Starting point is 00:04:01 Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Thursday, chalk up another media victory for President Trump as the boss of 60 Minutes, Bill Owens, is quitting. His statement says that CBS Paramount is making it impossible for the iconic program to maintain its independence. Now, there's much to this story that should be examined. Paramount is trying to sell the CBS operation to a company named Skydance, which is run by the son of billionaire Larry Ellison.
Starting point is 00:04:36 In order for that deal to happen, the federal government must sign off on it. That goes to the public airways thing. Enter President Trump, who is suing CBS, alleging the network helped Kamala Harris in violation of election laws. Mr. Trump, below 60 minutes, ever since correspondent Leslie Stahl refused to acknowledge that the Clinton campaign helped the Russian election interference corruption. Ms. Stahl would not admit that the Clinton campaign was involved, which it certainly was. So, the owners of Paramount CBS are scrutinizing all of the anti-Trump stuff on 60 minutes, and there's a lot of it.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Mr. Owens says, because of that, he cannot continue to work at the iconic program. Starting point is 00:06:42 Bill, are you saying you believe Trump will reach a deal with China? However, you also stated that Trump would reach a deal with China. with Putin. In fact, you said the deal was already before Trump even got into office. Why is you reporting on China more accurate than you're reporting on Putin? So Tanya's a little disenchanted with my report it. Okay, which fine. We like that. Okay, Tanya, here's the deal. The framework for a deal between Trump and Putin was discussed before the president was elected. Okay? and Putin says certain things, doesn't mean he's going to obey him, but that deal was formulated. I believe it will happen.
Starting point is 00:07:24 It's just if Putin's giving everybody a hard time. As far as China is concerned, I'm saying by my reporting. I think there will be a deal. Now, it takes time, Tanya.
