Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America. SpaceX success. BuzzFeed News explodes. Dems vote against women.
Starting point is 00:00:21 And the A's vote against Oakland. It's all coming up. Then Bill will be here with the message of the day. But first, a space X rocket had a rapid unscheduled disassembled disassembled. It blew up. The company, owned of course by Elon Musk, tried to launch the most powerful rocket ever. It was over 400 feet tall. It's a 40-story building.
Starting point is 00:00:41 They launched in South Texas, 24 miles up in the air. It exploded over the Gulf of Mexico, four minutes into the flight. Here is sound of the SpaceX team as their rocket exploded. You can hear how sad everybody was. Everything after clearing the tower was icing on the cake. pick. And there, as you saw, as we promised, an exciting end to the Star Trek inaugural, integrated test flight.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Wait a second, it blew up. Why are they cheering? Why are they happy? NASA and SpaceX hailed this as a success. Why? Musk said it had a 50% chance of succeeding. And it was really just a test to see how far. far away from the launch pad they could get.
Starting point is 00:01:31 You heard the announcer early on say anything above the launch pad was icing on the cake. BuzzFeed News will shut down. They had a rapid unscheduled disassembly, but anyone could have seen that coming. BuzzFeed got famous for making those completely useless listicles, half article, half list, like 17 foods that white people have ruined and dumb quizzes like, what type of grilled cheese are you? BuzzFeed was the first outlet to publish the Steele dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign used by the FBI to obtain warrants to spy on Biden's 2016 campaign. A bill that would protect women's sports passed the House yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:09 The bill says that any recipient of federal financial assistance, which operates a sports league, cannot permit a person who sexes male to participate in an activity designed for women or girls. The legislation passed with not a single Democrat voting for the bill. That is remarkable. Even the Oakland A's are leaving. California, the A's bought land to build a $1.5 billion, $35,000 seat stadium in Las Vegas. The A's started in Philadelphia in 1901, moved to Kansas City in 1955, and then to Oakland
Starting point is 00:02:41 in 1968, 55 years, and they can't take it in California anymore. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith. The great Bill O'Reilly will be here with your message of the day. Next. Big energy in liberal media corridors as Fox News is punished for foolish coverage of the 2020 election. As you may know, FNC will pay almost 800 million to the Dominion Voting Machine Company and has admitted some of its programs misled viewers and some Fox personnel knew that was happening in real time.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Because FNC will not be completely destroyed, however, the usual far-left loons are disappointed. Wounded is not enough. They want death to the conservative infidels. Going forward, Fox News faces a similar lawsuit from the Smartmatic Company and perhaps thousands of other lawsuits from Fox shareholders, so this is a certified disaster. And this is what happens when months. becomes more important than honest information. Since I left FNC, the template has changed from fair and balanced to tell the audience what it wants to hear. And millions of Trump voters
Starting point is 00:04:40 to this day want to believe the 2020 election was rigged. That opinion can certainly be presented if you provide a counter opinion, equal time. However, once the facts begin to overwhelm any point of view. A news agency has an obligation to say that. On Bill O'Reilly.com, I examined all the fraud charges and concluded that no federal court would accept the cheating allegations, therefore the election was not going to be refuted. When I said that, I lost a thousand premium members. So be it. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Okay, let's go to the mail. Tony LaFrazia, Winthrop, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. Bill, I can understand
Starting point is 00:05:37 why Fox is being sued, but isn't this type of reporting routine procedure for other media organization? Shouldn't we be seeing these types of suits on a daily basis? Not at this level, because you have to show damage, and then you have to show malice in, um, in, um, in, in assessing the damage. It's very complicated to do it, Tony. Very complicated. This is a very rare case. Michael, concierge member, Michael gets direct access to me. I don't believe Dominion as a company is worth anywhere close to their demand. I'd also like to see how they will prove damage as well. We're not going to see any of that. Because Fox decided that they didn't want to do it. Simple as that. Alana, I don't think anyone will ever convince me that the election
Starting point is 00:06:22 wasn't stolen. Just like Carrie Lake in Arizona. How do you explain that one? I don't have to explain it. If Carrie Lake in Arizona running for governor was a victim of fraud, let's see it. You see, this is what I mean. And I'm not diminishing your opinion, Alana. If you want to think the election 2020 was rigged, you're entitled to that. But you can't state it as a fact. Gus Pullen, Houston, Texas. I've watched you since I've done a edition bill. And you have the best news program anywhere. I'd like to hear more about Ukraine. I can't see anything but Russia winning. Russia isn't winning. Russia is getting its butt kicked economically. In fact, there was an article in Wall Street Journal that said Russian millionaires have declined half.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Believe me, the oligarchs over there are furious. You've got to be patient here, but Putin is not winning, and he deserves to lose. In a moment, something you might not know. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers,
Starting point is 00:07:46 and even the president of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the first. future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. In 1975, communist soldiers seized the capital of Cambodia. They quickly established a Marxist government under the rule of one man, Five years later, nearly half of Cambodia's entire population was dead. Here is the story of Paul Pot.
Starting point is 00:08:33 The dictator was born in 1925 in Aurora Village, 100 miles north of the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. He moved to Paris, France in 1949, where he became obsessed with the writings of Karl Marx. When he returned to Cambodia in 1953, the country was revolting against French colonial rule. Popat joined a group of rebels called the Khmer Rouge. After a brutal civil war, the communist seized control of the capital on April 17, 1975. 500,000 Cambodians died during the Civil War, but the worst was still to come. After taking power, Pol Pot forced millions of people into so-called re-education camps. Those who refused were tortured, then killed.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Under Pol Pot, the state controlled every aspect of life. Money, private property, books, and religion were banned. Children were taken from their parents and forced into the military at the age of 12. Pol Potat ruled Cambodia for the next five years. Scirmishes with the Vietnamese army forced the dictator back into the jungle. It was captured in 1997, placed under house arrest, where he died peacefully in his sleep at age 72. And here's something else you might not know.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Polpott's genocide was one of the most catastrophic events in human history. Out of a total population of 7 million Cambodians, nearly 4 million, were killed during the war from famine and then mass murder. That is the heinous Pol Pot's legacy. Back after this.
