What is the hidden agenda? Right back with that. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.

Time now if the O'Reilly Update message of the day, the real story behind climate change.
First of all, the earth is getting warmer.
That is a fact.
However, no one knows for sure why.
the evidence points to fossil fuels going into the atmosphere and eroding protections that Earth
has had in the past. There is evidence to make a strong case. But the exact extent of the danger
remains unprovable, and that is a fact as well. Nevertheless, President Biden's top priority is
not the economy. It's not COVID. It is fighting climate change. He has signed two executive
actions to back that up. The USA will rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement on reducing greenhouse
emissions, paying billions of dollars more than China to be in that crew over in Paris. Why? Why are we
paying billions of dollars more than China? No answer. Mr. Biden is going to reduce federal
subsidies to the fossil fuel industry because he wants to wipe it out. He's banning new drilling
leases on federal lands and conducting thorough reviews of pre-existing energy contracts. The result of
all that, as we have reported on the O'Reilly Update, is that all of us are paying higher gasoline
prices. In my neighborhood, the price of one gallon of gas is up about 50 cents since Biden took
over. And that's because the Keystone Pipeline is shut down, fracking in states like Pennsylvania and
Ohio being reduced, environmental justice for lower-income Americans.
minorities, Native Americans, also on the agenda, a transfer of the entire federal fleet of cars
and SUVs into electric vehicles within a decade. And the beat goes on. The total price tag
Joe Biden wants to fight climate change, $2 trillion with a T, $2 trillion. Money the USA does not have.
so what's really going on here well the climate change fight is designed to enhance the power of the
federal government that's number one because only the federal government can fight global warming
therefore many new taxes will arise to combat the heat and those taxes will deliver
more money to Washington. That money will be redirected to minority communities in the name of
climate justice. It's all about redistributing money. That's what the climate change policies come
down to, taking money away from corporations and from affluent Americans and giving it
to people who don't have very much. There you go. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve that message by
writing it. Disagree. I'd like to hear from you, bill at bill o'Reilly.com. In a moment, something you might

Now, the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know.
Sixty-one years ago today, President Dwight Eisenhower demanded radio stations and record companies crack down on payola, calling the issue quote a question of public morality.
So what exactly is payola?
Fresh off a series of scandals surrounding rigged quiz TV shows in the 1950s.
Congress turned his attention to corruption within the music business.
Paola refers to a practice as old as the industry itself,
manufacturing a hit record by paying for it to be played on the radio.
The more you spend, the more stations spin the song.
One disc jockey in Cleveland told Congress he made more than $12,000 in 12 months from, quote,
quote, listening fees. Back then, in the 1950s, early 60s, that was big money.
Legendary broadcaster Dick Clark's early career was nearly derailed by a paola scandal,
but he avoided trouble by selling his stake in a record company and cooperating with federal
authorities. The mob got involved. Organized crime families financed some of the biggest acts of the
1960s, including Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valley's four seasons. Congress and Mr. Eisenhower
call the practice of Paola an abuse of the public trust, since the airwaves are technically
property of all the people of the USA. The FCC stepped in making it illegal for radio
stations not to inform audiences when someone has provided payment, services, or something else of
value in return for getting a record played on the air. The rule also applies to television,
movies, and newspapers. And here's something else you might not know. Payola made a brief
comeback just a few years ago on social media. People with followers on Facebook and Instagram,
known as influencers, were quietly paid big bucks to promote products and services without
telling their audiences. Companies like Twitter crack down. And now all celebrities' influencers
are required to use the hashtag advertisement when getting paid to sell anybody's goods.
Back after this.
