Starting point is 00:00:24 Then Bill is going to be here with your message of the day. But first, a Virginia judge blocked the state from certifying the results of Tuesday's congressional redistricting in Virginia. There are three claims from the judge. First, in a special session, there are only specific things that the legislature can deal with. Redistricting, the congressional lines is not one of them. Second, when a constitutional ballot goes to the people after it passes the general
Starting point is 00:00:49 assembly, it needs at least 90 days. This was only given less than a month. But most important of all, the Constitution clearly states that a constitutional amendment has to be passed by two different general assemblies with a general assembly. with a general election in between the two of them before it can then be given to the voters to decide. Spamberger and the Democrats did not do that for this special election. So the judge said that the Virginia Department of Elections
Starting point is 00:01:13 is not allowed to certify the election results and that no other actions can be taken to enact the proposal and redraw Virginia's congressional maps. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that a federal grand jury returned an indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center. The indictment claims that this group of, was paying neo-Nazi groups to do neo-Nazi things and then fundraising off of the rise of neo-Nazis in
Starting point is 00:01:39 America and then claim that you're a one too. Todd Blanche said the Southern Poverty Law Center was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to expose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred. The Trump administration is apparently in talks of a financing package for Spirit Airlines. the airline could receive around $100 million from the government financing that could give the government an equity stake. The White House said that Spirit Airlines would be on a much firmer financial footing had the Biden administration not recklessly blocked the airline's merger with JetBlue.
Starting point is 00:02:17 The president said in a CNBC interview on Tuesday, Spirit's in trouble, and I'd love somebody to buy Spirit, it's 14,000 jobs, and maybe the federal government should help that one out. Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day. On this Thursday, perhaps the biggest Trump hater on Capitol Hill is Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut. Monday of this week, someone writing on X put out the 26th. Iranian vessels had evaded the U.S. Navy, which is located now in the Straits of Hormuz. That report is not true. However, Murphy responded on X with the word awesome.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Hard to believe that a sitting senator is rooting for Iran, a terrorist state. Murphy now says he was being sarcastic. About what? What is the point of the alleged sarcasm? There doesn't seem to be one. My take is Murphy wants the USA to fail in a conflict against Iran because he despises President Trump more than the Mullins. And I'm not being sarcastic here.
Starting point is 00:05:22 I believe that is Murphy's mindset, and he is not alone. Of course, that point of view is loathsome. When U.S. military people are fighting for their country in the field, on the seas, and you're going awesome for an alleged victory by Iran? Senator Chris Murphy should be ashamed. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. We got Josh B in Charlotte, North Carolina. When the around thing started, I expected to be done with information. four or five weeks because we would play a hardball. Prices are chilled up. And if it is about America first, first, sorry about the throat, we can't worry about
Starting point is 00:06:33 Iranian casualties. We should just demolish them and force to surrender. Can't kill civilians like that. Can't. Trump's not going to do it. American people wouldn't back it. World wouldn't back it. make us look terrible.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Evan Ortega. And Evan says, I don't mind spending more on gas and it means Iran can't get a nuke. But I do mind spending more in gas. We get a deal similar to the one President Obama engineer. I'm not a Trump hater,
Starting point is 00:07:10 but I have a lot of concerns about how this is played out. I think everybody is concerned. Why wouldn't you be concerned? This is a very important story to the world. Daniel Gallagher in Manhattan Beach, California, with the increased gas prices, do we think oil companies are going to make increased profits? Yes, we do, Daniel.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Okay? Then he goes on and asks, how do we determine it? You'll see they have to issue quarterly reports. the oil companies who see compared to last year how much profit they make it. They got you in the hell out of us. I mean, that's not unusual for them.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know. 410 years ago today, one of the greatest writers of all time died in England. During his life, the author published 38 plays, 200 sonnets, 400 poems. Many are still performed to this day. Here's the story of William Shakespeare. Born 1564 in the town of Stratford, Young Will received a modest education in Latin and
Starting point is 00:09:43 grammar. As a commoner, however, Shakespeare was unable to attend any English college. Little is known about the life of William until 1592 when his plays began appearing on the London stage. He became a moderate success among the English elite and the urban poor. The playwright and a group of actors soon opened the Globe Theatre in London. During his relatively brief career, the Bard, as they called him, created the most popular play in the English language. Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Othello. He retired from the stage in 1613, the same year as Globe Theatre burned to the ground.
Starting point is 00:10:34 The writer and his family then returned to Stratford. There, the bar died suddenly on April 23rd, 1616 at the age of 52. According to medical records, William was, quote, in perfect health at the time of his death. Shakespeare was buried two days later. The words on his headstone include a curse against anyone who tries to move his bones. The church underwent major renovations in 2008, but Shakespeare's body was not touched. And here's something else you might not know. William Shakespeare not only crafted his plays using the English language, he also invented words, at least 2,000 of them, including bedroom, gossip, lonely, puppy, and the expression to break the ice
