Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, February 12th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America, American back home. A king to the White House. Fima should be terminated and a cabinet member off to Ukraine. That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, American Mark Fogel was released from Russian custody. He was arrested August of 2021.
at a Russian airport and was serving a 14-year prison sentence for being in possession of
drugs, which his family says was medically prescribed marijuana.
Mike Waltz said President Trump, Steve Whitkoff, and the president's advisors negotiated an
exchange that serves as a show of good faith from the Russians and a sign we are moving in
the right direction to end the brutal and terrible war in Ukraine.
J.D. Vance met with the president of France in Paris, while Trump hosted the King of Jordan
at the White House. At the top of the list with the King of Jordan, of course, was what to do with
the people of Gaza, as Trump stuck by his plan for America to take Gaza over. But the people
have to go somewhere. Trump did not threaten to withhold aid to Jordan, Egypt, or any other Arab nation
if they do not agree to increase the number of people from Gaza that they take in. Trump said,
I don't have to threaten that. I do believe we are above that. The King of Jordan did say he would
except 2,000 children with cancer and other health problems right away.
Trump called that a beautiful gesture, but not nearly enough.
There's 2 million people in Gaza.
The other day, Elon Musk said that FEMA officials spent $59 million, this is FEMA money,
for illegal aliens to live in hotels in New York City.
That was just last week, $59 million in a week.
Right after that, the Department of Homeland Security announced that four FEMA officials
who made that payment were fired.
This includes the agency's chief financial officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist.
Homeland Security said in a statement that they were deep state activists.
Quote, under President Trump and Secretary Nome's leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people.
Trump said on Truth Social last night that FEMA should be terminated.
It's been slow and totally ineffective.
Individual states should handle storms, et cetera, as they come.
Big savings, far more efficient.
Trump also said that he is sending the Treasury Secretary to Ukraine,
Scott Bessent, to meet with Zelensky.
Trump said this war must and will end soon.
Too much death and destruction.
The U.S. has spent billions of dollars globally with little to show.
When America is strong, the world is at peace.
An interesting move, not to send the Secretary of State or even someone like a Rick
Grinnell, but to send the Treasury Secretary.

On this Wednesday, because I am a simple man, my questions are not complicated. Here's the
latest one. Why are so many Americans angry that President Trump and Elon Musk are crusading
to eliminate wasteful federal spending? Don't we have a $37 trillion debt in this country? Shouldn't the
government be trying to get that down? There are two answers to my simple question. First,
millions of Americans oppose everything Donald Trump does, and now by extension the same applies
to Mr. Musk. Nothing these men do will ever be considered.
worthy. Second, most government spending goes to execute or promote liberal causes. Entitlements to the poor,
global warming strategies, programs that promote abortion. Just a few examples. But spending tax dollars
for condoms to give to the Taliban?
Yikes.
Allegedly, the USAID sent millions to Afghanistan to help out with procreation or lack thereof.
Does that make any sense?
Does Chuck Schumer support that program?
What's next?
Disco lessons for ISIS?
Liberals are on the wrong side of the issue.
Remember Kamala Harris, gravely damaging.
your campaign by supporting tax dollars for sex change operations? It's insane the whole thing.
Let's expose it. Let's get rid of it. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.
You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to
opine. Let's go to the mailmark, freshman New York City. I'm pleased with Donald Trump's
executive orders, but I'm concerned they can be overturned by the next president. Doesn't Trump
need to start passing laws similar to Lake and Riley so they can't be undone.
Number one, Donald Trump doesn't pass laws.
Okay, that's Congress.
Trump doesn't, he can get behind it, but he didn't pass it.
Number two, all laws are subject to revision.
Every law.
There's no law in stone in this country.
They can all be revised or thrown out by Congress.
That's the way of the system.
Joe, concierge member, Joe has special access to me.
if Joe gets in any trouble at all, my team will help him.
Donald Trump saying Canada should be the 51st state is a huge troll to Justin Trudeau,
the Democrats, and mostly to mainstream media.
Then he sits back with popcorn and enjoys the reaction.
That's an excellent analysis, Joe.
That's exactly what's happening.
John Rusamano, Farmington, Connecticut, regarding President Trump's executive order
to declaring cartels of terrorist organizations, which you advocated a long time ago,
Could this also provide many foreigners in Mexico and elsewhere solid grounds to apply for U.S. asylum?
No, because you cannot apply for U.S. asylum as a victim of a crime.
It's got to be a political act.
So if you live in a bad neighborhood anywhere in the world and the criminals all over the place,
that's not basis for asylum to come here.
Because the thinking is move out of the neighborhood.
You're going to move out of the neighborhood to come to America.
You can move out of the neighborhood and go to another place in your country.
See?
the asylum laws are pretty well spelled out.
Of course, the Democrats don't want to obey them.
Paul Anderson, Aiken, South Carolina,
obviously Mexico's of several President Trump,
given there are hundreds of thousands of American expats
living in Mexico, do you think they're in any danger?
I don't think there are hundreds of thousands.
I think about 50,000.
We're going to check that number tomorrow.
I would not be living in Mexico
under any circumstances.
Nobody going to help you if you get in trouble.
Nobody. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
44 years ago today, a young boy discovered nearly $6,000 in cash
while camping near the Columbia River in Washington State.
The FBI determined the money came from one of the most mysterious crimes of all time.
Here is the story behind the daring heist.
of D.B. Cooper. A day before Thanksgiving, 1971, a man calling himself Dan Cooper,
boarded a Northwest Airlines flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle.
Wearing a dark suit and glasses, D.B. took a seat. Shortly after, he handed the stewardess a small
note, quote, I have a bomb. Cooper calmly gave her a list of demands, $200,000 in cash, and four
parachutes. Three hours later, the Boeing 727 landed in Seattle. The passengers were
escorted off. DB's money brought aboard. The plane refueled then departed for Cooper's next
destination, allegedly Mexico. But 45 minutes later, the hijacker put on a parachute,
tied the duffel bag full of cash to his leg, lowered the rear door of the commercial
jet, then leaped into the darkness. A manhunt ensued. Jets and helicopters were scrambled from a
nearby military base. A thousand troops deployed to search the Pacific Northwest. The FBI followed
thousands of leads to find Cooper, considering more than 800 suspects in the five years that followed.
But the man was never found. Nine years later, an eight-year-old named
Brian Ingram was digging a fire pit when he uncovered the three bottles of cash.
The serial numbers matched the bills delivered to D.B. Cooper.
After search, no further evidence was discovered.
And here's something else you might not know.
The FBI officially closed Cooper's case in 2016.
Many experts believe a likely scenario is that Cooper's parachute failed to open
and he died upon land impact.
Do you believe that?
Back after this.
