Starting point is 00:00:28 big presser, walls lie, Chandler, arrests, and bear attack that's all coming up, then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day, but first. 26 days, no press conference from Kamala. Trump had a one hour, 25-minute press conference where he talked about, well, everything, but started off talking about the price of groceries. He said, you don't have to imagine what a Kamala Harris presidency would be because you are living through that nightmare right now. This is the first event that Kamala ever had yesterday next to Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:00:56 She said, I could speak all afternoon about the person I'm standing. standing on this stage with our extraordinary President Joe Biden. She made her first policy proposal. Well, the first she hasn't stolen. No tax on tips was her first one, but she stole from Trump. But her second policy proposal is a price cap on food, which could not be a worse idea. Milton Freeman said, if you have inflation, you should avoid price caps like the plague. Even CNN is reporting this, that Tim Walls had a DUI arrest in 1995.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Okay, that was a long time ago. But when he ran for Congress in 2006, his campaign made false statements about the rest. Walls admitted in court that he had been drinking when he was pulled over for driving 96 in a 55 mile per hour zone in Nebraska, blood alcohol level of 1.28. The legal limit was 0.1 at the time. But his 2006 campaign told the press he was not drinking that night. His campaign said he just drove home right afterwards. And also it was a big misunderstanding.
Starting point is 00:01:50 He wasn't drinking, didn't fail a field sobriety test. And the misunderstanding was related to a hearing loss he had from his time. in the National Guard. Turns out none of that was true. Matthew Perry, Chandler, from Friends, passed away last October at the age of 54. Five people were just charged in connection with his death. Prosecutors in L.A.
Starting point is 00:02:09 say they uncovered an underground network of drug sellers and suppliers that they allege are responsible for distributing ketamine. The defendants include two doctors and Perry's live-in personal assistance and someone else who's known as the ketamine queen. Over a two-month period in the fall, of 2023. They gave him 20 vials of ketamine for $55,000 cash. A 24-year-old mom was in the wrong place at the wrong time, jogging on a paved trail in Ontario with her German Shepherd. Thank
Starting point is 00:02:38 goodness. She turned the corner and came face to face with three bears. The dog defended against two of the bears, but the dad bear attacked her. She said it took her head in his mouth. She said, you feel like a rag doll. It's nothing you can do. The dog ultimately scared all the bears away, and she survived. I'm Mike Slater, Bill O'Reilly with your message to the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. On this Friday, I think it's safe to say that the Democrats are out-flanking the Republicans so far. in the presidential race.
Starting point is 00:04:20 So what do I mean by that? Well, the strategy from the Dems is to keep their candidate, Kamala Harris, away from the press or any forum that might be allowed to ask her questions about what she believes, what her policies would be. And the Democrats have been very successful in doing that. Why?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Because the American press is largely corrupt, and they know what Kamala is doing, but they don't seem to care, even though she's insulting the media. Now, on the Trump front, he should win the election on issues. But every time that I see him in a public forum that reaches millions of people, the former president
Starting point is 00:05:13 gets bogged down talking about things that don't matter. like skin color, crowd size at rallies, you know, the litany. That's all foolish. It doesn't do Canada Trump any good at all. He's got the higher ground on inflation, border, foreign policy, social disorder, on and on and on. He's got a record. Kamala Harris has no record. So why are we talking about crowd size?
Starting point is 00:05:52 I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town, if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. We go to Fred Weiss, Ecuador.
Starting point is 00:06:10 I've never been to Ecuador. I want to go to the Galapagos. And you've got to go out of Guayaquil to go there. So I probably will get to Ecuador, but I've never, a few countries I haven't been to. Anyway, Fred says, with the obvious one side of reporting from the mainstream American media, Happy Warrior was a good demonstration. We ran a montage of everybody saying, happy warrior, the words. Why can't Trump ask free airtime from the mainstream media?
Starting point is 00:06:39 On the basis of what? On the base of what? The media companies book who they want to be guests. They say the same thing because they're in. in the tank and they allow it. I don't allow it. I didn't allow it when I was on Fox. You couldn't get away with that on the factor.
Starting point is 00:06:55 But Trump has no claim for anything. Those are the media companies doing it. Loretta Grady, St. Louis. I watched your recent Smart Life segment regarding small claims court. I filed one and won my case. But unfortunately, I've been unable to collect my judgment. The court has no power to collect.
Starting point is 00:07:15 And we said that yesterday, Loretta. So, what you can do once you win the small claims judgment is go after whoever wronged you in a full-fledged civil suit. Now you say, well, it costs too much. With that document you have, you can sue for much larger amount of money, emotional distress, all kinds like that. And you might be able to convince an attorney to take it on contingency. where you pay expenses, but he gets a piece or she of whatever the judgment is.
Starting point is 00:07:52 With that small claims court ruling, you're likely to win. That is the advantage. In a moment, something you might not know. Starting point is 00:08:38 Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 37 years ago today, one of the worst aviation disasters in American history occurred in Michigan. Miraculously, one person survived the crash, a four-year-old girl. Here is the story. On August 16, 1987, Northwest Airlines Flight 255 was scheduled to depart Detroit at 8.46 p.m. Destination, Phoenix, Arizona. Seconds after takeoff, the twin-engine jet began to sway from side to side. plane's left wing struck a light pole in the airport parking lot. The impact caused the side of the aircraft to disintegrate. The jet rolled 90 degrees crashed upside down onto a local street in Middle Belt Road.
Starting point is 00:09:31 The impact killed 149 passengers instantly, six crew members, two people on the ground. An investigation from the National Transportation Safety Board, Court concluded, the accident was caused by pilot error, wrote the NTSB, quote, The probable cause of the accident was the flight crew's failure to use a taxi checklist to ensure that the flaps and slats were extended for takeoff. The airplane did take off, but the warning system did not warn the crew that the airplane was not configured properly for takeoff, unquote. Well, after the crash, the company retired, the flight number 255. Northwest then merged with Delta in 2010. To this day, Delta will not
Starting point is 00:10:19 fly any planes with the number 255. And here's something else you might not know. The sole survivor, the four-year-old girl of the crash, is Cecilia Shishon. She was flying with her mother, father and brother all killed. A first responder found the little girl strapped into her belt in the seat of the plane. She sustained third degree burns, a broken skull, collarbone, and left leg. Cecilia is now 40 years old. She was raised by her aunt. Currently, she lives in Alabama. She has a tattoo of a jet plane on her wrist dedicated to the family member she lost on that terrible day. Back after this.
