Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It's Monday, April 14th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America.
Colt murderer. Arson and Governor's House. Temporary tariff exemption and Masters win.
It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, a 17-year-old in Wisconsin allegedly killed his parents in pursuit of the, quote, financial means and autonomy.
to then assassinate President Trump.
The 17-year-old was part of a satanic cult,
this is all according to court documents,
a satanic cult with strong anti-Jewish,
anti-Christian and anti-Western ideologies.
Investigators found a manifesto
which described a call to assassinate President Trump
make and detonate bombs
and carry out other terrorist attacks.
The charges include two counts of first-degree murder,
two counts of hiding a corpse.
He also faces federal charges
tied to the planned assassination.
In other political violence news, a 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the fire at
the governor's mansion in Pennsylvania. It was 2 a.m. Josh Shapiro, the governor and his family
and two dogs were in the house. No one was injured. The 38-year-old was charged with attempted
murder, terrorism, aggravated arson, and assault. The governor said it was a targeted attack.
Police say the suspect climbed a fence, and while troopers were looking for him in the middle
the night. He set the house on fire, and this all took place over a period of several minutes.
It was announced on Friday night that a range of electronic devices will be exempt from tariffs on
China. Big tech companies happy about this, of course. Smartphones, computers, solar cells, flat panel
TV displays, and semiconductor-based storage devices, among others, exempt from the tariffs. But
the Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnik, said this weekend all those products are going to come under
semiconductors that I just listed, and they're going to have a special focus type of
tariff to make sure that those products get resured. We need to have semiconductors. We need to have
chips and we need to have flat panels. We can't be reliant on Southeast Asia for all the things
that operate for us. He said, so what President Trump's doing, he's saying they're exempt from
the reciprocal tariffs, but they're included in the semiconductor tariffs, which are coming
in probably a month or two. So those will be coming soon. Rory McElroy, when the green
Jack at the Masters yesterday, came down to a playoff between Justin Rose and McElroy, where he got a
birdie on the first hole to win it. This is a career grand slam for him, his fifth major title.
He's the sixth player in history to have the career grand slam. He's also the first Masters champion
to earn over $4 million for the win. The first million dollar winner was Tiger Woods back in
2005. He was also the first $2 million winner. I'm Mike Slater.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Monday, it is all about emotion.
The stock market up, down, in, out.
Not because the companies are doing well or failing,
but because of one man, Donald Trump.
And whatever he does, as far as international trade, or even some domestic policies, the stock market watches it and then people sell if they don't like it.
And then when the market goes down, other people speculators buy up and down.
This is not good.
Now, the American people are soft.
I'm sorry, it's true.
You know it's true.
The Chinese people are hard.
The Russian people are hard.
Their leadership in both of those countries don't give a fig about individuals.
We are all expendable.
But in America, we the people have rights, demands, and expectations.
And we don't expect our income portfolios money we worked hard to obtain to go down.
that's what's happening. Therefore, emotion comes in, fear, loathing, all of that directed at the guy
in the middle of all this, Donald Trump. It is not fair, but it is reality. I think the president
knows that. Now, I'm rooting for the USA to win this trade thing. I hope it does, but there
are no assurances. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can't

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. It is officially holy week around the
world. 2.4 billion Christians will honor the resurrection of Jesus, who they believe to be God.
While most believers agree on the central tenets of the Christian faith, many sects disagree on some details.
Here are the stats on modern Christianity around the world.
The biggest branch, Roman Catholics, 1.3 billion members in every country on Earth.
The church, meaning universal in Latin, dates back to the death of the Nazarene.
Shortly after the crucifixion, the Apostle,
Peter was named the first Pope.
The second largest Christian sect Protestants.
That movement began in the 16th century when a German monk, Martin Luther, began speaking
out against the Vatican.
Then British King Henry VIII established the Church of England so he could divorce and
eventually execute his wife.
Protestants reject the authority of the Pope, emphasizing
a believer's personal relationship with Jesus. The movement encompasses thousands of different
sex, most popular in America, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian. Worldwide membership,
800 million people. The third largest Christian branch, Eastern Orthodox. The church split from the
Vatican in the 11th century. The new religion was based in Constantinople, then the capital of the
Eastern Roman Empire. In total, there are 300 million members in Greece, Eastern Europe, and Russia.
While the so-called big three branches of Christianity comprised 90% of the planet's population,
which believe in Jesus, followers of smaller sects number in the tens of millions, Mormons,
Jehovah's Witness, the Amish, the Coptic Church. And here's something else you might not know.
While Holy Week is primarily observed by the followers of Jesus, the events are also intertwined with other religions.
Muslims regard the Nazarene as a prophet, but reject his role as a Messiah.
Jews around the world will celebrate Passover with a traditional Seder, the same meal Jesus ate at the last supper.
