You'll remember it for the rest of your life. There were some weird lines. Donald Trump tried to throw away your votes. When he failed, he sent an armed mob to the U.S. Capitol. No one was armed. His explicit intent to jailed. Journalists, political opponents in anyone he sees as the enemy, jail journalists. And Trump did not go after Hillary after he won in 2016.

His explicit intent to deploy our active duty military against our own citizens, no idea what he's talking about there. And he plans to create a national anti-abortion coordinator and force states to report on women's miscarriages and abortions. There's just like a lot of that that says hard to debunk because it's all made up. Police arrested a man who threatened to kill Donald Trump at his rally in Phoenix. police took a 66-year-old man in custody without incident. Sheriff said he made threatening post on social media over a period of two days.

This man has outstanding warrants from Wisconsin for a DUI, also in Arizona, also a hit and run felony in Arizona, and his failure to register as a sex offender. When asked about it, the former president said he was aware it might be dangerous for him to be there, but, quote, I have a job to do. He was in Phoenix to highlight the border. Military Seelift Command has drafted a plan to remove the crews from 17 Navy support ships due to a lack of qualified mariners to operate the vessels across the Navy. The military Seelift Command operates a fleet of logistics ships that refuel and resupply the Navy ships around the world, crewed by 5,500 civilians who were employed by the Navy. One former mariner said they're just burning through people. The Princeton Review released their best 389 colleges, eight colleges, NYU, Tufts, Brown, Yale, Washington University in St. Louis.

They have a sticker price of over $90,000. Prices have been going up about 4% a year, so they will be over $100,000 a year by 2026. The left says that this is due to deep cuts in state funding. platform put forth at the convention in Chicago? I didn't see it. I don't think many people saw it. It was issued. media did not report it. Oh, I wonder why. Perhaps because it is the most radical political platform ever put forth in this country with the exception of pro-slavery stuff before the Civil War. Part of the platform is more than $2 trillion from what we have now. more than $2 trillion in increased spending. Who on earth is going to pay for that? Well, if you're working, you will pay for it.

And I certainly will. And the corporations will. They will pile on taxes at a record level in modern times. And that will lead to an enormous pullback in our economy. because the inflation rate under Joe Biden for essentials of life was more than 20%. You're going to double that if you raise taxes on corporations who will then pass those tax rises to consumers who buy their stuff. That's what always happens.

from the Washington Post. The questionable comments from the president were not related to World War II, the Soviet Union, or the Communist Revolution in China. But Harry's daughter, Margaret, here is the story. On August 23rd, 1947, 23rd, 1947, 23-year-old Margaret Truman made her first major performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. She began singing at the age of 16, and she wanted a career in showbiz. So, a post-music critic, a man named Paul Hume,

trashed the concert given by Margaret, wrote Hume, quote, "'Miss Truman should refrain from public appearances for at least three years "'or until she learns to sing properly,' unquote. "'Well, after that review, Hume received a note from President Truman himself. "'Quote, it seems to me that you are frustrated old man who wishes he could have been successful. Someday, I hope to meet you. When that happens, you will need a new nose

and a lot of beefsteak for black eyes. The incident, just one example of Truman's rough relationship with the press. In 1955, Harry called the White House press pool, quote, prostitutes of the mind. In another private letter, he claimed newspaper columnists were, quote, more dangerous than street walkers.

And here's something else you might not know. Harry Truman's feistiness did not help his public perception. After assuming office following the death of Franklin Roosevelt in 1945, Harry's approval rating was a whopping 87%. When he left D.C. in 1953, eight years later, that figure had fallen to 32%. The Korean War did not help. As for Margaret Truman, she never made it big in showbiz.

After a few failed projects for TV, she joined NBC Radio alongside Mike Wallace. There she presented news and interviews aimed at a female audience. Later in life, Margaret became an author. She wrote mystery novels. Margaret Truman died from natural causes in 2008. She was 83 years old. Back after this. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines.
