Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It is Friday, December 19th. Merry Christmas. Here's what's happening today in America. Inflation numbers, denaturalization, sex rejecting surgery, and AOC polling.

It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the president gets briefed on inflation numbers before they are released to the public. So the president went into his speech the other day knowing that good news was coming with the economy. The expectation for inflation over the last two months was 3.1%. The official survey of economists' expectations, the lowest prediction, was 2.9%. The actual number, 2.7%. And looking at specific categories, food inflation over the last two months, up only 0.1%. Shelter, up only 0.2% for the last two months.

That's the slowest increase in five years. Some categories all the way down, women's clothing, down 1%. And even among categories that tariffs would hit the hardest, inflation is historically low. It also creates more room for the Fed to cut rates at their next meeting. And if this keeps up, well, first of all, it's amazing for America. But politically, if this keeps up, this will destroy. The only thing that the Democrats have to run on for the midterms,

that is affordability. A professor at Harvard University was on CNN to talk about these numbers. he said it was a better number than anyone was expecting. Positive news. There's no other way to spin it. Our United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Department is setting out a plan to denaturalize naturalized Americans, those who have been found to have fraudulently secured that legal status.

Their focus is to refer 100 to 200 denaturalization cases every month to the agency's Office of Immigration Litigation. Now, this isn't unprecedented. There's about a dozen denaturalization. cases every year. This would just be quite the increase. In the four years of the Biden presidency, they awarded citizenship to 3.5 million foreign nationals, which is by far the most naturalizations of any single presidential term ever, more than Carter, Reagan, and H.W. Bush combined. Worth noting that this president often mentions that Congresswoman Elon Omar,

rumors have it, married her brother in order to secure citizenship here. Health and Human Services has announced that they're going to prevent hospitals from all sex rejecting procedures on children under the age of 18. According to HHS, nearly 14,000 minors receive sex rejecting procedures, have received them from 2019 to 2023. This term sex rejecting procedure is the opposite of the left's term, gender affirming care. AOC was shown a poll about a hypothetical presidential matchup between her and J.D. Vance. On this Friday, if the midterm election were held today, the Republicans would get waxed. Americans are not a patient people, and often vote emotionally, struggling to pay bills, is very emotional. Yes, President Biden screwed up the economy with massive federal spending

and little oversight or problem solving. But the folks are long past, old Joe. Bringing him up is like saying the Mets collapsed last summer. It's true, but so what? It's over. New season ahead. President Trump campaigned on bringing prices down.

He's done that somewhat. Gasoline, the most prominent, but other prices have gone up. Some stuff in the grocery store like meat and insurance, that's the big one. So the president has got to deal with that and he understands that it will be him people are voting on next November in the midterms. But in order to get the turnout that President Trump and Republicans need to hold hold both houses, there has to be a strong turnout for Mr. Trump again. That's not going to be easy, but Mr. Trump believes he can pull it off. However, he needs to cut down on unforced errors like

She didn't give the whole story as you did, O'Reilly. Porter stated $105,000 for loss but failed to mention majority are federal government positions.

Why would she? Number one, she probably doesn't know, all right, doesn't know. And number two, even if she did know, if you actually provide context to the unemployment number, you help Donald Trump. While the scandal derailed his political agenda, it also caused Clinton's popularity to actually go up. Here is the story. January 1998, editors at Newsweek, the Washington Post, the New York Times, all received

critical reports of an affair between President Clinton and a White House intern named Monica Lewinsky. Both the Clintons, Bill and Hillary denied it. The First Lady dismissed the accusation as part of a, quote, vast right-wing conspiracy. President Clinton then held a press conference where he made the following now famous statement. But I want to say one thing to the American. American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time. Never. In August 1998, Bill Clinton became the first sitting president to testify as a subject of a grand jury investigation. Days later, he addressed the nation. Chief Executive finally admitting

He did have an inappropriate relationship with Ms. Lewinsky. On December 19, the House passed two articles of impeachment, perjury and obstruction of justice. After a five-week trial in the Senate, Clinton was acquitted. No Democrats voted to remove him, and two-thirds of the 100 senators are needed to convict and remove a president from office. office. And here is something else you might not know. News of the scandal was first reported on the recently formed Internet back then. The story broke as a small piece on the Drudge report just after midnight, January 17, 1998.
