Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Thursday, August 21st, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America.
The Union Station statement, redistricting war expands, blocking the Ten Commandments, and more mortgage fraud.
That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day of the first.
The Vice President Pete Higgseth and Stephen Miller. We're at Washington, D.C.,'s Union Station.
beautiful train station and there were some people there booing at them some yelled free dc and vans said
we will free dc from lawlessness from one of the highest murder rates in the entire world we're going to
free dc so that young families can walk around and feel safe in the nation's capital stephen miller said
the crazy communists out there have no connection with this community that is dc and they advocate
for the one percent the criminals the killers the rapist and drug dealers and stephen miller went on and said
that most of the people that live in D.C. are black. And this is a city that has not had any safety
for its black citizens for generations. And President Trump is the one fixing that. He ended saying
we are going to ignore those stupid white hippies. Congressman Marlon Stalsman from Indiana
said the Democrats have proven that they will use every tool available to them to gain and keep power.
For years, Republicans have idly stood by while the left has weaponized government against us.
it's time for us to drop the gloves.
He's advocating for Indiana to redraw their congressional maps.
Indiana has nine congressional seats.
Two are held by Democrats.
One's a barely plus one Democrat district.
The other Indianapolis is plus 21.
But the maps can easily be drawn to have all of these seats,
be Republican seats, plus 17 Republican or better.
Rumors also that Louisiana is going to do the same thing.
They have six congressional seats, two held by Democrats.
Again, you can easily cut up those maps to make all six congressional seats
plus 20 Republican or better.
Or in other words, do what the Democrats have done for decades.
A federal judge has temporarily blocked Texas from enforcing a new law
requiring the Ten Commandments to be posted in every public school classroom.
This is the third state that a court has blocked this law from going into effect,
joining Louisiana and Arkansas.
The law was going to go into effect September 1st.
Opponents say that it violates the First Amendment's protection for separation of church and state.
That's not in the Constitution, but whatever.
It is not over, though.
Texas has a Ten Commandments monument on the Capitol grounds, and in 2005, they won a
Supreme Court case that upheld that monument.
The president has called for a Federal Reserve governor, Lisa Cook, to resign after she's
been accused of mortgage fraud, specifically having a primary residence in Michigan and a
condo in D.C., which she also called her primary residence, so that she could get a more
favorable bank loan.
Same thing that the senator from California, Adam, shifted.
Trump Road on Truth Social, Cook must resign now.
I'm Mike Slater.
I have a podcast called Politics by Faith.
Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.
Next.
Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, because I'm a very busy guy,
I don't spend a lot of time on podcasts and other social media.
However, my new staff keeps me apprised of internet stuff,
and it usually falls into one of three categories.
Personal attacks to get attention.
fact-based discussions, and lunatic asylum applications.
Now, I have never met, former NBC commentator Joy Reid.
On television, she has a lot of energy and likes to demean white men.
I think that's an accurate description.
However, Joy's point of view did not much please NBC, which led her go.
This week, Ms. Reed secured a headline by calling
President Trump and Elvis Presley, mediocre white men who contributed nothing to the country.
These people said Joy Reed cannot create culture on their own.
Without black people, brown people, the DEIs, there is no culture in America, unquote.
Wow.
What would Stephen Spielberg say about Stephen Sondheim?
Little Stephen Van Zand.
Instead of providing a spotlight on black achievements in the arts,
Ms. Reed is compelled to denigrate Caucasians.
Makes no sense to me.
Apparently, she did not see Elvis's superb performance in Viva, Las Vegas.
Come on, Joy.
I know it's not Superfly, but it's excellent.
To be truthful, there are mediocre white men.
And women, Joy.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
the message by writing it, you can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com,
name in town if you wish to opine. Let's go to the mail. We got Doug Cassidy in Knoxville,
Tennessee. Mr. Riley, I understand your point regarding President Trump laying out
consequence of Putin's failure to stop bombing. But when the president blusters about
consequences of Putin does not agree to a cease fire, and there are no consequences,
then Mr. Trump looks weak. Okay, I see the point. But,
But in this extraordinary case, I'm giving them some slack, but it has to happen soon.
Rich Frank, Belvedere, Illinois, I was just wondering if Putin invaded Alaska, would President
Trump be willing to give up part of that state to the Russians?
Come on, we can defend ourselves, here we would.
Ukraine can't defend itself.
That's the problem.
So if Ukraine has to give up some stuff, a little bit of stuff, they have to give up stuff.
Got to live in a real world.
Jeffrey Brown, Benita Springs, Florida.
So you think, O'Reilly, China is helping Russia?
Let me stop you right there, Jeffrey.
I never said that.
What I said was, I hope China helps the USA by telling Putin to knock it off.
So be careful.
All right.
Jeffrey goes on to say, I think you're right, as you said on Leland Vitterd,
that if China stops the support for Putin, he's finished.
I think world leaders that met at the White House today,
did so to formulate it an economic plan to deal with Putin.
Look, it's Trump.
But Trump, if he can convince China to help him, huge.
Huge.
Anthony, just as you predicted, Bill,
the corporate media is being destroyed within,
as Trump derangement syndrome always does.
Absolutely, no question about it.
James, when a big story breaks,
I turn to watch CNN for a little bit,
it's sad that no matter how good something is happening
like the recent summit,
all right, they will put on somebody who hates Trump.
That's what they do.
That's what CNN does.
Not a good strategy.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
During the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump promised the lower grocery prices for the American people.
While progress has been made in some areas, the cost for other prices.
products is actually on the rise. Buyers beware, these foods are bad for your wallet.
Chicken, turkey, eggs, all up 9% under Trump. The prices are a result of supply chain problems,
high costs of bird feed avian flu. Coffee up 15%. The beans are facing new tariffs from
suppliers in Colombia, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
The only place is in the USA suitable for coffee cultivation,
Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Tariffs are also affecting the price of beer, wine, and scotch.
The libations are up 15% due to new taxes on Germany, Italy,
France, Ireland, and England.
Fruits and vegetables on the rise.
Farmers are facing droughts, increasing labor costs,
inflation rates of 3%
all of that is passed on to the consumer
wholesale prices for domestic products
are up a whopping 39%
in the fruit and vegetable area
compared to last year
if you are planning on throwing a barbecue
ditch the hot dogs the price of beef
francs up 37%
compared to 2022
American cattle herds are now
at the lowest level since 1951. Fewer cows mean producers sell the animal meat for high value
cuts like filet mignon, not Frankfurters. And here is something else you might not know.
In order to save money, the suppliers are resurrecting another very irritating trend from the
pandemic era, shrinkflation. The cost in the grocery store stays the same, but the amount of
product is reduced and you don't even know it. Hardest hit items, paper towels, cookies,
ice cream, toothpaste, chewing gum. The best deal on groceries can be found in the big trunk
stores like Walmart, online realtors like Amazon, and the old-fashioned way by clipping coupons.
Bon Appetit. Back after this.
Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update.
