Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Good morning, Bill.
It is Monday, February 17th, 2025.
Here's his afternoon today in America.
Governors keep up.
Doge to Pentagon, J.D. to Munich, and Trump to Daytona.
It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, Republican state governors trying to keep up with Trump.
Republicans in at least nine states have moved to create their own statewide doge
Task Force. The governor of Tennessee signed a new school voucher program called universal school
vouchers, but doesn't include illegal aliens. Nashville also said there could be no sanctuary
cities in the entire state. Ohio and Arkansas are putting work requirements on Medicaid
recipients. In Florida, if an illegal alien enters Florida, they could face a mandatory
sentence of nine months in jail. If an illegal alien commits a capital felony like murder or sex
abuse of a young child, they must be sentenced to death. Also,
every law enforcement agency has to notify ICE if they arrest any illegal alien.
DeSanta said we here in Florida have a responsibility to be strong partners with the Trump
administration.
Pentagon officials are offering up lists of possible cuts right to Doge.
Elon and Doge are going to tackle the Pentagon this week, $800 billion budget.
The defense secretary Pete Hexeth said that he welcomes Doge to the Pentagon and agrees that
waste needs to be addressed.
Speaking of Doge, they've also began to begin to.
who target probationary employees within the federal government who have about a year or two
where they can be fired for pretty much any reason, there are 200,000 of those across the federal
government. J.D. Vance spoke at a Munich security conference. Now the day before this speech,
a man from Afghanistan drove his car into a group of people, killed a two-year-old, and this baby's
mom, and injured 37 other people. J.D. Vance said at this event, I believe there's nothing more
urgent than mass migration. Today, almost one in five people.
living in this country, Germany, moved here from abroad, an all-time high.
He said, and we know the situation did not materialize in a vacuum.
It's the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent
and others across the world over the span of a decade.
He also said this is a defense conference, but what's the use of arguing over budgeting
questions if, quote, we don't know what it is that we're defending in the first place.
Trump gave the starting command at the Daytona 500 this weekend.
His presidential limo, The Beast, also led the cars, and Trump said over the radio to all the drivers, this is your favorite president.
I'm a big fan.
I'm really a big fan of you, people.
How you do this, I don't know.
In other sports news, Team USA hockey beat Canada in Canada after their fans booed our national anthem.
America won 3 to 1.
Team USA hockey always pulls through for us.
Everyone calls today President's Day, but it's officially called George Washington's birthday.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update,
message of the day.
On this Monday, four weeks into the Trump administration,
America has seen a 90% drop in foreign nationals
trying to cross the border to seek asylum
or sneak into this country, 90%.
Doge, Elon Musk,
has uncovered billions of dollars of wasteful spending. And now President Trump and bad Vlad Putin
have agreed to talk about ending the war in Ukraine. That's not bad for four weeks.
But my question is, why didn't President Biden do any of that? What was going on?
on for four years in this country.
So the border totally out of control.
Everybody knows it.
Indefensible.
Biden has never even addressed it.
First day, executive order, open the border.
Anybody who wants to come in can come in.
We'll pay for it.
Joe, that's not good.
That hurt the country.
Then the spending, Joe Biden, the biggest spending president in history.
No explanation.
and now we're seeing where all the money went, crazy places.
And finally, Putin wouldn't even talk to Biden.
That's the truth.
He would not even talk to the man.
So those of you who voted for Kamala Harris, who's by extension, Joe Biden,
see if you can answer those questions.
Why didn't Joe do anything?
I'm Bill O'Reilly.

Name in town, if you wish to opine.
Now let's go to the mail.
Michael Pelt, Jacksonville, Florida.
For decades, we've been told that federal employees
cannot be easily fired due to the existing civil service laws.
Now it appears President Trump can fire employees at will.
No, we can.
It's got to go through the process.
So they're offering buyouts.
And about 65,000 federal employees want the buyouts.
Then I just saying, hey, get out.
There's a process.
Okay?
And we got to downsize it.
Mike Tobay, Columbia Falls, Montana.
Bill of Congress passed a law that funds an agency,
and it's discovered those funds are being used fraudulently.
Doesn't Congress have a duty to pull those funds back.
They're already gone.
They can cut the funding for the next budget year.
but again
Congress doesn't really care about this, does it?
Now, with Doge,
hopefully that's changed.
Neil Horowitz, Long Beach, New York,
out on Long Island.
Why haven't Biden and Mayork
has been charged with treason by the Trump
Department of Justice
for violating our Constitution and Immigration Laws?
Because they have immunity.
Every elected official has immunity
from their decision-making
even if it's faulty.
Right? So you can't charge them. That's why. And treasonism, that's, treason is like the Rosenbergs.
You can't say, oh, they didn't obey federal law. That's treason. Not even, they get thrown out in a minute.
But you got to remember, if you elect someone, or we the people elect someone, you can't haul them in a court for decision making.
And even if that means they didn't uphold the law. They violated their oath. You can impeach them. You can do that.
You can't charge him in criminal court.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Oh, tasty high note.
Oh, hi, don't mind me.
I'm practicing my new baritone sacks.

Since taking office a month ago, Donald Trump has vowed to vanquish corruption at the Department
of Justice, specifically the FBI. A recent survey from Gallup finds less than 50% of
Americans now support the Bureau. Here's some recent scandals that have rattled.
the public, July 2016. At the height of the presidential campaign, FBI director James Comey cleared
Hillary Clinton of mishandling classified information, wrote the Bureau chief, quote,
in looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information,
we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges against Hillary Clinton.
But a few months later in October, Comey reversed himself, saying that maybe Hillary did something wrong,
and that threw the election into chaos. July 2017, special agent Peter Strzok is fired from
Robert Mueller's Russia collusion probe after text messages showed political bias. In private conversations with FBI
lawyer, Lisa Page, struck vowed, we'll stop Trump by creating, quote, an insurance policy
against his administration. That's from an FBI agent investigating Trump. Not good.
August 2020, declassified material shows the FBI misled Congress about the reliability of
so-called steel dossier. The fraudulent document was used by the Obama administration to
obtain warrants and spy on the Trump campaign in support of Hillary.
October 2020, the FBI suppresses information about Hunter Biden's missing laptop.
The device contains statements of multiple felonies, including drug use, illegal possession of a
handgun, and prostitution. Details from the laptop were hidden from the public until after
the 2020 election. So you add it all up, and the FBI,
is chin deep in corruption. It should be investigated. Back after this. This podcast is brought
