Please go to TNUSA.com slash bill. Or call 800-245-6-0-0. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, December 4th, 2024. Here's what's happening today in America. martial law, preemptive pardons, still counting, and name withdrawn. That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, protests outside of the South Korean National Assembly to demand the resignation
Starting point is 00:00:43 of their president. The president declared martial law, which banned all rallies and demonstrations, outlawed all fake news and any effort to, quote, manipulate public opinion. He ended up lifting the martial law decree hours after lawmakers, you know, unanimously rejected it, his chief of staff and more than 10 senior secretaries of all withdrawn. Part of the story is that his wife accepted a $2,200 Dior handbag as a gift, which is against their anti-corruption laws. That's considered corruption over there, I guess.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Speaking of corruption, Democrats in D.C. are floating the idea of preemptive pardons. The suggestion is that Joe Biden should preemptively pardon people who has, they believe is on Trump's enemy list. Senator from Massachusetts said, if it's clear by January 19th that revenge is his intention, then I would recommend to President Biden that to provide those preemptive pardons to people, because that's really what our country is going to need next year. To be clear, that's not a thing that would be unprecedented, but so is pardoning your son. People have thrown around on this pre-pardon list, Jill Biden, Majorcas, James Comey, Andrew McCabe,
Starting point is 00:01:59 and even Joe Biden himself. We are one month after the election, and there's still a congressional race in California that is yet to be called. They're still counting the votes. It looks like the incumbent Republican will lose this seat, which means the Republicans will have a one-seat majority. They had a few more seat majority,
Starting point is 00:02:17 but Matt Gates resigned. Stefanik is the new UN ambassador, and Mike Walts is the new national security advisor. Now, all these three seats will be filled in a special election. They will go Republican, but it'll be a couple weeks of the new term in January where Republicans will have the slimmest of majorities. So if one Republican decides to vote with the Democrats, then the vote will end in a 216-216 tie.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Trump's pick for DEA administrator has withdrawn his consideration. Mag and people were very upset at this pick because of what he did during COVID. Among other things, he arrested a pastor for having church services and he released 164 prisoners from jail because they could not social distance properly. and one of them went on to murder someone. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast. Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. On this Wednesday, President Biden and Jimmy Carter are soulmates. Mr. Carter's four-year term was unsuccessful and is recorded that way in history.
Starting point is 00:04:27 You'd have to be a nanny hammer to defend President Carter. Joe Biden governed even worse than Jimmy if the yardstick is helping working Americans. But it was Biden's creation of destructive policies like the open border that will doom his legacy forever. But what about the president's recent pardon of his grifter son, Hunter? Now, I believe it was the right thing to do on a humanitarian level. Any loving father would have considered it, nonviolent crimes involved. Yes, Hunter is a lawbreaker and a weak, selfish person. Just one example, his young out-of-wedlock daughter will pay a terrible price for
Starting point is 00:05:19 his irresponsible behavior. But what father really wants to see his son incarcerated? An argument can be made that Hunter Biden has paid a price in the court of public opinion. Joe Biden will not be fondly remembered by most. He likely sold his influence to enrich his family. The evidence is almost overwhelming about that. His policies, as I said, largely hurt the country, and he's obviously not a truthful person. That's how Joe will ride off into the sunset. The cloud of dust will quickly disappear as it should. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. Let's go to the mail Howard Flower, Holtzville, New York, on Long
Starting point is 00:06:19 island. But I'm curious now, the Republicans gain power. Do you think they will continue to pursue the lingering question of whether or not Joe Biden personally benefited from his son and brother's business? I do not think they will do that. Could. It's all up to the Attorney General. Pam Bondi. I don't think Trump wants to do that. But I could be wrong on that. Paul Bithynas, Itapina, Brazil. All right. They love us. in Brazil. Bill, corruption can now be spelled B-I-D-E-N. Not arguing with that. I'm not arguing with that. I believe that Joe Biden practiced corruption. Not wrong on that. Dan O'Brien, Cameron, North Carolina. Can a president pardon someone of a crime? They haven't yet been convicted.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yes. Blanket pardon. Richard Nixon. Gerald Ford. Pardon it. Yes. You can give a blanket pardon. Got to leave the guy alone. That's what Honor got.
