Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, April 29th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America.
Spanish blackout, English only, F-18 overboard, and the Take a Down Act. It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, major blackouts across Spain, millions in the dark.
It's just a couple days after Spain bragged that, for a...
an entire day, the entire electric grid was connected to only renewable energy, wind, solar,
and hydro.
That was on April 16th, they were bragging about that.
And now all the power's out.
All of Valencia, Barcelona, Spain's entire rail network shut down.
Internet service stopped.
Chaos in the streets.
Madrid's mayor told people to stay where you are as they try to figure out what to do with
this disaster.
Local officials calling on the Prime Minister of Spain to activate an emergency plan so
soldiers can be deployed. There's videos of people walking through the subway tunnels in the dark
to get free. Most phones have no signals. So it's hard to get information to anyone. So anyone can know
what's going on. Truckers are celebrating across the country as Trump signed an executive order
that bans truckers from driving if they can't understand English signs and instructions.
The order tells the Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to ensure drivers violating English
proficiency rules are placed out of service, enhancing roadway safety. And you're thinking,
how can this not already be a law? It is a law. But in 2016, Barack Obama told highway inspectors
to stop pulling licenses from drivers who can't speak and understand English. And then Biden
allowed migrants to get commercial driver's licenses. A prominent trucking insurance executive
estimates that 40% of the truck drivers in the U.S. are first-generation immigrants. And 10% of the
total truck driver population doesn't speak English proficiently. An F-18 Super Hornet that was
assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman was lost at sea during a towing incident in
the hangar bay on Monday. The aircraft carrier was conducting an evasive maneuver during an incident
from Huthy Fire. The Super Hornet was being loaded onto the aircraft elevator on the Truman when
the strike fighter slid over the edge. Only one sailor was injured. A bipartisan bill written by
Ted Cruz and Amy Klobuchar, also championed by the First Lady, Melania. The Take a Down Act
criminalizes the publication of NCI. This is non-consensual intimate imagery, including
AI-generated imagery, and require social media and other platforms, other websites, to remove
flagged content within 48 hours of notice from a victim. Some people are against this bill.
They're concerned about a slippery slope, and they're saying that there are no penalties for false
reports or bad actors, just flagging everything they see on the internet. I'm Mike Slater from
The podcast Politics by Faith, the great Bill O'Reilly.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update,
message of the day.
On this Tuesday, to say the corporate media
is delighted by President Trump's falling poll numbers
is the understatement of the year so far.
The press wants Trump to fail
so the media industry can be redeemed.
Simple as that.
The polls are obviously
driven by emotion. If the stock market comes roaring back, the president's job approval numbers
will rise. If investments tank, look out below. Most politicians are frightened and self-centered.
Bold moves are rare. That's why Trump is so polarizing. He's the opposite of cautious and patient.
That kind of governance always creates uncertainty. Here's a partial list of other presidents who took
on the establishment.
Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln,
Theodore Roosevelt,
Franklin Roosevelt, and Harry Truman.
That's it.
And Donald Trump is bolder
than them all.
But is that a good thing?
Yes, on the border in government waste,
incomplete on remaking the economy.
No, on Supreme Court compliance.
By September,
the tariff thing will be decided.
I think it will work to the benefit of working Americans, but I'm not betting on it.
In the meantime, the media will continue to bash Donald Trump, no matter what happens,
it should not be this way.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

Now let's go to the mail.
Thomas Campbell, Omaha, Nebraska.
Hey, Bell, AOC and Bernie Sanders
has been going around a country
accusing President Trump of insider trading
saying you purposely put in tariffs
to affect the stock market,
create a dip for his billionaire friends.
Shouldn't he sue them?
He can't sue them, but that's a bunch of bull.
Okay, that's what these people peddle.
Judith, on the message boards,
I saw on ABC World News,
telling people that store shelves
to be empty soon in Walmart.
Martin Target because of the tariffs.
Okay.
And if they're not empty, is ABC News going to apologize?
Glenn Rhodes, Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.
Can Congress pass a law saying that all illegal aliens can be deported without any asylum
hearing?
Sure.
Absolutely.
They could change the asylum laws, but they won't.
You haven't for years.
Carol Ann on domestic board, I recently retired from the
military, Secretary of Defense Austin did absolutely nothing for us. He pushed the woke agenda
like everyone else in a previous administration. It was brutal. I'm staying positive about
Secretary Hegsett. Jan, a concierge. Remember, Jan, has direct access to me. I agree with you
on Pete Hegseth. He's loyal, but he's doing Trump's bidding. However, he's unqualified.
And we'll see how it works out for, I hate to say we'll see, but obviously, Hague Seth is, you know, a little shaky.
Sammy Rubin, Pinson, Alabama.
Just a moment of your time, O'Reilly, as retains the fentany, as retains the fentanyl, why doesn't the problem originate with the people go out on the streets and buy it?
It does originate with them, but we don't hold them accountable because that's the society we live in.
If we did, there wouldn't be any market for it, and people would live.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might, not know.
The first 100 days of Donald Trump's second term are over.
While the corporate press gleefully is reporting the president's falling poll numbers,
here's my no-spin assessment of where we stand right now.
First, the facts.
about the U.S.-Mexican border.
That was completely chaotic under President Biden, as everybody knows.
In fact, border crossings in April, 2004, last year, 400,000.
April this year, 7,000, a decrease of 95% under President Trump.
How about deportations of migrants here illegally?
In Biden's first 100 days, 9,000 were deported.
In Trump's first 100 days, 55,000.
How about diversity, equity, and inclusion?
Well, on his first day in office, Donald Trump issued an executive order banning DEI from government agencies.
The president said, quote, these illegal DEI policies threaten the safety of American men, women, and children, by diminishing the importance of individual merit.
The federal government is charged with enforcing our civil rights laws.
The purpose of this order is to ensure that it does so by ending illegal preferences and discrimination.
Now, that is a widely debated topic, but here is the key to it.
The Supreme Court ruled that affirmative action that is hiring and accepting Americans into universities on the basis of skin, color, and gender,
is illegal, is unconstitutional. Well, the left immediately then pivoted and said, okay, we will
call it affirmative action. We'll call it DEI. So you can see the deceit here. Well, the stock market
is a problem for Donald Trump. It's down about 8% since he took office. And a lot of people are
very angry about that. I understand. But government waste has been exposed. And we have a
37 trillion dollar debt. So we've got to start some kind of accountability in our tariff,
our trades, and how we spend our money. However, Donald Trump's got to explain it and the economy
has to turn around or he will be in big trouble. Back after this. This episode is brought to you
