Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is the final day of the year, December 31st, 2025.
Here's what's going on today in America.
Unfettered access, 85 people charged, Bitcoin ATM fraud, and au-voir, gloonies.
It's all coming up, and Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, a federal judge ruled that ICE officials came
access Medicaid data to find people who are in the United States illegally.
That is against the law for illegal aliens to even access Medicaid benefits, but some
states have state funded plans that do allow it. The Trump administration has allowed
Homeland Security to access HHS records, but in July 20 states filed a lawsuit saying
you're not allowed to do that. But the judge said that basic biological location
and contact information is legal. So ICE has
access now to six categories of basic personal information, citizenship and immigration status,
address, phone number, date of birth, and Medicaid ID.
The Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that 85 Somalian nationals have been charged regarding
the fraud that's been going on for years in Minnesota with, quote, more prosecutions coming.
She said Nick Shirley's work has helped show Americans the scale of fraud in Tim Walz's
Minnesota. She said, we have more prosecutions coming. Buckle up lawmakers. Nick Shirley's
video has over 130 million views. The FBI announced that this last year, fraudsters have
tricked Americans into sending $333 million using Bitcoin ATM machines. In 2024,
scammers caused $250 million in losses, and that was double from the year before,
and now it's $330 million. There's $45,000 of these Bitcoin ATMs nationwide. You insert cash and
send Bitcoin anywhere in the world.
Only takes a few minutes.
And once the transaction is done, it's impossible to recover this money ever again.
The D.C. Attorney General sued one Bitcoin ATM company saying that 93% of the transactions
on their devices were helping fraudsters.
And the median age of the victim was 71.
George Clooney and his wife, Amal, have been approved for French citizenship.
They own a farm in France.
George was born in Kentucky.
He claims it's because France has more privacy laws.
which benefits their children.
Good timing for the Clooney's.
Next year, the French government is making a requirement that you can only become a French citizen
if you can speak French to the point where you can defend your opinions, understand complex texts,
and communicate spontaneously with a native French speaker.
George Clooney said his French is horrible.
Heaven forbid, we have an English requirement here in America.
Now, now, Somalis can set up the quality, low.
Learing Center, no one bats an eye. I'm Mike Slater. Your message of the day coming up next.

Mike Slater, filling for Bill O'Reilly.
Now it's time for the O'Reilly Update message of the day.
The great Andrew Breitbart said that politics is downstream of culture.
It means culture comes first and politics follow.
Politics are a reflection of our culture.
Therefore, it's important that we take our culture back.
Just an assessment on who controls our culture today.
There's a new movie coming out on Netflix called Steps,
an animated film that follows Cinderella's evil stepsisters
who are actually depicted as kind and misunderstood.
Coming out, spring of 26.
Gee, Slater, the movie hasn't even come out yet.
You haven't even seen it.
How are you going to turn this into something bad?
Because we've seen this a million times.
This is what the culture makers and Satan do today.
It's very sneaky.
They blur the line between good and evil.
It's not black and white.
It's all gray.
Who really are the bad guys?
Are they really bad or are they merely misunderstood?
If you think this doesn't matter,
we see the same type of thinking in our criminal justice system.
Oh, is this murderer really bad?
Was he just misunderstood as a child?
Sure, this guy's been arrested 83 times, but oh, he just needs a hug and an 84th chance.
Then he'll be an astronaut.
This worldview starts in children's books and movies.
Paul Antleitner, he's a cultural critic.
He said, girls have been hit particularly hard with a,
what you were told was evil is a misunderstood good messaging from wicked,
Maleficent, Cruella.
What's the end result of internalizing this message throughout your childhood?
A moral compass that has no sense of true North.
I've not seen the movie Wicked because it looks awful
and the stars in it are the wokenest people imaginable, so I'm out.
But I looked at the plot.
A central point of Wicked is that the Wicked Witch of the West
is profoundly misunderstood due to prejudice, propaganda, and her green skin,
which leads to her being scapegoated as evil,
despite her advocacy for the oppressed.
The story reimagines her as a smart, fiery outcast
who faces lifelong bullying and discrimination,
challenging simplistic good-vers-evil narratives,
born different.
The witch accepts this while boldly opposing injustices
like the silencing of talking animals,
earning her the wicked label from the wizard's manipulative regime.
The evil wizard brands her as wicked
to unify Oz against a common enemy
using propaganda to control the populace, blah, blah, blah.
Karela was another movie where Karela DeVille, devil,
was bullied as a child and her mother died
because she was pushed out of the window by a Dalmatian.
Who really is the bad guy?
Villains in our postmodern culture have been reframed
as victims of prior oppression and trauma.
This is why real life criminals are portrayed as victims.
It's all part of the progressive moral matrix
everything is upside down. We used to live in a culture with clear good guys and bad guys because
we were a people with moral clarity. In the movie, it's a wonderful life. Who's the good guy?
Who's the bad guy? It's obvious. And we need to make it clear not only for kids, but everywhere
in our culture today. There is good and evil. And good is called to fight against the evil.
C.S. Lewis wrote a beautiful essay about children's books and the importance of it. He said,
since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard about
brave knights and heroic courage. Let there be wicked kings and beheadings, battles and dungeons,
giants and dragons, and let villains be soundly killed at the end of the book. This is the year
where we bring back the good, the beautiful, and the true, reject all movies with moral
inversions. This is a time for moral clarity and courage. I'm Mike Slater, something you might
not know. Next.

important that we understand the 1965 Heart Seller Act.
Barack Obama, about a month ago, said what's unique about America is this idea that you get a
bunch of people from every corner of the planet who don't look alike, don't worship the
same, don't eat the same foods, don't have the same last names.
That's what makes this country exceptional.
That's not true.
That's not what America ever was.
A bunch of people from every corner of the planet.
I've been told my entire life that diversity is our strength.
America's exceptional because we have nothing in common at all with each other.
Can't even talk to each other in the same language.
That makes us great.
What are you talking about?
Democratic Congressman Rokana, whose family is from India and Pakistan.
Now he's a congressman.
The other day he said, you know, Donald Trump, he's a Democrat.
He said, oh, Donald Trump wants to bring us back to a pre-1965 immigration policy.
And I thought that's an oddly specific date.
Why did he pick 1965?
Well, from 1921 to 1965, we had what was called the National Origins Formula, which restricted immigration from around the world.
The formula was used to determine how many people we let in and from what country around the world.
The quota was 3% of foreign-born persons from each country based off the 1910 census.
So, if the census in 1910 said there were 10,000 Italians in America, we're only going to allow 3.5%.
hundred Italians a year. That's it. Now, three years into this experiment, they said, you know what,
this isn't tough enough. Let's go back to the 1890 census and lower it from three percent to just
two percent. And then, for good measure, in 1925, we passed the Asian Exclusion Act, just to make
it clear that we're not letting in anyone from Asia. So from 1921 to 1965, there was no
third world immigration in the United States. And I would argue that this was for the best,
for our country. It was a time for everyone to assimilate to something specific, something good,
something to find, not just a bunch of people from everywhere who can't talk to each other and have
nothing in common, as Barack Obama put it. In 1921, 14% of the people in this country were foreign-born.
We got that drop down to 4% in 1970. Today, we're all-time highs, at least 15%. And we don't really know
because we have no idea how many illegals are here. It is time for another version.
of the 1965
Heart Seller Act
because diversity,
dare I say,
is not our strength.
More coming up.
Hope you have a wonderful new year.
