Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Friday, December 20th, 2024.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Speaker election, Biden commutations, the lame stream admits it, and Fannie dumped.
It's all coming up, then Bill's going to be here with your message today.
But first, Donald Trump was asked if he still has confidence in Mike Johnson as speaker.
Trump said, we'll see.
What they had the other day was unacceptable.
It was a Democrat trap.
Now, there is a speaker election coming up on January 3rd.
They do it in the beginning of every new Congress.
Rand Paul suggesting maybe the Speaker of the House should be Elon Musk.
As it relates to a shutdown, Newt Gingrich said that Trump and the Republican should not be afraid of a government shutdown.
We had two shutdowns in 1995, and then we became the first re-elected Republican House majority since 1928.
Joe Biden just issued 1,49 commutations of federal prisoners, the largest single-day issue ever in American history.
His office said that they were all nonviolent offenders, but they must have forgotten about Josephine Virginia Gray.
She was sentenced to 40 years in prison for insurance fraud schemes connected to the murder of three
men between 1974 and 1996.
Two were her husbands.
One was a boyfriend, all found with gunshots to the head.
She collected $166,000 in life insurance claims.
The Maryland Attorney General did not pursue state charges because he said at the time her hefty
federal sentence ensures that she will die in prison.
Biden also commuted the sentence of a Mississippi cancer doctor who diluted chemotherapy drug,
as a part of a Medicare fraud scheme,
an Illinois comptroller who embezzled $53 million,
the biggest municipal fraud case in American history,
and the 15-year sentence of Wendy Hechtman,
a former journalist convicted of manufacturing and selling a drug
that's considered more powerful than fentanyl, carfentanil.
It's believed that her drug operation led to at least six overdose deaths.
The Wall Street Journal, admitting the obvious, casually saying
that the U.S. president is mentally incapacitated
and has been that way for his entire presidency.
Wall Street Journal reporting that from the beginning,
of his term, his team had fewer and shorter meetings, very few one-on-one interactions with
lawmakers. The chairman of the Armed Services Committee said he never talked to Biden once,
even when he desperately tried to before the Afghanistan withdrawal. The Georgia Court of Appeals
has disqualified Fulton County DA Fannie Willis from the RICO case against President Trump.
They said no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these
proceedings. The elected DA is wholly disqualified from the case. What a crash and burn from
Fannie Willis. Trump wins again. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast. Politics by Faith Bill O'Reilly

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Friday, your humble correspondent was petitioned by the French magazine Le Express to talk
American politics, and here's what I told the reporter, that President Trump wants Europe to prosper
because that helps the USA. But he's not going to pay for the continent's collective defense
because that drains the American treasury, that Europeans don't generally understand Mr. Trump.
He's a provocateur, yes, but he's also a savvy dealmaker. I believe he will get a ceasefire in
Ukraine fairly quickly.
Gaza, more complicated, that President Trump wants peace on earth for the obvious reason, but also
because calm leads to prosperity.
Europeans are also way to dependent on state-run media like the BBC, and they don't
pick up the rhythms of American politics.
In addition, they don't understand.
what a disaster President Biden has been for working Americans whose take-home pay is being
drained by high taxes and foolish policies. In Europe, most folks are totally dependent on government.
Not here. The majority of us earn our way and want the bureaucracy out of our way. That's a big
reason Donald Trump won. This weekend we'll post the
the entire translated interview on Les Express on Bill O'Reilly.com.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

Name in town, if you wish to opine.
Let's go to the mail.
We got Melly.
Fault of money when it comes to Liz Cheney.
Two facts.
Did Liz pay Hutchinson or did Liz use blackmail to get Hutchison to be a fraud?
what does Hutchinson have to gain by making false statements?
Hutchson had a best-selling book.
She made thousands of dollars by peddling false stories, at least I believe they're false,
about Donald Trump.
That's what happened.
Glenda, I don't think the Biden administration selling off the wall is minutiae.
We paid for that material as taxpayers.
He's selling it out of vindictiveness.
Maybe so, but so what?
So what?
there's going to be brand new barriers put up by the federal government fast i don't get
upset about small ball michael hanson billings montana it's my understanding that trump
will be able to automatically deport illegal immigrants who have committed a crime yes or no
he can deport them after a hearing okay um aren't all illegal aliens committing crime by being
here illegally no it's a civil violation
which has to change. It's a civil violation across the border or
overstay your visa. That's got to change. Congress has got to, you know, put
punitive measures on that. It's one of the problems. Pierre
Rodriguez, Quebec, Canada. Bill, you say Biden is insulting and arrogant, okay,
but why wouldn't you say the same about Trump when he insults Canadians by
talking about our country being the 51st state? All right, that's insulting, but it's not a
the same level as failing to explain why drones are all over the place. But I see your point,
Pierre. I wouldn't have done that if I were President Trump. In a moment, something you might
not know.

Christmas is honored by 2.2 billion Christians on all seven continents.
even Antarctica. But some folks are actually banned from celebrating the holiday, and that takes
place in more than a dozen countries. Here are a few examples. First, Afghanistan, where marking
the birth of Jesus can get you killed. According to the Taliban, there are officially zero
Christians living in the country. Westerners are forbidden from celebrating Christmas,
even in private.
Next, Somalia, each year, the government issues a declaration labeling Christmas a, quote,
public threat to the Muslim faith.
Any religious practice not affiliated with Islam is forbidden in Somalia.
About Christmas in Cuba, well, it's a little complicated.
Fidel Castro abolished the holiday in 1969, but citizens celebrated anyway.
In 1998, the Marxist government in Nevada declared September 25th a non-religious day of leisure.
Workers can take a 24-hour break, but without pay.
In North Korea, any religious observation of any kind can get you thrown into a prison camp.
Situation is so volatile that citizens in South Korea that live near the demilitarized zone are prohibited from displaying
Christmas decorations on their houses. But they do. And they get in trouble because the authorities
don't want to provoke fire from the north. Over to China, home to 54 million Christians.
Following a communist crackdown on religion, the Chinese use secular ways to secretly celebrate
the birth of Jesus. People hang decorative lanterns. Some exchange New Year cards.
with covert Christian messages.
And here's something else you might not know.
For a short period of time, Christmas was also banned in England.
During the Civil War in the 17th century, Oliver Cromwell, bad guy,
served as Lord Protector of the British Isles.
The strict Puritan believed anyone who honored Christmas was a Catholic spy.
So under Cromwell's rule, officials caught celebrating on December 25th,
Wound up in the Tower of London.
Back after this.
