Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It's Thursday, February 15, 2024. Here's what's happening today in America. A serious threat. Majority Slims. Zuck fired up and a sad day in the world of toaster pastries. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, we're being told by House members that there is a, quote, very serious.
national security threat, we're told it might be related to Russia.
Sources say it's, quote, very sensitive information.
And one intelligence source said it is, in fact, a highly concerning and destabilizing
Russian capacity that we were recently made aware of.
On my radio show this week, we've talked about a secret session of Congress that no one's
talking about.
And it requires a majority of vote to have one.
And if it happens, it would be the fifth time since 1830.
So it never happened during all of World War II, Vietnam, Korea.
and it means there's no public, no press, no congressional aides.
We won't know if any votes were made and who voted how on whatever the issue is.
We don't know yet if that secret session will happen,
but it seems like if it does, this is what it would be about.
The top Republican on the House Intel Committee from Ohio Turner said he's requesting
that Joe Biden declassify all information relating to this threat
so that Congress, the administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary
to respond to this threat.
George Santos, of course, was kicked out a congressman, congressman from Long Island,
first person to be expelled from the House without being first convicted of a federal crime
or for having supported the Confederacy.
A couple months ago, the House voted to expel him, and they had their special election yesterday,
and the Democrats took back the seat.
The Democrat won 54 to 46th.
The Republican candidate was an Ethiopian woman.
Those racist Democrats wouldn't vote for her.
Apple released their first virtual reality headset last week.
the Apple Vision Pro, and Mark Zuckerberg says,
whoa, whoa, whoa, ours is way better.
The MetaQuest 3.
Not only is it $500 instead of Apple's $3,500,
but Zuckerberg made a three-minute video
saying the technology's better.
It's more comfortable, no motion blur,
more accurate hand-tracking,
so you get to pick which way you want to disconnect
from the real world and live in the metaverse.
In other technology news,
the man who invented the Pop-Tart has passed away.
Bill Post, born one of seven kids
to Dutch immigrants. At 16, started working at a biscuit company in Grand Rapids.
That company became known as the Keebler Company. After World War II, he came back and came up
with a new product known as the Fruit Scone, which would not have worked at all, but luckily
they changed the name to Pop-Tart. There were four flavors in 1964. Today, there are 30. Bill
passed away at the age of 96. The great Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, the head of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, was impeached in the
House this week by one vote.
Every Democrat voted against it.
This is the second try on Alejandro.
Republicans couldn't get the votes last week.
The Senate, not really interested in this at all, may not even hold its trial.
But there's no question that the Homeland Security boss should be booted because he's not protecting the homeland.
Pretty simple.
On his watch, the open border is one of the biggest scandals in American history.
including every American in danger.
Alejandro does what he is told to do by the Biden administration.
He could not care less about national security or your personal safety.
He is a political hack, who would have been fired a long time ago from any honest private
company.
But the federal government is not honest.
It is all ideology all the time.
The progressive movement wants no restrictions on immigration.
Every single Democratic congressperson and senator kneels before that demand.
Why?
Because if they don't, they are canceled by their party.
Awful doesn't even begin to describe this situation.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing.
it, you can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town, if you wish to
opine. Let's go to the mail. We got Frank Camito, Katie, Texas. Bill Y sent 65 a billion cash to
Ukraine. How will Zelensky spend it? It's not cash. All right? It's 60 million in military
hardware with a small component of humanitarian aid. That's what's in the bill.
I agree with your position regarding Ukraine.
We must defeat Putin to keep peace abroad or the American economy will be hurt.
Patty, Spingath, Morgantown, North Carolina, Alina.
But my husband and I don't understand why the U.S. should continue to fund Ukraine with no apparent strategy or end in sight.
Money we spend on foreign wars doesn't seem to accomplish anything.
Well, Patty, I guess you missed last night in my...
in my, and I know you guys can't watch every episode of the No Spin News. I know that.
But I were deeply into this. You can watch it on Bill O'Reilly.com. I think we have broken
that segment out and explains everything. But I understand you can't see everything.
Paul Smith, appoint Roberts, Washington. Bill, you keep insisting Congress should work on a border
bill. There are enough laws in place to seal the border. No, they're not. Okay, they're simply
arm. Asylum requests have to be overhauled 100%, 100%. And that's the key to any immigration
bill, because now everybody crossing that border is claiming asylum. Richard Middellman,
Pasadena, California, do the sanctuary cities who are crying now for help from the federal
government have a legal obligation of financial support to illegals, depending on the charter?
petty like new york city has this oblique thing that it has to house people or something everybody everybody's
different there is no federal mandate to give welfare or entitlements to foreign nationals across
and here none in a moment something you might not know power politics and the people behind the
headlines i'm miranda divine new york post columnist and

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
Five years ago today, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency along the southern border.
His order was immediately blocked by Democrats in Congress and eventually the courts.
Here is the story.
During the 2016 campaign, Trump pledged to build a wall between the United States and Mexico
and he said the Mexican government would pay for it.
Well, after years of failed budget negotiations,
Trump issued proclamation 9-844,
also known as a national emergency
concerning the southern border of the United States.
That order diverted $8 billion to construct the wall.
Well, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer released a joint statement
in calling the proclamation, quote, a lawless act, a gross abuse of power of the presidency
and a desperate attempt to distract from the fact that President Trump broke his core promise
to have Mexico pay for the wall, unquote. California and 16 other states sued the White
House. Trump's order was stymied by litigation until the inauguration of Joe Biden.
On his first day in office, the new president issued his own proclamation called the termination,
of the emergency along the southern border of the United States.
Biden's decision was catastrophic.
In Trump's last year, 2020, 400,000 people breached the border, according to the border patrol.
In 21, that figure exploded to 1.6 million, then 2.2 million.
last year, 2.5 million at least. Between 2019 and today, the amount of fentanyl seized in Texas alone
as tripled to 25,000 pounds. Human rights groups estimate the number of child sex slaves
has also increased 300 percent, all of this because of the open border. And here's something else
you might not know. The bipartisan border bill proposed by the White House does virtually
nothing to stop the crisis. In the legislation, a national emergency would only be triggered
if more than 5,000 migrants entered a day. That's another 1.8 million a year. That's why the bill
went down. Back after this.
