Bill O'Reilly here.
Welcome to the No Spin News for Wednesday, August 21st, 2014, stand up for your country.
I want to welcome all the new premium and concierge members to Bill O'Reilly.com.
We've had a flood of those after my promotion on Monday when I said,
if you were ever going to sign up for PM membership, this is the time.
And the reason is very simple.
Most of the media, both corporate and social media, are not reporting the truth about the election.
They're not being honest.
They're skewing it to their point of view.
And it goes right and left.
We don't do that.
We're never going to do it.
And so if you want straight news about the election, this is where you're,
you come. I guess there are others who do that, but I'm not really aware of them at this level.
Tomorrow on the no-spin news, we're going to give you our worldwide viewer and listenership,
and you're going to be very surprised about how many people are watching and listening to the
no-spin news. I was shocked about it. So we'll give that to you tomorrow.
Anyway, the Talking Points memo this evening is about day three of the Democratic National
convention. First of all, most of the coverage is very boring, particularly during the day. I don't
think anybody's watching it during the day. I'll give you the numbers for prime time a little bit
later on. But it's just dull. And it's not the fault of the news operations because you've got to
bring in the partisans when you're at the Republican convention. You're talking to Republicans
and Democrats. And it really, it's just propaganda to propaganda to propaganda. You know,
Why? Why would I watch it? I wouldn't. So luckily, I have a very good staff that if anything
you said that's of interest, I immediately get a ping and I can go in and look at it. Okay, so
let me give you some facts because they're always important. About 75 demonstrators have been
arrested so far outside the convention center in Chicago. None of those, I predict,
will be prosecuted by Cook County. None.
You can spit at a cop, throw a brick at a cop, you can deface property, you can do whatever you want, they'll arrest you, they're not going to prosecute you.
That's Cook County, Chicago, one of those liberal precincts in the country, they're just not going to do it.
All right, now if I'm wrong, I'll apologize, but I'm not going to be wrong.
The security is basically good inside the arena.
However, I was on Hannity's radio program today, and he got jousted Hannity, and we talked about it.
that. So on his way onto the floor, he was verbally assaulted. And the authorities came and
broke it up fast, but boy, that's a volatile thing. Now, interestingly enough, that very
rarely happens to me. I'm 6'4, I'm 210 pounds, and I'm Irish. So those are the three
things I might want to restrain somebody from acting like an idiot. I said the Mets game on Monday
night. And it could have been nicer. And all, I mean, there's no political component at the Met
game, but people are very respectful. And, you know, it's in New York City, which is my hometown,
it's my home field. I can't remember the last time I had a problem. I think it was five years ago
in a Barnes & Noble store, but it's so rare. But in a loaded situation like the convention center
in Chicago with all those Democrats, a guy like Hannity, you've got to protect them.
Okay, so the highlight last night were the Obamas.
All right.
Barack and Michelle, roll the tape.
America's ready for a new chapter.
America's ready for a better story.
We are ready for a president, Kamala Harris.
And Kamala Harris is ready for the job.
This is a person who has spent her life fighting on behalf of people who need a voice and a champion.
Kamala has shown her allegiance to this nation, not by spewing anger and bitterness,
but by living a life of service and always pushing the doors of opportunity open to others,
she understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward.
We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth.
Ah, a little class warfare from Mrs. Obama.
But this was the sentence that caught my attention.
from former President Obama.
Kamala Harris is ready for the job.
Based on what?
She had four years in the Senate and she did nothing.
No bills passed.
No bills even voted on.
Four years.
Three and a half as vice president,
nothing.
Was attached to making things better at the border.
Didn't do it.
That's seven and a half years at the federal level.
with no achievements, not one.
So I understand why Barack Obama is saying
that his party's candidate is ready for the job,
but it's based on nothing.
Now Michelle Obama, totally different than her husband.
And the Republican Party is very lucky
that Michelle Obama did not decide to run for president
because she would be a far stronger candidate
than Kamala Harris.
There's no question about that.
So the Republicans caught a break, having Kamala instead of Michelle.
All right.
Now Michelle Obama, if you know her background, working class father, maintenance man.
Okay.
South side of Chicago saw it all.
Poverty, dysfunction.
And she's hung up on the generational wealth aspect of America.
which is minuscule, many of us inherited anything that puts us into the wealthy care
category, less than 1%. But you hung up on that, all right? No, Kamala is a working person.
I don't know whether Kamala, I think she is a child of educated parents who had a middle class
upbringing, like many of us did. But was she deprived of, no. She wasn't deprived.
So I don't know how you make the linkage to Kamla is going to be the champion of the poor.
I don't know how you make that linkage.
But anyway, we expect that.
But the most important speech last night was from our pal, Bernie Sanders.
Go.
The oligarchs tell us we shouldn't take on price gouging.
We shouldn't expand Medicare to cover dental.
hearing, and vision. And we shouldn't increase Social Security benefits for struggling seniors.
The oligarchs. Oh, now in the past, I took Senator Sanders at his word that he was a Democratic
socialist. I no longer believe that. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt
rising, trade war, shaking the markets.
Meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold.
That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer

Bernie Sanders is a communist.
That's what he is.
The difference is that Bernie Sanders wants the government in Washington to control every aspect of our lives,
from economy to social, everything.
In order to do that, you have to take private property to fund it.
Already, the Democratic platform calls for an increase of $2 trillion in,
yearly spending already. And we've got record spending now. You cannot continue to run that
kind of an operation unless you take private property away from people. That means taxing
unrealized gains, for example. So if you bought your house at $400,000 and now the real estate
people say it's worth $600, you have to pay a tax, even though you don't want to sell your
House? Same thing on stocks. That's where Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Party are going.
Now, the Democratic Party itself, that's not communist, all right? They don't understand what's
happening here. But Sanders is a hardcore communist. And I'll point out again that he
honeymooned in Moscow. Know anybody else who did that? While it was the Soviet Union,
you know anybody else on this planet outside of Russian people?
who honeymooned in Moscow.
I've always suspected it.
Now I know it.
And who is like this with Bernie Sanders?
That would be Vice President Harris,
co-sponsored his proposed federal takeover
of the health system.
All right?
His bill didn't get to the floor, Sanders,
but if it had and it passed,
which even today, I don't think it would,
all private insurance in this country
would be wiped out, health insurance.
The government would run everything.
Is that what you're going to?
really want, do you really want to be dependent on a federal government in Washington that's playing
the equity game and everything else? Is that what you want? Because that's what Bernie Sanders is.
Now, Kamala's going to throw them under the bus. You're not going to see Kamala and Sanders campaign
together. But her mindset, that's where it is. Okay. That bill, by the way, if you want to look
it up, 2019, SB 1129, Medicare for All. Just read it. It's harrowing. It could have been written by
Lenin. All right. What do we got next here on the broadcast? So tonight, Democratic
Convention in Chicago, Tim Walz, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi. Tomorrow we'll analyze Walls.
What he says, I'm not going to do Clinton and Pelosi. We will have J.D. Vance here tomorrow.
the notes by news. So we'll have lead with Vance and then we'll go into walls. That'll be
tomorrow. Don't miss that. And Trump today is in North Carolina talking about national security
there. Coma's warming up for her address tomorrow evening. So this has gotten no media
coverage at all, but it's a democratic platform. And we picked out five that you really should
know about. All right? The first one is protect gender affirming care. This is in the Democratic
platform. This means there will be no parental notification if an American child decides to change
genders. That's what they want. So you could have a kid named Larry who wants to be Sally and a medical
doctor could start the procedure to make Larry Sally and you wouldn't know about.
Democratic platform. Secondly, forgive student debt. Now, Supreme Court has already said
that President Biden cannot forgive any private debt, but if you borrow money from the federal
government to go to school, they want everything forgiven. But that's not really what the
Democrats want. Come back to me. What they want is free.
education for selected groups, paid for by the taxpayer, free college education, preschool
through grad school, paid for by you and me if you're in the equity zone.
Third one, pro-abortion laws in every state.
They want to overturn the Supreme Court by a constitutional amendment, never had to happen,
and order every state to allow abortion any time for any reason, any time for any reason.
democratic platform overturned supreme court and the state laws next one assist illegal migrants in
becoming lawful i love this this is amnesty for everybody i guess there might be a carve-out if
you commit a felony in your foreign national maybe but every person undocumented this country
democratic party wants to give in citizenship everyone and finally the equality act this is
really frightening. They have this in Sweden and other European countries. The Equality Act
basically says if you criticize a minority, you commit a crime. You'd be punished legally.
If you criticize them. Freedom of speech? Ah, no. Now, the reason that you haven't heard about any
of this, because the mainstream media is never going to report it. That's how radical this
democratic platform is. All right. And I mean, I'm, I'm reading this stuff and I'm shaking my
head. And it's all incremental. Remember Barack Obama was opposed to gay marriage? Remember that?
And then they got a foothold and this and that and now, fit a complete. Okay? And I really don't
have much beef with that because I don't care. You want to marry somebody? Go ahead, marry him.
don't care. But this is incremental. This is the walk. All right. So as a comic aside, I had my
producers run down the restroom situation. So most of the restroom in the convention are
gender neutral. And the restrooms are like five or six or ten people in there. This is a
big convention center. So you have a co-ed situation at the DNC. I guess I
shouldn't laugh, but it's so, so woke, isn't it? It's woke. I don't know if I want to be woke
when I wash my hands. I just don't know. All right, so obviously in 1960, Senator John F. Kennedy
was elected president. And in his term, he cut taxes pretty dramatically, all right, because he wanted
to give more money back to the folks. So the tax withholding reduced from 18 to 14%. And then
corporate tax went way down from 52 to 47. It's still very high, but the corporations had a lot
different rules. They didn't have to report a lot of things. So Kennedy was a tax cutter. He was a
populist. You never get that in the Democratic Party now. Okay, Bill Clinton comes in. He
signed the welfare for work. If you wanted federal welfare, you had to look for a job.
And abortion should be safe and rare, rare, R-A-R-A-R-E, Bill Clinton. And Barack Obama, as I said,
many social issues. He wanted legal immigration. He deported more migrants, President Obama did,
than any of the president. Now, the Democratic platform is, hey, everybody who's
snuck in here overstayed their visa everybody can become a citizen so i wanted to know uh how that
happened and uh there's an interesting book coming out it's called polarized by degrees how the
diploma dividing in a culture war transformed american politics by a professor dr matt grossman
who teaches at michigan state university and he joins us now from east lansing so i'm looking forward
of reading your book, because I am perplexed. My mother voted for JFK. My father voted for Nixon,
1960. And the Democratic Party, even though LBJ did the Great Society and all that, it wasn't a
radical left party until recently. What happened? Well, there has been a huge change in the
demographic base of the Democratic Party. As recently as the 1990s,
half of Bill Clinton's votes came from white voters without college degrees.
Today, that's down to a quarter of Biden's votes, whereas white voters with college degrees
have moved from about 20% of the Democratic voting base to now more than a third.
And those trends have been going up over that entire period that you just discussed
and are linked to the increasing dominance of social and cultural issues in our politics.
Now, has that been good for the Democratic Party or a neutral or a negative?
Well, the parties have been at rough parity since that time.
So whatever is good and bad, I would say, has canceled out in an electoral sense.
But it definitely poses a problem for Democrats to get a national majority
because they still rely on votes of culturally traditional voters.
And yet, they keep embracing new social change.
Okay, but most Americans don't have college degrees, four-year degrees.
They're working people.
And the working people you're saying have gone over to the Republican Party?
Is that where they are?
Actually, the Republican Party has always been dominated by white voters without college degrees.
So part of what's happening is just educational attainment is increasing over time.
and the minority vote share is increasing over time.
And the Republican coalition actually looks about the same between those three.
Another way of putting that is that the Republican Party is staying the same
while the nation is becoming more educated and more diverse.
Okay, but the Hispanic voters, and there are far more of them than African Americans,
are tending to be more conservative now.
Is that bad news for the Democratic Party?
It's bad news if they vote their ideology.
Hispanic and black voters have been much less likely to follow their ideological self-definition in their voting.
So if you, another way to think about it is that the swing black and Hispanic voters are much more conservative than the swing white voters, even though overall minority voters are more liberal than white voters.
So the swing voter in this election may come to.
down to a black voter who is conservative and self-definition, who has conservative positions
on social issues and economic issues, but still maintains a social tie to the Democratic Party.

And is a gender split too among African Americans where the women are going big-time,
for Kamala Harris. And there's a new study out today about that. But the men are, you know,
more men are looking at Donald Trump. Is that a factor? There has been an increased gender
divide not only in the United States, but across democratic countries. And it is very much
tied to this rise in cultural issues relative to economic issues. So the more that politics is about
culture and social issues relative to economic issues, the bigger gender divide that we're like
Is it just abortion that's driving women into the liberal precincts?
No, women are more liberal on environmental issues,
on social issues of all kinds, race and gender among them.
So it's not just abortion.
There's a broad gender gap across cultural and social issues.
But you would think in America, go ahead.
I was just going to say women are also more highly educated than ever before.
We actually, the college-educated population is as geared toward women now as it was geared toward men before Title IX in the 1970s.
So many more women.
I mean, look, anybody who can access higher education, in my opinion, should do so.
But the Democratic platform is corrosive to the family.
And you would think that most women in particular wouldn't want their children to be subject.
to state dictums over their parental dictums.
I don't know if that has actually sunk in, Professor,
that part of this Democratic platform
is basically taken parental authority away.
I don't know if that sunk in
because it doesn't make sense
that mothers and women would want that.
The vast majority of voters, including women,
are between the Democratic and Republican platforms.
So certainly, just because women are more cultural,
liberal than men doesn't mean that they would endorse the Democratic flag.
I don't think they even know about it.
And final, what's wrong with me?
What is wrong with me?
And now I'll narrow that question down because we don't have 10 hours.
I'm very highly educated.
And I understand economics.
I understand social mores.
I understand who the politicians are.
I know most of them personally.
There is no question in my mind that the Democratic Party, as it stands today in Chicago,
is a destructive force to the traditions of this country.
No question in my mind.
And nobody can beat me on a debate.
Nobody.
So what's wrong with me?
Why am I not gravitating toward the Democratic Party?
Well, this is a broader issue because obviously elites of all kinds.
are highly educated. So members of Congress, Republican and Democrat, are 95 percent college
educated. Most of them now have graduate degrees. The people in the media, people in educational
institutions, people in nonprofits, in the corporate world are all very highly educated and
increasingly taking on the views, the culturally liberal views of college educated liberals.
That doesn't mean it's everybody. That doesn't mean it's everybody. But it does mean that
those people who are in those institutions, but find themselves disagreeing with the consensus,
do develop a chip on their shoulder and want to point it out to the rest. So you have a lot
conservative. There's also peer pressure. It's peer pressure in a lot of, like you certainly
know that at Michigan State. There's peer pressure to think a certain way. I mean,
my alma mater, Harvard and Boston University, overwhelmingly liberal there, overwhelmingly.
And if you don't tow that line, then your career is going to be in jeopardy.
So there's that factor as well.
The book, again, is polarized by degrees by Matt Grossman.
I'm going to read that book, Professor.
And it's very nice of you to help us out this evening.
Thank you very much.
All right, let's go to RFK Jr.
He has a doomed campaign.
And just before we went to air, he made an announcement that he's going to say something on
Friday and what he's going to say is I'm pulling out of the race. Number one, he has no money.
Number two, he can't get on the state ballots. Number three, his VP, and I don't want to be
cruel here, a woman named Nicole Shanahan, very wealthy Silicon Valley woman, said this yesterday.
go there's two options that we're looking at and one is staying in forming that new party
but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walt's presidency because we draw votes from
Trump or we draw somehow more votes from Trump or we walk away right now and join forces
with Donald Trump.
And that's probably going to happen on Friday.
So RFK is going to throw in with Trump
because he hates the Democrats,
because the Democrats disrespected him.
And Trump, I think, is going to give him
some kind of cabinet position,
maybe Secretary of the Interior or something like that.
But that's all going to come on Friday.
You may have noticed last night,
if you were watching the convention,
that the Olympic men's basketball coach,
Steve Kerr,
who is a coach of the Golden State Warriors gave a rousing pro-Comola speech.
Roll it.
It's why I'm here tonight, and it's why I'll be getting out every day
to help people get out and vote on November 5th
and elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walls as the next president
and vice president of the United States.
Now, we put in a call to Coach Kerr to come on.
I don't like to know why.
Now, he lives in San Francisco, so that might be one reason, but I'd like a friendly conversation with the coach.
People said, oh, you're not doing anything now.
Call back.
I don't expect him to be here, but I would be very curious to know why he took his time and went to that convention.
Now, before you criticize him, you've got to understand it, Hulk Hogan and Dana White were at the Republican Convention.
So these guys were entitled to whatever opinion they want to hold.
I don't hold it against them.
The FBI has announced that Iran hacked into the Trump campaign, something to do with Roger Stone.
I guess they hacked into his computer and Stone is involved with the Trump campaign.
Nothing major.
Of course, Iran says they didn't do it.
FBI says they did do it.
Okay.
But the more important issue is you may remember a few weeks ago, all of the pundits on television,
We're saying Iran is going to attack Israel.
Iran's going to attack, Iran's going to attack, and there was one skeptic.
You're looking at them right here.
I said, I don't think so.
Roll it.
Now, there's a lot of hysteria about Iran's going to attack Israel.
Iran's going to do this.
Iran's going to do that.
I don't report that stuff.
I say, I hope it doesn't happen, obviously.
that's trite. Everybody hopes it doesn't have. Well, not it. And I say that it would be bad for Iran
if it does. Bad for Iran. And that's why they won't attack because Iran does not have the
military capability of defeating Israel or launching a ground war or launching an air war. They can
launch missiles. They can use their proxies, Hezbollah Hamas, the idiots in the Houthis. But they can't
launch an attack. And Netanyahu, believe me, wants Iran to attack Israel. Because that gives
him card block to go in and level the place. First thing that would happen is that Israel
would bomb their four ports in the Gulf, knocking out all their oil exportation. And the people
are not doing well now. I imagine if they didn't have any shipping. And then they go right for
the nukes, Israel.
Well, I'm not going to do that.
I mean, when I watch this stuff on television,
oh, get ready to do it.
I just go, my God, there should be an exam given if you want to do commentary on television.
Oh, all right, DNC ratings, first night, Monday night, MSNBC, one.
This is great.
So if you're a left-wing loon, that's where you go.
MSNB is because they're other loons there.
What's the cliche, birds of the feather?
Okay.
So they got 4.6 million and then NBC News, apart from MSNBC, but worked for the same company.
They got 1-8.
They were the last rated NBC News.
Okay, second was CNN.
They must be shocked over there.
They got 3.2 million.
That's five times as many viewers as they usually get.
ABC 2.8.
Fox News, 4th, 2.4 million.
CBS News 2, and as I said, NBC News was the last.
So total first night, 20 million, all right, watched the Democratic Convention.
The Republican Convention, first night, was 18 million.
Not fairly close.
As far as a comparison of four years ago for the DNC, about the same, but down about
six million from when Hillary Clinton ran in 216. Smart Life. And this is dedicated to you, this
segment. So if you have a car and it's not under warranty, and we absolutely recommend our sponsors
to get the warranty, you need it. But if you don't, you're going to pay a fortune to get your
car fixed now. And here are the five worst cars.
to fix. Are we ready, smart life people? Ferrari, number one, so most people don't have that.
We don't have to worry about it. Bentley, same thing. These are ultra-expensive cars. Porsche. Land Rover.
Whoa, Land Rover, very expensive. And Mercedes-Benz is fifth. Of course, I will never, ever buy a Mercedes-Benz
because of their association with the Third Reich, and they got away with it. They got away with it.
They got away with it, Mercedes, but I know because I wrote Killing the SS.
No Mercedes for me.
This day in history, August 21st, 1863, terrorism in the Civil War.
I mean that literally.
So 161 years ago was a group called Quantrell's Raiders.
They attack civilians.
They're in Kansas.
They raided Lawrence, Kansas.
I've been there, a nice town.
they killed almost 200 unarmed men and boys, 200.
And a number of African Americans were in that crew.
So Quantrell was associated with the Confederate Army
and his bushwhackers went in and just murdered people.
Do you know that?
Okay.
That's terrorism.
Now, there were atrocities on both sides,
but I don't know of any union organized terrorists.
If you do, let me know.
I wrote Killing Lincoln,
that I'd like to know if there were any union brigades that were gunning down civilians.
Now, you can make an argument that Sherman's March to the Sea, make that argument.
Okay, but this one, they targeted men and boys and blacks, this Quintrault.
Well, in 1865, May 10th, the Union Army caught him, okay?
And they shot him, and he fell off his horse, was paralyzed, and he died a few weeks later from his wounds.
Good. Guy was a terrorist. He didn't deserve to live, in my opinion, my humble opinion.
Part of his crew was a young teenager named Jesse James. For two years, Jesse James terrorized the West.
So that happened 161 years ago today. All right, we'll be back with a final thought. I got a lot of info about the interview tomorrow with J.D. Vance.
Final thought, here we go. So tomorrow, Thursday.
no spin news. We'll analyze Walsz. He's going to speak tonight at DNC, but we are going to lead
with Senator J.D. Vance and all policy all the time. No cat ladies, no cat gentlemen, no cats, period.
Not going to be any cats in that interview. It'll be policy. I want to know what the senator
thinks about the United States and how he would solve certain problems because I don't know J.D. Vance.
never spoken with him, never met it. I was kind of surprised that Trump picked him. We'll get into
that, how that selection went down. So I'm going to give the Senator a lot of time because we've
been trying for weeks to land this interview, finally did, and I think it will be one for the
ages, and it will go all over the place. And as I mentioned, tomorrow, we're going to give
you the staggering numbers of people who watch and listen to the no-spin news.
It just blew me away.
So it's over for corporate media.
Over.
Done.
Audience is 75 and up for them.
Those are people who don't access social media.
Okay?
They do what they've always done.
They sit in the living room, get the clicker, done.
But Americans 75 years and younger?
No more.
because it's too corrupt.
Okay, next week, I'm on vacation.
It's been a rough summer because of Holly the Teradog.
We're still dealing with her health issues.
She's hanging tough.
I'm taking Holly out to Eastern Long Island.
It's kind of a breather for her and breather for me.
But one of the criticisms of Donald Trump is that he doesn't emphasize policy enough.
It's too much other stuff.
We are going to do four nights on Bill O'Reilly.com next week, Monday through Thursday, of the O'Reilly Trump
History Tour.
Everybody can access, not just Premier and Concierge, everybody.
Okay?
That's 100% policy.
First night Fort Lauderdale, second night Orlando, third night, Houston, fourth night Dallas.
We're going to run them in because what we talked about,
Trump and I in those shows is absolutely relevant to today.
So, don't miss any of these.
Now, we're going to put them up earlier in the day, all right?
And we're going to keep them up for 24 hours, and then we'll put the next one up.
That's how it's going to go down when I'm on vacation.
Okay, I think you're going to find it fascinating.
And we're going to do that as a public service.
He'll tell everybody you know.
You want to know what Trump thinks about issues, policies,
I got it. Nobody else has it. Just us. Bill O'Reilly.com.
Thank you for watching and listening this evening. We'll see you again tomorrow.
