Oh, man. Shop back to school at IKEA. Hey Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News, Monday, August 3rd, 2006. Stand up for your country. Busy news day, all over the place. We've got it covered, all the major stories. And I got up this morning, you know, fairly early because I got to get things ordered. Why am I working? Talk is third. And then I couldn't answer the question, so then I continued to work. That's life, right? So we got Iran, we got a migrant invasion of Spain, we got left-wing takeover of the Smithsonian, outrageous story. We begin, though, with Dr. Fauci and the Americans who still support him. Fascinating story.

That's the Tocke points memo. So Fauci, as you noticed, filed last Wednesday, July 29th, took the fifth. Senate Homeland Security Committee ran Paul. And the reason that he had to testify was because he wrote in his diary, a whole bunch of stuff that contradicted what he said in public. It's a simple story. Okay. And now everybody's mad at Fauci except the people who supported him from the beginning.

And I'll prove it, of course, in a moment. So the COVID thing will be with us forever, particularly among children. It's never going to go away. Everybody's going to remember it. And then there was a division in the country about how we should react to COVID. And there were the Fauci people. And then there were the other people who didn't buy what Fauci was saying. and then a robust anti-vaccine group grew on social media.

So remember all that, but I want to set the stage here. Okay, it was primarily progressive leftist that supported Fauci and the Democratic Party, primarily, but not exclusively. Okay? So the president of the United States time, Joe Biden, he loved Fauci. Go. First of all, I don't trust the president on vaccines. I trust Dr. Fauci. If Fauci says the vaccine is safe, I take the vaccine.

That we should listen to the scientist, not to the president, number one. Listen to the scientists. I love that. Like Fauci, who now again writes in his private diary that what he was saying publicly was wrong, but we got to listen to the scientists, according to President Biden. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House at the time, same thing. Go. Dr. Fauci is a truth teller.

He's science, knowledge. evidence, data, and that's what we have to have if we're going to have a cure and not just, I heard this works. Oh, so he's a science, knowledge, data, but he isn't. Now, you would think that maybe Nancy Pelosi would say, yeah, I'm sorry I was wrong about them. Never. In a million years. Never.

Will that happen? And it wasn't, as I said, just on the left. Here's the Republican senator from Louisiana. Go. I had nothing but the highest respect for Anthony Fauci. Period. End of story. Do sometimes facts on the ground change and perceptions change?

Absolutely. Fauci said today that he was not the end all. So he's bringing a certain humility to it. Yeah, humility. that's good. He's lying about it. Come. Now, Cassidy is out. He ran into trouble with Trump and lost the primary, and so he's gone. I don't know what that has any do with Fauci.

So the media, then, the left-wing media, throws in with Fauci. 100%. CNN, MSNBC, all the network. Fouchy science, that was a science, oh yeah, yeah. Now, Fox didn't know what to do. They didn't know what to do. So they were kind of like back and forth, but there wasn't like, it wasn't like a mag of movement.

Fox is behind that, but back then, executives didn't know what to tell the talent. So Fox was all over the place. right after Fauci testified last week. Here's what the socialist Lawrence O'Donnell said on MS. Republican senators disgraced themselves today, attacking the man who saved lives, possibly millions of lives during the COVID-19 outbreak,

the man who helped speed the development of a vaccine because of the research that he had led and supported on exactly that kind of virus for years. years before the outbreak of the pandemic in anticipation of exactly the kind of pandemic that hit the world in 2020. That is such a lie. It's staggering. Number one, President Trump was responsible for the vaccine.

Operation Warp Speed, not Anthony Fauci. Fouching had anything to do with it. Number two, possibly millions of lies. How do you back that up? How do you back that up? You can't back it up. Because Fauci was thrown out everything every day, this, you got to do this, you got to do that. A lot of it didn't work.

The big one for me was European schools open, not American schools. Okay? So, I mean, these people are just so far out there. I know they believe what they want to believe, and that's universal, but come on. So why, why is the progressive movement so enamored with Anthony Fauci? Not about Fauci. It's about larger government. This is important.

The federal government is to the progressives, a playground. the movement today is to wipe out all restraints on spending. That's today's movement from the Progressive. We don't want any limits on spending. None. The progressives want a giant federal government to tell all of us what to do, how to do it, what we can't have, what we can't have.

That's communism. That's what they want. I don't care what they call it. themselves and it's exactly what they want oh they wanted a federal government to tell them what to do during COVID and Fauci was the face of that that is why it was almost a hundred percent support for the man and continues to be you don't see anybody and I you know I'm disappointed Fauci was a charlatan, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay, so I write a column yesterday, the Sunday column,

and said, what would Jesus do? And I get into the migrant stuff, which we'll get to in a moment. That's mainly what I was writing about. But in the back of my mind, I was going, if there is a God, does God want a giant totalism, state? I don't think that God liked the Roman Empire? How about the Third Reich? How about

communist China and Russia? You couldn't possibly. So that's in there. Now Fauci has got a pardon from the Biden people, you know that. But the states of Louisiana and Florida are starting to investigate him. I don't know what for, it's just beginning, but the attorneys general in those states, they're looking to get them. Okay, and then other red states will join.

And they'll try to nail them on a state level, on damage done to the individual states. So Fauci is going to be in court for the next five years. The feds can't get them because of the pardon, but the states, if they can prove that Fauci committed a state crime, they can get them. That'll be, you know, now Fauci's got to be funded. He can't pay the bills, his legal bills on that.

So he'll go into the progressive movement, you know, Thoros will pick up the tab or somebody like that. And that's the memo. All right, Iran, for the eighth time, President Trump has stopped military action to try to negotiate something. He said it very clearly. He doesn't want to kill a lot of people. And I knew that from the very beginning, and I told you that. He just doesn't want to kill a lot of Persians to overthrow the Mullahs. You know, he might have to.

My analysis last week was, you got to destroy Tehran. You got to give the people warning, coming, but you got to destroy it. That's the only way you're going to win this thing. But I could be wrong, and I am hoping that this latest negotiation will be successful. Well, it happened because Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states said, look, we don't want you to go in and destroy the Persian culture and Iran. So let's try another way. I don't know what the other way is. I don't get that information.

But Trump has paused for the eighth time. Back home. So Bernie Sanders is ramping up. Now, keep your eye on old Bernie. Bernie is the godfather of the communist movement in America. All right. So he goes on all of the communist social media shows, and he just blathers away. Roll the tape.

Well, I think you look at what Mandani is doing in New York City. Contrast that to Trump. Trump cuts funding for childcare. Mamdani thinks that we should have free and universal child care. Maldani is trying to build low-income and affordable housing in New York City. Trump is cutting funding. Mandani opposes, as most of us do, the endless wars that are being fought right now through Trump, as well as the extremist Israeli government and their genocidal policies in Gaza.

I'll point this out again. Bernie saying is Jewish. It's shocking. So, you know, I don't know how much of propaganda. He and Lawrence O'Donnell might have. lunch together and just, trouble was to cut child. Big government,

that's what Bernie wants. He wants the big government to raise your kids, my kids. That's what he wants. That's what they have in China. There's no race kids in China. Government raises them. That's what, when you hear the words, and I mean, the American public is just so,

I don't know what the word is, uninformed probably, of free and universal child care. Free and universal child care. That's everything. That's school. That's meds. That's playground activities. That's trans people. That's everything. Government makes all, you don't make any calls. That's what Bernie Sanders wants. Now, he is a danger. But, and shockingly, this is true, Bernie Sanders has made inroads into capitalism and freedom in this country. And here's a good example. The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. They've been there? It used to be magnificent. So it gets a billion dollars a year from we, the taxpayer, to operate it.

It's the world's largest education research complex, 21 museums, 14 education research centers, and the National Zoo. Okay, I don't know if Trump wants universal animal care, but Bernie would probably support that. So a billion dollars goes in. So a woman running part of the Smithsonian is Anthea Hartake. And she is a progressive.

And so the displays in the Smithsonian are leaning toward the far left. America's bad, America's colony, everything's bad. We're all bad. This Smithsonian, because of this woman. And Thea Hartig. So the Trump administration didn't like that. Doesn't like it, and sends a U.S. assistant attorney into the Smithsonian to gather facts. Her name is Lindsay Halligan, and she joins us now from Palm Beach, Florida.

So what did you see when you went in? Number one, what was your mandate to go over the Smithsonian? And what did you see? Thanks for having me. So the president's not much of a museum goer, but I am. And so when I moved to D.C. to work in the White House, I went and visited the monuments. I went to the Smithsonian Museums. And as you said, it's a collection of museums, most of which are in D.C.

And, you know, not all of them are bad. The Air and Space Museum is good. I don't know how you can go wrong with war planes and the space shuttle. But then when you go to the National Portrait Gallery and then, National Museum of American History. You can't get past a artifact with a placard written below it that's interpreted through the same lens, whether it's race, gender, sexual identity. It's a pattern that's impossible to ignore. And, you know, the Smithsonian is not the same Smithsonian that you visited on your sixth grade class trip. I think back then you expected and you did see excellence,

but now excellence itself often felt like a supporting character. So whether it was an Olympic champion, a Hall of Fame, or a musician, an iconic actor, their achievement frequently became secondary to the identity category that they represented. So for instance, a warlitzer juke box from the 50s became a lesson on white supremacy and segregation. A 1920s circus poster became a... a prop to discuss colonialism. A woman's World Cup soccer jersey became a story about a player kissing her girlfriend. And then even Indiana Jones hat was not safe from this ideological grasp.

The placard below his hat said that he was a white stoic male. And so when I visited the museums, I brought it to the president's attention. and then we were able to get an executive order done, and now the vice president and the domestic policy advisor are in charge. But like you said, Congress appropriates over a billion dollars, and that's just what Congress gives the Smithsonian. Private donors give a lot. Sure.

And with that level of public funding, I think comes a responsibility to distinguish to visitors clearly between simply documenting history and advancing our particular political. narrative. Now, when you saw it's rock and roll memorabilia emphasizing racial segregation, as you pointed out, Indiana Jones's hat, Indiana's a white chauvinist, was something bad? White stoic male, yeah, I don't know why they put that in there with that. So when you saw us, were you surprised? I was surprised that, yeah, I mean, I was surprised. I think, you know, I know the left is accusing the administration and me of wanting

to sanitize or whitewash history. But I think, like I said, people go to the Smithsonian to see excellence. And the remarkable story of America isn't that people experienced hardship because God knows every nation experiences hardship. America's story is more so that people from every race, religion and ethnicity and background. Yeah, repeatedly overcame hardship together. And I think there needs to be more of a common thread of what unites us rather than what separates us. You know, it's not unique to Smithsonian and D.C.

In New York City, I should say, the Museum of Natural History, another fabulous place, tore down a statue of Theodore Roosevelt. Right. Because he's a bad guy, isn't it? So this is all about propaganda. It's about inculcating younger people. There's waves of kids that go in there and they see all those how. Well, I didn't know we were so bad on and on.

And now you say that Vice President Vance is aware of this and he, what is he going to do? Does he know what he's going to do? Yeah, so, well, one of the first steps we took was we met with the secretary of the Smithsonian and Lonnie Bunch who makes, I think, $4 million every couple of years. And he came to the White House. We had lunch with the president and him. And he was a perfect politician. He was very complimentary of the president.

He acknowledged our concerns. He said that he was going to write the wrongs. He basically said that the curators took it too far. And he made some steps. The National Portrait Gallery Director was removed. and then a portrait depicting the Statue of Liberty as a transgender person was not exhibited. But beyond that, it was just words. And so now the White House is having the Secretary of the Interior put up signs outside of the museums,

telling and warning visitors that what they're seeing in there is not 100% truth-based. But I think moving forward, you have to hit the Smithsonian where it hurts, and that's Congress cutting funding. I can only imagine how much these curators make, and I don't think you need to be an expert curator to write some of these placards that I saw. Well, I think it should be fair and run by a bunch of historians.

I'll volunteer for accuracy, and you've got to be fair. I mean, look, the United States, like every other country has ever existed, has done bad things, and those bad things should not be whitewashed. But when the tone is that, you know, we're just a ad nation from the jump, then you're into progressive territory. Now, one of the things about your career is that controversy follows Lindsay Halligan. Okay, wherever you go, controversy follows you. So you were the lead U.S. attorney in the Comey prosecution, not the seashell thing, which is going nowhere.

Right. All right. But leaking to the New York Times and this and that. You're also involved with the Letitia James, the Attorney General in New York, who apparently, allegedly, dodged taxes by buying a place in Virginia. Both cases were thrown out on the same day. Okay? Both cases. And the reason they were thrown out is because the judge, All right. Cameron McGowan Curry said that you, Lindsay Halligan, were illegally appointed, were something like that. Where are those cases now? Yeah, and she, you know, the jurisdiction for the Comey indictment was in Virginia as well as the Letitia James indictment. So Cameron Curry is a judge out of South Carolina. and God only knows why the chief judge in Virginia assigned her to rule on this case. But nonetheless, the appeal on those dismissals is set for the oral argument is set for September 15th.

And it really speaks to a bigger constitutional separation of powers issue because it's been two years and the president can't staff his own executive branch. The attorney general cannot choose their own U.S. attorneys. because the statute, well, the judges are interpreting the statute to mean that the attorney general can only appoint one interim U.S. attorney for one 120-day period. And after that, if they're not Senate confirmed, the ball kicks to the district court and they can appoint the U.S. attorney. And, you know, the judiciary's role is to decide cases and controversies, allowing federal judges to determine who leads a U.S. attorney's office, raises significant separation. of power concerns, and I think deserves a clear authoritative answer from the Supreme Court. And so we'll see how this oral argument goes on September 15th.

But hopefully the Supreme Court hears this. And both cases, Comey and Letitia James, are being appealed and are going to go forward in the appeals court to fourth district. Just kind of a liberal court. But if you're in the system, then you can go up to the Supreme Court. Anyway, keep us mostly, counselor. Thanks very much. And it's nice to have you on a program. Thank you. Okay. Let's go to Spain. Yeah, three dog night. I've never been to Spain, but I kind of like the music. 70,000 at least migrants from Africa, pour across a very narrow isthmus by Gibraltar trying to get from Morocco into Spain.

That's what happened. Now, about, I'm trying to get a number on this, but at least 75 people are dead. 75 people are dead. Now, the Spanish and Morocco and said, oh, 98% are back. We found them all, and we brought them back to Morocco. I'm a little skeptical about that. And so the people living in Spain, they get in travel.

So I had to call them and said, you know, what would Jesus do? because Pope Leo has inserted himself into this debate, as you know. And I don't know what Jesus would do. I know that I'm called upon as a Roman Catholic to be kind and humane to poor people and people who are suffering. It's a mandate. It's not a debate. I have to do it if I want to be in good stead. However, my thesis, which I'd love to present to Pope Leo is by not insisting in social order

and in some kind of policy that is disciplined, you're killing more people, far more people than letting everybody in. If you disagree with that, I want to hear from you, but far more people are dead. Okay, because of various circumstances. So does Jesus want far more people dead? I can't imagine that. Italy says that this is Georgia Maloney, the prime minister of Italy who's feuding with Trump. She's not going to allow EU people from Spain to fly in. into Italy or something. I don't know. Once you're in the EU territory, then you can go anywhere you want without a pass. What I told you my story that I flew from Ireland and to England, and nobody checked anything. And you just come on in. That's open borders all across Europe. This is an outrageous story in New York, which has fallen apart completely, the state and the city. So a little baby girl is born. Okay?

two and a half months ago. Her name is London Gonzalez, or it was. So on July 7th, she died from malnutrition. Her parents say they recklessly kill their baby. They admitted it. Okay? How you could do that isn't beyond me. But they did it. They say they did it. So Erie County Court Judge, James Barganzi, another. They're progressive. There's James. I'll wipe that smile off your face, Judge. If I ever run into you, he gives him no jail time, these two.

Time served 45 days. So they kill their baby by not feeding the baby. This guy gives them no jail time. I don't know when we're going to wake up here in New York. This has got to stop. Guy's name again is James. Marnizzi, Bar Nigsie, B-A-R-G-N-E-S-I, Eerie County, Buffalo, New York. I write him a letter, don't curse at him.

This guy, I mean, stays on a bench. And how about Governor Hokel? So, or nothing. It's so upsetting. Sophie Cunningham, the basketball player, WNBA, says, you know what, I believe as an American that if you are a biological man trying to become a woman, you shouldn't compete with biological women on the sporting field. Now, Sophie Cunningham plays for the Indiana fever, is being assaulted.

physically on the court for saying what she said. Go. It is just a defensive foul. No hostile act occurred. There was no secondary act after the defensive foul. Play resumed with Minnesota ball on the sideline. Oh, you didn't realize they called that on Sophie Cunningham. No, okay.

I think it should be an offensive foul. I don't think it should be a defensive foul. Somebody's going to get hurt, and it's probably going to be Sophie Cunningham. all right because she took that position now the commissioner of the w nba is a woman named kathy engelbert has done absolutely nothing to stop all this nothing zero in fact the coach of the other team

Minnesota links of course Minnesota Cheryl reeve wore a shirt during the game this has got to be against league rules trans kids belong so they're ganging up on Sophie Cunningham. They're trying to hurt her. And who's doing anything about it? Who? What should happen is Ms. Cunningham's congressperson in Indiana should be protecting her.
