Welcome to the No Spin News for Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, stand up for your country. Well, a bit less intense today than yesterday in the news cycle.
Starting point is 00:01:24 President Trump is over in Saudi Arabia trying to get deals with the Arabs. He'll get them. primarily because we are providing the Arab nations in the Gulf with security against Iran. That's what this is really all about. And there's business opportunities in the USA for a lot of the nations in the Gulf, and Trump knows that. Also, the Trump organization run by his two sons, Eric and Don Jr., are doing a lot of business privately with the Gulf nations. That's legal, all right? It's not a Hunter Biden situation because it's all up top.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Everybody knows what's happening. But I think President Trump has to be careful, all right, in how he presents his negotiations over there. And that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. So the tariff thing yesterday worked out well. Best day for the Trump administration in both first and second terms. Dow is up 1,149 points, NASDAQ 759 points, you know, rocket rises. And that brings this pretty much to parity for the stock market since Liberation Day on April 2nd. So remember all the panic, and we went over this yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I told you to just stay tough. Don't do anything, you know, because that's what I did. and now we're back to where we were on April 2nd. There's no guarantee for the future of anything. And I'm going to reiterate this advice to you. If you do not have the stomach, all right, to confront your investment portfolio when it goes down, get out now. Because Donald Trump is unpredictable.
Starting point is 00:03:19 We're not talking about an ordinary president here. Well, this thing is volatile. I only have myself about 23% of my assets in the stock market. Now, I'm an old guy, so I don't need any more than that, but I'm really a conservative, cautious investor. I work hard for my money, and I don't want to lose it. Okay, so yesterday is a good day for the markets, a good day for Trump, but then the media, which generally despises the president,
Starting point is 00:03:51 kicks in with their take on it. Go. Look, I think Wall Street loves what they're hearing, in part because the expectation of these massive tariffs seem to be coming down, and it seems to be ultimately not going to be the strategy of the United States to pursue them. We will see ultimately what that looks like. That's just gibberish. I'm surprised the guy like Sorkin has been around for a while, just spouting that nonsense. Trump is going to hold the tariffs, particularly the 10% admittance fee to get in here. Okay? So, I mean, I don't even know why do these guys say this stuff. They get away with it because their anchors are going, oh, yeah, they don't know anything. Okay, so the media knew or knows that Trump is riding a winning streak here. So they divert into the Qatar plane thing. Now, you can pronounce that country guitar or gutter. Both are used. Anyway, the royal family,
Starting point is 00:04:54 Remember, these are not democracies in the Gulf. It's not like the people don't have any say about what happens. It's just the princes and the sultans, they make all decisions. So anyway, Gutter wants a big, positive relationship with the United States. Now this is a fascinating story. So in 2018, Trump was president first term, okay? The Trump administration awarded Boeing $4 billion to build two jets for the federal government. was seven years ago, four billion dollars, okay? The planes are supposed to be delivered last
Starting point is 00:05:30 year in 2024. Now Boeing says they won't deliver them until maybe 2009. A monumental screw-up. And Boeing should be fined, okay? They violated a contract all day long. So the plane, Air Force One, is 30 years old. Do you really want the government in the United States flying around a 30-year-old plane? I don't. I don't care who's president. So God knows all this and says, hey, we got one. We'll give it to you. We'll give it to you. And it's worth $400 million. All right? Trump goes, okay. And here's what followed. Go. Mr. President, what you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you, why not leave it behind? Your ABC fake news, right?
Starting point is 00:06:23 Why not? Only ABC, well, a few of you would. Let me tell you, you should be embarrassed to ask in that question. They're giving us a free jet. I could say, no, no, no, don't give us. I want to pay you a billion or 400 million or whatever it is. Respectly, sir. As a business, man, somebody who may look at this and say, have you ever been given a gift?
Starting point is 00:06:44 It's worth millions of dollars and did not receive anything. It's not a gift to me. It's a gift to the Department of Defense. And you should know better because you've been embarrassed enough. And so has your network. Your network is a disaster. ABC is a disaster. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So this is more the same. A couple of things. The correspondent Rachel Scott, those questions were legitimate. I would ask them. But I wouldn't have asked them the same way. That's always the deal. Okay. So she asked, Scott asked the question as a prosecutor.
Starting point is 00:07:17 It's not what you do with President Trump. Because then you give him an opening to attack you personally. It's not what you do. And an experienced journalist should know that. Scott apparently does not. I'm not criticizing her for asking a question. The question was legit. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:33 But then she says in her questioning as a gift to you, that's not what this is. Trump jumped on it immediately. Oh, it's a gift to the government. Okay, and then Godara let me keep it from my library or whatever. Okay. So here's how you ask that question. If I'm interviewing Donald Trump, which I have many times. Mr. President, do you foresee any legal problems with accepting that jet from Gutter?
Starting point is 00:08:03 That's it. That's the question. Do you foresee legal problems? Right? you get it right down and then he may attack you but then you just go look anybody would ask that question all right now i had a deal with this on news nation last night with leeland vitter which was very interesting go i'm guessing bill you're going to tell me that the plane just doesn't matter i got to find out what the deal is i i'm very curious uh
Starting point is 00:08:41 to know what the conservatives are talking about when they say that the government of Qatar is funding the jihadists in the present tense. I'd like to see the data behind that. Do you know what the data is there, Leland? Yes. They still harbor Hamas. They still harbor Hamas.
Starting point is 00:09:02 They're protectors of the Muslim brother. Because Hamas guys are living there. They're living there? Yes. Hamas guys? Yes. Yes. I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Where are they living, do you know? What, you with their address bill? Come on. Well, I mean, I didn't know that. Look, we have a huge CIA station in Gutter. We have troops on the ground in Gutter, and you're telling me Hamas, big shots, live next door? Is that what you're telling me?
Starting point is 00:09:29 The best coast just got better. Introducing Quantum of the Seas sailing from L.A. this fall. Conquer next-level thrills on the boldest ship in the West, like Flowrider Surf Sessions, bumper cars, and soaring 300 feet above sea level on the North Star, plus more than 15 dining options on board, all between discoveries in Ensenada and even overnights in Cabo. You've never done Mexico like this.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Book your Boulder Baja adventure from Los Angeles today. Come seek the Royal Caribbean. Itineraries vary by sale date, ships registry Bahamas. This episode is brought to you by San Pellegrino Chau. A new kind of flavor sparkling water, the kind made with real fruit juice, a pinch of Sicilian salt and the sparkle of the Italian sun. With no added sugar and just 10 or less calories per can,
Starting point is 00:10:18 enjoy with love from Italy. By San Pellegrino Chau now. So they don't. I checked today with my intel sources. There's no Hamas big shots living in gutter than anybody knows about. And it wouldn't make any sense. Because if you look at the amount of money, the government of gutter has invested in so-called anti-terrorism programs, astronomical. Now, in the past, yeah, but not now.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And I didn't want to pick on Leland. I like Leland, but there's no evidence that there's any Hamas big shot living in a country. So the argument that, oh, you're taking a jet from a country that enables terrorism, what are you talking about? You've got to back it up? Nobody can back it up. Because I don't think it's happening right now. I mean, just step back. What advantage is there to that government and got her to back terrorists? None.
Starting point is 00:11:20 So, all right. Now, if I were me, I would, and I were the President of the United States, I would have anticipated, you're going to get a lot of flack, not only from the resistance on the left, but on your own side, too. So here's Rand Paul, go. The Constitution in Article 2 talks about the president can't take emoluments or gifts from foreign leaders. And so there is a provision in the Constitution says you can't do this. And so the question is, can you do it if it's only for official purposes? Okay, that's the question.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Now, the solution to this whole problem is so simple, it's painful. All Mr. Trump has to do is say they're going to loan us the jet. because our people, Boeing, couldn't do it. And we need a new jet, and that's the best one. So they're going to loan it to us. And then we'll give it back after my term is over, or after the new plane is delivered finally by Boeing. Takes it all away.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Trump doesn't need the jet for his library, even though Ronald Reagan has went out in Seamy Valley, but it didn't need it. So you loan it to us. We loan countries all kinds of billions of dollars. that's the solution and that's a memo and this story won't go away democrats will try to get into congress you know we just change it to a law all right we're gonna loan it to us um we're not much happened in saudi arabia today president had a briefing but he didn't say anything differently
Starting point is 00:12:54 uh ryan can't get a nuke and we're making all kinds of deals so on the table is 600 million from saudi arabia billion i should say 600 billion um The biggest part of that is U.S. defense firm contracts. All right. So the sultans are going to buy a lot of arms from us. And then $20 million in AI they're going to buy from us. And then all kinds of other stuff. So $600 billion of deals that the Saudi is going to buy from the USA.
Starting point is 00:13:25 And it's a good thing. I know a lot of people don't like Saudi Arabia. I'm not crazy about it. But if they're going to spend that kind of money, okay. Let's get another perspective on this. I've been bloviating too long here. Let's bring in Edward Jigerian from the Kennedy School at Harvard, up in Cambridge Massachusetts.
Starting point is 00:13:48 He is a former U.S. ambassador to Israel appointed by President Clinton. Before that, Ambassador to Syria appointed by Ronald Reagan. Now, that can't ever happen again. So the professor is in a unique position. A Democrat appoints a very important position, Israel, after a Republican, appointed him to Syria. But you never get that now because the two parties are so far apart. All right, my analysis, Professor, did I make any mistakes here? No, I don't think you're getting any mistakes, Bill.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I think you've characterized President Trump's modus operandi on foreign policy. I think pretty well. He's, as we know, a transactional president. He's not a intellectual strategy president like Richard Nixon. But I like to define his methodology bill as disruptive or constructive uncertainty. What do I mean by that? he throws out a lot of ideas, as we've seen, on domestic policy and foreign policy, and some of them really seem to be totally wild.
Starting point is 00:15:08 But then it causes in the interlocutor, be it a country or another leader, you know, it puts the interlocutor he's dealing with immediately on the back foot. How am I going to respond to this? And it sort of softens him up for the deal. And then he negotiates the deal, as we've seen on the tariffs with China. You know, we've gone down from 145% down to 30% and the Chinese are putting in 10% against us. And this is his methodology throughout.
Starting point is 00:15:39 And I think that's his methodology. I think his principled approach is America first in all dimensions and domestic and foreign policy. What's good for America's prosperity, security, et cetera. And then the other thing I'm, I think is very important, I may be dead wrong on this, but I really think inherently that Trump is adverse, adverse to America's engagement in foreign wars, Vietnam, the Afghanistan, the Afghanistan, the Iraq wars. And he doesn't want, under his watch, to be an American president
Starting point is 00:16:18 that is mired in yet another, for example, Middle East war. And this, I think, is really critical because when you look at the team he's put together, it's really hard line. Well, I won't call him neocons. Let me jump in. Let me jump in because I know something about this personally. You're absolutely right, 100% right. Trump doesn't want any arm conflict. You know, he'll threaten.
Starting point is 00:16:46 He'll be bellicose. Yeah, we're going to go invade Panama or going to do this guy. But he doesn't want to do it. He won't do it unless we're attacked. And the proof here this week is that he went to the Gulf without consulting Netanyahu in Israel at all. And Netanyahu is an armed confrontation guy. He wants to wipe out every Hamas, Hezbollah terrorists that he can find. Trump doesn't want that.
Starting point is 00:17:15 And that's one of the reasons he got the hostage out. Now many people know this, but I was directly involved in December of last year in the hostage negotiation. And I can't really explain on television why, but there was a reason that I was involved as a private citizen to, and that was when a lot of the hostage laydown happened. Not before Trump was inaugurated because that both administrations were involved. And as you know, as former ambassador to Israel, there's so many different factions over there working against each other that Trump is just, it's, Blank this, I'm going to do what I want because I'm the big dog and they're just going to have to follow in line. That's what's happening over there. I could agree with you.
Starting point is 00:18:07 It's exactly what he did, and it's remarkable. There's such a body of public opinion in Israel pressuring Netanyahu to prioritize the remaining hostage releases. I think they're 51 now. 24 alive, they say. And I think that number is solid because Trump has sent a message to the Amos people. You lie to me. Then I'm going to let Netanyahu loose. So I think it's 24 alive.
Starting point is 00:18:39 All right. I have to, I'm using this interview as a personal. And this is kind of like the gutter plane. This is personal to me. I'm going to China in 10 days. and I'm meeting with a lot of Xi's guys. So, I mean, I'm doing this, again, as a journalist, number one, but as a private citizen number two.
Starting point is 00:19:06 So I'll be carrying some messages over to Beijing. I have no experience with the Chinese. Can I be me over there? Can I just know spin it and say, look, this is a deal? Can I do that? Well, I think you can. I think they've done their homework on you, Bill. Yeah, they invited me. They invited you. They've invited you. They've done on you. So that's a green light right there. No, I think you can be, I think you can be very open in your characteristic way with the Chinese. But if I, if you're asking my advice, one thing I would do is, first, I'd listen to what they have to say, listen and try and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and.
Starting point is 00:19:52 and convey that you know where they're coming from, you want to hear where they're coming from, and then you listen to what they say, and then you discuss that, and see if there's any common ground. Oh, I will. It's a Q&A at the Beijing Club. I don't even know there was a Beijing Club.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I'm glad it's inside. For every question they ask me, I'm going to ask them a question. That's what it's going to be. So I'm going to do exactly what, what you recommend. Hey, Professor, it's a pleasure to talk with you. I hope you come back.
Starting point is 00:20:27 And if you see anything interesting, just let us know. We appreciate your, you know, realistic view of the world rather than a partisan view. Thank you very much. All right, so the US budget surplus. You don't hear that word budget surplus. We're always in debt. But again, you know, my job is to report the facts.
Starting point is 00:20:47 And here they are in April. The US government ran a surplus of $258 billion. dollars. That compared to a surplus of $204, of $210 billion under Biden last year, an increase 23% now. In April, they always run a surplus. Why? Because it's a tax date. You got to get your tax. So the most money comes in in April. So that's not unusual, but the big, the 23% increases because of the Trump tariffs. That's the, why it increased, uh, 49% percent. billion because 16 billion of that was taken at the ports of call. So when Trump says we get $5 billion a day, it's a little of exaggeration, but he's getting tariffs to bring a lot of money
Starting point is 00:21:37 into U.S. Treasury. You should know that. McDonald's. So everybody remember the McDonald's campaign thing where Trump was at the driving window giving McDonald's food to the people, and it was a big hit and all of that. Now, McDonald's is thrown in with Donald Trump. Did you know that? I didn't know that. So we're going to see Ronald McDonald wearing a MAGA hat next? I don't know. But there was a joint announcement with the U.S. Labor Secretary Laurie Chavez de Remmer and the CEO of McDonald's Christopher Kempinski. McDonald's going to hire 375,000 summer workers. Now, why is this important because it's gateway. I worked at Carvel when I was 17, fast food ice cream place. And what does is it trains you, all right, and you're going to show up on time,
Starting point is 00:22:29 you've got to do your job, you know, and so McDonald's is, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, $375,000. We're going to hire all young people, temporary work, and we're doing this in conjunction to the federal government. Now, McDonald's, I don't think it's getting any money for this. they donated more than $135,000 to Trump in 2020 when he lost. Last time around, that dropped $100,000. McDonald's didn't pump a lot of money into Trump. I guess I felt he was going to lose in 24. Yeah, in 24.
Starting point is 00:23:06 But anyway, I thought that was an interesting deal. Gavin Newsom wants to run for president because he knows nobody else with the name recognition and the hair style that he has. Put his picture up there, please. And here's Newsom. He's a kind of slick guy. So in order to run for president, he's got to get away from the far left stuff
Starting point is 00:23:25 that he's championed for decades. So now he says he's going to wipe out all the homeless camps in California. Go. Over 16,000 encampments, we've cleaned up at the state level. That's unprecedented in the state's history. We'll do more.
Starting point is 00:23:42 We have to do more. We have a model ordinance that the state is using, and that's what now I want to see happen in other municipalities across California. The Red Hot Clarence event is on right now at Burlington, and I'm excited for the markdowns. It's all about savings on top of savings throughout the store. This is when I stock up on styles from my closet, home decor, and much more, because there's up to 70% off other retailers' prices on clearance. I mean, I'm going every day because these prices, too hot to miss. Burlington. Deals, brands, wow.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Styles and selections may vary by location. Are you ready to dairy-free your mind? Dairy Free Your Mind, visit so Deliciousdairyfree.com. Okay, so why did he do this 10 years ago? Why did he let the homeless situation in California get so out of control? You realize that about a quarter of all homeless people in America live in California
Starting point is 00:25:00 because the weather's good. And in San Francisco and places like that, they pay the homeless people, they give them cash so they can buy heroin or fentanyl or whatever other money. Gin, beer, because most of the people, homeless people are addicts their substance addicts these aren't people that were lost their job these are people make a lifestyle out of not being able to support themselves because they spend all their money on substance on drugs and alcohol that's what they do so California is okay 3.3 billion which they
Starting point is 00:25:32 don't have for programs for the homeless people is a total waste of money because what are those programs going to be Well, they're going to be rehabilitation. Well, most, according to every survey, most drug addicts don't want to be rehab. They're like getting high every day. That's what they want to do. And they're going to do it. No matter what you say, unless you force them into rehab, which they do in some countries.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Okay. So, but this whole thing comes back down to Newsom wanting to run for president. Okay? And now he's got to be, oh, I'm not, no, no. Hey, for 10 years, you let these people run. and wild, destroy cities, L.A., San Francisco, drain the treasury of the state of California. It did nothing, nothing. But now, oh, we're got a 16,000. Oh, my God. Anyway, that's coming. You should know it. All right, Pentagon Pete Hague said, defense secretary, and this is why
Starting point is 00:26:32 Trump hired Higson. It says, it's 1.2 million U.S. service people right now. There are 4,240 people. Now, I'm not saying that the trans people join the military so they get their gender affirming care free, but that might be the case, $52 million a year. So Egg Seth and Trump say, no more. You're out. We're not doing it. So the trans people in the military have to June 6th. It's coming up fast to resign. And I guess they'll get an honorable discharge if they do so. going to get kicked out. But starting today, no more transgender affirming care in the military. Smart life. Now this is a tip that you need to know, particularly if you live in and around a big city as I do in New York. So right now I am about 18 miles, oh, maybe 20 miles in the Midtown
Starting point is 00:27:40 Tunnel. Now that doesn't seem like a lot. right you take me an hour and a half to get there because the traffic is insane and not only is insane here in Long Island it's insane all over the tri-state area and in Boston and in Philadelphia and in Baltimore and in Washington and in Chicago and in all the West Coast cities and in Dallas and Atlanta everywhere so AAA says that record-breaking travel this Memorial Day weekend 45 million America. I don't know how AAA knows this are going to be traveling. Eighty-seven percent are going to go by car. Only eight percent will fly. And I can almost guarantee that every one of
Starting point is 00:28:22 those eight percent flights are going to be delayed. All right. So now we have 87 percent of 45 million. I can't do the math, but they're going to be driving. Top destinations, Orlando, Disney World, and internationally Rome. Italy. I'm just throwing that in because this is all about domestic travel. Okay, 40 million, I'm sorry, 40 million travelers are going to drive. Now, if you live in any metropolitan area, you cannot drive in prime time, or you're going to just sit in a car. And I don't want your three-day Memorial Day weekend or four days to be ruined. Oh, here are the windows. Ready for the windows. Smart light.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Get in that car at 6 a.m. You got four hours. between 6 and 10, maybe 9.30 if you're in New York, okay, to get out. You can do it, you can move. But even then, you know, it's not going to be Zoom. Zoom happens 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Now, a lot of people don't want to drive at night. I have no problem driving on night, okay? 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., that's nine hours, right, nine hours, you can sail.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Yeah, you might lose a little sleep, take a nap. Okay, and then on your car radio, you get stations from all over the place of fun, if you still have that. But anyway, that's a smart life tip. Those are the windows, and I'm telling you, it'll make your life so much easier if you get sit in in that traffic hour after hour after hour after hour and you're never going to get around it mart life concierge membership no I tell you this but now I'm going to give you some results so if you sign up on bill O'Reilly.com for concierge membership that
Starting point is 00:30:29 means you get a special email if you have a problem in your life or if you want more information or if you need something. So I have a team, okay, and I read the emails, all of them, and we reply within 24 hours. You're not waiting around. This is an insurance policy for your life, and it's a very strong convenience. Not only you get that, but you get transcripts of everything that I say so you can build a library of facts if you want to. So I'm going to give you three that we did recently in the last week. So we had a woman in Nevada. A heartbreaking story. Her sister has dementia. And this woman, young woman, fairly young, had to care for her, has to care for her. And what? It's a killer because you can't travel, you can't go anywhere, you can't
Starting point is 00:31:30 do anything. You need relief. So we discovered in Nevada, the state of Nevada, There is an organization called Dementia Friendly that helps people in this circumstance. Nobody knows about it. Dementia friendly. And it goes through the state. So the state helps it out. So we hooked up this woman with dementia friendly and they solved a lot of her problems. You know how valuable that was to her?
Starting point is 00:32:02 number two when you get involved with the IRS or the VA or social security or any bureaucracy you're hosed you set the table
