Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America.
Donald J. Trump indicted.
Protesters, January 6th, the Tennessee Capitol.
Russia arrested an American.
And one percentage of Americans are very satisfied with their job.
That's all coming up.
Then Bill will be here with the message of the day.
Donald J. Trump, first president to ever be indicted for a crime.
Now, you would have hoped that the first president indicted for a crime.
It would have been a doozy.
But this is a ridiculous charge, and every honest person knows it.
Everyone was surprised by the timing because the grand jury was supposed to go on a month-long vacation,
but they got it in right before they all left.
Usually, there is a negotiated surrender with a crime like this?
Crime like this?
But with Trump, who knows?
Donald Trump Jr. said, this is like communist level blank.
This is stuff that would make Mao Stalin poll pot.
It would make them blush.
People on the left are saying, oh, no one's above the law, which is true.
But that's not what this is.
The Attorney General of New York said, vote for me, and we'll go after Trump, crime TBD.
This isn't find a broken law and then go after the person who did it.
This is find the person and then look for the broken law.
And the one they found couldn't have been more absurd.
the only question now is how much of a bump in the polls do you think Trump will get from this
400 protesters rushed into the Tennessee state capital in Nashville calling for stricter
gun control laws videos show six state troopers holding back an angry mob trying to get into where
the lawmakers were the Tennessee Democratic Party advertised to this event
encouraging people to raise your voice at the capital nothing in their messaging about
peacefully like Donald Trump did on January 6th
Russia arrested a 31-year-old American journalist from the Wall Street Journal on charges of espionage.
The Wall Street Journal says they vehemently deny the allegations and demand his immediate release.
His lawyer was not allowed to meet with him and journalists were barred from the courtroom
and the Russian media said it was necessary because a bomb threat was called to the building.
Yeah, I'm sure.
Russia is a level four travel advisory from the state departments on the do not travel list.
They say all Americans should leave the country immediately.
He is the first American journalist to be detained in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union.
Do you like your job?
What percentage of Americans do you think are extremely satisfied or very satisfied with their job?
What percent do you think?
It's 51%.
67% of people say that they really enjoy and are very satisfied being with their coworkers.
Only 35% are satisfied with how much they're paid.
Bill O'Reilly with your message to the day.

you get your podcast. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. The nation mourns
three more innocent children murdered. This time by a trans person in Tennessee who also shot
three adults to death. The site was a religious school. The killer shot dead by police,
as you know. Almost immediately, President Biden had an assault rifle ban because he has no
idea how to stop violent crime and could not care less. He's always falling back on cliches.
So forgive my cynicism, but if the hapless president really cared about human life, he'd protect
the southern border, the transshipment point for fentanyl and other dangerous narcotics,
which are killing hundreds of thousands. Now, the Tennessee killer was obviously mentally ill
and evil. No other explanation.
In a nation of 330 million, there are legions of mentally ill people.
Strictly enforce, gun bans might cut down on a few murders, but certainly will not solve the violence problem.
In fact, nothing will stop violent mayhem, just as nothing will stop mental illness.
Containment is all we can hope for.
Once again, all gun crimes committed in the USA should be federal offenses.
federal offenses with strict mandatory prison time. As for the powerful rifles, individual states
should decide the license requirements, because New York City is far different than Wyoming.
The Second Amendment allows for lawful firearm protection. That's not going to change. But to
protect us from harm, we need to get tougher. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by
writing it. You can reach me.

Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town, if you wish to opine.
All right, let's go to the mail.
We got George, a concierge member,
and I'll have a word about that in a moment.
They keep talking about when Social Security may run out of money,
but they never mention when welfare will run out of money,
and when are we going to run out of foreign aid money?
Never, never on any of them.
We'll just borrow it.
That's what we do.
In America, we borrow, borrow, borrow.
That's why we have $32 trillion in debt.
Mark, in my opinion, 99% of Trump supporters are peaceful law-abiding folks who just want what's best.
1% are violent idiots.
That's no different than 1% of police, Catholic priests, etc.
Every group has some bad people.
I don't think it would make much of a difference in Donald Trump use the term nonviolent.
That doesn't, so what?
He should say peaceful whenever he's rallying his supporters.
What's the downside?
Okay, let's go to Kevin Slattery, good Irishman.
I am a conservative, many of my friends are as well.
Among those I know, none of us like Donald Trump.
Okay.
Certainly a minority in the Republican Party feel the way you do, Kevin.
Deborah Carney, Kilgore, Texas.
I always look forward to the NOSBIN News.
In my quest for the truth, I found that you supply it, O'Reilly.
Thank you.
As a premium member, I don't care.
how Trump comes off in tweets or whatever platform he uses. He kept the country safe. He made
his energy independent. No inflation. My life was much better when he was president. There you go.
Carolyn, concierge remember the Dems and media supporters made the mistake of declaring that there
was absolutely no irregularities in the 2020 election. And anybody who disagreed was a conspiracy
person or a white supremacist. They never accepted ex-president Trump.
Trump's win in 2016. I think there's some truth to that. If you hold the opinion,
the election was rigged, that's your opinion. In a moment, something you might not know.

Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Now the O'Reilly update brings
you something you might not know. 59 years ago, a rock band from the West Coast of England
dominated the charge on both sides of the Atlantic. By the end of 1964, the group had a
record-breaking 10 singles on the Billboard top 100 chart.
Here are the Beatles hits in just one year.
I saw her standing there, 200,000 copies sold in the USA.
Do you want to know a secret?
500,000 copies sold.
P.S. I love you, 600,000.
Please, please me. A million.
Twist and shout, a cover.
A million.
Can't buy me.
me love, a million, love me do, another million. A hard day's night. One point two million
records sold in America. She loves you, great tune, 1.4 million, and I want to hold your hand
five million copies in the USA alone, 12 million worldwide. And that was because the Beatles went and sang
that song on the Ed Sullivan show. And their appearance on Sullivan remains one of the most
watched televised events in human history. According to the U.S. Census Bureau,
85 million Americans tuned in to see the Fab Four, roughly half of the entire population at the time.
Now, if you go back and listen to the 10 singles that were on the Billboard chart in one
year, which is a record, as I said. They're all pretty good tunes. On their light, there's no LSD
references or no drug stuff. There's no shady things at all. They're just nice pop songs,
and kids love them. Even the parents of the kids like the Beatles, unlike Elvis. Kids like
Delvesant, the parents were a little dubious. When the Beatles came along, I remember my folks,
I was about 13, 14 when they rolled in. My parents didn't mind them. They thought the haircuts
were dopey, but they understood the showbiz aspect of it. So, 59 years ago, the Beatles broke
the record for most hits in one year. Back after this.
Power, politics and the people behind the headlines.
