Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It's Thursday, August 29th, 2024.
Here's this happening today in America.
The big interview.
1 million purged, recruitment goal hit and worse than your average broken glass.
It's all coming up than Bill's going to be here with your message of the day of the first.
Kamala's first big interview is tonight on CNN, 9 o'clock Eastern, led by Dana Bash,
whose number one goal is to do no harm to Kamala's candidacy.
It's going to be a joint interview with Tim Walz.
And most importantly, not live.
So any flubs can and will be edited out.
Look for the jump cut.
If Kamala's talking and the camera for no reason cuts to Dana Bash nodding her head or cuts to what's called B-roll, it's a random video of the topic they're discussing, then the editors probably cut out some audio of Kamala talking.
And they jumped away so you wouldn't notice.
Watch for the jump cuts.
The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has removed over one million people from the state's voter rolls in their effort to prevent ineligible people from voting, including, of course, non-citizens.
But this also includes people who have died, 100% of whom vote Democrat, interesting.
People also have moved out of the state and other reasons for no longer being eligible to vote.
The governor tweeted voter fraud is real, especially in Houston.
The court has found that 1,430 illegal votes were cast in a race for a district court judge.
This ruling was sparked because the Republican lost to the Democrat by only 449 votes.
The Navy will meet its recruiting goal of 40,600 recruits by the end of September.
but they won't meet it in time for those recruits to make it through basic training.
They'll fall 5,000 sailors short of its target for all recruits to finish the 10-week training
course in Illinois by the end of the fiscal year.
The Navy's not hit the recruiting goal for the last two years.
The Navy overall is about 22,000 sailors short.
Last year, the Navy Army and Air Force all failed to meet their recruitment goals.
A 3,500-year-old Bronze Age-era jar has been.
been wonderfully preserved. It predates the reigns. King David, King Solomon, kept for safekeeping
at a museum in Israel. And then a four-year-old got to it. Pulled it over, thinking there was
something inside, a treat or a treasure, fell to the floor and shattered. The boy felt terrible,
but the museum invited the family back for a private tour. The museum director said this is not
a mausoleum, but a living place, open to families and accessible to everyone. We're appealing
to parents, don't be afraid. Things like this happened. We'll fix the jar and put it back.
I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, there's no question that New York State is in trouble with hundreds of thousands of residents leaving.
generally poorer folks replace them, so tax revenue drops. Corporate tax receipts will soon
recede as well. The state is sinking deeper into debt, services will eventually suffer.
The leftists running the city and state could not care less. They generally despise capitalism
and the citizens who benefit from it. They want to collapse the criminal justice system and the
financial system. And they are partially succeeding. California, Illinois, Oregon, Washington
State are in the same position, destroying traditional infrastructure to create a socialist
utopia where equity rules. The collateral damage, of course, is public safety. Some poor
neighborhoods in New York City are now literally run by drug gangs who terrorize the defenseless
with little fear of detention.
No bail is, of course, a get-out-of-jail-free car.
Governors Gavin Newsom and Kathy Hochel are playing monopoly with people's lives.
Miscreants, including hard drug dealers, have little to fear in the Empire and other states.
I hope the citizenry will finally wise up at the ballot box, but it is getting late.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at

Just 30 days ago, Kamala Harris had the lowest VP rating of anyone. And now a magic spell
has been cast and she's the greatest thing ever, of course. But it's all we don't like
Trump, not she's the greatest thing.
Debbie, I know Calma Harris's nasty things, but I'm telling you, she doesn't say things
the way Trump does.
People can listen to Harris and get angry, but when they listen to Trump, lots of women
and men recoil.
All right, I mean, look, it's not justifying bad behavior with other bad behavior.
Harris can get really nasty, and I expect you will do that in a debate.
Trump can you step back and point it out, just like Reagan did.
There you go again.
But Trump needs women to vote for him.
Chuck Christie, Tucson, Arizona.
Bill, if Democrats win this year, can the Republicans ever win another election?
Of course.
The country swings arc back and forth, back and forth.
We have Dane Hale, College Grove, Tennessee.
You and I would not agree on everything, but when it comes to reporting the facts,
I trust you 100% O'Reilly.
You have a commentary, but you're cautious to let us know how you're backing it up.
And I appreciate that.
I'm not the political go-to guy because I was talking about dropping.
I am now the political go-to guy in my community because I was talking about dropping Biden dropping out before anyone else.
I heard it from you.
You know, a lot of no-spin news, viewers and listeners adopted my analysis and now they look like genius.

Not no.
218 years ago, the future president of the United States
shot and killed a man over a horse.
The event added to the man's rough reputation
that continued throughout his lifetime.
Here is a story behind the duel of Andrew Jackson and Charles Dickinson.
The beef began in 1806 when Dickinson, an attorney from Nashville,
made lewd remarks about Jackson's wife, Rachel.
At the time, Old Hickory had served as a justice of the Tennessee Superior Court.
Dickinson then published an article accusing Jackson of cheating on a horse bet.
He also labeled him, quote, a worthless scoundrel and coward.
No stranger to violence.
Andrew Jackson challenged the lawyer to a gun fight.
On May 30th, the two men met on a farm in rural Kentucky.
After pacing a few feet, they turned.
turned an open fire. Dickison's bullet struck Jackson in the middle of his chest. Old
Hickory's gun misfired. In a breach of dueling etiquette, Jackson recocked his weapon, shot his
opponent dead. The bullet that hit, Jackson, was too close to his heart to perform surgery.
He carried the fragments for the rest of his life. The injury frequently caused him health
problems. He often coughed up blood, a gruesome reminder of the duel. And here's something else
you might not know. Historians believe Jackson was involved in many gunfights, including one with
the governor of Tennessee. But documentation is scant. In my upcoming book confronting the presidents,
we could not nail down exactly how many duels Jackson participated in.
There was a lack of reporting, and Jackson himself, in his later years, was vague.
After winning the White House, Jackson's rough reputation was solidified by the Indian Removal Act,
the forced relocation of 50,000 Native Americans, and the confiscation of millions of acres of their land.
In total, Old Hickory forced the Indian tribes to sign 70 treaties, nearly all under the threat of death.
To this day, Andrew Jackson remains one of the most controversial presidents in U.S. history.
Back after this.
