Starting point is 00:00:28 turning black fed rates 9-11 plea deal and World War II veteran that's all coming up then bill's going to be here with your message to the day but first Trump speaking at the National Association of black journalists opening question from an ABC reporter just nasty tone which Trump immediately called out but then ultimately about six minutes in to the back and forth he said of Kamala Harris I didn't know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black and now she wants to be known as black so I don't know she Indian is she black. I will tell you that her mom and dad divorce, her mom's Indian and her dad is from Jamaica of Irish descent. Her ancestors were slave owners. They divorced when she was eight and she moved with her mom, her Indian mom, and grew up in Montreal. So her connection with the black experience in America is questionable at least. The Federal Reserve has decided to keep
Starting point is 00:01:21 interest rates right where they are, keeping the cost of borrowing at the highest level in more than two decades. The chair of the Fed says the central bank may reduce interest rates in September. But that'll be interesting. That could maybe be seen as some sort of election interference. There are five terrorists behind the 9-11 attack that are now in Guantanamo Bay, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. And they have reached a plea deal. Three of them have reached a plea deal with prosecutors. KSM was captured in Pakistan in 2003, sentenced in 2008. And they were seeking, the federal American government was seeking the death penalty. But now, because of the plea, they will get a life sentence instead at Guantanamo Bay. There would have had to be a separate
Starting point is 00:02:04 death penalty trial, which may have been complicated because of questions about what evidence could be presented if these men were tortured in secret CIA prisons. So did that contaminate the evidence? It would have been a 12 to 18 month trial. And prosecutors, the federal government says, now this is better because it's over. The Department of Defense says, that the White House had no role in this process. World War II veteran Woody Williams grew up on a dairy farm in West Virginia, served in the Pacific. He fought with a flamethrower. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for what he did at Iwojima. Woody Williams was the last surviving medal of honor recipient from World War II. Passed away at the age of 98. With the Olympic medal count,
Starting point is 00:02:48 we are tied for fifth in gold medals, with six, China has 11, but we still have the most medals overall, 31, France, and second with 26. Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Thursday, Anita Dunn has left the White House. Chances are you don't know who she is, but President Biden has trusted her advice. and judgment for years. Upon announcing her departure, she thanked Joe Biden for all he's done to the American people. I expected that, but it got my analytic mind revved up. So what has the
Starting point is 00:04:30 Biden administration featuring Vice President Kamala done for me exactly? First of all, I'm not doing an ego exercise here. I'm a hardworking, honest American, who gives a lot to charity, helps my kids, tries to be a good neighbor. That's my profile. I think I share that with much of my audience, perhaps even with Anita Dunn. Let's see, my food and gas bills are up significantly on Joe Biden's watch. Car and house insurance premiums are now officially insane. Social order in New York City, just 10 miles away from me, has collapsed. My taxes are painful, and they never end. Despite that, Joe Biden is adding $1 trillion to the national debt every six months. Despite the massive government spending, a new report says the U.S. military is not strong enough to sustain a war with China.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Drug addiction is surging on Long Island, as Biden's open border policy assures plenty of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin to kill people. Dope dealers are considered low-level criminals. I could go on and on, but I'm not. I don't know what Joe Biden has done for me. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. So Edward says, excellent message, Bill. I was a platoon leader in the early 1980s. I guess you were over in the Middle East. And I loved and respected all my soldiers, regardless of race, gender, or any other physical characteristic. We depended on each other in some very tight situations,
Starting point is 00:06:19 and none of us cared one wit about race. This is what it means to be Americans. And I hope that holds in the military. I think it does today. I don't hear a lot of race stuff coming out of the military. Thank God, right? Anne, concierge member, thank you, Anne. Love your take on White Dudes for Kamala
Starting point is 00:06:40 by renaming it white duds for Kamala I got a big laugh out of that okay once in a while I can provide that levity we have Vicki Menteer Rancho Santa Fe, California, very nice town low information voters do not seek out
Starting point is 00:07:03 alternative views and my greatest fears that our voices are so outnumber that Kamala Harris may win Do you share that concern? Sure. I don't want Kamala Harris to be president. I've been flat out upfront about that. She have a chance? Yeah. Okay, so that's where we are. The debate, remember the debate. That'll tell the tell. Tony D., College Point, New York, just finished killing Lincoln. Quick question, could the Civil War have been avoided? And will that question be addressed in your upcoming book confronting the Presidency? It will be, Tony. Civil War up to Lincoln had three
Starting point is 00:07:39 three-week presidents before Lincoln in a row. If those presidents had figured out the South was building in military strength and taken action early on, civil war would not have happened. We have it in confronting the presidents out September 10th. In a moment, something you might not know. Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my show every day to get your daily ghost inside the world of politics. It is one of the great mysteries of the universe that corporate media companies and Hollywood celebrities are so rabid in their support of far-left Democrats. For the last two weeks, the rich and famous have coalesced around Kamala Harris. Here are some examples. Michelle and Barack Obama have endorsed her,
Starting point is 00:09:01 said Ms. Obama, quote, I'm proud of my girl, Kamala. We've got your back, unquote. the insipid George Clooney, quote, President Biden has shown what true leadership is. He's saving our democracy once again. We're also excited to do whatever we can do to support Kamala Harris in her historic quest. Beyonce, thank you, President Biden for your service and leadership. Kamala Harris, for president, let's go.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Barbara Streisand, Kamala Harris will continue Joe Biden's work and will be a great president. Spike Lee. Once again, a sister comes to the rescue. John Legend, she's ready for the fight, and I'm excited to help her any way I can. Other celebrities openly jumping on the Kamala bandwagon, including Mark Hamill, Rob Reiner, Stephen King, Jamie Lee Curtis, Rosie O'Donnell. And here's something else you might not know. It is somewhat ironic that Democrats who often accused Donald Trump of destroying democracy have anointed a candidate who did not receive a single vote in this year's primaries. Also, in 2020, Kamala Harris did not win a primary or gain any presidential delegates whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:10:35 she finished dead last behind Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bloomberg, and Pete Buttigieg. But now, Vice President Harris will be the Democratic nominee to take on Donald Trump. Hollywood, the corporate press, and the nation's biggest donors will do everything they can to put Ms. Harris in the White House. back after this. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week I'll sit down for candid conversations
Starting point is 00:11:24 with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers, and even the president of the United States.
