Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It's Monday, February 10th, 2025.
Here's what's happening today in.
Courts step in.
Doge doesn't quit.
Trump gets the cheers and an Eagles blowout.
That's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, 19 states filed a lawsuit to stop Elon and Doge from accessing government systems
and the Treasury Department.
The Treasury Department is where all the money goes out.
All the payments are ultimately made.
The 19 states led by Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York,
say they are worried that Trump could use this info of taxpayers for his own political agenda,
and they also say they're worried about cybersecurity risks.
A judge came back and said that Musk's Department of Government efficiency
has no legal power to access the U.S. Department of Treasury systems.
but according to Senator Tom Cotton, this lawsuit also applies to Trump's Secretary of Treasury
so the Secretary of the Treasury himself apparently doesn't have access to the Department of
Treasury records. There will be another hearing this Friday.
Speaking of Doge, they have shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The new Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vote wrote a letter to the Federal Reserve
chairman who's in charge of the budget of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
and said the Office of Management budget will be giving you $0 in this upcoming quarter.
He said the Bureau already has $711 million waiting to be used.
He said this spigot long contributing to the CFPB's unaccountability is now being turned off.
President Trump was at the big game yesterday.
He posted to his truth social account a video of the crowd cheering for him
with a side by side of that crowd booing Taylor Swift.
Uh-oh.
When she was on the Jumbotron, she made an awkward face as everyone was booing her and she
mouthed, what's going on?
There was also a football game yesterday.
The Chiefs got blown out by the Eagles, 40 to 22, but the Chiefs got too late touchdowns
when they were already well out of it.
So that score doesn't quite paint the picture.
The Eagles were winning 24 to nothing at halftime.
Patrick Boholmes has never been down that much out the half ever in his career.
The Eagles pushed that to a 34 to nothing lead.
The Eagles defense had six sacks, three turnovers.
Jaylon Hertz, the quarterback of the Eagles, rushed for 72 yards, the most of a quarterback
in Super Bowl history.
He, of course, was the Super Bowl MVP.
And the coach of the Eagles, the first thing he said in his post-game interview was God's
blessed us very much.
He gave us all the talents to be able to get there.
First and foremost, thanks to him.
I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Monday, poking the bear, now this is just my assumption.
I could be wrong, but I believe that President Trump enjoys getting up each morning early
and figuring out ways to annoy the people who don't like him.
him. And by the time he gets to the Oval Office about 9.30, 10, he's got two or three things that
he's going to put out to the public that he knows are going to drive the left and the Democrats
crazy. This is kind of a hobby for Donald Trump. It's sport. He loves it. So let's say Gaza,
for example. Now, Mr. Trump knows America is not going to
occupy Gaza. It's not going to buy Gaza. It's not going to run Gaza. But he puts out there a
scenario whereby that terrible place wouldn't be much improved if the USA ran it, which is true.
And the president says that the Gazans themselves, 2.2 million of them, will never prosper.
under the current conditions, that it would take oversight from the United States, Europe,
and the other Arab countries to put into place an infrastructure where the Gazans could
have a decent living. All of that true. But Trump knows, just saying that, crushes his opponents.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill
O'Reilly.com, bill at bill o'Reilly.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail.
Angela, also a concierge member. Thank you, Angela. Pope Francis could clear his hypocrisy on
illegal immigrants by unlocking the gates to the Vatican. Uh, no, that's not fair. So there was a
Pope shot, you know that. There are a lot of terrorists who'd love to kill the Pope. You don't
on Lockheed Gates. And it's not hypocrisy that you're protecting yourself and the infrastructure
of Vatican City. Thelma Bowie, Lufkin, Texas. His brother Trump signed a no tax on social
security law. When does it go into effect? He doesn't sign a no tax on social security.
He doesn't have that power. Tax laws should be signed by Congress. Now they're going to start
to debate it soon. I don't know whether the social security component will get through or not.
But Trump doesn't have that power.
He can say this is what I want, and most Republicans would go along.
Mark Davies, Pataya, Thailand.
Haven't been to Pataya, I've been to Thailand, tough place.
A bill, two questions.
Is there now a leader of the opposition, the Democratic Party?
Yes.
Minnesota guy in, what's his name?
I forget.
He's a DNC chair.
Ken Martin.
I'm good. I'm old. And I can recall. Ken Martin. He's the usual Minnesota liberal guy. I mean, you know, it's not going to make a thing. In the House, Hakeem Jeffreys and our pal Chuck Schumer, leader in the Senate. That's what they got.
Second question. I know Elon Musk has no power. Does he have any more than Tom Holman of ICE? Homan has more power.
You have an official position inside the Homeland Security Department?
Musk is an advisor.
In a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly Update breaches something you might not know.
79 years ago today, one of the most infamous men in America was deported to Italy.
Despite his departure, the man continued to run a global crime syndicate
supplying narcotics to the USA and beyond.
Here is the story of Lucky Luciano, born Salvatore Luciana.
The young Sicilian emigrated to the USA in 1906 at the age of 10.
The teenager then teamed up with fellow Italian Frank Costello,
also Jewish mobster Meyer Lansky.
The crew made a fortune in drugs, prostitution, loan sharking, and murder for hire.
The bodies piled up.
In October 1929, Luciano was abducted by four men, beaten, stabbed with an ice pick, and left for dead on a beach in Staten Island.
But he miraculously survived and earned the name Lucky.
He soon went back to crime and became public enemy number one.
In 1936, Luciano was indicted, tried, and convicted of drug trafficking.
He was sentenced to Clinton prison in upstate New York for a 30-to-50-year term.
But during World War II, the U.S. military asked the Italian mob to help secure the Navy
yards in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Luciano gave the order to do that.
For that service to the national defense, his prison sentence was.
was commuted.
On February 10, 1946, the gangster was taken to New York Harbor,
placed on an ocean liner, and deported to Rome.
And here's something else you might not know.
Luciano eventually returned to the USA in a coffin.
The mobster suffered a fatal heart attack
at the Naples International Airport in 1962.
He was 64 years old.
Lucky Luciano's body was brought back
to America, his remains are buried at the St. John's Cemetery in Queens, New York City.
