last year. One in 30. it's a mess it is out of control and she's going to get booted all right just like uh the guy in san francisco good maybe you i don't think they're wising up in uh california but this is a good thing la now here's a ruse here so there are 430 000 430 000 k-12 urchins in this public schools in l Now, the United, Los Angeles United School District has voted to ban cell phones and social media in classrooms. Okay, it's good.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Kids will get around and, you know, they will. But instead of putting a punishment in the ban, no, because they don't punish anybody in California. So they are doing this to develop proposal for implementation, which means, It's just a bunch of garbage. Any school district that's responsible should say to the urchins, you can have a cell phone in your locker. Between classes, you can use it. After school, you can use it. You cannot use it during class time. You cannot take the cell phone into the class. Now, if you don't have lockers and stuff, then you have to say you get to keeping your backpack or whatever. That is paramount if you want the urchins to learn anything.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Smart life, the average American, according to motive health, feels at least 10 years older than they actually are. Okay, so this is great. I love this. 47% say they feel older than they are. Gen X, all right, born 1965 through 80, 45% feel older. Baby boomers, that's me, okay? 50% say they feel older. generation, 54% say they feel older because there's only eight of them alive. Okay, most of the greatest generation are gone. Okay. So why do they feel older? This is a smart life segment.
Starting point is 00:31:43 48% say they're tired. Okay. All right. And 55% say they have joint or knee pain. And it can't do what they used to do. And that's very valid. So I don't feel older than my age. Nobody knows how old I am when they look at me and, you know, you can look it up, but I don't, okay? I feel younger than my age, but I work at it. There are three things I do to stay in shape. I don't go to the gym. I don't have time to go to the gym. I don't want people sweating on me. I don't I don't have a gym membership, okay? My son is a gym rat. He loves that stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Not me. But I do power walks, and I mean I'm moving it, and I'm going uphill a lot. Three times a week, try to do it four times a week. When I'm out east on Long Island, I do it on the sand, which is really painful to do those things on the sand, but it's so good for you. But the most important thing is the diet, okay? I've cut out 80% of the junk. I do not I do I just won't I mean I'm like a fanatic now because I know every Oreo I eat
Starting point is 00:33:01 it's going to hurt me now see you have to reward yourself and we went over that last night in a small life segment you have to can't be a Spartan everything all right but the final thing is you got take a nap take a nap if you can you know Winston Churchill every afternoon now he was bombed half the time. He drank champagne around the clock. But he took a nap. It's nothing wrong with that. That's good. Look at Rip Van Winkle. He took a nap for 24 years. He didn't feel older. Smart Life. University of North Carolina has knocked out its DEA thing program. Why? Because it's spent ready for this. It spent $91 million a year on DEA. What a waste of money!
Starting point is 00:33:56 The Wolfpack, their DEI chief officer, made $413,000 for doing what? So it's gone. And you taxpayers in North Carolina, you got hosed. But it's gone. Stay in history of January 20th, 2012, President Obama invokes executive privilege over documents related to the fast and furious weapons program. It's a big story when I was doing a factor back then. Okay, it's 12 years ago. So what happened was the ATF, alcohol, tobacco firearms, and Homeland Security launched an undercover sting operation. They had 200
Starting point is 00:34:41 heavy weapons, all right? They allowed those weapons to go to thugs in Mexico. Cartel members bought them and they were supposed to track the weapons to find out where they were going south of the border or if they were coming back to the USA that was distinct well the got ATF and lost track of half the weapons a hundred of them they don't know where they were well one of them was involved with the murder of u.s border patrol agent brian terry guns were found at the scene of his murder So there was a massive scandal, you may remember it, and an investigation by the federal government, but Obama stopped it closed, stopped it cold, okay? Executive order. No, we're not going to investigate it, and you're not going to know about it. Here I interview Fox reporter William LaGuness on the factor.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Go. So yesterday, this judge said some of the records that deserve Executive Prolovich protect. others don't, giving the Justice Department two weeks to turn them over to Congress, which is still bill trying to figure out basically this. When and how much did the top people of the administration know about Fasting Furious, which they were blaming on a few rogue agents in Phoenix, and of course we know that's not true. So the Attorney General Eric Holder, okay, he defied Congress. It wouldn't tell him. Nothing happened to him because of the executive, order a privilege signed by Barack Obama. That is the swamp. And to this day, no government
Starting point is 00:36:27 official employee has been held accountable. There you go. Still going on. And we're going to harpoon a college professor in the final thought. That's coming up next. Okay, so final thought of the day. Next week, we're going to have some debate experts. How don't we contacted a man named Thomas Hollahan, Irish guy. He's a PhD, there he is, and he teaches at the University of Southern California, the Annenberg School. It's a big school, and he'd been there a long time, decades.
Starting point is 00:37:00 We said, hey, professor, you want to come on and just set up the debates and tell us how you think it's going to go down, give us some historical perspective. Here's what he wrote back to my producers. Quote, sorry, I'm not interested in lending credibility to this. propaganda machine. I guess that's me.
Starting point is 00:37:22 So I'm telling you this because this guy, Hollahan, talking about propaganda, all we wanted him to do is go over the history of the debates and how they've changed and all that. No ideology involved with this. Okay. Now, this is what you have in almost every major college in the country. these far left cranks.
Starting point is 00:37:49 So you're paying an enormous amount of money that kids are or you are you're paying for your children's education. You walk in a classroom and here's this guy. And we ran them down. He's a Trump hater. You know, we know who he is. But I wanted to tell you that
Starting point is 00:38:07 because this is what, you know, there are ways, look, you don't want to come on the no-spin news, fine. I don't care whether you come on and out. We got a better guest. but be respectful all right oh that's just ridiculous so this guy is a pinhead i might send we have a don't be a pinhead bumper sticker right i think i'm going to send him a don't be a pin it's too late he is a pinhead all right i want you guys to have a nice week and it's hot
Starting point is 00:38:39 so cool off and have fun i don't know what i'm going to write about Sunday yet in my column I got a lot of things kind of ruminating around but I'll have a good one for you because it's you know debate week and we'll launch it well thank you very much for watching and listening to the no spin news we'll see on Monday
