Please go to TNUSA.com slash bill. Or call 800-245-6-0-00. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It's Thursday, August 22nd, 2024. Here's this happening today in America. Day three, RFK, seven arrested and new numbers. That's all coming up. And Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, Bill Clinton spoke last night, his big chance to say something nice about Kamala.
Starting point is 00:00:41 He went with, she's been our leader in the fight for reproductive freedom and has advanced America's interests and values all over the world. It's the best he can come up with. He also said she's taken on gangs trafficking across the border. What? But that was only to be outdone by Tim Walls. He said she's taken down the transnational gangs. If anything, she's brought up the transnational gangs. Tonight, Kamala's big speech.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Who will she bring out if Oprah spoke yesterday? Who's going to come out tonight? Trump, by the way, posted a letter that Oprah wrote him back in the year 2000, thanking him for their friendship. And it ended with, too bad we're not running for office. What a team. RFK Jr. is going to give a speech tomorrow in Phoenix, where he, it is expected.
Starting point is 00:01:28 announced he's dropping out of the raise and possibly endorsing Donald Trump. His vice presidential candidate Nicole Shanahan said in a podcast on Tuesday that the campaign is considering whether to join forces with Trump to prevent the risk of Kamala Harris winning the election. The most recent Washington Post poll released earlier this month had RFK at about 5% of the vote. Seven anti-abortion activists were convicted of blocking an abortion center outside of Detroit back in 2000. The U.S. attorney said these defendants are not.
Starting point is 00:01:58 entitled to their views, but they're not entitled to prevent others from exercising the rights secured to them by the laws of the United States. These seven people stood in front of an entrance to an abortion clinic so that the employees or patients could not enter. Now, this often happens where the government will release statistics and then come out later and say, oh, we're going to revise the number a little bit here or there. But this is a massive revision. The Labor Department said that monthly payroll figures overestimated job growth by 818,000 last year.
Starting point is 00:02:29 They were way off. Now, this is the sign of a bad economy. Kamala's team may spin this, though, into saying that now we can lower interest rates, which the feds could do before the election. The former governor of Rhode Island was asked about these numbers, and she said, first, I don't believe it.
Starting point is 00:02:43 I've never heard Donald Trump say anything truthful. And the anchor said, these numbers are from the Bureau of Labor. Now, she's not just the former governor of Rhode Island. She's also the current Secretary of Commerce in the Biden-Harris White House. I'm Mike Slater, Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.
Starting point is 00:03:04 National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver. Tharu, the only dealer I trust. Harkin, Hartford, Gold. And you can do this. Starting point is 00:03:48 Please call 866-326-55-75-76 or text bill to 99-88-99. Again, that's 866-3-2-26-5576 or text bill to 998899. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Thursday, here's something to consider. I believe most Republican voters understand the downside of President Trump. But the majority of Democrats have no blank an idea what Kamala Harris stands for. Of course, there's no data supporting that, so I could be wrong.
Starting point is 00:04:29 But the Rockas Convention in Chicago has convinced me that Democrats simply do not care that Ms. Harris is a devoted leftist who would promote California values if she becomes president. So what are California values? Equity, the most important, that is providing more opportunity to selected groups to attempt to write historical wrongs. Then there is onerous taxation. To provide an endless list of free stuff to the favored groups, you have to take money from
Starting point is 00:05:06 workers and businesses. California leaves the league in doing that, which is why so many are leaving that state. Restorative justice is next. is light or no punishment for miscreants. A reimagining of the social contract that is supposed to protect folks from criminal behavior. Not in California. There, it is an unjust society that stimulates crime, not the individual who must be persuaded, not forced to obey the law. And finally, the power of the state over parental authority, children must be raised by a liberal village. Kamala Harris believes in all of those things.
Starting point is 00:05:51 No question about it. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly. Name in town if you wish to opine. All right, let's get to the mail. We got the message board, Sarah.
Starting point is 00:06:07 If you are a premium or concierge member, you can go to the message boards anytime, post anything you want, as long as it's not obscene or defamatory. You can pose, and then people go back and forth. A lot of fun. It's a worthy intellectual endeavor. The message boards on bill o'Reilly.com for premium members. So Sarah is one of premium members. On Sunday, David Axarad, a Dem Party strategist that O'Reilly listens to, said Trump may very well win because of the electoral college.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Axelot is saying that to mobilize Democratic voters. Now, Trump could win, but that's not why. Axelrod is saying it. Luann, concierge member, thank you, Luann. Sadly, Bill, the Democrats are going to win. The American people cannot get past Trump's personality. Not so fast.
Starting point is 00:07:02 All right, next week is a peak for Kamala Harris. She'll peek in the polls next week. Then after Labor Day, coming up on the debate, that's the key part of the campaign. Then the polls, five days. after the debate will start to matter. Trump is in it. He's got a course correct. Don't know if he will. Debbie, I think the interview with Stephen A. Smith was one of the best yet. Both make great points and Stephen was even able to back up what he said with facts. I may not agree with him,
Starting point is 00:07:36 but he had a lot of good things to say. I agree. We like Stephen A, and we respect his ability to stand up for what he believes it. I respect that a lot. And there are not too many of them, by the way. Most of them are weasels, these media people. That's not charitable. In a moment, something you might not know. Six years ago today, scientists on earth an ancient human
Starting point is 00:08:39 finger in the mountains of Siberia. 50,000-year-old bone gave new clues about the origin of our species. Here is the story of prehistoric man. 65 million years ago, the dinosaurs were wiped out when a comet, the size of Manhattan, crashed into Earth, causing climate change. Everything was in upheaval without those dinosaurs. Mammals quickly spread all over the planet. Humans develop from those animals,
Starting point is 00:09:24 according to the evolutionary scientists. The first Homo sapiens walked the savannas of Africa 400,000 years ago, so you can see how long it took for evolution. During this period, people share the planet the planet with a few now extinct relatives, including Neanderthals, who walked stooped over. The upright people developed language, fire, tools. Humans then migrated from Africa into Europe and Asia.
Starting point is 00:10:02 The life of a prehistoric individual was brutal. Communities lived in caves, constructed small huts, protected themselves with primitive spears. The average life expectancy, 20 years. Most people died from infection of the teeth or starved to death. Many were killed by giant predators, including mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, mountain lions. The infant mortality rate, 50%. 20% of all women died during childbirth. Survivors ate, berries, shrubs, tree bark, animals, cooked over fire pits.
Starting point is 00:10:42 95% of their diet was meat from wild game and birds. Some food like deer consumed raw. And here's something else you might not know. Humans migrated around the world in search of food. They began to fish, plant crops, and domesticated livestock. Just 5,000 years after the Ice Age, the first cities developed in the Middle East. They remain, Baghdad and Jerusalem, back after this. Power, politics and the people behind the headlines.
