Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.
Here's what's happening today in America in the coming weeks.
Clearance is yanked, can't speak English, and COVID vaccine for infants.
It's all coming up.
And Bill's going to be here with the oral message of the day.
But first, the White House has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to meet with Zelenskyy in the coming
weeks. Location still to be determined. Trump told Mark Levin on his radio show that he thinks
just a meeting between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine is the best for the next step in the peace
negotiations. So Trump not being there. He said after that meeting, he'd be happy to join the two of
them to get the deal officially closed. The director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard
announced security clearances have been pulled from 37 current and former officials who, quote,
abused public trust by politicizing and manipulating information.
This includes several officials who are involved in the Russian interference lie from the Obama administration.
Their access to classified systems, facilities, materials, and information is to be terminated forthwith.
Any contracts or employment with the U.S. government by these 37 individuals is hereby terminated.
Any credentials held by these individuals must be surrendered to the appropriate security office.
officers. That illegal immigrant from India who came across the U.S. border back in 2018 and then
got his commercial driver's license in California and just recently tried to do a U-turn on
the highway, which resulted in three Americans being killed, it has been announced by the
government that Harjinder Singh failed his English language proficiency assessment, only given
correct responses to two of the 12 verbal questions. And he only accurate.
identified one of four highway traffic signs. Jean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary,
said if states had followed the rules, this driver would never have been behind the wheel.
And these three precious lives would still be with us. The crash was a preventable tragedy,
directly caused by reckless decisions and compounded by despicable failures.
Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless
frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers and properly acquiring licenses to operate
40-ton vehicles.
The American Academy of Pediatrics said that children ages six months to 23 months should
receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
The recommendations are part of their annual childhood immunization schedule.
This is different than the recommendation from the new RFK Jr.
Federal Government, which announced in May that the CDC will no longer recommend the COVID
vaccine for healthy children.
I'm Mike Slater. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith.
The Great Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.
Next.
Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Wednesday, MSNBC has been cut adrift by its parent company and is now on a
slow dance to destruction.
Without the resources of NBC News, the left-way network will have to compete on its own.
And if you remember the debacle of the Air America Radio Network, things could go south fast.
MS has an aging audience of urban leftists who never really left a hippie bubble of the 1960s.
A few minorities tune in from time to time to get a daily dose of grievance, but that's about it.
It's tough to sit through your country is awful every single day.
and at MS, relief is never on the way.
Morning Joe used to be a ratings positive for the network, but that ended when Joe and Mika showed up at Moralago for an audience with you-know-who.
That was a bridge too far for the progressive zealance.
Unforgivable, the audience numbers collapsed.
The queen of the progressive movement is Rachel Maddow, but she only works one day a week.
not nearly enough to energize the base.
The radicals need constant derision aimed at their country as well as MAGA folks.
No days off, Rachel.
Leftist propaganda is like crack.
You keep on loading up the pipe.
As an ad campaign for Ronald Reagan once said,
it is mourning in America.
But at the new MS, I don't think they're going to be around to see dawn
much longer. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at
Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town, if you wish to opine.
Let's go to the mail. Paul Berg-Bergio. Mantica, California. Bill, I understand President
Trump's deal-making approach. Nevertheless, I believe it was very inappropriate to roll out a red
carpet for a man such as Vladimir Putin. Okay. Certainly a valid point of view.
Doug Matthews, Port St. Lucie, Florida, I think Putin's comment on the next meeting in Moscow
caught Donald Trump off guard. Putin is the most evil, cold-blooded killer on the planet.
I'm looking forward to reading your next book, Confronting Evil, and especially a chapter on him.
There is no way Trump should go to Moscow. I disagree.
Trump's got to do everything in Canada try to get this thing under control.
If he goes to Moscow, so what?
Ken Barr, Coventry, Rhode Island. I really thought getting Putin to the table would provide
and out for him to stop the war.
You mentioned this is only for vanity,
but he wanted a good chunk of land.
Or am I misreading?
No. Putin wants to take over Ukraine and Moldova
and every other former Soviet country.
What do you want?
And as Levin was saying earlier in the broadcast,
he'd probably make a deal,
and then as soon as Trump's gone, he'll violate it.
Who he is?
And a coffee, Duluth, Georgia.
What happens to the Ukrainians who live in those
areas that might be seated to Russia. They'd have the opportunity to leave if they wanted,
but most of them are so poor they can't. And it'll probably be a vote should we be with Russia
and a vote would be not honest, of course. Concierge member John, John gets direct access to me.
We continue to urge you to check out concierge membership on bell o'Reilly.com. It will enhance
your life. Like Stalin before, Putin is getting more vicious and evil and willing to sacrifice
more people's lives. As they get close to you.
ending their reign of power, they become more evil.
True.
Absolutely true.

159 years ago today, President Andrew Johnson, who took over for the assassinated President Abraham
Lincoln, declared the end of the American Civil War. That proclamation ended the most violent event.
in U.S. history. Here is the story.
Tension between the states escalated under President James Buchanan.
Old Buck, as he was known, did absolutely nothing as the nation disintegrated over slavery.
The war began in April 1861 when Southern troops opened fire on Fort Sumter in Charleston, South
Carolina on Union forces.
700,000 at least were killed. Another 50,000 civilians perished.
Slowly, the Union Army defeated the rebels.
On August 20th, 1866, President Johnson declared the end of hostilities.
He wrote, quote, the insurrection is over.
Peace, order, and tranquility now exist in and throughout the whole of the United States of America.
But that was not true.
The Civil War decimated half the country.
Four million slaves were left without food or shelter.
They had nowhere to go.
Eleven major cities were reduced to rubble, including Atlanta, Richmond, and Charleston.
The average income for farmers in Georgia dropped to just $80 a year.
To protect the rights of former slaves, Congress then ratified the 13th, 14th, and 15 amendments.
Millions of white Americans refused to live peaceably with freed blacks.
Quickly, a group of racist veterans, the Ku Klux Klan, spread throughout the entire South.
Members terrorize often kill anyone promoting equal rights.
In 1871, President U.S. Grant dispatched the army to destroy the KKK, which it largely did.
A decade later, the Supreme Court unanimously decided it was unconstitutional.
for the federal government to use the military to enforce local election laws.
Well, that disastrous ruling led directly to Jim Crow where millions of blacks were denied basic rights.
Racism and bigotry ruled a South for another century.
We chronicle the rise of the KKK in my upcoming book, Confronting Evil, Out September 9th.
Back after this.
Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update. I am Bill O'Reilly, no spin, just facts, and always looking out for you.
