Bill O'Reilly here. Thursday, April 9th, 2020. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Here's what's happening across our nation. U.S. Airlines reduced flights up to 90% this summer. Marijuana use reaches an all-time high in March. Europe eases some virus restrictions. Bernie Sanders ends his 2020 campaign. Clinton impeachment figure Linder Tripp dead at 70. Also, I had your job, your job, in fighting the contagion. But first, U.S.-based airlines cutting way back on their summer schedule, executives say the virus coupled with an overall fear of traveling during the pandemic has spiked demand.

On average, less than 100,000 U.S. adults are flying each day, down 95,000. percent from the same period last year. America's consumption of cannabis, reaching record numbers, weekly sales of pot rising 64 percent since mid-March. That stat doubles in states like California and Colorado, where it's legal. The biggest increase coming from adults 18 to 36. A third of millennials are either out of work or on temporary leave since the outbreak began. Some European countries easing restrictions. Italy, telling factory workers, farmers, and truckers to prepare for work in the coming weeks. Austria, allowing small shops to reopen. Denmark, saying schools can resume shortly. Biggest virus hotspots now, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Bernie Sanders ending his presidential

campaign, clearing the path for Joe Biden to become the Democratic nominee. The senator releasing a video, announcing his decision admitting he has absolutely zero chance of winning. Sanders calling Mr. Biden a, quote, very decent man, unquote, but offering no official endorsement. Linda Tripp, key figure during Bill Clinton's impeachment, dead at the age of 70 from pancreatic cancer. The former Pentagon employee became a household name after taping conversations between herself and and Monica Lewinsky about Ms. Lewinsky's presidential affair. Ms. Tripp routinely defended her actions, saying they were, quote, her patriotic duty. In a moment, we should all be fighting against the pandemic.

We all have a role in this, and it's all about attitude. First off, panic and being depressed does not combat the virus.

Yes, we are all negatively affected, especially those who are ill. and senior citizens in general. They are most at risk for destruction and isolation. If you know some seniors, please help them any way you can. If it's even a phone call, that is fighting the pandemic. Second, do not buy into the media, quote, wall of doom. This is not the black plague. This is very very. bad, but it will subside. In the meantime, some of us are doing self-destructive things, the sale of booze and pot at record levels. Does inebriation really help fight the pandemic? Awful websites are being visited as diversions. Discord is occurring as folks are pent up

together. We should be fighting against all of these things. Do not let yourself be led into destructive behavior. Stay strong. Don't eat junk food. Don't get sloppy in your appearance and thinking. Stay sober. That's all part of the fight. Read, exercise, talk to the kids. Again, talk to the seniors. talk to your friends. Remember calling people on the phone? You can still do that. Also, you might want to cut back on the internet sites, as mentioned, with the exception of Bill O'Reilly.com, where you can get reliable pandemic information and disciplined analysis. The net, unfortunately, features a lot of hatred in the extreme. And the virus is used to foster disenchantment. That is harmful to you emotionally and psychologically. And let's watch all the comfort eating. I have done it. I admit it.

I have done it. It feels good. But you got to keep a lid on it. Nestle boss. Mark Schneider says the $310 billion candy maker is struggling to keep snacks on the grocery store shelves. Uber Eats reports a massive amount of junk food being delivered to homes. Again, this hurts you. A little bit all right. But if you're eating it every day, you're going to get fat. You're going to get sloppy. Now, some sociologists believe most people will come.
