Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, August 25th, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America.
Donald Trump expands his crime crackdown. The FBI raids the home of John Bolton. Economists
rank the hottest housing markets in America and a new survey list the worst airlines in the United States.
and then I will be here with your message today talking about how Americans value human life.
And we take that for granted, but many countries around the world do not, including a pretty
important one. We've got that coming up. But first, the Trump administration planning to expand
its crackdown on urban crime, the president telling reporters he may deploy additional resources
to places like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Last week, Trump dispatched the National Guard
to patrol Washington, D.C. And since then, crimes down double digits across
the Capitol. Carjack is down 90%. Hasn't been a homicide since. The president announced that he is
mobilizing 1,700 National Guard Troops to 19 states. They're all red states. These National Guard
Troops will be under the command of their Republican governors, but it certainly is a large
coordinated effort. The FBI raided the home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
The reason behind the search was reportedly linked to a probe of allegations that Bolton sent classified
documents to his family from a private email server while working at the White House.
FBI director Dan Bongino confirmed the rate on social media stating public corruption will not
be tolerated. Real estate experts rank the hottest housing markets in America heading into
26. They all can be found in red states. Top five include Charlotte, North Carolina,
San Antonio, Texas, Raleigh, North Carolina, Jacksonville, Florida, and number one this summer,
Tampa, Florida. Home prices are up 25% compared to 2020. First-time buyers cite the housing boom on
warm weather and high-paying jobs. A new report ranks the worst airlines in America of the five
major carriers, Delta, had the fewest delays with 21% of flights taken off after their scheduled
departure. Next was United, 23% delays. American 28%, Southwest 29%, dead last jet blue.
36% of all flights in July were delayed.
3% were outright canceled.
The biggest problem for air travel this summer
is a nationwide shortage of pilots.
To make matters worse for all of us,
the average price of a domestic ticket is up 25%.
Coming up next, we'll talk about how American culture values human life,
but that's not necessarily true in countries around the world.
And then also a memo from the Democratic Party saying,
hey, Democrats, don't say these words anymore.
You're making us look ridiculous.
We'll tell you the list.
Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets.

Now it's time for the O'Reilly update message of the day.
As we wait and find out what the fruit is of all of Trump's efforts with Ukraine and Russia.
My favorite line throughout this whole ordeal this last few weeks was Trump was on Air Force One.
He said, I'm not doing this for my health, okay?
I don't need this.
I'd like to focus on our own country,
but I'm doing this to save a lot of lives.
Donald Trump hates people dying.
I've never seen a president so dedicated
to ending the unnecessary loss of human life around the world.
Has any American president ever cared about Armenia and Azerbaijan?
No, no one's ever heard of it.
Now, there are some geopolitical.
benefits for Trump brokering peace between those two nations, mostly because Armenia used to be a massive Russian ally, and now they're more aligned with us. It's a huge blow to Russia. But also, it ended a 30-plus-year conflict. This president hates more than any president I've ever seen in my life. He hates the unnecessary loss of human life. And that is a great American value. Generally speaking, Americans value human life.
Not everyone else around the world does.
It's really interesting when I said, just a second thing, I said,
Americans value human life.
You probably are like, yeah, okay, great, big deal.
Duh.
No, not duh.
Many countries around the world have cultures that do not value human life.
Life is cheap in many places around the world.
And one of those places is Russia.
You know, our president said,
we'll see if Putin wants to end this war.
And we look at the situation, we're like, yeah, of course he needs to end it.
But no, I don't think Putin does.
I heard one analysis that Putin doesn't want to end the war because he's more than happy to send off young men to die.
Because those young men who are off dying would be his opposition back at home.
And you think, well, that's awful.
How could anyone think like that or act on that?
Because he's a Russian dictator.
and Soviets have never valued human life.
What's 20 million people dead because of communism?
Who cares?
Surrounding error.
I read an analysis of Russia from this woman Marilyn Murray,
her family's from Russia,
and she's dedicated her professional life
to understanding the Russian psyche.
And she works with people who used to live in Russia
and who are now trying to figure out that their life matters.
And she wrote this.
She said, my Russian students have shared with me,
that under the Soviet system, they had no worth as a person,
that they were only a cog in the wheel that made the state run.
One of my most important issues that we constantly addressed in our classes
is to help each participant realize that they are unique and valuable.
Now, in America, we sort of take that to the other extreme.
Like, oh, you're a special little snowflake and the whole world revolves around you,
and that can have its own problems too.
But in Russia, they're on that other extreme where life,
is cheap. It was Soltanitskin who wrote in the Gulag Archipelago. Shall we sum up the whole
history of Russia in a single phrase? It's the land of smothered opportunities. Where America is
the land of hope and a beacon of freedom and a shining city upon a hill. Russia has been
for 100 plus years a land of despair. So Trump, a quintessential American, looks at this situation
and says, well, the killing has to stop. But a man like Vladimir,
Putin may look at this situation and say, I don't want it to stop. More power for me.
We value human life in America. Not everyone else around the world does. And it may be difficult
to understand and therefore make deals with people who don't value human life like we do.

Mike Slater, filling up for Bill O'Reilly.
Now it's time for something you might not know.
There is a left-wing think tank called The Third Way.
And they have come out with a list of 45 words that you should not use anymore if you are a Democrat.
So if you're a Democrat running for office, you should not use these words.
Why?
Because Democrats are so alienating to normal people.
They've so lost their way on.
how to talk like a normal person.
Here is this group that's run all these focus groups, everything.
They're saying, stop using these words, you sound ridiculous.
So they put together this great list, and they put it in different categories.
The first category, therapy speak.
Words like privilege, dialoguing, othering, triggering, microaggression,
centering, safe space.
Ooh, that's one of the originals.
Holding space and body shaming.
Again, this is a Democrat group, telling Democrats, stop using these words.
You're alienating normal people.
Seminar room language.
Subverting norms.
Systems of oppression.
Critical theory, cultural appropriation, postmodernism, existential threat as in the climate or democracy.
Organizer jargon.
Small D. Democracy.
Radical transparency.
Barriers to participation.
stakeholder capitals.
And by the way, these are all like the fundamental tenets of what the Democrats are today.
So to be clear, they're not saying don't be these things or don't believe these things.
They're just saying don't say them out loud.
Food insecurity.
Person who immigrated.
The unhoused.
A whole section on gender and trans stuff.
Birthing person and inseminated person.
Oh my goodness.
Pregnant people.
Chest feeding.
cisgender, patriarchy, LGBTQIA plus.
Not allowed to say that one anymore.
Racial words, Latinx, Bipak, allyship,
minoritized communities, intersectionality.
There's a good justice-involved persons.
Now listen, we can laugh, and we will.
We will always laugh at them.
But it's a bit of a bummer that they're slowly figuring out
what makes them so ridiculous.
We don't want them to figure it out, but I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm sure the chest-feeding Bipok allies from their triggered safe spaces will find another way to alienate normal people.
More coming up.
I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Fate.
Thank you for letting me fill in for the O'Reilly update.
We will be back tomorrow.
Thank you.
