Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thanks, Bill.
Here's what's happening this week in America.
Reciprocal tariffs.
Another post filled, gold bars found an aircraft carrier collision.
It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be it with your message today.
But first, Donald Trump announcing what he's calling reciprocal tariffs.
He is calling on his administration to determine the equivalent of a reciprocal.
tariff with respect to each foreign trading partner.
So the administration plans to impose tariffs on other countries that match the duties
that they impose on American products.
Trump officials stressed the benefit of addressing this on a case-by-case basis,
saying, quote, it opens the door for each country to correct the unfair trade practices
that they are engaging in.
Tulsi Gabbard and now RFK Jr.
have been added to the Trump cabinet.
Linda McMahon had her hearing yesterday to be the secretary.
of the Department of Education, which is an interesting one because Trump and she both want to
eliminate the department entirely. She will make it through. The only wildcard now is Cash Patel,
head of the FBI. The Democrats are very afraid of Cash Patel, but yesterday he advanced past
the judiciary committee. So far, 15 of Trump's cabinet members have been confirmed. At this point,
in Joe Biden's presidency, he only had six confirmed. Still to go, ag, commerce, small business,
labor, trade, and the UN ambassador.
The head of the EPA, Lee Zeldin, said that they found $20 billion in grant money that
the Biden administration was handing out as they were walking out the door.
The $20 billion in grants was given to what's called the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund,
more commonly known as the Green Bank.
The money is intended for competitive grants to nonprofits, community development banks,
and other groups for projects with a focus on disadvantaged communities.
Republicans call it a slush fund.
You can only imagine the kickbacks.
Kudos to James O'Keefe.
There was an undercover video that he made about two months ago of an EPA staffer saying that the Biden administration was, quote,
tossing gold bars off the Titanic in order to spend billions of taxpayer dollars before Donald Trump took office.
Well, Lee Zeldon and the EPA found the gold bars.
Zeldon said the days of irresponsibly shoveling boatloads of cash to far-left activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate.
climate equity are over.
The aircraft carrier, USS Harry Truman, collided with a merchant vessel in the Mediterranean
sea near Egypt.
The 100,000 ton aircraft carrier collided with a 53,000 ton merchant vessel.
5,000 sailors are on that aircraft carrier, no injuries reported.
I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update,
message of the day.
On this Wednesday, because I am a simple man,
my questions are not complicated.
Here's the latest one.
Why are so many Americans angry,
President Trump and Alon Musk are crusading to eliminate wasteful federal spending.
Don't we have a $37 trillion debt in this country? Shouldn't the government be trying to get that
down? There are two answers to my simple question. First, millions of Americans oppose everything
Donald Trump does, and now by extension the same applies to Mr. Musk. Nothing these men do will
ever be considered worthy. Second, most government's
spending goes to execute or promote liberal causes. Entitlements to the poor, global warming
strategies, programs that promote abortion. Just a few examples. But spending tax dollars for
condoms to give to the Taliban? Yikes! Allegedly, the USAID sent millions to Afghanistan to help out
with procreation or lack thereof. Does that make any sense? Does Chuck Schumer support that
program? What's next? Disco lessons for ISIS? Liberals are on the wrong side of the issue.
Remember Kamala Harris gravely damaging your campaign by supporting tax dollars for sex change
operations? It's insane the whole thing. Let's expose it. Let's get rid of it. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve
the message by writing it, you can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com,
name in town, if you wish to opine. Let's go to the mailmark, a freshman New York City.
I'm pleased with Donald Trump's executive orders, but I'm concerned they can be overturned
by the next president. Doesn't Trump need to start passing laws similar to Lake and Riley
so that it can't be undone. Number one, Donald Trump doesn't pass laws. Okay, that's Congress.
Trump doesn't. He can get behind it, but he didn't pass it. Number two,
all laws are subject to revision. Every law. There's no law in stone in this country.
They can all be revised or thrown out by Congress. That's the way of the system.
Joe, concierge member, Joe has special access to me. If Joe gets in any trouble at all,
my team will help him. Donald Trump saying Canada should be the 51st state is a huge
troll to Justin Trudeau, the Democrats, and mostly to mainstream media. Then he sits back with
popcorn and enjoys the reaction. That's an excellent analysis, Joe. That's exactly what's
happening. John Rusamano, Farmington, Connecticut, regarding President Trump's executive order
to declaring cartels of terrorist organizations, which you advocated a long time ago.
Could this also provide many foreigners in Mexico and elsewhere solid grounds to apply for
U.S. asylum? No, because you cannot apply for U.S. asylum as a victim of a crime. It's got to be a
political act. So if you live in a bad neighborhood,
anywhere in the world and the criminals all over the place, that's not basis for asylum
to come here. Because the thinking is, move out of the neighborhood. You're going to move
out of the neighborhood to come to America. You can move out of the neighborhood and go to another
place in your country. See? The asylum laws are pretty well spelled out. Of course, the Democrats
don't obey them. Paul Anderson, Aiken, South Carolina, obviously Mexico's of southern President
Trump, given there are hundreds of thousands of American expats living in Mexico, do you think
they're in any danger. I don't think there are hundreds of thousands. I think about 50,000.
We're going to check that number tomorrow. I would not be living in Mexico under any circumstances.
Nobody going to help you if you get in trouble. Nobody. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know.
72 years ago this week, Popeius X. 12th appealed to the USA for clemency over a Jewish family
convicted of espionage. Here is the story behind the execution of the Rosenbergs. New Yorker Julius
Rosenberg joined the U.S. Army in 1940. Unknown to the military, he and his wife Ethel were members
of the Communist Party. Her brother, Sergeant David Greenglass, worked as a
machinists at the Manhattan Project, which was developing the atom bomb. In 1945, the Army accused
the Rosenbergs of transferring nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union. The couple was charged
with conspiracy to commit espionage and brought to trial in 1951. On March 29, they were found
guilty and sentenced to death. For two years, the Rosenberg case was appealed through the courts
and before world opinion. Many believe the couple was targeted because of anti-Semitism.
Others claim the charges were exaggerated to intimidate the public. In February 1953,
the Pope asked President Eisenhower to commute the sentences to life in prison. Eisenhower refused.
He wanted to send a clear message to future spies. On June 19th, the couple was brought,
brought before the electric chair in New York Sing Sing Prison.
35-year-old Julius died immediately after the first shock.
Then his body was removed.
Ethel was placed on the device, but her execution was excruciating.
She survived three bolts of electricity.
Her body was removed, but doctors determined she was still alive.
Immediately, Ethel Rosenberg was brought back to the electric chair
and given to more shocks. She died 30 minutes later at the age of 37. And here's something else you
might not know. Archives released after the fall of the USSR show Julius Rosenberg was part of a
communist spy ring. But evidence against his wife Ethel remained scant. It is possible that she
played no significant role in helping the Soviets. Back to
after this.
