Welcome to the No Spin News for Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, stand up for your country. Shortly afternoon, the Senate passed.
Starting point is 00:01:23 The big bill. Okay, vote was 50-50 a tie. And what happens when there's a tie in the Senate vote? The vice president breaks that tie. And he did. J.D. Vance voted for the bill, and so it passed the Senate. Three dissenters on a Republican side, Collins of Maine, Paul of Kentucky, Tillis of North Carolina. They did not like the bill.
Starting point is 00:01:49 So now it goes back to the House for a vote. And the House bill wasn't the same as the Senate bill, but I do expect that the House will pass this. 218 votes are needed. We're as close to first time. But any congressperson who wants to run again on the GOP ticket voting against the bill is done. So just keep that in mind. Pressure is enormous. And that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo.
Starting point is 00:02:20 So this is President Trump's D-Day, has to get this bill. As I've explained a number of times, and I'm sorry to be repetitive, but this is very, very important. It's really not about the bill per se because the bill is loaded with federal spending that's non-vital. It's called pork, and it's there. And that's why Elon Musk doesn't like it. That's why Rand Paul doesn't like it. That's been the case since World War II, but I'm not making an excuse that the bill is just ridiculous in some of the stuff that we, the taxpayer, are going to have to fund.
Starting point is 00:02:57 But this point in history is key. So if the bill fails at the end of the year, all our taxes go up and go up significantly. If that happens, there will be a recession because consumers are strapped now. They can't afford to pay any more taxes to the government, state, local, whatever it may be, can't. so that there'll be a severe pullback in our economy, which will doom President Trump. He's done if that happens because he'll lose the midterms, both houses. So now it's not just a vote about pork and overloaded federal spending. It's a vote about you want to keep this president or not, okay, in power.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So I know where I. Do I want Biden back and the Democrats? Not a single Democrat voted for this bill. And the reason is because if they voted for it, they be shunned out of the Democratic Party. So we don't really have, you know, freedom of conscience anymore. So there are two big things attached to this bill that are just a scandal. The first you've heard over and over and over again. It cuts Medicaid.
Starting point is 00:04:24 It does not cut Medicaid payments, doesn't. But the media lies about it over and over and over so that not smart people, people who don't watch or listen to this broadcast, think that Medicaid's going to get cut. And all these people are going to be thrown into the streets with no medical care. What the bill does, and again we have explained it and explained it and explained it. is it tightens up people's eligibility. All you have to do to be eligible to get Medicaid is to search for a job or volunteer for a job for 20 hours a week.
Starting point is 00:05:13 That's it. You either have to look or volunteer. you. A hundred percent of people should be able to do that. I shouldn't say that. Ninety-five percent. There are five percent who are medically debilitated. They can't do it. And there is an exemption for them, a medical exemption. If you are medically frail, that's what the bill says. You don't have to do that. But the layabouts, okay, and they number millions, have to do it or they don't get Medicaid. That's the so-called Medicaid cuts. Okay. So when you hear that on the media, and yesterday ABC News did a piece, and they said that older people are not going to be able
Starting point is 00:06:03 to look for a job. That is a deception by ABC News because they didn't mention the volunteer aspect or the medical exemption. ABC News just didn't even mention it. I don't even mention it. I I mean, come on. I used to work for that organization. I was proud to work there. It is now a dishonest operation. The second lie is that this bill aids tax cuts for the rich. No, it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:06:39 It carries on the tax cuts that was passed in 2017. There aren't any other tax cuts. cuts with the exception of the tips, up to $25,000, you can take a deduction. So my son is a waiter this summer. He gets tips. On his income tax, he'll be able to deduct, a lot of that, and so he'll keep the tips. Also for senior citizens paying tax on Social Security, you'll get a bigger deduction. Anything wrong with those two things?
Starting point is 00:07:16 promise the tips thing so he's delivering on that right but it's that doesn't aid the rich that's Bernie Sanders I mean the guy just goes on and he and he just says his stuff that's just patently untrue he knows it's untrue okay oh it's for the billionaires eight years we've had this system okay all you're doing is continuing it so those two things are paramount in the Americans are not understanding what this bill actually says and does. Will it pass in the House? Probably. These 218 votes, and that's coming up. Now, last night I was on News Nation, and Cuomo and Vittert, you know, were pounding
Starting point is 00:08:08 Senator Ron Johnson, who doesn't like all the pork. Johnson and I share that. But he voted for the bill because of the Trump danger. He doesn't want to destroy the Trump administration. Vitterd and Cuomo criticized Johnson for doing that. Here's what I said. Go. The best coast just got better.

Starting point is 00:08:57 Itineraries vary by sale date. Ships Registry Bahamas. I'm going to my family because we're going to Burlington for the event of liquidation candent. We're going to now right now to find the best in articles of liquidation. From, from
Starting point is 00:09:10 to decoration of the house and much more with offers over offers. I can go back
Starting point is 00:09:15 every day to be how I'm going to ask us to ask us the liquidation because it's
Starting point is 00:09:20 very very hot for perversel Burlington Marks Rebaugh Wow
Starting point is 00:09:24 The bill is a bunch of bull but there's no choice in this time in history the
Starting point is 00:09:33 Democrats don't want to cut any entitlement spending or supervise who gets it, or keep it away from undocumented people, or do anything.
Starting point is 00:09:46 They'll cut border funding, they'll cut defense, that's all. There's not one Democrat on Capitol Hill, not one, who will vote for this bill, because it doesn't cut Medicaid. That's a lie that's spewed out over and over by the corrupt TV journalist, so-called. It supervises. It does exactly what Bill Clinton did in 92. And if you don't look for work and you're able-body and you don't have a kid in the house, you're not getting it. Okay?
Starting point is 00:10:18 And that is fair to the hardworking people who are paying their taxes and don't want a bunch of drug-addicted layabouts gaming the system. Am I clear, as Jack Nicholson once said? Yeah, crystal clear, Jack. Okay. So it was 96 that the Cash Assistance Act passed under Clinton. But there was, you know, Newt Gingrich was the speaker and there was this movement that began in 92 to clean this up. And Clinton, to his credit, did clean it up a bit. All right. He did impose requirements to get cash assistance. Quote, recipients has work after two years on assistance, a few exceptions. 25% of all families in each state must be engaged in work activities, rising to 50 fiscal year 2002. Single parents must participate for at least 20 hours per week, the first year increasing of 30 hours per week for fiscal year 2000. Two parent families must work 35 hours per week by July 1st, 1997. Okay, so Clinton got it. Everybody got it at the time that you just can't have lazy, addicted, whatever people,
Starting point is 00:11:37 gaming the system. Now, if this bill passes, it will save about a trillion dollars, according to the Commonwealth Fund and the Congressional Budget Office, a trillion dollars over 10 years. That will be saved by the federal government, obviously, with a $36 trillion debt, we need that. Now, is it going to add to that debt over the same period of time? The trillion dollar savings is just Medicaid, just Medicaid. The other spending will increase the debt. If President Trump doesn't do what I am suggesting, and that is, sell oil from federal land like ANWR and use all of the profits to pay down the debt and use all of the tariff profits. One billion dollars a day is coming into the U.S. Treasury from around the world. All of that money should be earmarked.
Starting point is 00:12:34 to bring the national debt down. Next time I see the president or talk to him, I am going to mention that. I hope he will get behind it, because that can bring it down. All right. So, summing up, not one, as I predicted last night on News Nation, Democrat voted for it,
Starting point is 00:12:53 because if they did vote for the bill, they'd be drummed out of the party, okay? And if the Republicans in the House vote against it, they're gonna be drummed out of the Republican Party. That's the way this system is now. It is vicious. This is D-Day for Donald Trump. He must get this passed.
Starting point is 00:13:09 So if you want to keep him as president, all right, an effective president, a president that can get legislature done, okay, then you have to vote for the bill. There's no other choice, and that's the memo. All right, join us now in Dr. John Goodman from Dallas, Texas. He is a senior fellow with the Independent Institute of Nonprofit, Nonpartisan, Public Policy Research Group. Well, Doctor, am I making any mistakes in my analysis? No, I don't think you are. I think what this bill reflects is that Donald Trump is probably the best marketer in politics today, and it's very obvious that he wants to connect with blue-collar families.
Starting point is 00:13:52 And when you hear him talk about it, he says no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security. That's the way he describes it. In fact, none of those taxes are really going away. What's happening here is there is a small tax break for people with moderate incomes. And it goes away in four years. But it's a terrific way for Donald Trump and the Republican Party to connect with people
Starting point is 00:14:18 who used to vote for Democrats. Okay, but $25,000 on tips deductible. That's significant for the service industry people. It's absolutely significant. And it goes away in four years. Let's hope that it doesn't go away because those people need all the assistance they can get. But overall, the American public,
Starting point is 00:14:39 and I'm going to do this right after we wrap this interview with you, has a negative view of this bill because they haven't been told the truth about it. And, you know, I got millions of view as doctor all over the world. But it's, you know, there are 365 million people in America right now counting illegal aliens. And they hear this stuff. They're not paying attention, many of them, and oh, they're going to cut Medicaid and Medicare.
Starting point is 00:15:04 They're going to cut this. They're going to cut that. This is a concerted propagandistic effort to undermine what Trump wants to do. Am I wrong? No, you're right. The public is being lied to about how the income tax system actually works, and Republicans have done a very, very poor job of defending themselves. Now, the way our system works is the rich are not getting away with not paying their fair share. In fact, the rich pay almost all the income taxes.
Starting point is 00:15:37 The bottom half of the income distribution pays 2 or 3% of all income taxes. They pay almost nothing. The top 1% are paying 40% of income taxes, top 10%, pay 75%. So we have the most progressive tax system in the whole world, far more progressive than any European country. And why is it that way? Because of Republican tax legislation. Every time the Republicans have legislated, they've thrown more and more people off the tax rolls. And Republicans never brag about it.
Starting point is 00:16:08 They never go out and say, look, we've reason half the people aren't paying the income taxes because of us. You never hear them say that. So they have shifted the burden to the rich, and they don't want to tell you that, and the Democrats lie about it. Okay, but the Republican, their basic philosophy is lower. taxes. And the wealthy, because we're in a transitional age into high tech, all right, there are plenty more billionaires than they used to be. Just as there were at the 20th century, you know that, turn of the 20th century with Rockefeller and Morgan and all those people, with these big colossus corporations taking over the infrastructure of the United States.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I write about it in confronting evil, which is beyond September. I mean, some of these people, They call them the robber barons were as evil as they come because there was a transition and they got fabulously wealthy. The same transition is taking place or has been for the last 20 years into technology. And the founders of Apple and all these people, they make gazillions of dollars because that's happening. But the Republican Party doesn't want to punish them. He doesn't want to confiscate what they have earned or in some cases inherited. Am I wrong on that?
Starting point is 00:17:25 Well, a little bit. Again, what the Republican Party has done is shift the burden of taxation to the upper part of the income distribution. Which would be that? Democrats didn't do that. Republicans did that. And through every single time they legislated, they threw more people off the tax rolls and shifted the burden. Well, let's take the 2017 first Trump tax cut. I mean, what did it do? After it passed, we were told that it was a tax cut for billionaires, right? And we within a few years, we find out that the top 1% have a greater share of the tax burden than they did before the bill was passed.
Starting point is 00:18:06 So that's pretty much the way tax law has gone, and Republicans don't talk about it. All right, because most of the voters are not wealthy people, and both parties want those voters support. And it's not only that they don't pay any taxes, doctor, as you well know, federal government sends millions of Americans money. This episode is brought to you by San Pellegrino Chau. If they don't, you know, reach a certain threshold of income, they get checks in a form of tax credits. And so you're right, but I think that the philosophy is Democrats tax up to here have the government run the economy, socialism, Republicans lower the taxes
Starting point is 00:19:45 as much as possible, even for the big corporations, and let capitalism run. That's what I think the two philosophies are. Last word. Well, that's certainly the way they talk about it. But in reality, we have a very progressive tax system. Republicans have created it, and they don't explain it very well. All right, Doc. We appreciate it very much. Thank you. Again, we'll see if this bill passes in the House. It's going to be a brawl. Pretty interesting situation. We should know by this time next week if we do have a new spend and tax bill. Now, as I mentioned, CNN's propaganda is now at a record level and they don't like the bill at all.
Starting point is 00:20:30 There isn't one corporate entity outside of Fox that supports this bill. It just tells you where they are as far as their politics is concerned. Here's what was said on CNN last night about the big big. Bill. Go. I'll give you some adjectives. How about awful, horrible, and to quote our dear friend, Mr. Sir Charles Barkley, terrible, terrible, terrible. What are we talking about here? Well, why don't we take a look at the big, beautiful bill? I got four, five, not just four, five different polls across the screen for you. This is the net favorable rating. The highest rating
Starting point is 00:21:08 comes from the Washington Post at minus 19 points. Okay. I mean, I'm not arguing the numbers. I know what people hear constantly, every day, and they do not hear the truth, which is why I'm so happy that you are watching and listening to me right now because we will always tell you the truth. Always. All right, American Pride, New Pole Gallop, just in time for the 4th of July. How proud are you to be an American? Extremely very proud, 58. Moderately, only a little proud 30. Not at all proud. Nine. Now, that extremely very proud number is down 23 points in 10 years. So in 2015, 81% of Americans were extremely or very proud. And that is because of President Trump, the polarizing effect that he has had. Second question, to Republicans, how proud of you to be an American? 92% of Republicans say they're proud of being American.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Democrats, 36%. Ooh. Independence 53. This is extremely and very proud. So there you go. Democrats, they do not like the country right now because of MAGA. The MAGA people overwhelm them. Kamala is not president.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Thank God, that would have been an unmitigated decision. disaster. Because coming off Biden, the second worst president ever, and again, confronting the president's documents it. There you go. So Donald Trump went down to Ochoopee, Florida, to a migrant detention center. Let's know that map up. And there's Ochoope. He's in the middle of the Everglades. And this new migrant center has been called Alligator Alcatraz. Lots of gators down there. No question. Very humid. big snakes. There's lots of stuff. So even if you escape from the detention center, oh, we're going to be a little dicey. This is a publicity stunt from President Trump. But there's something behind it is to discourage illegal migrants from coming here.
Starting point is 00:23:34 All the stuff that the ISIS is doing, the raids and the detention centers is to discourage other foreign nationals who haven't made the decision to come here yet, not to do it. Here's what Donald Trump said about his visit. Go. But I wouldn't want to run through the Everett Lades for long. We'll keep people where they're supposed to be. This is a very important thing. We're setting records at the board. You know, we had no people come through last month.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Zero, no people. No. So what the president meant to say, was there were no migrants who crossed the border illegally released into the USA. That's what he meant to say, according to the Trump administration. Okay, you know, everyone knows the president does not speak in a precise manner. But there's no arguing the fact that he has shored up the border and that the flood of migrants into the United States under Joe Biden has completely collapsed.
Starting point is 00:24:44 And again, if Kamala Harris were president, that would not have happened. It would be worse. Just keep that in mind. This Ochoopee, Florida detention center is 50 miles west of Miami. And, you know, the detainees are there while they're processed or whatever. We'll keep an eye on it. Now, here's a story you haven't heard anywhere. So yesterday in New York City, there was a thunderstorm, okay, in and around the area. But nobody really knows where the thunderstorm was.
Starting point is 00:25:19 I had my producers all day trying to figure out, did the storm hit the airports, JFK, LaGuardia, Newark? Nobody knows, okay? It was very light, no matter where it was, I'm here. Okay, I'm about 10 miles away from JFK and LaGuardia. I didn't see any thunderstorm. Didn't come to my house. All right. Because of that thunderstorm, the whole traffic, air traffic situation collapsed in the northeast.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Ready? Fifteen hundred flight delays, 600 flights canceled. this is all according to flight aware they track it okay and the if you're at the airport in Newark four hours before you can get on a plane LaGuardia three hours JFK hour and a half nobody knew where the storm was that so once again I will tell you if you are gonna fly in this country don't think you're going to get there because if you do, it's, you know, and if during the summer, if it's a storm anywhere near, shut down. In the winter, if it snows, shut down. And in the fall and

Okay, so the Air Force has taken over some of the surveillance on the U.S. Southern Border its announcement from the Defense Department. So the Air Force is going to monitor the wall,
Starting point is 00:28:18 install barriers physically. The Air Force Corps will build the barriers, conduct patrols, and stop any trespassers. So the Air Force is now involved with now, now National Defense on the border. So this morning I wake up pretty early. I got lots to do, way too much for a man of my age. And I have to check my phone, okay? And on my text thing is a number I've never seen before. And just one, maybe five or six words of a sentence,
Starting point is 00:29:00 I am Jason a job recruiter. That's what's on my text. And then he wanted me to open it to see what the rest of the text was. If I had opened it, Jason or whoever behind this gets all my information. Smart Life. Do not open any texts at all when you don't know who the person is texting you. Don't do it. If you do it, you're setting yourself up.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Because the technology hackers are so advanced now. They can go in, they can get whatever they want from you. All right. So I don't know anything. I'm a ludic about all this. But I do know, I see something on my phone that I don't know, it vanishes. I erase it. I do report it, though.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I have a mechanism that I can report this kind of stuff. On my phone, I hit a little button and it says report it. So I do that. but the authorities aren't they're overwhelmed not going to do anything about smart life okay be smart with the tech stay in history july 1st 2005 one of my favorite performers of all time luther vandros dies at age 54 from a heart attack now a lot of people don't even know him now that was 20 years ago but this guy is just unbelievable I listen to him all of the time and uh working class guy um and he was fabulously successful
Starting point is 00:30:31 for about a six or seven year period, maybe a little longer. And you may remember some of his classic tunes. Best backup group, three backup singers, unbelievable. So I listen to Luther all the time. I mean, he's just, you've got to be in my top five vocalists. But what's interesting about him is he had 11 platinum albums, eight Grammys, and he wasn't a drug addict. He was a junk food addict.
Starting point is 00:31:01 by his own admission, and that killed him. So his weight fluctuated from 160 pounds to more than 300 pounds. He would go on his binge eating, and he developed diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, just from the garbage food, which took him out at age 54 from a heart attack. And he was incapacitated before that. I think he had a stroke. So, you know, we're big here on eating good food. That's another smart life theme, and you know that, okay?
Starting point is 00:31:37 But when he died, I went, and I saw him in concert at Westbury on Long Island. The guy was just phenomenal, his voice range. But again, I mean, you know, when I want to listen to, you know, R&B, and that's one of my favorites, he's first choice, four tops up there, okay, the Philadelphia group, Hall and Oates, okay, they're up there, and, you know, I'm a big R&B fan, but Luther doesn't come better than that. He died 20 years ago today. Final thought about a nice gift you might give on the 4th of July back in a moment. So we Americans celebrate the 4th of July and we usually have a barbecue, you know, the usual drill.
Starting point is 00:32:27 some of us travel and visit people, but we don't give gifts, okay, but I think that might be a mistake. So if you know someone who's really patriotic, particularly a veteran or a senior citizen who served, you know, like that kind of, and they really love their country, all right, I'd like you to consider giving them a premium membership to bill o'Reilly.com as a gift. And if you know somebody who's at trouble, as we just demonstrated on our commercial, who's having a hard time negotiating life, no, I can't, I don't have a magic wand here. I can't make an irresponsible person responsible.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I can't do that, okay? But if you're getting hosed, if somebody's hurting you, I can give you a pathway to solve the problem. And we can also get involved if it's, It's at a level where I believe we have to. And we do that. Okay, we might have a staff that does that, a good one. So if you know somebody who's very patriotic
Starting point is 00:33:35 or somebody who's having a little bit of trouble in life, you might consider gifting them a premium or concierge membership to Bill O'Reilly.com this 4th of July. And explain it to them just as I explained it to you. Okay, Americans are the most generous people on earth. There's nobody that comes close to us. in our charitable giving, in our helping of our neighbors, in our concern for other people, no one on this planet comes close. And that's documented, okay, about charitable giving
Starting point is 00:34:07 and interest in other people. That is the Judeo-Christian tradition that we in America have built our country on. That is the foundation of the Constitution. So, we're in the business here at bill o'reilly.com to inform you honestly to help your life with information and to help you directly if we can thank you very much for watching and listening to the no spin news we'll see you again tomorrow
